Huddcast 008 is brought to you by Portuguese DJ & producer Accatone.
José Reis, or Accatone name of the first Pasolini movie derived by his cinema graduation, is a beggar for groove and rhythm. He’s also fond of 808 drum samples and lush chords. This can get him into trouble when in the company of other house heads but shows his willingness to test the boundaries of his chosen genre with often great results. Accatones musical know how, gained through a life on full front musicianship and live acts, enables him to translate his soul world influences into contemporary House music.
It’s difficult to sum up his productions and his dj sets as in a way he thrives for the old school House and Techno and brings his own imprint, a highly organic dance floor experience that can change in a clap and still maintain a natural voyage like flow. With a vast music selection on his crate, Accatone is able to blend both the old and new without any trouble of a sort.
Accatone has been an artist and co-promoter for the past 4 years of one of the most successful modern prints in Portugal, Piston Recordings. It’s a family run label that has provided Accatone with the ground to make his cuts by walking freely in many different musical quadrants. Running their own label nights, there’s room for everything, and everyone comes down for the music’s quality and variety.
Having several EP’s and remixes released since 2008 and a full album in 2012 on labels like Dabit, Apparel, Piston Recordings, Roots & Wings, One to One, to name some, and having his work remixed by legendary Matthew Herbert or Jay Tripwire (Poker Flat, Tonality), Piek, (Cadenza, Paulatine, diynamic), Accatone is becoming a full-grown producer by conquering the likes of Dj Sneak, Laurent Garnier, Stacey Pullen, Slam, Timo Maas, Danny Tennaglia, Olderic, David Labeij, Mirco Violi, Severino Panzeta (Horse Meat Disco), Paco Osuna and many others!
Years to come will certainly take notice on this newcomer that has been conquering the after-hours underground scene in Lisbon and Bilbao’s wonder nights or the deep Stuttgart scene and getting the recognition of Berlin's Weekend Club and other European club scenes.
Huddcast 006 is brought to you by Hudd Traxx 036 artist - Little Fritter.
From Little Fritter’s early days as a wee lad on the drums and mic, to his late teen years as wildcat, DJ and promoter; the Fritter journey has been a wild ride dedicated to dance floor looseness. His first release came in 2008 on Music Situation and he has since released on solid house labels Affin, Catwash, Diaphan, One Records, Brut!, Suruba, Beef Records, Merkesdir, Trazable, Rhythmetic and Bleep Bloop. Rising quickly to the top in his homeland of Australia, Fritter’s strong reputation and skill have seen him become a regular home grown favourite at some of Australia’s most prestigious events such as the Future Music Festival in Brisbane, Circo Loco in Sydney as well as his legendary island parties on the Gold Coast. But not content with conquering his homeland, Little Fritter regularly spreads his love to the far reaches of the globe, spending 6 months of the year in Europe every year since 2008.
2011 will see Little Fritter relocate to Berlin for a locked and loaded summer of mischief! Watch out Europe – you have been warned! Keep your ears open for forthcoming releases on Hudd Trax and Nice Cat. Alongside his enviable solo work, Fritter has been busy knocking up some juicy collaborations with the mighty Los Updates, fellow aussie Zare and his long standing partnership with good pal and rising star Alex James as Nil By Mouth. These collaborations will see the Fritter explore the full inner workings of his mischievously talented brain and if you haven’t been bitten by the Fritter bug yet; fear not your time is coming!
