Hi there, Built on Hope and Zion’s Finest listeners!

Jessica here with a short update. (I tried to upload this audio update a few weeks ago but got a you have uploaded too much this month error message). You may have noticed some changes to your podcast experience. As most of you know, Kenny, of the Zion’s Finest podcast, has released his last episode and is no longer continuing the Zion’s Finest podcast. Kenny has officially hung up his hat and stopped hosting the podcast on his Podbean. I felt that it was a complete tragedy for the podcast to not have a place on the internet for listeners to enjoy so asked Kenny if he wanted us, Built on Hope, to host his episodes (since we are paying for our own podcast anyways). He agreed! Thus the Build on Hope Podbean became the new home for the Zion’s Finest archive.

Now…because of how the “import” function works on Podbean, all of you Zion’s Finest listeners have been teleported along with the episodes! That was not actually intentional and I apologise for any confusion or trauma that may have caused, sorry Derek! We are currently working on labelling  the Zion’s Finest episodes so that they are easier to find but it’s going to take us a little time. Unlike Kenny I do actually sleep so…yeah.

Anywho! For anyone that doesn’t know us, Built on Hope is a podcast dedicated to discussing competitive Imperial Assault mostly focused on IACP (the IA continuity project). We try to release episodes every few weeks.

Happy listening everyone!

Here it is. You get four brothers, two poems (both Wendell Berry), one rant (okay maybe more), and zero regrets. God bless you all. Thank you for letting me and the crew be a part of your lives for as long as we were. I will never, ever, ever forget it.

Here's the schedule:

0:01:00 - Introduction 0:07:05 - The Chat 1:12:46 - The Final Doubt Rant (that is honestly the best part of the podcast) 1:35:52 - Signing Off, I love you all

The most amazing thing about this episode is that, even with our time in the sun having past, WE STILL FOUGHT ABOUT DOUBT! Honestly, it is close to the most glorious moment of the podcast and I'd give anything to be able to pick insane fights with you all on something that will cause all of those participating to RAAAAAAAGE!

Just a reminder, this will be up on Podbean, iTunes, and all other podcast services for two more weeks, then we're going offline. I'd encourage those of you that want to save podcast episodes that you or a friend appeared on to save them quick. I saw that earlier in the week we got a few hundred downloads of older episodes, which I presume are people doing just this. I have the hard copies on my computer, but I'd prefer that everyone download them on their end. But if you're ever needing one, just message me and I should be able to get it to you pretty quick.

Someone got lucky in Vegas. That someone is the one who I thought never got lucky. No I'm not speaking in euphemisms. I have seen Matthew Scott Richards roll dice. He is very bad at rolling things that are not garbage.

Fortunately, not only did Matt get lucky, but he leveraged his brain power in order to secure the final Nationals win for IA at the recent Las Vegas Open.

In this episode, Matt and I break down why the double Pirates list is so good, how we think it fares against everything else, and what we think we would do to change it for Worlds.

ENJOY!

There is a Droid deployment card for Scum that is capable of winning tournaments. No, it's not IG. That fellow had his time in the sun but all he's left to do is be a nurse to Baby Yoda and wish that Thrawn and Cats weren't around to ruin his day. No, it's not BT. That fellow ... well, he was never very good (sorry Joey).

Back in the day, oh so many years ago, there was a list that had this unit which was the terror of the meta. The unit could reliably hit a figure from 7-10 spaces away, they could be focused, and they could force white die to reroll dodges. The naysayers among you might say, "Aren't you just describing Weequay Pirates?" Well, no, I'm not, because this unit can't play the best card in the game, which is On the Lam.

And yet, he persisted. David from the Michigan Mandalorians took down BRIAN MARKS' Jamal Heroes list TWICE to win a recent regional. I know. I literally could not believe it. But David knows his stuff, so beware the ... oh boy ... HKs.

Make sure to pay attention to my review of the next few weeks for closing up shop. I LOVE YOU ALL.

FRIENDS! The final Utah Regional has come and gone, and someone sold his soul to the god of the mercenaries in order to pull home the win. Yes, I know what you're thinking, but I just couldn't run the Box into what was going to be a murderer's row. Scott and Matt were running Vader and the Jets, Joey was running eRiots, AND THE CATS WERE EVERYWHERE.

So I sold out. I ran my Worlds list, and was able to go undefeated on the day, beating Joey in the final.

AND IT WAS JOEY'S LIST THAT WAS THE STORY OF THE DAY. The man's list is nuts, and I cannot wait for you to hear about it.

Joey was able to get through his own murderer's row on the way to the top of the charts, including beating Scott's Vader and the Jets in the Top Four. Yes, it was a nuts kind of day.

Enjoy this one!

Friends. If you are running Hunters or Rebel Heroes, and you run into Cats, may God have mercy on your soul. They are so dynamic, they exert so much pressure, and they are able to remove figures that you cannot protect from an insane distance away.

There is one person on this planet who still thinks that Han Rangers has play on Maul's map. That's right. One. We all know this person, who is of course Isaac Borno. Despite my protestations, he truly believes that Han Rangers has what it takes to make it all the way--no matter the map. I know, I know, I think he is insane as well.

Welp, turns out Isaac not only talks a good game, but walks that game. In fact, he walked it all the way to Lyon, France in order to storm French Nationals.

As someone considering giving Han Rangers a go this regional season, I tried to pick his brain to get a clue as to how to make Maul's map work, which I think is pretty tough to do. Listen in for Isaac's tips and report on French Nationals.

Thank you!

No need to be dramatic about it. Andrew Navaro--one of the upper-management guys at FFG--announced that IA would not be getting any further physical content. Navaro cited business reasons, and pretty heavily implied that some kind of legal issue precluded further discussion. It was also clear that not only would IA no longer be getting physical content releases but that OP support for the game would be winding down.

In this episode, I lay out what I think the path will be for the next few months. Please give it a listen and give me any feedback or suggestions as to how you think we can make our final OP season meaningful and fun. I love you all.

Well, Pat Christian's six GenCon opponents sure did, and boy were they in for it. Pat ran a finely tuned Jawa Swarm to the top of the heap at the recent GenCon tournament and in this episode he gives us a rundown on how he did it.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!

Please stay active in your local community. If you are looking for ways to reengage local players with the game, the IACP is an amazing way to reintroduce skirmish to players looking to freshen things up.

GOOD LUCK AT NOVA YOU EAST COASTERS! EAST COAST WORST COAST AMIRITE?! (I love you all.)

As if David hadn't struck enough terror into the hearts of the IA community, he decided to really drive it home by showing up to the UK Game Expo in order to demonstrate the power of his fully armed and operational battle ... er ... cats.

That's right, David Gao is the UK National Champion, and he rode into and out of town on a troop of ferocious bloodthirsty Loth-Cats. I expect the Queen to grant him a peerage any moment know. Earl of Whiskerton sounds great and will make for a terrific coat of arms.

We're also joined by the other half of the London Gao family--Jessica--who also attended the UKGE and played in the Nationals tournament. She played Spectre with a 14 point command deck, with an unplayable card (Dark Energy), and she damn near won the whole thing.

Listen to the Gaos recount the tournament. You will love it!

FRIENDS! Are you disheartened that FFG sux? Do you wish that they would get off it and do something about our most beloved game?

Well, I got bad news, and I have good news. You know the bad news: FFG sux. But there is good, great, glorious news, and that is that we have the best gaming community that has ever existed (THAT'S RIGHT I PHRASED IT IN THE EMPHATIC DECLARATIVE). Because we are the best gaming community, we are focused on making sure that players have the resources to continue to enjoy and love this game, which serves as the predicate condition for ...

THE I A C P!

The Imperial Assault Continuity Project is the product of collaboration, discussion, argument (only a little), and the white hot passion of the Imperial Assault community. In this episode, I got some of the more-involved players to come on and talk about the project, what it hopes to accomplish, and how we can help.

I know you will enjoy it.

I assume that you know that Loth-Cats are garbage. They are the most ignored unit in the Tyrants of Lothal box. They're so bad that I've literally never played a competitive game of skirmish in which either I or my opponent has played Loth-Cats. They're awful.

Well, someone forgot to tell all this information to David Gao, and he proceeded to wreck almost the entirety of everyone's face at Worlds. In a Hunter/Loth-Cat list, David managed to go 5-1, being the only player to take Loth-Cats into the top cut of anything I'm sure, and one of four non-Specter lists in the top cut. This man is legit.

Enjoy his soft-spoken demeanor; heaven knows this podcast could use someone to help me cool my volume.

MAKE SURE TO GET INVOLVED AND STAY INVOLVED IN THE IACP. WE NEED COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION IN ORDER TO MAKE THIS THING WORK AND IF IT'S JUST ME IN THE CAPTAIN'S SEAT THEN EVERYONE BETTER BE READY FOR A FOUR COST AHSOKA AND A FREE MHD IN EVERY LIST THANK YOU YOU'RE WELCOME.

I love you all. Thank you for listening.

What can we say in the face of BPK's triumph? He has been a mainstay of the community for years, he is one of the leading members of the IA Continuity Project, and he is one of the most passionate members of our little slacker ship of Zion. The man, the myth, the legend. Brett Kelly.

In this episode Brett gives a survey of Worlds. He provides a lot of insights as to why he took the defensive kit for Spectre, how he was able to grind out so many mirrors, and what it's like to finally make it to the top. I know you're all going to love this.

ONE HUNDRED.

No one to join me in this centurion commemoration of our little boat’s journey across the mighty ocean of Star Wars gaming fandom. I wanted to just record a short little bit, give a recap of Worlds, and wax melodramatic while reading poetry about ancient deeds of heroism.

That’s right. I read poetry, and I ain’t one damned sight ashamed of it.

Please give it a listen. I give a short summary of the recording schedule for the next few weeks and give some general thoughts on the future of the game, then I talk about Worlds, and I close with a paean of acclamation for our fledgling band of heroes.

We few, we happy few. Friends, what an incredible ride we have had. In the last two years, we created a Slack that has grown to over two hundred and fifty players, started a podcast that has consumed almost one hundred thousand hours of people's waking time, got organized about IA skirmish, and have sustained competitive skirmish far longer than it would have lasted without our efforts.

In this episode, we give one final joust into the Worlds prep meta and then proceed to wax both salty (about FFG) and sweet (about literally everything besides FFG). This is a glorious episode and I know you will enjoy it.

Oh how I cannot wait to see your glorious visages at Worlds. We'll be recording Episode 100 on-site, and lots is going to be happening, so make sure that everyone stays close to the Renaissance so that we can ensure that we get lots of participation in all the side events that we will be doing (Smash, Root, Two Rooms and a Boom, and much much more).

TOURNAMENT RECAP

Sam Sweeten and I give a rundown on the recent, AMAZING, online Vassal tournament that the Zion's Finest crew hosted. We had forty-one players show up for an epic bout of swiss. There weren't a ton of surprises; no IG or Han in the cut, and no Alliance Rangers in the tournament at all, and I think it gives us an excellent picture of what to expect at Worlds.

SEE YOU IN TWO WEEKS!

WORLDS PREP!

DT graciously agreed to come on the podcast in order to give some very sage counsel regarding Worlds Prep. Our conversation focuses around Spectre, obvs, and DT has the usual incredible insights regarding positioning, advantage, and strategy that I am sure will take him to the four-peat.

THANK YOU FOR LISTENING! Good luck on Saturday to the Vassal tournament participants!

WORLDS PREP!

Scott, Jamal, Matt, Dave, and I gathered round the board to discuss Worlds prep. We focused on the major non-Spectre archetypes for the nine players planning to not play Spectre at Worlds. We have a lot of fun, and we talk about how we have adjusted our play style or what our plan is for defeating Spectre at Worlds. So it's a good episode for you Spectre players looking to crush our hopes and dreams.

Check out Episode 096, which is the second part of this episode (because we planned--and did--run a bit long).

MAKE SURE TO GET YOURSELVES PREPPED FOR THE VASSAL REGIONAL THIS SATURDAY! Even if you're not playing any games, it's going to be a great way to prep for Worlds as you watch players go through the paces on the various maps.

We are in the preliminary stage of one of the greatest battles in history....

So said Winston Churchill at a time when it actually mattered and before England would again pour itself out in the defense of its ancient kingdom and liberties.

I wanted to make a lot of clever comparisons between Lothal Blitz and the air campaign waged in the defense of Britain, but fortunately came to my senses and decided instead to merely quote the eminent statesmen and include a selection of music from Oldman's masterwork.

On to the real bit. Friends, Spectre on Lothal Blitz is one hundred percent broken. In a non-mirror match, where the opposing list needs at least one turn to gin up in terms of focusing, drawing command cards, etc., Spectre will win approximately ninety percent of the time. I am sure that some of you will think I am being hyperbolic (I am not), that more testing is necessary (it isn't), and that we can crack this nut before Worlds (we won't). Spectre is in their opponent's deployment zone in round one. As Matt and I discuss, in his first activation in the majority of his games as Spectre on Lothal Blitz, he was able to deal approximately fifteen damage (killing Onar, two Rangers, etc.). His first activation. I even attempted to deploy my forces at the very back of my deployment zone. It did not matter, except to briefly delay the end.

There is no way to stop Spectre when you have no time to power up your attacks, and on Blitz you will get no time.

I wish there was a bit of shine I could put on the problem, but it just isn't there. When Ugnaughts appeared and briefly dominated the meta, there was at least hope for support from FFG in the form of an errata or future product. While new product may be in the pipeline, it will not arrive before Worlds and there is a vanishingly small chance of an errata to Spectre prior to Worlds.

Let's talk about this more on the Slack. We have played it enough that we feel comfortable making these kind of stark claims. We have a lot of fun talking about the existential crisis that we think we are facing, but we keep on target enough to make our reasons clear (especially Matt, for all the obvious reasons). I have spent all my fan-capital with Todd and FFG, but if anyone has a line to someone in a position of authority, as Obi-Wan says, "Now is the time."

I love you all. Thank you so much for your support.

Welcome to Episode 12 of the Fully Armed and Operational Podcast!

Andrew asked if I would be willing to host their final (or is it ANDREW NICHOLAS JORGEN or is it?!) Imperial Assault episode (at least for a while), to which I happily agreed. Someone has to stick around to keep the lights on, and I'm glad that we can serve as a message board for people producing amazing content.

In this episode, Andrew and Nick give a report of their showing at the SoCal Regional. As expected, they dominated on the day, proving their mettle again and again and undoubtedly ensuring that a whole new wave of poor IA skirmishers will have PTSD like I did after I playing Nick and Jorgen.

They give a send-off, of sorts, and we can only hope that we will see them again in the future. COME ON FFG GIVE THESE BROTHERS A REASON TO COME BACK.

Heaven help me, I let Ben Huckleberry and Jamal take over the podcast in order to give a report on their excellent showings at the recent Omaha Regional. It was a great way to divide and conquer in our hectic regional schedule, and neither Ben nor Jamal cast too many aspersions on my character during the episode (don't worry, I know where they'll be sleeping at Worlds), so we'll consider it a success.

Enjoy the episode! It was fun to listen to while editing and not have to hear my obnoxious jokes.

Sam ran Spectre at the Utah Regional and acquitted himself admirably, as was completely expected. Listen to his great tournament report and recap of his top eight game vs. someone who cheats like no one's business.

Sam is a big proponent of all-out aggression with Spectre, and I think his success with that style has led to some big meta-shifts in our local community in terms of our approach to playing with and against Spectre.

REGIONAL REPORT!

Aaron Ross ran Spectre (Motivation) at the Utah Regional. He went undefeated in swiss, with one of the strongest strengths-of-schedule among twenty-one players, and ending top four on the day. In that run, Aaron played nothing but Han Rangers ran by JK and Matt and the Box (both in swiss and the cut). Talk about a brutal slog.

In this episode, he recounts his games and discusses his theory for approaching long-distance lists (lose one Spectre, kill them with the rest) and has a lot of great insights for Spectre players, and for those looking to take on Spectre. I know you will enjoy it.

BATTLE REPORTS(S) AND STRATEGY DISCUSSION!

We held our regionals prep tournament today at our local store in Salt Lake City, Utah. Ten players showed up, two of whom were running Spectre, and we had four rounds of swiss. It was a great tournament.

I was able to talk with some of the participants in the tournament. Listeners will recognize Scott, Sam Sweeten, and Robert, and I led off with a discussion with Josh Weight on his Jedi list that he built to take on Spectre. Scott was running VPT, Sam was running Spectre, and Robert was running Scum Pointers. Each of our discussions in couched in the context of matchups; for example, Scott talks about why he thinks that he needs to start running Spectre over Vader.

STRATEGY DISCUSSION.

We have been grinding in our local community and on Vassal to get Spectre figured out. On this night, JK and I played three games back to back to back on Lothal. The first was Fluctuations, the second and third were Blitz. The first match was non-specter (Ahsoka Rangers vs. Vader), but we quickly got down to brass tacks and ground out some games with JK playing Spectre on Blitz.

We share our thoughts on what Spectre players and their opponents need to think about on Lothal, particularly regarding early game positioning and what Rebels can do in order to gain an advantage vs. Spectre Cell.

Happy Thanksgiving!

ITALIAN NATIONALS!

ALL RIGHT FINE I KNOW THAT THERE IS NO RECORD OF GREGORY PECK AND AUDREY HEPBURN GOING TO BOLOGNA FOR ZANY ADVENTURES, BUT THAT IS THE BEST I COULD DO ON SHORT NOTICE.

Fun fact, the University of Bologna is the oldest continually operating university in the western hemisphere. It was founded in 1088, which also coincidentally was the last time that we received news from FFG regarding our beloved game. KIDDING YA NERDS.

In this episode, Greg gives a report on his runner-up placement at Italian Nationals. What really goes down in this episode is we review and comment on the second half of the organized play results from Summer 2018. We have a lot of fun reviewing what has done well and I know you will enjoy it.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO GET ME YOUR ORGANIZED PLAY RESULTS! AND GOOD LUCK AT NOVA!

GENERAL DISCUSSION!

This episode was recorded at the conclusion of a (very small) local store championship that was taken home by me, running the Box, with Scott's Vader, Matt's IG, and Robert Moesinger's Jawa Swarm being the other participants. We had a ton of fun and, as I always say, it's better to be lucky than good.

We don't really talk about the tournament, though. Instead, we spend our time discussing Robert's very creative Jawa Swarm, followed up with a discussion of the Jabba Pointers list archetype that is making the rounds, as well as the contents of Hondo's pack.

I apologize for the background noise. It was recorded on-site, but despite a few noisy nerds nearby, it turned out a-okay.

Again! Let me know if you have any organized play results for the Google Doc, we want all the data we can get:

BATTLE REPORT! (After a SEVEN MINUTE introduction in which I go over news and the community's amazing response to the issue with the list. Feel free to skip me being mushy.)

Collin Hambrick, a relatively new IA player, gives an amazing report of his TOP TWO finish at GenCon. Turns out that Collin is amazing. He ran a Scum Hunter list, without IG, but that didn't stop him. He gives an excellent report on his thoughts on the tournament.

BATTLE REPORT!

Scott brings home a store championship! In this episode, he gives a report on his championship run at Blakfyre Games. Spoiler alert, Vader is amazing, and Scott knows how to maximize his value better than almost anyone. After the report, Scott gives some thoughts on what he thinks Doubt is gonna do to the meta. It is an awesome episode that I know you will love!

When in doubt, call Brett. Which I did. And he provided an excellent elucidation concerning the oncoming meta. Brett is able to pull himself together (unlike me), in order to give a sober appraisal of where he thinks Doubt is going to take us. The sky isn't falling, quite, but it's clear that Rebels are going to have a tough row to hoe for a few months while things are getting figured out.

The salt is kept to a bare minimum, and Brett makes some awesome points regarding what to expect when Lothal drops.

POST-WORLDS META ANALYSIS!

In this episode, JK and I quickly review the results of store champs that we have gotten thus far. We summarize  the winning squads and any interesting lists that happen to crack into the top contention. We cover where we are as of July 21, 2018 (give or take a few stores that haven't been logged yet). If you have any results, please let me know either on the Slack Channel, the forums, or at zionsfinestia@gmail.com.

Here is the document that I've been working on:

LISTBUILDING!

In this episode, Sam and I talk about how to think about making tier two and three figures work. Specifically, we focus on some core concepts of cost, value, and role that will help you in your efforts to get Biv and Saska to the top of the meta (just kidding. We're not miracle workers. BUT MHD ON THE OTHER HAND).

We have a lot of fun, as you can imagine.

YES I KNOW ABOUT THE FFG SPOILER RELEASED TODAY. I AM GETTING BRETT ON FOR AN EMERGENCY EPISODE AS SOON AS I CAN LASSO HIM DOWN.

STORE CHAMPIONSHIP!

This is part two of Zion's Finest's reporting on the first seriously competitive event in our local meta. JK is the champion of Oasis Games in Salt Lake City! LET THE COMPETITIVE SEASON BEGIN! In this episode, JK discusses his list (JABBA?!) and how he was able to take home the prize. JK gives some awesome thoughts on getting the most mileage out of the non-IG Scum lists.

If you have OP results, please let me know either through the Slack Channel or email. I LOVE YOU ALL!

STORE CHAMPIONSHIP REPORT!

This is part one of our inaugural store championship tournament for the 2018 - 2019 season! This episode is a bit of a test format--I have a short introduction with my fellow jank builder Sam Sweeten followed up by short discussions with my first two opponents and then my concluding thoughts. In short, JKL let me down, and I have reasons.

JK, however, took home the prize and gives his summary in the next episode (No. 59). Make sure to listen to that incredible report.

Thank you so much for listening!

EUROS AND USCRU!

In this episode, Isaac "Cajo" Borno joins me on the podcast to report on his showing at Euros. He was running Han Rangers with three rSmugglers, RHC (no R2)m and BotF. He reports on his matches; he made the cut and qcquitted himself admirably.

After his Euros report, I ask him some questions about his thoughts on Han Rangers on Uscru. Isaac gives an amazing breakdown of the matchup vs. IG and Vader.

THERE ARE BLUE BIRDS OVER THE WHITE CLIFFS OF DOVER BECAUSE LOCAL HERO LUKE SYKES IS THE EUROPEAN CHAMPION! And I got him to agree to come on the podcast! Hot dang!

I almost titled this episode "IG is Overrated," because you know how many IGs made top 16 at Euros? Well, not very many, and Luke piloted a no-IG yes-Jabba (?!?!) list to the top!

Luke regales me with his thoughts on his various matchups and how he plays to maximize the efficiency out of straight-up cheap hunters. He has some amazing thoughts on target priority and pace and--spoiler alert--he makes incredible use of Celebration and Price On Their Heads.

If you ever hear typing in the background, it's me summarizing Luke's report--not plotting a takeover of the world (don't worry).

THAT'S RIGHT CLAUSEWITZ, I STOLE YOUR LINE AND I DON'T EVEN CARE. IT'S A STRATEGY EPISODE.

In this episode, I am joined by Ben Varnum to discuss core concepts of risk in IA and how it applies to three major principles of IA: activation economy, pace, and value. It is an awesome episode. Ben is a genius and it shows.

NAL HUTTA MAP BREAKDOWN!

Here's a link to the (very edited) map:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1KGAOIw8qP5TtKAp49mWOjA_kMXAGjP_4/view?usp=sharing

In this episode, Scott, JK, and I gather round the lantern--surrounded by the luminous soft glow of fireflies--to talk about everyone's favorite swamp. No, not the great bayou of Louisianna, but instead Nal Hutta--the home of the Hutts!

We break down the two missions from the perspective of the three different factions. We talk about line-of-sight tricks, deployment, positioning, and pacing your games. We focus on how each faction should expect to count to 40 points on each mission from kills and objectives.

Thanks again to Anthony Reynders for saving Episode 52. He shall be blessed with many blessings.

(FIXED THANKS TO ANTHONY REYNDERS, TO WHOM I OWE A LIFE DEBT. Podbean had some hiccups with the last two episodes. This is the fixed version of Episode 52, with Lucas Davidson.)

STRATEGY!

Take your brain medicine again, friends, because Lucas Davidson is about to break open your minds and spill in the sweet dew of his knowledge.

In this episode, Lucas discusses three core concepts of Imperial Assault: Material, Positioning, and Pace. I have wanted Lucas to come on for a long time to talk about how he wins so many ding dang games, and he absolutely does not disappoint. He uses these concepts to illustrate how to thing about trades, pressure, and counting to 40. It really is so awesome.

(Sorry about the hiccup earlier, everyone, apparently Podbean has a mind of its own.)

STRATEGY AND ANALYSIS!

In this episode, Matt Richards and I discuss the Rebel Care Package (Gideon and C-3PO), the effect that the RCP has on the meta, and if we think FFG is ever going to do something about Gideon bringing the sweet sweet focus to Scum. Alas, it looks like we remain unready for redemption--at least for the foreseeable future.

We also discuss the strategy of focus, how you should think about where your focus goes, and ways to work around the focus.

WORLDS REPORT!

Isaac Borno, from the United Kingdom, was kind enough to offer a battle report from his recent Worlds showing. Isaac has placed well at large tournaments in Europe (winning a regional and placing top 8 at Nationals and another regional) and is part of the Han Ranger wave that seemed to take the UK (and US) by storm. I fully anticipate him to dominate Euros in a few weeks and to take Worlds by storm next year.

Isaac was running Han Rangers with THREE rSmugglers. I know. It's a bit insane. Listen to him tell the tale of his first Worlds showing!

PLEASE FILL OUT OUR SURVEY! I am going to start regularizing, regimenting, and adjusting how we do the podcast in order to reflect and satisfy the capricious whims of those who deign to inform me of their opinions. Please join their ranks:

We few, we happy few, we band of brothers!

I absolutely cannot believe it. We made it to fifty episodes. FIFTY. EPISODES. That is just insane.

In this episode, JK and I talk about what we love about IA, what our strengths and weaknesses are and where we'd like to improve, and where we think IA is going to be in two years. We run the gambit, but I think that everyone will enjoy our running.

Thank you all so much for your support. It means the world to me and there is no way the podcast would have made it this far without the amazing community response. I FREAKING LOVE YOU ALL.

WORLDS REPORT!

In this episode, Joey Galeziewski drops us a line from PHX, the hottest state capitol in the ENTIRE United States. Unsurprisingly, the heat has made him a little mad ... MAD WITH LOVE FOR IMPERIAL ASSAULT! Because Joey is a dedicated Empire player, he took the Worlds most feared leaders to Worlds, and acquitted himself admirably.

Joey took Vader, Palp, x2 eRiots, and an Officer to Worlds. He went 5-2, barely missing the cut. He goes into some serious depth on how to maximize the strength of a list without ANY meaningful ranged shots (except against Greedo that is).
