It’s Episode number 99 and Three’s Company!!! Dane calls Jack Tripper does that makes Kernathan Susanne Sommers? What is the perfect or near-perfect film? He can’t remember… But if we listen to Detective we go from dramatic actors having issues on set to divorce papers to actual boxing and Ufc fights. Eventually, we get around to D23 and Mandalorian’s personal hygiene. Then Dane gives one of the most sentimental BCU moments ever!
JDIV is gone AGAIN and Kernathan let BabyOilBobbie get FULLY LUBRICATED and nobody can wrangle him in. We get an exclusive take on she-hulk from BabyOil (which makes about as much sense). We even get a preview of the new album that drops in 2027 and a bunch of other Information we may or mayn’t need.
Once again we’re running a three man weave! Jon, Dane and Dic James review She-Hulk and push it off a cliff to get to House of the Dragon! Dane uses his Loc-Lasso to take over the show and give us review the BCU has ever seen right in the middle of the news!
The planets are completely out of alignment but the Three uh, negros are still on course. Jon, James and Laf talk She-Hulk For the most part, Hope holds his own with Captain Cynicism and Treadstone’s finest. What were your thoughts on the first episode of She-Hulk? let us know and we can discuss it below. Drop a message telling us your thoughts on She-Hulk. What did you like? What did you hate? What left you wanting answers?
Disclaimer We here at the Black Cinematic Universe are not responsible for any actions of those who can shapeshift or turn invisible but let us know which one you would choose
Who is JaMALL? Why is "JROC" doing the intro? If Rob has notes; why does he have so many questions? Where would you rank PREY among the franchise? What power would you pick between Invisibility (like the invisible man) or Shapeshifting (like Mystique)? (Let us know below)
The act of Baby oil Bobby being the voice of reason more than once due to the incursion of the phantom zone! He's also the voice of the new hotness. Also once again the BCU sets the president as the BCU crystal ball is correct about a new project before it’s been announced!
Who’s the Mt. Rushmore of Hitmen and Assassins? Why is Rob rehearsing for a concert he's not part of? Who’s the black Ryan Gosling? Would you like this singing thing to be a regular BCU occurrence?..... NOPE
We here at the Black Universe Cinematic (BCU for short)... We gotta learn to read, talk, just words in general. Between JDiv mixing Zelda and Final Fantasy to none of us knowing the name of Ghost Rider, to Laf and Daniel Kalhuhaha. We get our words all mixed up! Also we have the most mind-blowing ending in BCU history!
Rob is out but with us in word and heart as we get his actual written rave review of Thor:Love & Thunda. Laf & Captain Kern copilot the quinjet of cynicism out of the airport debacle. Dane dies like a Marvel villain and... darkness has a new name!!!
Rob drops linguistical BOMBS for us to consume and educate us on Atlantis. We even get a math and geography lesson from Baby Oil Bobby himself. Also, he may be developing an unhealthy interest in J.
Dane is back from the Python Challenge but not the one you think it is. We reviewed Spiderhead but that went south when James said something about Jerry Somoleeyay. Also, Kernathan tried to make a point but dragged us into his interdimensional Kernhole.
Also Spoiler Alert!!!
Voltron Assemble… err whatever you call the bottom half. Have you had D’Naff cause if not you’ll get D’Naff today! If you pay close attention you’ll catch the moments when Baby Oil Bobby buffers.
We have to save HandJob Bobby! He has GOAT disease (but it's goat with a "d")... Who knows... Also we get a Masterclass in something about Dracula and Vampires or Durags. Whatever it is once you hear it you'll never be able to unsee it.
And then there were three? Rob and J are on tour as their new Drake & The Weeknd cover duo. Laf agreed with Captian Cynicism then disappeared when we started talking about emotions. James kicks the news to himself and Dane gets caught with someone else’s pants down.
The best shows ever... that got only one season. Plastic Man...Except Leslie Jones. Average and one half... What do all these things have in common? There all the same! but not really but yes.
Laf is back and he's loaded with the criticism as we get his take on a few happenings of his absence. We also revisit some classic TV shows with a BCU spin. Also, Kap disappeared and we can’t find Bobby.
Rob is back! We all feel the shift when Bobby visits from his universe, we lost Laf! None of us can correctly pronounce words, and somehow we reviewed the Sopranos (but I THINK we started with Ozark)... Who even knows, just buckle up!
SPOILER ALERT!!! Let’s talk about STRANGE!!! Bobby is gone and Dane is back. We also get a visit from JDIV… OR is it just J?… Whoever he is he couldn’t give us a solid review of Moon Knoght; meanwhile El-Cap-a-Tan gives us the most negatively positive review of something imaginable. Where is Laf to restore the balance to the Blacktiverse?
Dane is out but Rob is back... If Dane is Marc Spectre then Rob is a figment of outlandish imagination on cocaine (who has probably pretended to be British at some point irl). We also finally get around to reviewing Snowfall (How much money would be enough for you to "Get out the game"? Rob said $1 million... that's it.
Don’t Do Drugs
We reviewed a lot!... There was so much reviewing! We didn't mean to but it happened so much that we caused a rip in the phantom zone! We lost Laf, We still haven’t seen Rob, and we get undeniable proof that James really is a vampire.
Some things are just better left unknown; like where Bobby disappeared. We get into episode 2 of MoonKnight and sit down in WB's boardroom and strategize how to save the DCEU.
We started with three... an occurrence so rare in the BCU it echos in time like Will Smith's hand on Chris Rock's face. James is finally on the fence about something (it's Morbius, so you get it). Then Captain Kernathan swoops in out of nowhere with his most POSITIVE REVIEW EVER!!!
What piece of cinematic brilliance could warrant such praise? Where are Baby Oil Bobby and the Blackest One? Why did James spell his whole name???
Rob gets his news from the Hindu Times (at least he's reading). James inspires us to create a few drinking games. We talk Tom Cruise in the MCU and the first episode of Atlanta. Also, we get the latest snippet from Baby Oil Bobby. Buckle up!!!
Rob watches a trailer with Jon’s words. James and J are out bobbing for streptococcus. The gravitational force of petty has us ranking how many movies are better that No Way Home… (Jon says 10 Dane says 17).
We’re one short today but we wish him all the best with his new job. Speaking of a new job... Somebody call Bumper Robinson and tell him to get ready to play the "gritty street-level" super detective James ("Hope") Gordon in his biopic. Also call Jim Carey... to play Rob???? Yes he really said that.... Yes we’re concerned too.
Hey, do yall know this song? Nana nana nana nana... We'll give you a hint... (He is Vengeance!!! But he used to be Adam West...) Rob thought it was a work of pure Jeen Yuhs; J & Jon, not so much... See what we did there?
Oh yeah HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY OIL BOBBY!!!
TIL that the one and only Detective Jim Gordon is a huge fan of Dr. Now from "My 600lb Life" we even get several surprise visits from the doc himself (but not really). Speaking of surprises, Laf wasn’t here but then he was (live from the H-town) ,and will "The Planet's most Melanated Man" be the most surprised after "The Batman" this weekend?
What are your thoughts on Bel-Air? Is it too much like Fresh Prince or not enough? How are John Cena and coffee cake similar? What about Baby Oil Bobby and Kanye West? Batwoman and Batgirl?? They’re the same right?
That’s the running thread in this whole episode Things that never should have happened. From the hijacking at the beginning to the whole Boba Fett series. We even discuss which celebrity downfall we wish never happened (thanks to Kendyll for the dope question). Also, the song at the end should have never happened either.
Baby Oil Bobby is back... The planets have aligned and the Melanated Men are in full throttle!! We crashed into our review of the upcoming Netflix projects and unfortunately Ozark Szn 4 pt 1 caught some critical shrapnel. We also (unfortunately) get the peculiar, yet more detailed than we needed, story of what happened to Baby Oil Bobby or Rob... or whoever he is...
We couldn’t help ourselves! We’re back in the blackest month of them all! We get caught up on Peacemaker (Laf says it's the best superhero show so far), and Book of Boba Fett. Why does he sleep so much? Where is Rob? Why is Boba Fett being mentioned with President Barak Obama?? Happy Black History Month!!
We’re Baby Oil Bobby-less to close out 2021. But we still have the 2021 BCU Awards!!! Only here can you get a movie to win the "Michael Jai White" award for the best fight scene and also be nominated for Most Overrated by Kaptain Cynicism. Commissioner Gordon gives us his pick for Most Underrated of the year. Who gets this year’s Tony Mack for chasing them checks and why is J yelling about TNT?
It's our final show of 2021!! We’re going out with a BANG! With Kernathan in the phantom zone, we've jumped into the multiverse! SPOILER ALERT!!!! We’re reviewing Spiderman No Way Home and Hawkeye episode 5. We even share some of our least favorite MCU CASTING decisions (although J can’t follow directions and leave Robert Battinson alone) We'll see you all in a few weeks. Meanwhile check out our social media for al the latest updates. Wel love yall see yall in a few weeks!
Rob is back from a successful surgery! We finally have the planets in alignment and we’ve been waiting to review True Story. We also talk Hawkeye and give a hint at our expectations for Spiderman: No Way Home
You heard it here first folks!!! Disney+ will launch its mature audiences section and we have the unofficial name (thanks to the one known as JRoc in the streets)!! D.A.D. Disney+ After Dark! We give you our thoughts on Hawkeye so far and Laf gives us a review of The Last Duel because he’s the one person who watched it.
PS Get well soon Rob it’s HARDLY the same without you!
Don’t drink the Kool-Aid!! First J disappears then we lost Bobby... Kaptain Cynicism and Inspectah Hope are equally optimistic about Hawkeye. We're in some kind of glitch!! Help!!
Happy Thanksgiving from the BCU!!
We’re down one (shout out James and his fice skating competition) but we're CHARGED UP! Why does Dane want smoke with Tyler Perry? Was The Harder They Fall the thing we didn’t know we needed? Spoiler Alert Rob didn’t watch it... Also Actual Spoiler Alert!!!
Uhh Yep!!! That’s what it says and that’s pretty much what happened this week. On the bright side, ALL THE NIGGAS IS BACK and we got Eternals!!! But nothing is normal...Rob's new name is Melvin... Yeah, we did a lot you just have to listen.
We're missing Rob but Dane is back and so is the Kufi!!! Dane does Dune and he liked it?? hated it??? thought it was racist?? What if all the OG Avengers died in Endgame? Jon gives us his fanfiction Thanos love story.
We FO' DEEP IN THE SPACE WHIP!!!! We're riding short today but the Cynicism is heavy and the baby oil is flowing. Laf details his thong escapades and Inspectah still finds a way to like Halloween Kills. Also whatever Rebudnant means...
We’re short Laf (Happy belated btw) but we got plenty of Rob! We know Jon hated the new Halloween Kills movie. What we don’t know, is why does Rob think The Wizard of OZ is a piece of television history and why should we all love it? Also.. we may be witnessing the birth of a new BCU game "What hasn’t James watched?"
That's right smut! From cancel culture and Dave Chappelle to why we couldn't get a good Hawkeye in Marvel’s What if?... finalie. We cover it all! Who's lighter Jon or James? And what really happened to Rob and his LMD? Land with us and find out!
HAPPY B DAY DANE! The B is for Black as in he's the blackest person we know! The glo of blackness was so strong that Jon actually gave TWO SHOWS perfect or near-perfect reviews! But power comes at a cost because we see Inspectah Gordon give some of his lowest reviews yet! How will we restore the balance? Where is Chance Walls?
The Melaninated Men are back in Orbit! Captian Kearn dons the cape! We get a BCU review FIRST!! AND the return of Chance Walls!!!
Jon and Bobby are out, together, AGAIN!! But poor life choices wouldn’t stop Anthony Mackie (Henceforward known as Tony Mack), nor shall they won’t stop us! Speaking of poor choices, wait until you hear about the 13 "Scariest Movies" (the list was lowkey trash). Speaking of trash,... What’s your favorite Tony Mack project?
DON'T DO DRUGS!! We can't stress this enough PLEASE DON'T DO DRUGS!..... So Rob's back... J's gone, but Rob is definitely back. He got in the driver's seat from the passenger side and took us through some unknown glitch in the Matrix. We saw zombies and learned that there are 60 billion people in the world and that 270 billion live in the US alone... Red or Blue pill? Which would you choose?
Also don’t do drugs.
We’re not sure what happened... Rob is away for borrowing dolls and well, J.D.H.D. is in full effect. James DISLIKES something?! We give our Shang Chi reviews and ask ourselves What If?...
Laf may be a thespian but he says he's "not a candyman"... we don’t know what that means but we know he aint one! Rob thinks (and James confirms) there was a rapper named Candyman. "What If..." episode 3 was probably the best we've seen. Jon saw Candyman in an empty theater and thus says movie theaters are dying. Dane wishes he was Teyonah Parris' candyman. Did any of you stand in the mirror and say bloody Mary or... or Candyman?
Wait that’s 5 times!!!
What If.... Rob gets the first introduction (but doesn’t remember) James goes LAST?!?! Kernathan closes the show, J disappears. Rappers are actors and actors are rappers. Dane's still fingering Rob. It seems like Laf is the only steady one. The world is a mess!
MAMA WE MADE IT!!!! 50 shows in the books! 50...anniversaries??? How many millions make up a billion? How many fingers does it take to silence Rob? We tried to explain it (we're not monsters) but logic is not welcome here. Welcome to 50!!!
What’s the best bad guy team never assembled? Do any of us think it's James Gunns Suicide Squad? What happened to James? and for the love of GOD what's the name of that guy from Magic Mike?
Yep... Google that movie. We TRIED to discuss OLD and do a GOAT talk of the best (and worst) Will Smith movies but there was just too much petty to go around. What's a movie that you like less the more you watch it?
Does it matter that we’re only rolling four deep? NOPE! We’re still running strong like Chance Walls! And somebody’s pressing charges against The KING!?!?
Season 2!!!!!! We’re back! Blacker and better than ever! Just in time for Black Widow and Loki! We give our ratings for both and share what we think this means for the MCU going forward. Also, find out the name of the best show on television... according to Rob.
It's the Last One!!! The Season 01 Finale of the BCU is here! This may be the scariest episode yet! Makes sense to talk about our Horror flick G.O.A.T. We get even more Chance Walls and touch on the first episode of LOKI (which was fantastic btw). This past year has been a BLAST Thank you all for rocking with us! See you all in three weeks!
Some things are not what we think they are! What movie or series threw us for a loop? Where is Chance Walls? Why Rob should ALWAYS wear closed-toed shoes. All this and too much more this week!
The Boys are black! After weeks of being out of orbit, the planets have aligned! We get a surprise visit from... Mike Tyson??? At least that’s what he claims. We even get part 2 of the Chance Walls Project!!!
With J and Bobby out Laf and Kernathan have space to cook and cook they shall! What projects should be redone correctly? Should Major studios stop meddling in projects? Why is Jon doing those voices? and who’s pressing charges on Kevin Hart? Touch own with us and find out!
Was Guardians 1&2 better than Civil War and Winter Soldier? Who would we like to see as a new Captain Marvel? And who the heck is Chance Walls?!?!
We lost J but we got Dane back! James delivers the smoothest meat shifts we've ever experienced, and how good was Snowfall and Them?
On Your Left!
What’s that smell? It’s Rob's review of Mortal Kombat. We find out what happened to Dane and, why should Zachary Levi be upset with the Rock?
What is the Answer? or Question er umm... Do we even need the Question if we already have the answer? How good... or bad was Falcon and The Winter Soldier? Oh yeah and the nipple thing.
First off... Our thoughts and prayers out to the loved ones of DMX and Daunte Wright. This week we talk Falcon and The Winter Soldier episode 4 and why Kernathan doesn’t like movies that talk too much or not enough... or both???
Dane's missing, Kearnathan is off the leash in his review of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Inspectah Optimism didn’t like Godzilla vs Kong, and Rob thinks he’s a woman because he’s black... Yes, that’s really what he said.
