Is Your Basement Flooded? Maybe not literally—but what if the stress, anxiety, anger, fear, or exhaustion you're experiencing is a sign that something deeper is happening beneath the surface? Before you can fix what's around you, you may need to deal with what's going on inside you.
In the first message of our Fixer Upper series, we discover why the emotions we ignore often become the problems we can't escape. Jesus didn't come to shame us for what's happening in our hearts. He came to shine light on it so we can experience healing, freedom, and lasting peace.
You'll discover:
• Why your internal struggles affect every relationship in your life
• What Jesus meant when He said, "I am the light of the world"
• How fear, anxiety, jealousy, shame, and anger act as warning signals
• Why your feelings are real—but aren't always telling you the truth
• How to identify the lies driving your emotions
• The first step toward emotional and spiritual health
Whether you're overwhelmed at work, struggling in your marriage, navigating parenting, or simply exhausted from carrying the weight of life, this message offers practical hope. You don't have to pretend everything is fine or ignore what's happening beneath the surface.
Jesus doesn't ask you to hide the mess. He invites you to bring it into His light.
When you learn to test your emotions against the truth of Jesus instead of letting them lead your life, you begin to experience the peace, purpose, and freedom He promises.
This week, ask yourself:
• What am I feeling?
• What assumptions is this feeling creating?
You can trust your feelings to God—but you can't trust your feelings to lead you.

Let's Pray Together | What if one of the most powerful prayers you could pray isn't about your own needs? In this message from Matthew 9:35–38, we discover the surprising prayer Jesus asked His followers to pray—and why it's still one of the most important prayers we can pray today.
We all come to God hoping to see Him move. Maybe you're praying for healing, direction, a breakthrough at work, peace in your family, or hope in the middle of uncertainty. Jesus cares about every one of those prayers. But in this passage, He invites us to pray for something bigger than ourselves.
As Jesus looked at the crowds, He was moved with compassion because they were "confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." Instead of simply telling His disciples to pray for miracles, He told them to pray for more people who would join Him in bringing hope, healing, and the good news of God's Kingdom to others.
In this message, you'll discover:
Why Jesus was moved by compassion for people.
What it means to be "sheep without a shepherd."
The unexpected prayer Jesus asked His disciples to pray.
How God invites ordinary people to be part of His mission.
Why praying for more workers can change your community—and your own heart.
Whether you're exploring faith, walking through a difficult season, or asking God what He has for your next chapter, this message will encourage you to lift your eyes beyond your own circumstances and join in what God is already doing around you.
Bottom Line: Pray to the Lord to send more workers into His fields.

His Big Story is the story every one of us is invited into. It’s easy to believe your life is too ordinary to matter, but what if God is weaving your story into something far bigger than you can see?
In this special message closing our Worth It series, we celebrate how God has been working through Journey Church for more than 21 years—and look ahead to the bigger mission He continues to invite us into. Through stories of life change, Scripture, and a heartfelt farewell to Matt and Jen as they step into a new season of ministry, we're reminded that God's story has always been about reaching people far from Him.
You'll discover:
Why your story matters in God's bigger story
How God uses ordinary people to make an extraordinary impact
What spiritual gifts are really for
Why every act of serving, giving, and inviting matters
How your faith can have a ripple effect far beyond what you can see
No matter where you are in your faith journey, you're invited into something bigger than yourself. The same God who has been faithful in the past is still writing stories of hope, purpose, and transformation today.

Be The Church FOR Everybody | Have you ever felt like church wasn't meant for people like you? Maybe it seemed confusing, exclusive, or designed for people who already had everything figured out. But what if Jesus intended something different?
In this message, we explore a truth that has shaped Journey Church from the very beginning: the church isn't just for church people. The church is FOR everybody.
When the early church began making faith complicated, the leaders gathered to answer a critical question: Should people have to jump through religious hoops to come to God? Their answer changed everything—and it's still changing lives today.
You'll discover:
• Why Jesus came for everybody, not just religious people
• How churches can unintentionally make faith harder than Jesus did
• What Acts 15 teaches about removing barriers to God
• Why the local church should feel like a safe place to explore faith
• How one invitation can change someone's life forever
• What it means to help people take their first steps toward Jesus
Too often, people feel like they're standing at the bottom of a ladder with no way to climb. They want hope. They want purpose. They want to know if God is real and if He cares. But somewhere along the way, religion made it seem more complicated than Jesus intended.
The good news is that Jesus didn't come for insiders. He came for everybody.
Whether you've been following Jesus for years or you're still asking questions about faith, this message is a reminder that God's grace is available to you—and that the church should be a place where anyone can belong before they believe.
Because everybody matters to God, whether God matters to them or not.

The Steps You Take can shape someone else's story more than you realize. Every act of kindness, every invitation, every moment of serving, and every step of faith has the potential to point someone toward the grace of Jesus.
In this message from Ephesians 2:8–10, we discover that following Jesus isn't just about receiving God's grace—it's about living with purpose. You were created by God, uniquely gifted, and designed to make an eternal impact through the good works He prepared for you long before you were born.
You'll discover:
Why you're saved by grace—not by your own efforts
What it means to be God's masterpiece
How God has prepared good works specifically for you
Why your small steps of obedience can have an eternal impact
How serving, inviting, and loving others reflects the heart of Jesus
Every one of us is here today because someone else took a step. Someone invited us, encouraged us, prayed for us, served us, or simply showed us what following Jesus looks like. Now it's our opportunity to do the same for someone else.
Whether your next step is inviting a friend to church, serving on a team, giving generously, or simply loving the people God has placed in your life, don't underestimate what God can do through your obedience. You may never fully know what hangs in the balance of the steps you take.

Why It's Worth It is a question every follower of Jesus eventually asks. When serving feels exhausting, change feels constant, and the mission gets difficult, how do you keep going? In this message, we discover the deeper reason it's worth continuing to invest your life in what God is doing.
The apostle Paul faced challenge after challenge, yet he never lost sight of what motivated him. His answer was simple: "For Christ's love compels us." When you remember what Jesus has done for you, it changes how you live, serve, give, and love others.
In this message from 2 Corinthians 5, you'll discover:
• Why the love of Jesus is our greatest motivation
• What it means to be reconciled to God
• The message of reconciliation Jesus has entrusted to us
• How every believer is called to be an ambassador for Christ
• Why the local church still matters in our communities
• How being Jesus-centered, others-focused, and outward-facing reflects the heart of Jesus
It's easy to make church about what we receive. But lasting purpose is found when we embrace the mission Jesus has given us. As His ambassadors, we carry His message, reflect His character, and represent His mission everywhere we go.
Whether you're serving, giving, inviting a friend, or simply trying to live out your faith in everyday life, this message is a reminder that what you do matters. The mission isn't always easy, but it is always worth it.
Because one day a friend, neighbor, coworker, or family member may begin asking questions about faith—and they'll need a safe place to explore who Jesus is and what it means to follow Him.
Keep representing the purpose and personality of Jesus. Keep loving people. Keep making room for others. Keep moving the mission forward.

Letting Go of Loopholes | Have you ever looked for a loophole? A way to justify what you want, avoid what’s hard, or explain away what you know is right? We all do it—and it impacts our relationships, our choices, and even our faith.
In this message from our Losing Religion series, we explore the powerful new command Jesus gave His followers: “Love one another as I have loved you.” And when you really understand what Jesus meant, it changes everything.
Jesus didn’t come to pile on more religious rules. He came to replace loophole living with a love that’s personal, sacrificial, honest, and transformational.
In this message, you’ll discover:
• Why loopholes slowly damage your faith
• What Jesus meant by “a new command”
• Why love is more demanding than religion
• How loopholes affect honesty, gossip, generosity, and relationships
• Why Jesus followers should be known for love—not religious behavior
• The one question that can guide every decision you make
If you’ve ever tried to justify unhealthy choices…
If faith has felt more about rules than relationships…
If you’ve wondered what Jesus actually wants from you…
…this message will challenge and encourage you.
Jesus reduced all the religious complexity down to one command: love people the way He has loved you. No loopholes. No excuses. Just a better way to live.
Because nobody regrets choosing love the way Jesus defines it.

All Mixed Up | Have you ever wondered if you’re really good with God? Maybe you’ve felt close to Him one moment—and uncertain the next. Maybe faith has started feeling more like pressure, guilt, or performance than a real relationship.
In this message from our Losing Religion series, we explore how many people unknowingly mix old religious thinking with the new way Jesus introduced. And when that happens, faith becomes exhausting, confusing, and easy to walk away from.
Looking at Jesus’ final Passover meal with His disciples, we discover what He meant when He introduced a new covenant—a brand-new relationship with God built on grace instead of fear and performance.
In this message, you’ll discover:
• Why you don’t have to earn God’s approval
• What Jesus meant by “the new covenant”
• Why so many Christians still live with guilt and uncertainty
• How religion pulls people back into performance mode
• Why Jesus’ forgiveness is complete and permanent
• How old covenant thinking still affects modern faith
If you’ve ever felt like you had to prove yourself to God…
If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re doing enough spiritually…
If faith has become heavy instead of freeing…
…this message will help you untangle what’s been all mixed up.
Jesus didn’t come to give you more religious pressure. He came to give you confidence, forgiveness, and a personal relationship with God that isn’t based on your performance.
You don’t have to live uncertain anymore.

Out With the Old | Have you ever felt like you were slowly losing your faith? Maybe not because you wanted to walk away from God—but because disappointment, hurt, doubt, or religious pressure made faith feel exhausting instead of personal.
In this message, we explore why Jesus didn’t come to make religion better—He came to remove the barriers keeping people from a real relationship with Him. Looking at Jesus cleansing the Temple in Mark 11, we discover how religious systems, shame, performance, and fear can quietly disconnect people from God.
If you’ve ever wondered:
• Why church hurt affects your faith so deeply
• Why religion can feel heavy instead of life-giving
• Whether God is disappointed in you
• If doubts and questions mean your faith is weak
• Why Jesus challenged religious leaders so strongly
• How to reconnect with God personally again
…this message is for you.
Jesus confronted the kind of religion that pushed people away from God instead of drawing them closer. He came to remove the pressure to perform, prove yourself, or pretend everything is fine. He came to offer something personal, freeing, and full of grace.
Maybe the thing causing you to lose faith is actually something Jesus wants you to lose.
This message kicks off our brand-new series, Losing Religion, where we’ll discover the better way Jesus introduced—and why you don’t have to walk away from faith to leave unhealthy religion behind.

In Luke 23, Jesus does the unthinkable. While suffering on the cross, He forgives the very people who mocked, rejected, and crucified Him. His followers watched Him live out everything He had ever taught about mercy, love, and forgiveness—even in His final moments.
The same invitation is in front of you.
Sometimes the biggest breakthrough in your faith is not learning more about Jesus, but finally taking a step to follow Him. Admiring Him from a distance may inspire you, but following Him changes your life from the inside out.
You’ll discover:
Why so many people stop at admiration instead of obedience
How Jesus proved He is worth following through the cross
What it means to move from inspiration to action
Why following Jesus starts with small, practical steps
How obedience unlocks peace, trust, and transformation
This message is for anyone who has been circling faith, wrestling with doubts, attending church without engagement, or feeling stuck between belief and surrender.
What if the life you admire in Jesus only becomes real when you begin to follow Him? The step you’ve been avoiding may be the very place where His peace, strength, and presence become personal.

What If They’re Not Bad… Just Lost? is for the moment when frustration, judgment, or self-righteousness begins to shape the way you see the people around you. In Luke 15, Jesus tells the stories of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son to completely redefine how God views people—not as good or bad, but as lost or found.
The same shift can happen in you.
Sometimes the biggest breakthrough in your faith is not changing someone else—it’s allowing Jesus to change the way you see them. The people you’re most tempted to write off may be the very people the Father is still pursuing with compassion, grace, and hope.
You’ll discover:
Why self-righteousness quietly pushes people away
How Jesus reveals the Father’s heart for lost people
What Luke 15 teaches about grace, compassion, and celebration
Why seeing people as lost or found changes how you respond
How your love and patience can help someone take a step toward home
This message is for anyone wrestling with difficult relationships, resentment, church hurt, family tension, parenting frustration, or the temptation to label people by their worst decisions.
What if the people around you aren’t problems to fix, but people the Father deeply values? When you begin to see people the way Jesus does, your response can become part of how they find their way home.

Which Way Will We Walk? That question sits at the center of one of Jesus’ most well known stories—the Good Samaritan. In a world full of division, opinions, and “us vs. them,” Jesus offers a completely different path—one that challenges how you see people and how you choose to live.
In Luke 10:25–37, Jesus is asked a simple question: “Who is my neighbor?” But instead of giving a simple answer, He tells a story that disrupts assumptions and removes every excuse we tend to make. Because for Jesus, love isn’t limited to people like you—it extends to anyone in need.
This message explores what it really means to follow Jesus in everyday life—not just in belief, but in action. Because love for God is demonstrated by love for others.
You’ll discover:
• Why we naturally look for “wiggle room” in loving others
• How Jesus redefines who your neighbor actually is
• What the Good Samaritan teaches about real compassion
• Why faith can feel stale when it’s not lived out
• How stepping into action can bring your faith back to life
It’s easy to agree with Jesus. It’s harder to actually follow Him. But the invitation is clear: “Go and do likewise.”
If your faith feels stuck, distant, or just routine, this message will challenge you to step into something more real, more active, and more alive. Because the way of Jesus isn’t just something you believe—it’s a path you walk.

One Step From Jesus is for the moment when you know Jesus is inviting you forward—but the next step feels inconvenient, uncertain, or even unreasonable. In Luke 5, Peter had every reason to say no. He was tired, frustrated, and done for the day. But one small step of obedience opened the door to an encounter that changed his life forever.
The same is true for you.
Sometimes the biggest breakthroughs in your faith are only one step from Jesus—one decision to trust, one act of obedience, one uncomfortable yes. You may not be able to predict what hangs in the balance of that step, but your willingness to trust Him can become the turning point in your story.
You’ll discover:
Why Jesus often meets you in ordinary, everyday moments
How one simple act of obedience can deepen your faith
What Peter’s story teaches about trust when life feels uncertain
Why your next step may matter more than you think
How God’s faithfulness meets your willingness to move
This message is for anyone who has been hesitating on a next step with Jesus. Maybe it’s forgiveness, asking honest questions, changing priorities, trusting Him with your relationships, or finally surrendering an area of your life you’ve kept closed off.
What feels like a small step today may be the beginning of something far bigger than you can see. Because when your faith takes one step toward Jesus, His faithfulness meets you there in ways you never expected.

The Best Kind of Faith starts with a question that gets personal fast: If your life is a commercial, what are you advertising? This message invites you to move beyond a faith that only believes and into the kind of faith that actually does what Jesus says.
If your spiritual life has felt stagnant, routine, or disconnected, this message from Luke 3 will help you rediscover what real faith looks like. Through the bold words of John the Baptist, we see that the best kind of faith isn’t performative, comfortable, or checkbox religion—it’s active, practical, and lived out in the way you love people every day.
You’ll discover:
Why belief is the starting line, not the finish line
How real faith shows up in practical love and generosity
What keeps your faith from becoming stagnant or lifeless
Why deep faith is built through deep actions, not just deep teaching
The one prayer that can change how you follow Jesus this week
This message is for anyone who’s been asking, “Why does my faith feel stuck?” or “How do I actually grow?” The answer may be simpler—and more challenging—than you think: ask God, “What should I do?” and then follow through.
Because the best kind of faith is not the version that asks, “What’s in it for me?” It’s the kind that trusts Jesus enough to obey, even when it’s uncomfortable. That’s where growth happens. That’s where you encounter God. And that’s the kind of faith that changes the world.

How Did We Get The Bible | If you’ve ever wondered where the Bible came from—or whether Christianity really depends on “because the Bible says so”—this message helps you start in the right place: with Jesus.
In this episode of Discovering Jesus, we explore the question behind so many doubts: How did we get the Bible, and can it really be trusted?
The answer begins with an event, not a book.
Before there was a Bible, there was the resurrection of Jesus. That moment launched a movement that changed history. Eyewitnesses wrote down what they saw, Luke carefully investigated their accounts, and centuries later those trusted first-century documents were compiled into the Bible we have today.
This message will help you see:
How the resurrection led to the church and eventually the Bible
Why Luke’s Gospel is a carefully investigated historical account
Why Christianity rises and falls on Jesus, not blind faith in a book
How doubts can lead you deeper instead of pushing you away
Why faith is discoverable, examinable, and investigable
What it means to start your search for truth with Jesus
If shallow answers have left you frustrated, this message gives you a better place to begin. Your faith doesn’t have to rest on “just believe harder.” It can begin with evidence, history, eyewitnesses, and the person of Jesus.
So if you’ve ever asked How Did We Get The Bible, this conversation will help you understand why the Bible exists in the first place—and why Jesus is the reason we have it.

Does Easter Make Any Difference? If you’ve ever wondered whether the resurrection actually changes anything in your real, everyday life—you’re not alone.
Maybe you’ve asked the honest question: Is it even true? And even if it is… what difference does it make when the world feels unstable and your life feels uncertain?
Over the last few years, it’s felt like crisis stacked on crisis—pandemic, financial pressure, division, loss, anxiety about the future. And on top of that, maybe you’ve faced personal loss, broken relationships, lost dreams, or questions you can’t shake.
So who really needs Easter?
In this message, we look at the story of Thomas—often called “Doubting Thomas.” But maybe he wasn’t doubting. Maybe he was just honest. He needed to see for himself. And when he came face-to-face with the risen Jesus, everything changed.
You’ll discover:
• Why doubt doesn’t disqualify you
• What the resurrection means in uncertain times
• How Jesus brings peace in the middle of chaos
• Why Easter proves you don’t have to face life alone
• How you can trade unbelief for belief
When Jesus appeared to His friends in the middle of their fear, His first words were simple: “Peace be with you.”
That’s still His message today.
If Easter is true, then Jesus is who He said He is.
If Easter is true, you can trust what He promised.
If Easter is true, you are not alone in your uncertainty.
Life is uncertain. Jesus is not. Easter proves it.
If you’re curious, skeptical, hopeful, or hanging on by a thread—this message is for you. Take a moment to consider what it would look like to let Jesus become personal to you.

How to remain hopeful when life feels like it’s falling apart? How to remain hopeful when what you trusted doesn’t hold—and everything feels more fragile than you expected?
In Part 3 of When The World Breaks, we wrestle with a question that hits close to home: how do you maintain hope in a hopelessly broken world?
At some point, all of us experience the moment when the “wall” we leaned our life against starts to crumble. A relationship doesn’t last. A career doesn’t fulfill. A dream slips through your hands. And you’re left wondering… what now?
This message helps you understand why that happens—and where real hope is actually found.
You’ll discover:
Why the world feels more broken than we expected
The “ladder and wall” picture that explains misplaced hope
Why even good things can let you down
What Romans 8 reveals about suffering and frustration
How to anchor your hope in something that won’t collapse
What it means that God is truly FOR you
This isn’t about pretending everything is okay. It’s about finding a kind of hope that doesn’t disappear when life gets hard.
Because the truth is—everything in this world can shift. But there is a love that never will.

Can God Change Me Even When Nothing Else Is Changing? You’ve prayed. You’ve asked. You’ve hoped. But the job didn’t come through. The diagnosis didn’t change. The relationship is still strained. And now you’re wondering if God is absent—or if He’s just silent.
In Philippians 4:4–7, the apostle Paul writes about joy and peace while sitting under house arrest, waiting to stand trial before Emperor Nero. His circumstances weren’t improving. If anything, they were getting worse. Yet he says, “Rejoice… Do not be anxious… Pray with thanksgiving.”
How is that possible?
This message is for anyone who feels stuck in uncertainty. For the person lying awake at night. For the parent worried about finances. For the one grieving, waiting, or quietly falling apart on the inside.
You’ll discover:
• What Paul really meant by “Rejoice in the Lord always”
• Why anxiety isn’t something you ignore—but something you redirect
• How prayer exposes what’s really driving your fear
• What it means for the peace of God to “guard” your heart and mind
• Why sometimes God doesn’t change your situation—but He changes you
This isn’t about pretending everything is fine. It’s not about denying fear or shaming doubt. It’s about learning to pray until the peace comes.
Because sometimes God calms the storm.
And sometimes He steadies you in the middle of it.
If you’ve ever prayed and nothing changed, maybe the better question is: What if God wants to change something in you?
Try this prayer this week:
“Heavenly Father, I need ______, and I’m afraid that if I don’t get it, ______.”
Then keep praying. Not until the circumstances change—but until the peace comes.

God is FOR you. And so are we.
When the World Breaks is the question we all ask when life feels dark and uncertain. Is God still working when everything feels unstable? When prayers seem unanswered? When the future feels unclear?
In this message from Mark 14:17–29, we look at one of the most uncertain moments in history—the night before Jesus’ arrest. His closest followers were anxious, confused, and afraid. Betrayal was coming. Suffering was near. The future felt dark. And yet Jesus was calm, purposeful, and confident.
Why?
Because when life is uncertain, God is not.
In this message, you’ll discover:
Why uncertainty often makes us doubt God’s love
What the Last Supper reveals about God’s faithfulness in dark moments
How to trust God when you can’t see what He’s doing
Why God is still active even when there’s no visible evidence
Two practical steps to strengthen your faith during uncertain seasons
If you’re facing anxiety about your future, your family, your health, your job, your marriage, or the state of the world—this message is for you. The Bible doesn’t ignore uncertainty. It meets it head-on. And it reminds us that even when everything feels fragile, God is steady.
You may not see what He’s doing right now.
But that doesn’t mean He isn’t working.
👉 Next Step This Week:
Listen to someone else’s story of God’s faithfulness.
Make a list of times you now see God was working—even when you couldn’t at the time.
When life is uncertain, God is not.

God is FOR you. And so are we.
The Simple Plan to Financial Freedom isn’t complicated—but it does require a shift in how you think about money. Many people keep repeating the same financial mistakes and wonder why nothing ever changes. Pain without progress leaves you stuck.
In Part 2 of our Unlost series, we talk about why people don’t learn from financial mistakes and how God provides a clear, practical framework to help you get unlost financially. Being lost financially isn’t just about debt—it’s about direction. And without a plan, it’s easy to end up right back where you started.
In this message, you’ll discover:
Why we keep repeating the same money mistakes
How thinking like a manager (not an owner) changes everything
Why tracking your spending brings clarity and control
How bad debt limits your freedom and options
The simple plan to financial freedom Jesus taught: give, save, then live
This isn’t about guilt or pressure.
It’s about learning from the past so you don’t relive it.
And it’s about creating a future where money no longer controls your peace, purpose, or priorities.
👉 Next step: As you watch, identify one financial habit you need to change. Don’t waste the pain you’ve already been through—use it to move toward freedom.

God is FOR you. And so are we.
Why Jesus Talks So Much About Money may feel uncomfortable—but it’s not because He wants something from you. It’s because He wants something for you. Many people don’t realize they’re lost financially until the stress, anxiety, and pressure start shaping every part of life.
In this message, we kick off a new series called Unlost by addressing one of the most personal and powerful areas Jesus spoke about: money. You can be confident and still be lost. You can look successful and still be lost. And you can’t fully follow Jesus and be lost financially.
You’ll discover:
Why Jesus talks so much about money and the heart
How money quietly competes for control of your life
What it really means to be lost financially
Why financial stress impacts relationships, peace, and purpose
How surrender—not shame—is the path to freedom
This isn’t about asking for your money.
It’s about helping you find peace, clarity, and freedom in an area that causes stress for so many people. When you see money the way Jesus sees it, your entire life gets better—and you get better at life.
👉 Next step: As you listen, honestly evaluate your finances. Are you lost financially in ways you’ve ignored or avoided? Awareness is the first step toward becoming unlost.

Intentionality Creates Deeper Connection in relationships, even when life feels busy, overwhelming, and out of control. Many of us want deeper relationships, but our calendars, commitments, and priorities quietly work against what matters most.
In Part 3 of the series The Things Nobody Tells You About Relationships, we explore why deep connection doesn’t happen accidentally—and why intentional rhythms are the key to building meaningful relationships with the people you love most. Jesus modeled a way of life that protected time, energy, and focus for what truly matters.
You’ll discover:
Why intentionality creates deeper connection over time
How busyness and “good opportunities” can crowd out what matters most
What intentional rhythms actually look like in real life
Why saying no is sometimes the most loving choice
Practical steps to align your calendar with your values
If you’ve ever felt stretched thin, disconnected, or frustrated by how fast life moves, this message offers a better way forward. Deeper relationships don’t come from doing more—they come from choosing wisely and living intentionally.
👉 Next step: This week, take a simple time audit or have an honest conversation about priorities. Identify one rhythm you can protect to create deeper connection with the people who matter most.

Vulnerability Creates Deeper Connection in relationships—even though it often feels uncomfortable, risky, or awkward. Many of us want deeper relationships, but we avoid the very thing that makes them possible: honest vulnerability.
Generosity Creates Deeper Connection in relationships—but not in the way most of us think. When life feels busy and overwhelming, we often try to create connection through gifts, trips, or special moments. But those things don’t always deliver the closeness we’re hoping for.
You’ll discover:
Why generosity creates deeper connection than gifts or experiences
How giving yourself matters more than giving things
Why love always expresses itself through generosity
How Jesus modeled deep connection by laying down His life
Practical ways generosity can transform your marriage, family, and friendships
If you’ve ever felt disconnected from the people you love—even while trying really hard—this message offers a better way forward. Deep connection isn’t about doing more. It’s about giving differently.
👉 Next step: This week, ask yourself what it would look like to give generously of yourself—your time, attention, or energy—to someone you love. Small, intentional acts can create deeper connection than you imagine.

We are lonely people – we have more technology, more social connections, more teamwork at our jobs than at any other time in history of the world, and we often still feel like we are alone. What’s going on? What’s missing?

We underestimate the degree of influence we have on the development of the character and values and decisions of the kids and students around us. We often aren't sure how to teach the next generation everything they need to know to face the challenges of their future, but there is something foundational that makes a huge difference. The way we live, the values that drive our lives, and the faith we exhibit through our own challenges is the greatest thing we can do to show them a faith worth following.

They follow Jesus because something happens that shrinks their questions, and that something is always up close and personal.

When Jesus died, hope died along with him. No one was planning to keep this new movement going, because, after all, it seemed Jesus wasn’t who he had claimed to be. Immediately following the crucifixion, there were no Christians, because there was no Christ. But then something happened.
The last 365 days have been unlike anything we’ve ever experienced before. While we’re all ready for better days, it would be unwise to move forward without first looking back and internalizing the lessons that are worth carrying with us into the future.

Does the church still matter? If the message of Jesus is true, then the value of the church in our local communities matters deeply. And at the core of that message is the powerful idea that everyone matters.
Relationships are not easy. But the quality of our lives depends on the quality of our relationships, so maybe it’s time to start rewriting the rules. Even though it’s hard, maybe it’s worth figuring out.

During times of crisis, there is something Christians should be doing above anything else. Doing this won’t answer why bad things happen, but it will demonstrate where our hope lies.

If your main goal is your kid's obedience, you're settling for something less than and you're setting yourself up to have anger stirred up regularly. Instead of obedience being the objective, there's a long-term target that will go a long way toward winning as a parent.
When our kids mess up, our tendency is to take something away from them. However, punishment shouldn't be the end goal of discipline. Restoration should be.
Moms and dads dream of a future where their kids become adults and still want to come home regularly to visit. As parents, there’s something we can do to lay the foundation for that dream to become a reality.
Ideal can seem out of reach, and it sometimes feels easier to put it out of sight. Part of being a parent is to point our children toward the ideal, while at the same time navigating what is real.
When pain, difficulties, and disappointments hit, American Christians ask predictable questions. But they’re not practical or helpful questions. What questions should we ask?
Your past is a problem when it creates fear for your future. It limits your potential and gets in the way of a deeper relationship with God. So what’s it take to release the past?
As a society, we’re more anxious now than we’ve ever been. It’s slowing us down and keeping us from operating at our full potential. But what can we do? How do we overcome anxiety?

People sometimes use religion to justify positions, especially around social and political topics. But Christianity was never intended to try and win arguments. In fact, it’s just the opposite.
We’re proud to be Americans, and we’re grateful for our freedom. But American freedom is freedom centered on me and my rights. Jesus introduced a higher use of freedom He calls His followers to practice.
We shouldn’t be known for our political beliefs. The unity and diversity of the early church shocked and intrigued the ancient world. Ours should as well.
Your favorite candidate will win or lose based on how our country votes this November. However, the church will win or lose based on our behavior between now and then.
Everybody has an opinion about what God is like, but how do we really know? Two thousand years ago, Jesus actually invited us to help clear up the confusion. In this message, we’ll learn how to be a part, because it’s needed now more than ever.

Hectic. Frantic. Busy. Hurried. These are the words that have described our schedules. Then the pandemic hit, and many of us discovered the richness and peace of a slower pace. We can’t lose what we learned as life returns to “normal”.
Stressful circumstances can teach us some valuable financial lessons. During this season, you’ve wished you had made some different choices with your money. Moving forward, you can do what you wish you’d done and be better for it next time.
Worry is a clue to what we care about most. It reveals who we trust and what we value. Instead of coping with unhealthy emotions with unhealthy behaviors, we can learn to eliminate worry and live at peace.
What have you been doing that almost led to your undoing? We all want to make change in the middle of the pain, but it’s human nature to return to bad habits once the pain from the bad habits is gone. Instead, what if this time you could be better for it?
When we realize the truth about who we are in Jesus, we begin to make a real impact on the people and world around us. The identity, value, and worth that Jesus gives us is the very foundation that gives us the power to love and serve everyone, even in the face of challenges, difficulty, and temptation.
The public comments God the Father made at Jesus’ baptism sends a clear message to us about who we are and how much we are worth. Our core identity, the thing that informs our value and worth, is our connection to Jesus.
We would all agree that a person’s value and worth isn’t based on the kind of job they have, the prominence of their friends and family, their level of wealth, or how productive or efficient they are. When it comes to how we think about ourselves, we often judge our own value and worth by these very things. Jesus challenges us to consider that we could be losing ourselves.
Becoming a Christian is easy. It won't cost you anything. But Jesus never invited anyone to become a Christian. He invites us to follow, and following is what will make our communities better.
We all know we should forgive. In most cases, we want to forgive. But how? The secret to forgiveness isn’t determination. It’s not powering through. Instead, the secret is found in cooperation.
Anyone ever told you just to forgive and get over something? It’s not that simple, is it? But do you know why you resist forgiveness? What if your struggle to forgive has more to do with fighting your duty than what’s been done to you?
Do you know anyone who’s easily offended? It doesn’t take much to upset people these days, but small offenses distract you from what matters most. How do you let it go and live for a bigger purpose?
All religions point to three things: you ought to…you didn’t…you’ll pay. Religion is all aboutfollowing the rules, but Jesus had something different in mind. He calls us to follow him not a list of rules. It’s as simple as paying attention and staying in step.
If we don’t have to be controlled by sin and temptation, how do we live that out? Living as a slave to sin takes no effort on our part. But what does it look like to live without sin controlling our mouths, our eyes, our minds, our insecurities, our appetites?
We all want to do what's right all the time, but sometimes we end up doing what we don't want to do. It seems unavoidable. So what do you do when you just can't seem to do what you know you ought to do? A gentleman in the New Testament had this problem, but fortunately he also found the solution.
It's difficult to solve a problem when you don't understand what's wrong to begin with. Many of us have been trying to solve the problem of "us" for a long time. But what if the real problem is that you don't know what the problem is?
There is an assumption that good things happen to good people, and bad things happen to sinners. But clinging to that myth will cause your faith to eventually fall apart. Instead, we’re invited to cling to the paradox at the heart of Christianity.
We’ve heard amazing stories of answered prayer, but our prayers aren’t always answered the way we want. What about the times when they seem to go unheard? What do we do when God says no? Does it take more faith to endure a no from God than to receive a yes?
Does God promise us good health? Fame and fortune? If faith is believing that God will do what he promised., then what has God really promised us?
If things are going well with you and God, does that mean you have a lot of faith? If things are not going well, does that mean you don’t have enough faith? What if the object of our faith is much more important than the amount of faith we have?
What is faith? How does it work? If your prayers aren’t answered, is it because you didn’t have enough faith? Does your faith waver depending on your circumstances? Your faith is resting against something. What’s the foundation of yours?
Easter isn’t religious. It’s historical. How can anyone believe in Jesus’ resurrection? Glad you asked. A small group of first century women hold the answer for us all.
Once upon a time, Jesus stood against the injustice of the Roman empire and the hypocrisy of religious leaders. He changed the course of human history. His early followers followed His path. Now we’re writing our story. What will people say about us?
How do you not act in fear when there’s plenty to be afraid of? The early followers of Jesus modeled a faith characterized by fearlessness, humility, generosity, and love. Imagine how different our world would be if Christians today lived the same way.
It's difficult to solve a problem when you don't understand what's wrong to begin with. Many of us have been trying to solve the problem of "us" for a long time. But what if the real problem is that you don't know what the problem is?
How can the person to whom a woman gave her deepest vow become the person she despises most? How can the beautiful woman a man couldn't stay away from become the person he can't stand to be around? You can’t fix the problem until you expose the root cause.
What's different about people who stay in love? What is their secret…their magic formula? They've learned love’s biggest secret and it’s showed them how to stay in love happy together forever.
Do you remember what it felt like to fall in love? What happens to those feelings? Falling in love comes naturally but staying in love requires a plan. While many couples just endure their marriages, in this message we discover the blueprint for maintaining, and even growing, those feelings over time.
It's never been easier to fall in love and never been harder to stay in love. Is it even possible for two people to be happy together forever? Yes. Over 2,000 years ago, Jesus and the Apostle Paul gave us the plan for enduring love.
We all know what it’s like to want something but feel the tension that it’s just not right. At times, we ignore the tug of our consciences and sell ourselves on a questionable decision. In this message, we’ll see how King David found himself in such a position and how his example can help us navigate our own dilemmas.
We all have internal stories we tell ourselves. But when those narratives are not true, they lead to destructive thoughts and behaviors. We can choose to carry around false but comfortable narratives or we can look to destroy them. In this message, we’ll learn how to break free from the narratives that hold us back.
We all face fears from the unknown, uncertain, and unexpected circumstances of life. What we do in those moments can make our lives better or lead us to be our own worst enemy. In this message, we’ll learn from a Jewish leader who teaches us how to develop the habit of paying attention to our fears.
What would happen if you were willing and available to God? David Rose knows, because he chose to try it. Listen to this interview as David shares how God’s using him to experience and share a better life with those around him.
What drives your life? Jesus invites you to live a life driven by God's purpose. Do you feel unqualified to live that way? In this message, we discover that we might just be perfectly unqualified to be used by God. After all, unqualified people are all He ever uses.
God’s grace to us is an invitation to be amazing. It’s our chance to extend to others what God has freely extended to us. But while most of us are full of something . . . it’s usually not grace. So what are you full of? And what would it take for you to give someone what they don’t expect? Or deserve?
When it comes to grace, we resist the idea because it doesn’t seem fair. Why? Because we compare. But grace doesn’t compare, and it isn’t fair. It’s way better than that!
We believe everyone should want Christianity to be true. Why? Because at the core of Christianity is a simple, powerful idea that is the unsettling solution to just about everything. Like life, this concept isn’t fair but it’s full of hope.
We all struggle with loving others at times, but it’s not just because we’re busy or people are difficult. It’s because we struggle loving the person we know best. Learning to do that makes all the difference.
Why should we be for people? Because everyone matters to God, whether God matters to them or not. So people who love Jesus should love people even if they can’t or won’t do anything for them in return.
What should a church be known for? We’re often known for what we’re against, but Jesus and His early followers challenge us to be famous for something far more important – our compassion, generosity, and love.
What makes a church unique? One of the distinguishing characteristics is what they do with what they have. In this message, you’re invited to step out of the cycle of accumulation and live a better kind of life.
How do you make sure you’re not making yourself the purpose of your life? What are the habits and practices you build into your life to make sure you’re not only involved in things that make your life better, easier, that build your personal wealth, health, and authority? Paul's letter to the Roman church strongly recommends serving as the habit that not only adds value to the people around you, but it brings your life a greater purpose.
Confession is one of the most misunderstood spiritual habits, and that keeps us from experiencing the benefits. Rather than wallowing in guilt and shame and making confession a destructive practice, many writers from the Bible explain how confession is the way to find joy, peace, and confidence in the forgiveness God offers us.
In an information age, our bias is to make our spiritual pursuits about what we know or about the exchange of ideas. We don't pursue relationships primarily through information, and we can't treat our relationship with God any differently. If anything besides knowing God becomes the focus of our spiritual habits, we miss out on the true purpose of our lives.
Spiritual disciplines are not magical; they are practical. They’re not a formula; they’re relational. So many people miss the point of developing spiritual habits, but because of what Jesus said about himself, we cannot take our spiritual habits lightly. Spiritual habits are all about keeping us connected to Jesus.
Many people treat Christianity like a list of rules to follow. What if we’ve gotten it backwards? What if doing what Jesus says is what we most want to do? In this message, we’ll discover what makes obedience something we do willingly.
Jesus claimed to be the only way to God, but that doesn’t seem fair. If you’re good, then shouldn’t you be good with God? That’s what most assume, but maybe that’s not as fair as we think.
Believing in Jesus isn’t about blind faith. It’s about trust. That’s the foundation for a relationship with God, and the great news is this. You can give Jesus your trust, and then let Him prove He’s trustworthy.
Do you have questions or doubts about who Jesus is? Wonder if He’s worth trusting? Jesus isn’t offended by that. He actually invites you to come and see for yourself, because you can follow and not believe. You can explore and not be sure.
