About Caroline Adams Miller, MAPP For three decades, Caroline has been a pioneer with her groundbreaking work in the areas of goal setting, grit, happiness and success. She is recognized as one of the world’s leading positive psychology experts on this research and how it can be applied to one’s life for maximum transformation, flourishing and growth. Caroline helps people identify, come up with a plan for, and persist in pursuing their toughest goals — leading to their success, happiness and flourishing, while inspiring those around them.
Achieving hard, meaningful goals is one of the most rewarding things we can do in both our personal and professional lives. Although she didn’t have a word for it at the time, Caroline used "grit" and a resilient mindset to help overcome her personal battle with bulimia, which propelled her into the spotlight when her autobiography, My Name is Caroline (Doubleday 1988), became the first recovery memoir to offer hope to eating disorder sufferers who didn’t know recovery was possible. Today, she helps others develop the traits they need to get to the finish line.
Angela Duckworth, winner of the 2013 MacArthur Genius grant for her research on grit, said of Caroline:
“I don't know anybody who has thought more than [Caroline] about
how to apply the scientific research on grit and achievement to our own lives!
Angela Duckworth
Caroline is the author of seven books, including the bestselling My Name is Caroline (Doubleday 1988), which was an Alternate Selection of the Literary Guild, and Positively Caroline (Cogent 2013), its sequel. Creating Your Best Life (Sterling 2009/2021), is the first mass market self-help book on the science of happiness and how it intersects with the science of accomplishing goals. It is popular in the mass market and is also used as a textbook in numerous coaching and Positive Psychology classes around the world. The “father of Positive Psychology,” Martin Seligman, lauded Caroline’s scholarship in his book Flourish, noting that she had “added a major missing piece to the world of coaching” because of her ground-breaking and evidence-based connection between Positive Psychology and success.
Her workbook, Your Happiest Life, is a four-week guide to help users learn how to set and accomplish goals in a step-by-step way through science-based activities and proven techniques. Getting Grit (Sounds True 2017) discusses why the character strength grit is so important to a flourishing life, who has it, and how to cultivate, amplify, and teach it. Her newest book, #I have your Back Success Groups (2021) is a how-to guide for women on how to create and benefit from a mastermind group. Live Happy Magazine named Creating Your Best Life one of the top 10 goal setting books ever published and Getting Grit one of the 10 books that would change your life in 2017. Caroline’s books have been translated into German, Korean, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese and Italian. Caroline has been a chapter contributor to a number of books including Full Lives, Thriving Women, Thriving World and a French psychology textbook.

Do you have an effective sales strategy for your business?
Social science tells the sales profession is often viewed with a negative stereotype. Because of this, many leaders may shy away from the sales process. But, if we reframe our understanding of sales and it’s true meaning, we discover how integral it is to embodying our purpose. We discuss all this and more with this week's podcast guest, Catherine Brown.
Catherine is a 25+ year veteran of B2B selling and launched her first sales consulting
firm in 2003. She now runs the sales training firm, ExtraBold Sales, where she coaches others to sell with confidence. Her sales strategy includes psychology research that gets at the heart of why people don’t sell effectively. In her new book, How Good Humans Sell: The Proven Path to B2B Sales Success, she combines best sales practices with social psychology principles.
Catherine lives in Texas with her family and she enjoys reading, planning her next globetrotting adventure, watching sci-fi, and
hosting dinner parties. She has a BA from Rice University and is a StoryBrand Certified Guide.
In this episode, Catherine shares the psychology behind sales, and how to view it as a rewarding aspect of your business. We share how to overcome our inner story of resistance or discomfort when selling, how to embody your sales strategy with a sense of purpose and meaning, and how to reframe your relationship with sales to get to the heart of what it is you are selling. Remember, people not only buy what you sell, but how it makes them feel.

We talk about the urgent need for organizations and leaders to address subtle biases, how to create a culture that treats all individuals with civility and respect, the difficulty of truly being "in the feet" of another person versus being in their shoes and share tips on respectful everyday interactions such as meeting invitations and break room conversations.

Let's get nerdy for a moment: Brain science tells us that humans make decisions in our limbic brain (our feeling brain), and then we validate and justify those decisions in our cortex (our thinking brain).
If this is true, why do we over-index on sharing facts and figures as leaders?
Today, we have Gabrielle Dolan with us to unpack the importance of stories and hone our skill as storytellers.
Storytelling gets a lot of attention in marketing, and yet, as leaders, we consistently miss out on the power of stories as a way to create understanding, inspiration, and alignment.
Why?
We'll share our hypothesis and dig into the elements of stories that create traction with our company values, goals, and purpose.
You'll love the "touch the wall" story Gabrielle shares to illustrate the power of stories in the wild.

How comfortable are you with radical candor?
As promised, this week, Katie and I get real about radical candor.
We started this conversation in episode #112: Radical Candor & What People Really Think, but today, you'll get an inside look into our own experience, learning, and practice with radical candor.
Radical candor asks us to practice the intersection of caring deeply and challenging directly.
And truthfully, we don't talk to many people who feel skilled at finding and holding that intersection.
We'll share why and give tips on how to build this skill. We'll also end with an experiment that we can all run in our lives as a way to practice.
And maybe someday, radically candid conversations won't feel so radical.

Do you remember your first "real job"?
I do. I started with a global consulting company less than 30 days after graduating from college. I was over the moon excited, slightly petrified, and generally curious about this thing called work.
The stories from my first year are still some of the most memorable of my career. (And worthy of their own podcast episode which would definitely fall squarely in the comedy category).
Today, we're hearing snippets from a group of young professionals, and as a leader, I'm not sure if I want to laugh or cry. Maybe both. And while we might chalk it up to the angst of transitioning from student to adult, there's something here for us to digest.
Whatever emotions we want to prescribe to it, employees are not having an inspiring experience and their collective "great resignation" is proof positive that expectations are shifting.
As leaders, will we shift to pace with those changing expectations?
I suspect if we bravely paused our laser focus on business results and refocused our attention on culture, employee experience, and higher purpose, we'd come out ahead.
We'll also take a swim in the shallow end of radical candor. You'll leave with a solid foundation on what is and how you might begin to shift from "too polite" or "too abrasive" to direct, compassionate candor that strengthens relationships.
And no worries! Next week we'll take a deep end plunge with it.

Wish you knew how to actualize the potential of your teams?
You're in for a treat because, today, Ellen Burts-Cooper is with me. Ellen is one of my favorite educators on cohesive, agile team performance, and she's going to share her approach to creating high-performing teams.
One of the reasons I love Ellen's work is she focuses on both style and systems. It's easy to over-index on style as it's more provocative, but without good systems, we dilute our strength.
What will you walk away with?

Everyone's talking about the start of the college football season (Go Bucks) and stakeholders. At 10X, we talk about Stakeholder Win/Win versus Stakeholder Capitalism because clear rules the day, and when its all said and done, what matters is what we do, not the theories we espouse.
In today's conversation, we're putting our toe into stakeholder win/win; exploring a model 10X uses to create a conversation around what this is with each stakeholder in our ecosystem.
I always try to remember that conflict and disagreement almost always root from misalignment. And often, misalignment roots from unclear expectations around outcomes and behaviors.
This simple process will help you transform your relationships with your stakeholders and set the stage for future conversations about stakeholders over the next several months.

This is Part 2 of our strategy series. Last week, we talked about the cadence (process) of strategy creation and successful actualization.
This week we're diving into the subtle. The most important work strategically happens before we run a competitive analysis, brainstorm our SWOT, or look at market trends.
In fact, starting with these exercises increases our likelihood of failure. What matters most is getting clear on what's inspiring, worthy, and impactful. From there, we can create the form and function of our strategic plan through that lens.
If you're interested in exploring the 10X Strategy Methodology for your company or team, please contact us at hello@10xleadershiplab.com.

Not surprising, 10X Leadership Lab sees strategic planning differently than convention. Why?
Fundamentally, most of us have experienced everything that's broken with the traditional method of planning and execution.
Aspirationally, most of us deeply desire a meaningful process to align our effort and outcomes with what matters most while simultaneously engaging diverse perspectives and financially prospering.
That's 10X Strategy.
In today's conversation, we're going to talk through some of the elements of 10X Strategy as Part 1 of a three part series. Think of this conversation as laying the foundation.
In our upcoming conversations, we'll refine and explore how to bring this process to life.

Don your superhero cape... we're diving into the superpowers of 10X Leaders.
In this episode, we're taking one last look at the qualities of 10X Leaders; focusing on a few attributes that are game changers.
I'll also share the easiest way to gut check your alignment with the principles of 10X Leadership with a personal story that has stayed with me for over 2 decades.
So much of what we've learned about leadership is antithetical to what we know about how people thrive and best perform. As leaders, if we want to be great, we've got to rewrite our approach which asks us to both shift our own behavior and also embed better systems and methods into our culture.

In the last two episodes, we've explored how to get crystal clear on your leadership story. Your leadership story is a synthesis of your life's stories. Not every little detail; but the ones that touched you deeply, changed you immeasurably, and opened you to new possibilities.
In today's episode, Katie, Kelly, and I each share one story that has had a meaningful imprint on who we are as a leader with the hopes of modeling why and how your leadership story matters.
Maybe more than your learnings amassed, accolades gathered, competencies developed. Want to be a great leader?
Start with your WHY. It is the taproot.

Pause for a moment: What's your personal higher purpose? And if you lead others, what is each of theirs?
If you stumble on this, this episode is for you.
No one jumps out of bed inspired and willing to put themselves boldly into the world day after day, year after year, when our work is misaligned with the impact we most want to have or when our WHY is overshadowed by an obsession with financial results and KPI's. We might get excited for awhile, but eventually, our soul will rumble with discontent.
As leaders, the most important work we can do is to intentionally embed the Higher Purpose of the business, ourselves, and our team into the DNA of what we do every day.
Join Katie, Kelly, and I as we dive into the practices and rituals that help each of us connect and stay aligned with our personal higher purpose.

There's a big reveal in this episode that may bring a sigh of relief or "oh sh*t" to your well intentioned leadership heart.
In today's conversation, Katie Comtois and I dive into what it means to create a coaching culture, why it matters, and the fallacy of thinking we can focus on the what and how to create true engagement.
It's the WHY that matters; not just the business' but our individual why (which informs the how and what of our leadership) and the WHY of our teams. As leaders, we play an instrumental role in ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience the intersection of those three WHY's.
We'll begin to unpack this concept; giving helpful hints on what it looks like as a daily practice.

The WHERE of work is a hot topic, and one we believe is an open invitation to lifting above the question itself to instead consider how we can lead consciously.
In this week's conversation, we'll talk about using the WHY and WHAT of a job to identify all of the ways we might answer WHEN and WHERE; leaving the HOW to the individual contributor.
This is our chance to help people align with work that supports their whole self and their holistic vision of a life well lived.

Carley's personal passion around environmental sustainability has fueled much of her work, and gives us all a model around how to align our careers with our purpose.

In today's conversation, we're beginning a three week exploration of clarifying & living into our non-negotiables (aka: core values).
Today, we'll take the 20,000 foot spin; considering how to discover them, how to give them meaning that informs daily behavior, and how to integrate them into the DNA of our teams.

This week's podcast is about action. I'm going to walk you through a higher purpose lab; giving you the inquiry prompts and process to begin crafting your higher purpose.
This work is designed to support your business, but can also be done at a team or individual level. I love tweaking this framework for creating one's higher purpose for life as there is magic in articulating and embodying the seed of our inspiration.
Give yourself plenty of time, invite others to the conversation, and practice getting out of your head and into your whole system intelligence. The most efficient way to do that is to change your surroundings and commit to fun.

In my career as a CEO, I've talked with a lot of advisors who sing the praises of strategic acumen and process for long term success. It's the working ON the business as compared to the ever intoxicating working IN the business.
And yes, strategy creates a much needed source of illumination on the path to the future.
But path to where? For what purpose? And why does it matter?
This is higher purpose.
In today's episode, we'll dive into higher purpose for your business and its irreplaceable relevance in creating an engaged, inspired, passionate team that, through thick and thin, stays aligned.
Next week, we'll workshop this for your business so tune in next week for the experimentation.

If you had to guess what percentage of desired shift or change actually actualizes & sticks long term as intended, what would you say?
My life experience puts it somewhere between 15 and 25%. And the more people involved, the greater the complexity and the lower the percentage.
In this week's show, we'll talk about 10X Shift from the root to the vision, and how to architect lasting change that is well adopted and systemically embedded.
This wisdom applies to your personal life and to your business.
Enjoy!

The pandemic has been an accelerant of human centric innovation, and this wheel can continue to turn as we build the muscle of purposeful, aligned change that makes a positive imprint in the world. Mark's work speaks to my passion that our businesses are about more than what we sell every day; they are vehicles for leaving a legacy all of our stakeholders feel proud of.

In this week’s podcast conversation, we’ll explore how this time in our country’s story is shaping the role of business and leadership. At moments of inflection, how can we lead well? We’ll talk about tools you can use to lead your own well-being as well as how to support your stakeholders without distracting from your essential work every day. This is an important conversation, and I have as many questions as suggestions. As leaders, this time feels messy. What do we say? do? How do we hold space? What does authenticity & vulnerability look like? It’s easy to bury our heads and drive forward, avoiding addressing people’s reality because we’re uncertain, but that decision comes with a high cost.
This conversation is one you can take to your team and consider how it applies to your sphere of influence. _____________________________

This episode is the sequel to #83: What Will Inspire Your 2021 Choices.
In this conversation, we'll walk the wheel of the year; covering the key planning, measuring, and recalibrating milestones that ensure we unleash our potential, effort, and time on what matters most.
In episode #83 (listen here), we explored an inquiry based visioning process to crystallize our north star. In this episode, I'll share a step by step process to use each day to move towards that north star.
Most of us know what it feels like to be busy and to simultaneously feel like we aren't doing our great work. This process breaks that habit.

Welcome to 2021!
If you feel like you're going in all directions, struggle to say no, and lack gut level, immediate clarity on what you're called to DO, this episode is for you.
In this episode, we're turning inward to discover and distill our personal higher purpose, 18 month life vision, our non-negotiables, and our clear path of saying YES and NO to what presents itself in our life.
We'll walk through the questions you can use to refine your higher purpose and talk about how that guides EVERYTHING. And I'll give you a method you can use to make decisions that elevate your life and fulfill your vision.
There's a fun homework opportunity at the end that I hope you'll do. A reminder I give myself often: I don't know it unless I'm doing it.
Happy 2021!

This week, we're talking with therapist and style consultant, Marisol Colette.
Marisol shares with us her unique perspective on style as a vehicle of remembering and embracing our truth, preferences, creativity, and flair for life. Her belief? Personal style is a vehicle to create the courage and love of self to embrace our High Purpose.
Style is a sandbox through which we can practice, in a fun and safe way, owning what lights us up, makes us unique, and sets us apart. And when we're immersed in choosing from this place, it impacts every aspect of our life.

This week's podcast lands the concept of conscious leadership into form.
This is my favorite topic and my own lifelong journey. How do we more effectively inhabit our potential as a leader and thus as a human?
My intention is that you walk away with specifics you can integrate, explore, and/or teach your team.
In it, I mention two people you might like to connect with:
This week's conversation with Cory Calvin speaks to what most of us are either wishing for, resisting, or intentionally embodying.
How do we actualize and share the whole of ourselves; in work, relationship, and purpose? How do we drop the "supposed to's and should's" in order to pick up the "I'm ready for & I deeply desire."?
Here's the beautiful reality: when we treat authenticity and alignment as our most important work in life, our impact in our work as leader, producer, creator, and companion blossoms.
Our results transform because we transformed.
Cory is the author of I Almost Became Me with a second book on the way, and founder of Pivot Trips, a experiential company that marries travel and transformation.
You can find his work here: https://pivottrip.com/
Connect with Cory on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/corycalvin/
Cory also has a podcast that is definitely worth checking out called The Cory Calvin Podcast.
In this week's conversation, we're with Sandra Smith of AlchemyWorks. Our time together truly touched me on so many levels.
Her work is dedicated to helping people do the work that matters most; traveling inward to access the whole of who we are so we are enabled to make our most significant impact in the world.
She teaches that transformation is a choice and a purpose. And she does all of this through the use of the Enneagram as a tool.
To learn more about Sandra and her business, AlchemyWorks, visit https://alchemyworksevents.com/.
In this week's conversation, we're with Craig Lucas, founder of Authenica.
Craig is one of the most masterful connectors of people and creators of growth experiences. His company, Authenica, is the manifestation of those areas of genius and passion.
In this conversation, you get to learn with me as Craig shares his perspective on aligning our work with our passion and gifts and courageously pivoting when you discover misalignment.
We'll deep dive why experiential learning is far superior to the traditional trainings we do as leaders and how to create that in your teams.
And most importantly, Craig shares his process for growing from the inside out; tending to the interior landscape to quantumly shift our lives.
You can learn more about Authenica at https://authenica.com/ and connect with Craig on LinkedIn.

This conversation with Brian Mohr, co-founder of Lifetracks & director with the Conscious Capitalism Organization, is one of my favorites.
Brian is an extraordinary story teller and weaves his personal journey into lessons on how to align with purpose, tend to the entire stakeholder ecosystem, and seemingly unrelated but not, use music to create more intimacy and trust in teams.
The logic behind Brian's early career choices mirror how many of us landed in our roles, and then he found the yellow book. I'll let you listen to hear that story.
You can find Brian's work at https://lifetracks.me/; including the free tool to build your own soundtrack of your life (https://lifetracks.me/5songintro/).

The Yellow Book? Conscious Capitalism: Liberating the Heroic Spirit Of Business by John Mackey & Raj Sisodia.
On the Conscious Leadership podcast, we talk a lot about how to efficiently & gracefully access:
* greater self awareness
* whole self intelligence
* connection with our Highest Self & inner knowing
* clarity about what’s next for us
* creativity
One of our jobs as a leader is to master accessing our potential in a higher percentage of moments, and then modeling that for collective upleveling.
Music is an often overlooked access portal to potential, and in my opinion, is one that is wide open for most people; making it great for teams.
In this conversation, you’ll hear Stephen Kohler, founder of Audira Labs, talk about how he uses music in his work with leaders and teams. We'll also deep dive free, easy, and fun ways to create meaningful cultural transformation.
Imagine starting your next brainstorming session with the Theme Song from Rocky (dun dada dun dada dun dada dun….). You can learn more about Stephen's (skohler@audiralabs.com) work at:
In this week's conversation, we're talking with Taylor Buonocore-Guthrie, co-founder of Convers(ate).
Convers(ate) exists to help us go deep with others in a safe way; using meaningful questions to break the habits of small talk and social hierarchies.
Imagine if meetings began with one question that drew out everyone's voice and helped us know one another better versus another conversation about the weather, the weekend game, or the blow by blow on what happened immediately prior.
Working with meaningful questions in teams fosters intimacy & curiosity which wakes up creativity & innovation.
Convers(ate) facilitates and trains as well as offers an amazing box of questions that has literally transformed our dinner conversations.

In this week's conversation, we're diving into the relationship between strategy and purpose for both your business and your life.
I am a believer that our business strategy and outcomes are dramatically buoyed by a distilled, integrated life purpose in which we've committed to our own discovery & evolution.
This is the juice of life, and I'll give you a series of questions that you can dance with, contemplate, and journal to travel inward towards a deeper knowing of yourself.
This conversation is intended to be interactive so have fun with it!

This week's podcast is an interactive journey to explore:
Our business, job, pet projects, relationships (etc) are magic carpets for living an authentic, impactful, joy filled life. They are vehicles through which we can practice optimization; embrace our potential; take risks with our vulnerability.
Do we know ourselves well enough to optimize our performance?
This podcast is going live in the midst of a pandemic and a clear and loud call to address systemic racism that has oppressed millions of our community members for generations.
Both of these events act as invitations to consider how we can use our businesses as platforms to support our teams, our clients, and our communities.
In this episode, we're looking at our choice around diversity, inclusivity, and equity (DEI) in our businesses & how to tend to the needs of our employees during times of high change and chaos.
We'll explore ways in which we might address the core needs of employees to feel engaged, understood, respected, and inspired.
My caveat? This podcast is from my experience and voice. I come to you in the only way I know; as a white middle aged woman of privilege who has a desire to help businesses contribute sustainable change and a better world.

This week's podcast has a twist.
In this interview, I am the guest on Laura Wagenecht's popular IN AWE radio program on WPVM 103.7.
IN AWE exists to bring awareness to all aspects of leadership as a woman: climbing the ladder to success, sexism, racism, agism, being the only woman in the room, trying to be superwoman and parent children and work full-time, women’s bias against other women, women in the military, and women in a variety of industries.
I'm honored to share my story and lessons learned along the way; some of which are specific to being a white woman born in the United States in the early 70's and evolving as executive in the 90's, and some of which are gleaned from my work with thousands of high performers in their own pursuit of achievement, wellness, and a life well lived.
In the interview, I talk a lot about the qualities of a Conscious Leader. If you'd like a one pager that distills this, you can request it here.
If you prefer to watch the interview on video, you can view it on Pure Potential's youtube channel.

In this week's conversation, we hear from Sarah Benken, serial entrepreneur and founder of KNOW; a collective of women executives, business owners, and change agents.
There is so much wisdom and honesty in Sarah's story as she reminds us to use our businesses as a vehicle for our own humanity. You'll hear her share about the tenacity, empathy, & intentionality of creating meaningful, synergistic relationships in business.
We dissect the concept of networking; finding a more purposeful, less self serving way to see these opportunities as well as discuss best practices to create your own professional advisory council.
There is much to be learned from women about authentic connection that elevates, and Sarah's business model exudes this.

In this week's conversation, we're exploring the specific actions of conscious leadership. Yes... there are qualities core to our being that support us as leaders such as emotional intelligence, moral fortitude, and intellectual and systems capability, but there are also many quick and easy actions we can take that make a big difference.
This week, we're looking at steps you can start today.
When we embody conscious leadership, we invite others to follow suit. Our willingness to model the behaviors sets the table for sustainable shifts in culture.
And it starts with one person willing to show up a little differently.
In this episode, I mention a past conversation we had called the Elements of Radical Communication. You can access that here.
I also mention a tool you can use for proactive, inquiry based decision making that focuses you on the possibility versus the problem. Download that tool here.

In this week's podcast, we're talking with Kay McDonald, CEO of Charity Charms.
Charity Charms exist to support non-profits connect with donors and fulfill their vision. They are a clear example of how purpose can transcend intention and become strategy.
But what about the rest of us selling products & services B2B or B2C? We have a higher purpose, yes. (Even if we need to dust it off). But is it part of our organization's DNA?
We're going to explore all of this as we talk with Kay, as well as consider the tough question: How do we stay in alignment with purpose when the going gets tough?
To explore more on this topic, I encourage you to watch the companion vlog.

This week, we're talking about conscious communication. And why, you may be asking, is this episode called "become the communication radical?"
Because communication in the workplace is the single biggest complaint across all levels of employees and types of teams. It always has been, it still is, and if we keep doing what we do, it will always be.
And yet, most of us have done TONS of communication training. So why is this still an issue?
Welcome to Conscious Communication.
Conscious communication asks us to turn our attention from the topic at hand to unlocking brilliance of everyone involved because when we access the collective brilliance, the result around the topic travels skyward to a place previously beyond our expectation.
But until we get into the recesses of intelligence in everyone, we cannot fully optimize the result.
In this episode, I'm going to give you the tools to create radical shift in the quality of communication in your circles.
This episode also has an accompanying VLOG about how to diagnose the highest impact area for improvement. You can find it here.
Enjoy!

This week's episode is all about the PIVOT; Conscious Leadership Style.
When we think about making a conscious pivot, we might consider how this is actually reclaiming alignment. When we create intentional change to align with our Truth & Highest Good, we cultivate flow versus struggle.
We're talking with Sarah Poet this week. Sarah created an intentional pivot on a large scale in her career to launch Embodied Breath. She'll tell you all about it.
I love Sarah's perspective on the pivot. In our conversation, she shares: I believe that we can all consciously learn to relate to ourselves and to one another so that we increase the presence of our truth, our natural leadership, and our relational capacity while on the planet.
This is such a grace-filled way to think about how we show up in the world and navigate moment by moment choice.
If you'd like more information on Sarah and her work, you can find her at www.sarahpoet.com or search for her podcast, Sacred Remembering. Her TED talk is also available on her website and is a must listen.

This week, we're looking at best practices for working virtually. Your surroundings have an immense impact on your outcomes and your mood when you arrive at the end of your day.
And right now, many of us are working in entirely different environments in entirely new ways.
We're going to to explore 5 key aspects of how we work that need to pivot when we work virtually to maximize success.
We'll look at communication, space, calendar segmentation, managing distractions, and meetings that matter.
Taking time to set up our work environment for optimal outcomes matters. It's easy to endure, but resist that temptation.
You can make these shifts with no more than a couple hours of effort. Well worth the time.
If you didn't listen to last week's podcast, Mindset Matters, I encourage you to start with that episode first. Recalibrating our mindset is a non-negotiable to peak performance. Listen Here.

In today's podcast, we're talking about Conscious Mindset.
Last week, we explored what Conscious Leadership looks like in the midst of chaos, and the baseline requirement of Conscious Leadership is mindset.
No amount of brilliance, strategic acumen, or charisma trumps mindset. In fact, without an elevated mindset, we can never be more than an optimized mediocre.
So, what is mindset and how can we build a positive mindset muscle?
We're going to deep dive that in this episode.
If you didn't listen to last week's podcast, Conscious Leadership In the Midst of Chaos, I encourage you to start with that episode first. Listen Here.

In today’s episode, I'm sharing what it means to be a Conscious Leader in the midst of chaos. The chaos we're in the midst of now is the Corona Virus, but this is not our first rodeo.
Chaos is a part of life, and we have a choice to make when it presents itself: Who Will We Be In It?
So, I'm going to share 5 steps you can take to using your business, relationships, and communities as a positive platform of leadership.
PLUS we'll close with 4 tips on how to get back your own sanity.
A few references in the podcast:
We can have a meaningful impact that significantly shifts the way people are feeling and thus responding to what’s happening around us.
In today’s episode I’m talking with Marie Eckstein who shares candidly her sense of loss and struggle to rediscover who she was beyond her job.
Marie had a long corporate career that took her to the executive table of a global chemical company until internal and external conditions shifted unexpectedly and wildly; resulting in a closure of that career.
You'll hear her talk about her journey to manifest that truth, her work to redefine herself as professional, and her leap to begin Red Dirt Road; a company that supports female entrepreneurs and makers in Cambodia.
Red Dirt Road is a social enterprise intent on elevating women who then elevate communities. It is a story of the flywheel of abundance and opportunity.

Their tag line; Change Lives, Shop Red Dirt Road, perfectly captures the impact you can have if you choose to support them. There is a wonderful short film on the home page that will inspire you.

In today's episode, I'm talking with Tonya Dalton of Inkwell Press about all things productivity.
We think about productivity as a system, and it is. But Tonya keeps us focused on the most important aspect of creating impact: staying true to our vision and our why in a practical, efficient way.
In fact, focusing our attention on our WHY takes tremendous discipline.

In this week's episode, we are doing the topical overview of holistic health; meaning we'll do a quick deep dive into the 9 domains of wellness which sets the table for you to create a plan to move towards the vitality, joy, and wellbeing you envision.
I am a bit of a health nut and student of the impact of health on our effectiveness, creativity, and productivity. This is a teaser to encourage deeper self exploration.
Our health is far more than physical, emotional, and mental. And our personal health template is certainly more dynamic than how we move or what we put in our mouths.
My hope is that this episode can act as a diagnostic checklist against which you can benchmark your own well-being for the purpose of creating positive shift moving forward.
Enjoy!

In this conversation, Eileen and I talk about what truly engaged leadership is, how to capitalize on the latent passion and talent of your team, and how to get buy-in when performance and trust is waning.
"We judge ourselves by our intentions. Others judge us by our actions. Our job as leaders is to align the two." - Eileen Odum
Prior to pivoting to a career phase focused on Board of Director positions, Eileen was the CEO of NiSource, Indiana's largest public utility and President of National Operations for Verizon. To learn more about her, visit her LinkedIn Profile.
This week, I'm sharing my 20 goals for 2020 as well as how they wrap around my larger intention - my mantra - for the year.
If you listened to the first episode of 2020, you heard me talk about the distinction between intention and resolution / goal (if you didn't listen, zip back and pick it up as its full of useful info).
In this episode, I get personal on what's on my radar and why; all from the lands of "for pure pleasure" to the "build the muscle" to the "knock it out of the park."
I love connection, and this felt like a great way to share a little bit more about me in a way that inspired and piqued thought for you in your own life. Because really - that's where all of this matters.
If you love the idea of 20 in 2020, write your own & share at least ONE on the Pure Potential FB page.
The first 20 people to share will get entered in a drawing for a Free IGNITE YOUR IMPACT workbook and digital course. :)
Cheers to A Happy New Year (and if you think I'm a bit belated, you definitely need to listen to this episode).

In this conversation, Laura and her colleague, Ursula Jorch share candidly their experience with gender equity throughout their career, and what they believe we can each do every day to contribute to closing the gap.
The statistics around gender equity are startling. Recent data indicates the wage gap is widening even as more seats are filled by women. And the majority voice across almost all spheres and board rooms is white and male.
Diverse perspective shifts performance and thus results upward. Research shows that this isn't a small shift - it is an economic game changer.
And women with influence, financial wealth, and power ripple that into their communities and cascade it down through their organizations. Win / Win.
Enjoy this dialog as we grapple with the difficulty of finding our voice and the essentialness of doing it anyway.
Ursula Jorch is the founder of Work Alchemy, devoted to cultivating and developing a strategic and operational impact focus in purpose-driven businesses.
She hosts the popular podcast Work Alchemy: The Impact Interviews, conversations about the joys and challenges of having impact with people like Seth Godin and Marianne Williamson. Find her work at https://www.workalchemy.com/
Stick around in this episode, and you'll hear a bit about an experience I am having personally that is testing me. :)
The rest of the conversation is around how authentic self care (and no - I'm not talking about yoga or massage), career choice, deconstruction, and the pivot are all intertwined in a magically important way.
And if you can hone the skill of the VOID, you can create more grace, resilience, and intentionality in your decisions.
Today, I'm talking with Laura McCann, CEO and Co-Creator of Adoratherapy. Every conversation I have with Laura is a blessing. She is a dear friend, mentor, and overall source of inspiration in my life.
And she's brilliant. Truly. I've never met anyone who births and weaves ideas like Laura. Today, she's sharing:
She shares intimately about her own journey of seeing her work as part of her spiritual path, and what she has been required to confront and own about herself on that path.
Happy 2020!
New Year, New Decade, New Possibilities!
There is something magical about the arrival of a new year, and as we are also beginning a decade, I want to invite you to evolve your resolution / goal setting process to include the BEING of who you are.
What you DO or ACHIEVE is irrelevant if you as a human are not growing into your potential.
In this episode, we'll talk about:
1) How to create resolutions that have STICK, get TRACTION, and sustain MOMENTUM.
2) How to come awake to the potential of your life as spiritual being in a human body.
3) How you can embrace both the ACTION of progress while embodying the EVOLUTION of Self (with a capital S).
Happy New Year!
My gratitude and blessings to you,
Laura
I get to nerd out with you today and share my favorite productivity technologies, tools, and tricks that I LOVED so much in 2019 that I'm taking them with me into the new decade.
In this episode, I'll help you turn ON some technologies that will boost your outcomes, turn OFF some tech that is a distraction (or at least consciously choose your use of it), and start using some simple best practices that catalyze results every day while protecting your health and happiness.
In the episode, I talk about the IGNITE YOUR IMPACT digital course. This course begins January 10th, and is a guided journey to igniting your purpose while quieting your negative self talk. It also has amazing training on time management & meditation. For more info, visit my website: www.laurajuarez.com/workwithme and choose the IGNITE YOUR IMPACT digital course.
See you in 2020!
This week, we're talking BIG questions & why they matter and shift the game.
We get fixated on KNOWING, having the answers, and alleviating confusion. But so much of our confusion or not knowing comes from asking the wrong questions.
When we ask better questions, we get much better answers, and those answers are the feed source to the everyday detailed questions around how, what, where, and who.
In this week's episode, we're talking about inquiry as a tool of intelligence and rumbling with the big question of "What is the fullest expression" of myself? Or... How can the BEING of who I am more efficiently & gracefully guide the DOING of what I choose?
Enjoy!

This is the third of 3 podcast episodes in a series in which I was the guest speaker on Matt Anderson's THE ROAD NOT TAKEN podcast.
In this episode, Matt and I talk about why emotional strength sustains high performance, how to measure a life well lived, and the magic of habits & accountability. Yep - they are super sexy.
Would LOVE to hear your feedback and always grateful if you share with your colleagues and friends. xo

Hi All,
This is the part 2 in a 3 part series in which I am the guest speaker on the podcast, THE ROAD NOT TAKEN.
This week, I'm talking with host Matt Anderson about optimizing our time. I know... my skin just got itchy too. This is not another time management discussion.
Matt and I are talking about how to discover your planning temperament, get off the wheel of being "On Call" to the world, and aligning our resources with our genius zone in a practical, bite sized way.
I'll share my theory on why "time management" sucks but resource optimization reigns supreme as well diving into the hidden but high cost of distractions. (We'll quantify it.)
And yes... I did say it backwards. (If you listen to this episode, you'll know what I mean. :))
Have a fabulous day!

Recently, I was interviewed on Matt Anderson's podcast, The Road Not Taken. This podcast speaks to my heart as its vision is to help high performers and visionaries get out of their own way so they can have their highest impact.
Over the next 3 weeks, I'm chunking the interview down for you. This week, we're talking about some of my favorite topics:
If you've listened to my previous podcasts or read my blog, you know that I am passionate about elevating above optimized mediocrity. Not sure what that is? We're talking about that too.
Tune in next week for Part 2 of this conversation as well.

Cheers to Potential!

We're starting this week with my favorite quote from Albert Einstein and going deep into the ritual of amplifying our vision.
Not too many spoilers this week, but here are a few teasers:
I believe that our work is one vehicle through which we walk our sacred path. It cannot be separate from our vision of our life and who we are as spiritual being having a human experience.
And, we can embody that while also creating Kick A** results.
By the way, I reference previous episode #15: A Different Kind of R&R that will give you an edge if you want to listen to it. It is loaded with gems on Ritual & Routines.
Grateful to be with you!

Orla works with executive and senior managers on personal breakthrough for the purpose of professional clarity and high performance.

She also shares about her Evolve Intensive Program for men; something I believe everyone needs to know about.

Recently, I led a yoga & meditation retreat - one of my favorite "work projects." Hard to call these work as they are so rich on all levels. And even though they require an extraordinary amount of effort & energy, they are master teachers.
And as it always happens, the right people come together at the right time. Divine Intervention certainly.
In this week's podcast, I share my learnings from this amazing group of women. And here's the nugget.... It doesn't matter if it is this group or another, these learnings always emerge as they are universal lessons of connection and whole hearted living.
If you are interested in being part of one of my retreats, keep an eye out on my website for upcoming events. www.laurajuarez.com.
The next one is February 6th - 9th in North Carolina.
Enjoy!

This week, I interview one of my favorite people and dearest of friends; Marisol Colette.
Marisol has changed my perspective on pursuit, achievement, and progress in a marked and important way, and I know you'll love hearing her speak to it.
She is a therapist, creator of SolReflection, a company dedicated to helping people evolve towards their most authentic expression inside and out, amazing friend & colleague, and master joy cultivator for anyone who comes into her presence.
She calls herself a therapeutic image consultant, but that feels to me like a scratch on the surface. You can check out her work at www.solreflection.com or follow her on social media, @solreflection.
Recently, I observed 5 incredible women who have achieved wild success professionally for the full of 4 days, and while unique and diverse in style, personality, and preferences, they share 12 qualities that I believe differentiate peak performers.
In this podcast, I deep dive the 12 in a whirlwind 18 minutes. Here's what I want you to know.... They weren't BORN with any of these qualities (with the exception of perhaps one).
They developed, practiced, grooved, and perfected them over their career. And even now, each of them well into their career, they are still refining with enthusiasm to get better every day.
Happy Listening!

This week, I'm thrilled to bring a conversation with Ursula Jorch about Conscious Leadership; a term made popular when John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods, published his book, Conscious Capitalism.
Conscious leadership; however, has been around much longer as a dream state and vision of leaders, and I believe is at the heart of the massive shift we've seen towards entrepreneurial start-ups and organizational focus on employee engagement.
In this episode, Ursula shares tips and wisdom on:
Ursula Jorch owns Work Alchemy, and she works at the intersection of capitalism, consciousness, and social and environmental impact. As a business coach and consultant, Ursula’s focus with her clients is on how to make smart and strategic decisions, while tending to individual and group dynamics. This is one of my favorite topics: Spaciousness.
Not the woowoo spaciousness as a portal to the otherworldly but spaciousness as a potent and practical practice that reduces stress, elevates intelligence, taps intuition, and quiets the noise of our life.
In this episode, I'll share:
If you're scratching your head a bit at the word spaciousness, you can think about it as a series of tools that open the door for authentic expression of your truth and nourish your body so that you are able to be enthusiastically AWAKE to this moment.
Better decision making, clearer choice, more confident living.
Enjoy!

Feeling a little bit busy? (Or alot busy?) Yup.
I recorded this one at the tailend of a zany week in which I was feeling the strain of BUSY. And, I also recorded it after doing one of my favorite "stop buying the lie of busy" practices: Meditation. (So I'm SUPER CALM in the audio).
Here's what I want us all to consider: Busy is a story that is part fact and part fiction.
It is our new normal, and this week, we're diving into busyness as CHOICE, and then if we're still ALL IN for what we've said yes to, how to go through busy seasons without compromising ourselves.
We'll cover:
I'll share some of my favorites tricks to thriving in busy seasons as well! Happy Listening! Cheers to Fulfilling versus Busy Living! Change is inevitable, and our choice to grow with it or resist it matters.
So many of us are committed to growth in theory but struggle with its execution. Making it too difficult, too painful, expecting too much, or hiding too long.
In this podcast, we're going deep. Starting with the FIRST step of healthy growth & then exploring the paths of growth (that we can choose!).
I'll share my 3 steps to graceful, gradient evolution that is soul-aligned and impact-driven.
Enjoy!

As a business owner, particularly if you are a team of 3 or less, you wear a lot of hats.
And as does life, business flies fast; surfacing urgent / not important, tactical / not strategic, task / not result every day.
It's easy to get on that wheel and forget what truly will make your business (and thus you) thrive.
Today, we're talking about the mastery of sales.
Sales is a function, a mindset, and a belief in yourself. (Listen to find out how). It is the fuel that propels your vision in the world.
Sales is a form of confidence, connection, and compassion.
And it is an essential part of every day.
Over the last 25 years, I've led sales across all sizes of teams; for B2B, B2C, product and service.
I'll share my 5 Tips to getting your flywheel of sales soaring as well as how to shift your mindset (and thus your results) with sales.
Sales isn't what you think. And until we let go of our perception that it is uncomfortable, sleazy, or self-serving, our business will languish in the Land of Expensive Hobbies.
Cheers to Results!

It seems like everyone is starting a business or dreaming of doing so, and here's what I know:
Until you have momentum, start-ups are TOUGH. You've got to be 100% IN to make it happen.
And start-ups are INCREDIBLE! They are an investment in yourself; one of your smartest bets. But you've got to get a few things right from the beginning.
We'll cover mindset, sales, time management, forecasting, pivoting with grace, and self-care plus a WHOLE LOT more (I have a lot to say about this topic). :)
