Our friend, Fr. Jonathan Raia, gave this homily during a Diocesan Youth Conference just after the Diocese of Austin released the names of all priests and religious who had been credibly accused of sexual abuse of minors since 1950. His words of wisdom are a source of hope for the future of the Church and healing for victims and anyone who is affected by the sexual abuse scandal in the Catholic Church. "Love rejoices with the Truth, even with the truth is hard... in the past, the Church south its own interest, as the institution of the Church, we forgot about the people who are the Church" "Striving for holiness is the key to healing our Church, speaking the truth is the path towards healing"
No one knows the pain of the sexual abuse crisis in the Church better than a victim refusing to abandon the Catholic Faith. I am one such victim.
On this Feast of the Holy Family, we would like to reflect on the parental roles of Mary and Joseph. Parents are the best and most qualified people to form saints of their children. All other people, including priests only assist in this task.

Our faith teaches us and science reinforces the need for recreation. We must have healthy human relationships in addition to a healthy spiritual life.
