The Be About It podcast speaks to people who have taken the time to actively do something to create racial justice or support black communities in the UK and globally.
Naomi Simon has had a long history of volunteering to support the Black community. From an early age, she has been supporting a Saturday school run by her dad and has started several side projects since then.
We learned about her motivations for creating projects and giving back to her community, most notably raising funds to support Black families financially during the pandemic and her involvement in the SEADS project who are training teachers and supporting schools across Africa and the Caribbean.

Nero Ughwujabo has dedicated much of his career to creating greater racial equity in British society. He spent several years working as the Chief Executive of Croydon BME Forum working closely with community organisations in the area campaigning for change and enacting change on a wide range of issues.
His work led him to become the first Special advisor to the Prime Minister of African heritage.
In this episode, we discuss his motivations for committing himself to this work, his achievements, and advice others can take if they are interested in creating change.
Sasha is a principal genetic counsellor and PhD candidate who's passion for inclusivity in the field of genetics lead her work across the world.
She has too often been the only Black Genetic counsellor in many of the spaces that she has been in and has taken the initiative to set up Genetics Engage to encourage greater inclusivity in the field.
We discuss her journey into the field, her experiences as a Black woman in this space. We also take about the genetics of race and what that means for our day to day experiences.

Nathaniel is the founder or Wakuda a market place for Black creators. After struggling to find a doll for his daughter that represented her, and his business partner struggling to find a Father's Day card that featured a Black father, they decided to create an online marketplace for Black creators making the products they needed.
We discuss how Wakuda began and what they have done to support the Black business owners.
As the host of Black Millennial Money Podcast, Joseph Nwosu recorded 100 episodes outlining the intricacies of making money, keeping money, investing money and spending money on the finer in life for the perspective of a Black Millennial.
In this episode we explore the main reason why Joseph created the podcast: to prepare Black Millennials who have the opportunity to build a global middle class with the tools to manage their finances to realise this possibility.

Joyann Boyce is the Founder of Inclued AI and Arima & Co. We speak to her about the concept of Inclusive Marketing and find out its probably how marketing should have been be done all along.
She generously shares how her career journey has lead her into specialising in inclusive marketing and then to utilising AI to help companies ensure they're doing it correctly. I personally enjoyed hearing about how Nathaniel made his way into college with an unconventional but truly inspiring approach.

In this episode I sit down with, youth worker, poet, writer, photographer and all round creative Kay Rufai.
We discussed how his personal journey led him to create the S.M.I.L.E-ing Boys Project. The has been working with black boys, helping them to manage their mental health and challenge negative stereotypes.
We discuss the importance for artists to contribute to society, Masculinity here and in Ethiopia and public health approaches to solving violence amongst Black Boys.
Kay reminded us that just speaking to black boys positively and recognising their positivity can help to bring about change.

This Episode shares our conversation about African healthcare with the Be About It Podcast's good Adebusuyi Adeyemi.
Ade's passion to help people in Africa led him to founding a number of projects including: The Kopfadeyemi Fellowship which helps talented healthcare professionals to transform African Healthcare systems, globalhealthjobs.com a job site for healthcare work with an international focus and a yearly Hackathon for African healthcare.
Ade told us about how he took inspiration from Batman and Hip Hop to create positive change for the underprivileged. He began focusing on African Healthcare more specifically because of the link between the development of Africa and anti Black racism across the world.
We discussed the very specific approaches that Ade used to prepare himself to have the ability to create change.
He explained the need to create an African theory for healthcare that shape what is needed to create effective healthcare services on the African continent without the need of input from charities and NGOs.
We also got the opportunity to discuss African responses to COVID 19 and the leadership that is taking place on the continent.
