In Proverbs, Wisdom and Folly are compared and contrasted in actions and results. Folly calls with two voices - the voice of exploitation and the voice of adulatory. We are watch out for the temptations of Folly, and the cry of selfishness. Rather we are to follow the words of Jesus to do "unto others what we would have them do to us."
This week's Sunday school lesson looks at Proverbs Chapter 8. We are encouraged to seek wisdom. In this passage, we find that wisdom was there at the very beginning of the universe, watching and guiding. When we hear the voice of wisdom calling by the gates, we should take heed to the lessons wisdom offers. Its value in our lives is greater than rubies, and nothing else can compare.

Two great kings that came out to fight the Israelites on their journey out of Egypt. This account is found in Deuteronomy 2, and is one of the most frequently referenced battles throughout the old testament.
The Sunday School series continues with the "Great Victories of the Bible." This week is the defeat of the Amalekites when the Israelites were journeying from Egypt to the promised land. While traveling the Amalekites would attack and pick off stragglers from the camp. This was a new defeat for the newly freed people. With God, the people faced the danger and defeated the enemy while Moses stood on a mountain top holding the staff. This is a challenge to look up and find strength in God.
This week's sermon is "Never Give In" with the theme being from Ezra 3. The Israelites had returned from Babylon and begin work on the temple. Right from the outset difficulties arise. Groups work to undermine the construction. When you are doing God’s work, there will be opposition. The temptation to give up and stop will come. Even in that "seek first the kingdom of God.”. Set your sights on the higher calling. Even though the beginning may have been small, don’t give up.
