The Money Itch Podcast started five years ago. I can’t believe it.

As I transition from my coaching business to my new exciting venture, I thought it would be perfect if I left you with a powerful message giving you the most important things I learned that allowed me to build a six-figure part-time business.

Let me start by saying, I always knew I was going to be an entrepreneur from a very young age. This isn’t my first business, but it’s the first one that worked. Everything I have built as an entrepreneur has been intentional.

This episode is designed to be a crash course on business where I share my secrets about how it all came together- it’s what I wish I heard in the beginning of my business.

In this episode, I share…

  • The timeline of my business from the original idea to leaving my job to multi-six figures and having a team
  • Seven top lessons learned that allowed me to make my business dreams come true
  • The truth about why I’m leaving my coaching business behind and starting another business instead
  • An update on the next business

My final message:

I want to say thank you to all my clients, supporters, and listeners. These past six years have been amazing. I’m in awe of what has come together. While it’s sad to end this chapter of my entrepreneurial journey, I am so excited to start writing the next one.

I hope this episode gives the “how to’s” and inspiration to make your business dreams come true.

I went from having one income stream to three. The road to getting there wasn’t easy, but it was worth it. There is so much I wish I knew earlier. Like many money goals, there weren’t many people around me that had the experience I needed.

The result was me making a lot of mistakes mostly around not giving each income stream the attention they needed to grow with ease.

Every month, someone tells me that they want to create another income stream outside of their 9-to-5s. Their ideas range from…

  • Day trading
  • Online product businesses
  • Creating a rental portfolio
  • Having several businesses at once
  • Owning commercial property

…and so much more.

However, people rarely ask me what it takes to juggle this income stream with their careers. Believe it or not this is the number one question you NEED to ask yourself. Why?

Your income stream grows and stabilizes when you give it time and attention. It has to be nurtured. If your plan is to create an income stream that doesn't have this, you could be setting yourself up for failure.

In this episode, I will be sharing with you the main strategies I’ve used to get better at juggling my income streams. These strategies have helped me to see continuous success and reduce the stress I used to feel.

After six incredible years, we are excited to launch our next business! With that comes big changes. Jones Coaching Group will no longer offer coaching services or the Money Itch Podcast.

Since I’m making big changes to Jones Coaching Group after six years of the same financial plan, I’ve decided to help you work through deciding if it’s time for you to make changes in your financial strategies as well.

I think this is one area of money we don’t talk about enough. We’re often taught that we have to stick with a financial plan even if it doesn’t feel right or we are not seeing the ROI we want.

When I talk about ROI in this case it doesn’t have to be financial- it can be emotional.

This is something I wish everyone knew about in terms of financial plans…

You can get the same financial results with different financial strategies.

For example, one person can retire early from stock investments, while another person can retire from starting a business or investing in rental properties. All of these financially savvy people can retire early, but through different strategies.

You don’t have to stick to one way of hitting your financial goal. You just have to get the best education on the strategy that works for you.

That’s why this money topic is so important.

In this episode, I will discuss

  • The two main reasons why you should change your financial plan
  • How to determine if you are getting the results you truly desire
  • Examples of when a plan is working or not
  • Tips to creating a plan that is sustainable for the long haul
  • When to give yourself permission to walk away
  • The reason I’m making a change in Jones Coaching Group

Anyone who has been broke in the past and has changed their financial lives has financial instincts that keep them financially safe. They live with an anxiety that encourages them to create financial safety nets.

We…

  • Tell ourselves “no” all the time
  • Worry that our financial choices today will lead to a financially bleak future
  • Live in fear that our past will recreate itself

Being broke in your past can be dictating your actions now. While this can lead to fat savings accounts and great retirements, it can also lead to a lack of growth.

We often don’t hear this advice with money. We hear that scarcity is the key. I can tell you from experience, that my wealth didn’t grow until I started to question my desires to hold onto every dollar and take some risks.

In today’s episode, I will discuss…

-The honest results of being broke in the past

-How to identity the way your financial past impacts your financial future

-An exercise to help you to let go of fear and anxiety around money to live a fuller financial life

You might’ve heard that there is no right or wrong way to be an entrepreneur; there are only downfalls. Downfalls that often can be described as a risk.

The financial model of your business is one area that can increase the risk of your business.

One contract businesses are businesses that seek out one contract to produce the revenue. While this can be a great place to start, you may find that the risk profile of this financial model leaves you feeling uneasy.

You can see one contract businesses with

  • Nonprofit grants
  • Consulting
  • Sole proprietors
  • Wholesale products

In this episode, I will discuss…

  • The financial risk profile of one contract businesses
  • How to reduce your risk profile
  • The best way to never have $0 revenue projections in your business
  • What to consider to keep your operation small when diversifying client base

Do you want to know how wealthy you are?” Depending on who I’m asking determines the reaction to this question.

You might be someone that’s excited to see the number. Then again, there’s a chance you know you need to make some financial changes and have decided the number might cause you anxiety.

Perhaps, a better question is…

Do you want to build wealth?” Most people would answer “YES!” to this question.

In order to build wealth, you need data. The data is your starting place, which is understanding your net worth.

It’s really hard to create a wealth building plan without knowing where to start. That is where your net worth comes in and becomes a launching plan to help you increase wealth. If you want a road map to your wealth journey, you need a starting point.

Understanding your current net worth will stop you from taking in every wealth building strategy out there and narrow down on the ones that work for your current state.

In this episode, I…

  • Explain the three reasons why your net worth is important
  • Breakdown the formula for your net worth
  • Walk you through a case study to determine your net worth
  • Discuss how you can improve your net worth

When I started Jones Coaching Group in 2018, I quickly ran into a problem. I was looking for business advice online and there was a persistent dominant voice. It came from someone who got their working energy from being in front of the camera, on stage, and engaging with tons of people at once.

The problem…

I didn’t get my working energy that way. In fact, I’m the opposite. I’m an introvert and though I love to be around people, I get my energy from solo time. What was I supposed to do?!

Unfortunately, I didn’t get my answer in 2018. It took six years of trial and error to strike a better balance between me in my business. Yes, yes, I am the type of person that can push through. I actually love that about myself. However, you get to a point where you can’t push all the time.

If you don’t already know, your business will grow with the amount of mental and emotional availability you have. That is why understanding my introverted needs has been the key for me to not become burned out, while continuing to improve my business.

In this episode, I am…

  • Giving introverts like myself the advice I wish I had in 2018
  • Providing particular steps and business strategies to keep your battery recharged
  • Pushing against some of the advice you’ll hear online about what makes a business successful

A lot of us aspire to achieve an 800+ credit score. I get it! I built my credit score from the low 600s to 800s and doors opened for me in ways I only dreamed.

· I never felt like I would be turned away from what I want

Having a high credit score is empowering, so we work very hard to get there. Along the way though, we hear misconceptions of what truly is impacting our credit scores.

In today’s episode, we'll talk about…

· Three common misconceptions I hear about credit scores

· How these misconceptions can impact your financial growth in other ways

· My credit score story

Whether you want to build a side business to keep while you continue along your current career path or you want to build a side business to use as an exit from the 9-to-5 world, you will eventually be confronted with the task of how to make time.

Unfortunately, businesses don’t come together by merely thinking about the ideas. Those ideas must be unlocked by taking action. Therefore, you will need to create time in your week to dedicate to this new business.

One of the questions I get often is:

“How did you build Jones Coaching Group while working a demanding job?”

It helps that when I really want something, I develop tunnel vision. If you ask my husband and parents about what I was like when I was building my business, they'll tell you that I was consumed. Being consumed with a money goal can get you the results you want quicker. The truth is, I committed to creating time every single day for my business. What were the results?

Before I left my successful career as a management consultant, my business generated enough profit monthly to pay for all my bills and spending. This would not have happened if it weren’t for the business knowledge I acquired along the way, but most importantly the time I dedicated to working on my business creating concrete results.

In this episode, I share six time management tips that you can use to juggle your current career and your new business.

A couple weeks ago, I did an audit on my financial coaching business. I was looking for all the small expenses that we didn’t notice. The results?

I found over $250 a month going out of the door. That’s $3,000 a year.

That’s pretty significant money, right?! You can take an amazing vacation each year with this money!

That spending led me to do this podcast episode on frugality and wealth building. I went over to my wealth plan and typed in the numbers. If we shift this money over to our investments, at retirement age we will increase our net worth by another $675,000 and yearly spending in retirement by $18,300.

That’s powerful!

We often hear financial gurus talk about unnecessary spending being the number one reason you can’t build wealth- but is that true?

I don’t think it’s that simple. Why? Because, we are going to be in this money thing for life. You should be able to enjoy your money and increase your wealth at the same time. It’s not unrealistic. I have done it and so can you.

In this episode, I am going to …

  • Discuss if there is a link between wealth building and frugality
  • What will make a bigger impact on your wealth building
  • And the balance needed to grow wealth

Back when I decided to change my financial life, I thought that paying off more than $70,000 in debt would solve all my financial problems. It wasn’t until I reached the end of that journey that I realized it would take more for me to feel liberated and confident.

There was something missing.

As a result, I decided to elevate my financial approach again.

I’m now going on six years of financial coaching, and I’ve learned there is a connection between financial confidence and financial certainty.

What most people are looking for with money is certainty is:

  • Certainty they’ll be able to retire
  • Certainty that everything will be OK if they lose their jobs
  • Certainty on how money works through different phases of their lives
  • Certainty of how to break away from only looking at month to month vs looking at years ahead
  • Certainty that they can pivot their financial actions to gain quicker traction

Year after year of my financial growth and coaching I recognize that to improve your financial confidence you also must elevate your financial knowledge.

I have found that there are three money skills that will greatly improve your financial confidence, which opens the door to certainty.

In this episode, I will share with you those money skills that will change your financial life forever.

Often, when you think about minimalism you think of scarcity. There is this vision of someone counting pennies, living in a super small home, driving a very old car, and not spending much on having fun.

When I started changing my financial life, I became a minimalist. Instead of having less though, I had a whole lot more. I had more…

-Self-care days at the spa

-Lunch outings

-Personal development

-Travel

-Happy hours

While I paid off debt, I was having the time of my life. I paid off over $70,000 in debt while living a full and fun life, by using minimalist principles with a twist.

For me, being a minimalist wasn’t about having less- it was about doing more because I became incredibly good at managing my money. As the years went on, I made more and more money, leaving more left over for a bigger home, nicer car, and adventures without increased pressure or stress.

This is one of the surprises my clients experience when working with me. They make a major shift that allows them to have a full life while changing their money forever.

Today I am sharing my four inside tricks on how I put a twist on minimalist principles to live more abundantly.

Once you decide to become an entrepreneur you will start researching non-stop about what to expect. Two things usually happen…

  1. You get discouraged because you read articles that make it sound like entrepreneurship is incredibly hard.
  2. You start to get inundated with promotions saying that entrepreneurship is for everyone.

This episode is dedicated to the latter of the results of your Google search. After having a conversation with a fellow entrepreneur, I started asking myself…

“Is entrepreneurship for everyone?”

Honestly, the answer is no, but don’t get discouraged just yet. In my six years of having Jones Coaching Group, I’ve discovered that there are a few reasons why it isn’t for everyone. I like to call them “entrepreneurial realities”.

If you’ve accepted that there are certain realities to becoming an entrepreneur, you are more likely to act in the interest of your entrepreneurial dream.

In this episode, I will share with you the four realities that you need to accept in order to make your business really happen.

For some of us, we have a desire that is pulling us to get more degrees. It’s our way of feeling like we’ve reached our full potential.

But we get stuck before we ever step foot back in the classroom. Why?

It may seem obvious. We are grown now. We have:

  • Careers
  • Bills
  • Children
  • Life partners

The idea of being Dr. (fill in the blank) never leaves our minds. It's why I interviewed my incredible client Dr. Tuere Marshall, an expert on helping mature students return to college. She not only went back to school in her late thirties with a career. She also went on to get her master's and her doctorate, became an educator, is working with institutions making safe spaces for mature students, and now owns a business continuing her quest of helping people reach their full potential.

In this episode, Dr. Marshall discusses…

  • Her own personal story of going back to college
  • How to overcome adversity
  • The biggest mistakes she sees mature students make
  • How she confronted her imposter syndrome
  • And more

We have a deep discussion about how to build the strength to become a solo venturer in order to pursue your dreams.

Thank you so much Dr. Marshall for sharing your story and expertise with us.

This week, I had an incredible conversation with a wonderful woman that was afraid to retire. I wish I could say that this was a unique conversation. Retirement tends to be an elusive goal that so many people struggle to wrap their heads around.

It seems distant and far off. There’s a challenge in it that seems insurmountable for many. Yes, even the people that make six-figures a year.

After so many conversations with professionals that are afraid of retirement, I’ve noticed a few themes. There are four primary reasons they’re afraid of retirement and once you confront and create a plan to overcome those fears, retirement becomes attainable.

Listen to this episode to see if you have these fears and how to overcome them to create your retirement plan.

If you have a hard time keeping your savings account full, you’re not alone. It’s common for people to build savings and reduce it all in a month.

I see this all the time. I have the most incredible clients making six figures a year, but they have a hard time creating a practice that results in GROWING their savings account.

When you make enough money to support yourself, but you don’t see your savings grow, it’s due to a combination of your emotional relationship to money and your technical approach.

In this episode, I am going to give you five mental shifts that drive your savings growth.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to build a business focused on adventure?

  • To travel the world and get paid
  • See the most beautiful landscapes and cultures
  • Come face to face with wild animals

I have. That's why I interviewed Jennifer Idol, an entrepreneur, scuba diver, underwater photographer, graphic designer, wildlife educator, and boundary breaker. Jennifer was the first woman to dive in all fifty states and built a business that allows her to live out her dreams of adventure.

I met Jennifer a couple times over the years, since I am a part of the scuba diving world. In our last meeting, she was showing one of her underwater documentaries. Jennifer’s images are breathtaking, and her adventures are boundless.

However, even an underwater business starts somewhere and has the same realities that many entrepreneurs face.

In this interview, Jennifer discusses…

-How she schedules and organizes her time to balance ten major adventure trips a year and handle the background work of her business

-How she found the most profitable opportunities in the adventure world

-Her theory of growing with your business, which she calls the Cupcake, Birthday Cake, and Wedding Cake model

-What she wishes she knew when she started

-How she balance business with her life as a mother, wife, and adventurer.

Thank you so much Jennifer for sharing such deep insight with us. I learned so much from you!

We live in a society that praises high incomes and the acquisition of material objects. They've become a symbol of financial ease and success. There's an assumption that when someone has a high income, bigger house, nice car, and so on that they have it altogether financially. I can tell you as a personal finance expert that isn’t the truth.

Another result of seeing this as a symbol of financial well-being is we tend to compare ourselves.

Have you ever heard this quote from Theodore Roosevelt?

“Comparison is the thief of joy.”

This is especially true in finance. You can get better traction toward a financially happy and whole life by not spending most of your time comparing your financial success to others.

In this episode, I'll share more about this controversial topic as I too have suffered from financial comparison over the years only to break the spell in 2023. I'll discuss:

  • Knowing when you're comparing yourself financially
  • When and how you should use comparison to improve your finances
  • How to create your own financial joy
  • Exercises to see your financial progress

What is the number one financial dream I hear all the time?

“I want to be able to work whenever I want and have control over my time.”

Many of us don’t know that reaching this financial state isn’t as far away as we may think.

Does it take hard work? YES

Is that hard work worth it? YES

We are also confused by the timeline to reach this goal. That's because we're unclear about the difference between financial freedom and financial independence.

Financial freedom is a more accessible financial goal that results in liberation from the traditional workforce. It allows you to control your time, work, and environment.

In this episode, I will…

*Define financial freedom

  • Breakdown the financial formula that allows you to hit this goal

  • Explain my version of the three different levels of financial freedom

I've also recorded an episode on the difference between financial freedom and financial independence. To listen that episode, click here:

In 2018, I started my financial coaching business, Jones Coaching Group. It was a natural fit for me. I wasn’t confused about the service I wanted to offer at the time.

Fast forward to five plus years later, I've worked with hundreds of clients and learned so much along the way.

As I worked with clients, new clients with new financial goals emerged. One of those goals being creating a lifestyle business. Most of those incredible clients were excited about starting on their entrepreneurial journey, but they didn’t know what type of business model would fit them.

One of the reasons why people don’t start their businesses is because they don’t know what type of business will work.

Here's the truth, there is no right or wrong type of business. There is only the right type of business model for you.

You might be wondering if a coaching business is the right fit. In this episode, I will explain…

  • The coaching business model
  • The pros and cons
  • What I have experienced
  • What I wish I had known before starting my coaching business.

For most of us, retirement seems like a complete mystery. I often work with people who don’t think they can retire. We feel like we're behind. That's because of two truths about money.

  1. We don’t talk enough about money. As a result, we can’t compare ourselves to others.
  2. Retirement is complex, or is it?

Retirement is just a puzzle, a money puzzle. Therefore, when I talk to someone about their retirement, they are often surprised that they are closer than they imagined.

When you first start your business, it's natural to feel overwhelmed. Even when you are five years in, there are times when you can feel like you are keeping up with the fast-paced world of entrepreneurship.

The long list of to do’s when you start your business doesn’t end. There is only one of you and not enough time or attention to do all these tasks with great quality.

It is instinctual to consider bartering your service. Bartering is when you exchange your service or product for someone else’s service or product for free. In fact, in the beginning of your business other beginning entrepreneurs may suggest bartering.

But you must decide if this is the best option for you.

In this episode, I am going…

  • To explain bartering systems
  • What to look out for when bartering
  • And if I have ever bartered

Imagine you have tech and systems for your budding business that will make you more efficient. All of sudden, you're making money, and your time is opening up.

Maybe that one task that used to take hours to complete now only takes minutes.

OR

Maybe you are making money but with way less effort.

If you are an entrepreneur, you have been hearing that the answer to your prayers is something called automation.

But you are in the beginning stages of business and the more tech you sign up for the less money you actually make. This is a common problem amongst new entrepreneurs.

Here is one of the unspoken truths about automation. Most automation will help you make more money only if you have a bigger audience.

That doesn't mean that you can’t use some automation in your business in the beginning.

In this episode, I will…

● Explain business automation

● Why we are so tempted to automate early

● How to get the most out of automation as a new entrepreneur

● What you can automate early without seeing a decrease in revenue

If this podcast helped you reimagine automation for business ventures, please subscribe to the Money Itch Podcast. Years ago, I was working incredibly hard. Today I am still driven, but things are very different.

At that time, I was working for a company that used up every single piece of my mental energy and time. Like most of the ambitious women I work with, I was focused and giving so much to my career and earning potential that I was neglecting my internal signs.

It resulted in a stress induced illness. Then I fixed it, but the cycle remained.

I was very ambitious. I would work hard and give everything I had to my career and others, and internally I would be left with zero. I was under years of chronic stress. In my mind, there was a marriage between success and burn out.

At the time, I never met a woman that I thought was extremely successful that wasn’t busy and stressed.

This interview is what I needed to listen to many years ago. This is a conversation with the incredible Christy Nichol, a Burn Out Recovery Specialist with a biology background. She understands the connection between the body and mind.

Christy has discovered how to manage the burn out process to keep achieving and not pull back from her goals. Through her program, Burned Out to Blissed Out, she is teaching high achievers to regulate the burn out cycle and remain in control of their destiny.

She is sharing some powerful information with us.

· What is the burn out cycle?

· How you can regulate it so you can continue to be the high achiever you are meant to be

· How the body handles burn out

· How to incorporate burn out control in your everyday life

· How to get through the stress cycle faster

You can learn about Christy at ChristyNichol.com

Have you noticed every time you go to the bank, they offer you a new product?

  • Checking accounts
  • Savings accounts
  • Personal loans
  • Refinances
  • Credit cards
  • And on and on

I remember going to the bank by my office years ago. At the time, I was preparing to leave my 9-to-5 to do my business full-time. I had a habit of going to the bank every other Friday and depositing money in my “freedom” account.

I quickly became well known at the bank for several reasons. I am routined and my accounts are hefty. I also became popular because they offered me a new financial product each time I went and I would confidently turn it down. This went on for a couple of years.

Why did I turn it down? Because I knew that they made commission from every single account a customer opened. While this isn’t a negative, I knew that my banking structure was designed perfectly for me.

In this episode, I am going to share with you…

  • Why your banking structure can be the key to hitting your financial goals easier
  • Why you need to have clarity about your financial plan and the steps to get there

And how your banking needs to remove financial complexity

Aubrey is back to ask me anything she wants about business and money! It is no surprise that most of her questions are about how to be more successful on your entrepreneurial journey.

Once you decide to become an entrepreneur you are inundated with offers to improve your business. But most of those services won’t solve the very first step. Trust me when I say, proper education will accelerate your path to creating a stable and fun business. But if you choose the wrong help, you will be left confused.

You may be asking yourself “Well, what do I do?”

Let’s start off with the basics, figuring out what you want your business to look like and let the rest fall into place. That’s not to say that everything will align as soon as you’ve figured out that piece, but knowing clearly what you envision will guide you in the right direction and help you shut out the noise. From there you can find a business coach, course, or program that aligns with your vision.

In this episode, we’ll go over:

-How to discover the vision for your business

-How to get and retain clients

-Discover when you can afford to get help

-How to market your business on social media

As entrepreneurs we often admire someone else’s business success, but not every business model will work for you. Business development is a creative and personal process. While you can take pieces of someone else’s formula for success, you will add your own ingredients. That, my dear, is the magic of being an entrepreneur. You can make it tailor fit to you and your customers.

I want to thank Aubrey for bringing her amazing questions on business. If you’d like information on her legal recruiting business, please reach out to her at Aubrey@aubreyjonesgroup.com

Last year, I worked with a lot of women to help them create their dream businesses. Then toward the middle of the year I noticed a theme.

The women that want to work with me to create businesses are not looking for a new profession. They love what they do, dedicated their careers to, and pursued in their education. These incredible ladies know what they love!

So why are so many women leaving their 9-to-5 jobs to start businesses?

Let me introduce my incredible client Aubrey Jones, an expert in legal placement for women and people of color. Aubrey’s story was the same as over 50% of my business clients in 2023. She had a job that gave her joy and purpose, but she knew that she needed to pave her own path.

In this interview with Aubrey, she shares so many enlightening pieces about what it takes to become a self-employed professional. She shares her surprises and what your first year in business is truly like.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to create your own income doing what you do currently in your 9-to-5, this is the interview for you.

If you have been wondering what it takes financially to work for yourself, I have an interview for you. Today on the podcast, I interview my client Dr. Alison Parker, who has been self-employed for over thirty years.

Dr. Parker shares the intimate details of her financial journey as a self-employed professional and single mother of four children. Like many self-employed individuals, she was stuck in a financial cycle, one that didn’t include growing her personal finances.

Dr. Parker started with me when she was rehabbing her own practice while approaching her 60th birthday. She came to me to learn how to financially balance being a business owner and building a retirement plan that really works.

We restructured her finances to…

· Be able to retire

· Build wealth

· Develop a long-term reasonable financial plan that can be accelerated

· Determine her financial projections

and more.

In this episode, we share where entrepreneurs go wrong financially. This way you can start making financial pivots now or start your entrepreneurial journey without making this common mistake.

Dr. Parker is now in a completely different place financially. She shifted into a space of financial confidence which led to her expanding her practice.

Now with her new financial knowledge, she is planning on building a school in Ghana!

Her story proves that it is never too late to plan for retirement, build assets, and take your financial power back.

We're back with my client Pam, in another Ask Me Anything episode of The Money Itch Podcast. Pam asks me several questions about the emotional and technical sides of creating alternative income sources.

Building income sources outside of a traditional job is unlike any other financial goal. Out of everything I've done with money it was the hardest, but also the most rewarding. YUP, it is the most exciting financial goal I have hit!

But since it is so hard, it is also unique. There is a very good chance that the people around you haven’t truly made really good money from their side ventures. Therefore, you may have a hard time seeing that it is possible.

In this episode I unleash the secrets to building a lifestyle business and how to break the self-sabotage that prevents you from finally making GOOD Money outside of a traditional employment structure.

We discuss…

· What to expect your first year of creating an alternative income source

· Building a business based on data

· Tips to mastering marketing for your business

· How not all business models work for every business owner and client base

· How to harness your own internal power to break through your income making plateau

If you are not in finance, you might not know that each role is very different. For example, if you are in corporate finance the skills and strategies don’t translate to personal finance. Why?

It is all different. Personal finance and corporate finance often feel worlds apart. Personal finance strategies must take into consideration your life, dreams, and most importantly your relationship with money. That is the only way it will work and stick for life.

In this podcast episode, I interview a past client Pam. Pam has been in corporate finance for most of her professional career and has managed million-dollar accounts. But she came to me to devise a financial plan that actually works in her personal life. What happened? Well, her transformation was incredible, and she has come on to share and inspire you with what can happen when you tackle both the emotional and technical sides of money.

Pam shares with us…

*What it was like raising two children after divorce

*How her financial transformation opened her up to new levels

*What changed her perspective from not retiring to being certain she will retire

*How starting a new income stream is the icing on the cake

Additionally, Pam is sharing how her corporate finance knowledge is transforming accounting for her small business clients.

On January 1st 2018, I was hit with a money epiphany. I accomplished some financial goals that were starting to expand my horizons.

By then I…

  • Paid off a ton of debt
  • Increased my credit score by 300 points
  • Made my rental property profitable
  • And built enough savings to live a year without working.

But there was something missing. I still felt stuck working for someone else. On New Year’s Day I realized what was next, BUILDING A BUSINESS THAT WILL ALLOW ME TO ACHIEVE FINANCIAL FREEDOM.

Fast forward to 2020, I built a side business that was paying all my bills and spending. Best yet, I was making this money working part-time and could officially leave my job and follow my dream of being an entrepreneur.

I didn’t know it at the time, but I was creating a Lifestyle Business. A special type of business with some unique characteristics that create a low stress and a high freedom lifestyle.

Out of all my financial accomplishments, this is the one I am most proud of, and it changed my life forever.

In this podcast episode I will…

  • Explain what a Lifestyle Business is and what makes it special
  • How to know if this is the right next step for you
  • Why I choose this particular type of business model
  • And share the best question to ask yourself to get started.

We’re all given gifts and talents and want to be able to use them in ways to make a sustainable living and succeed. The thing is, sometimes these talents are wonderful ideas we haven’t yet figured out how to map and use to be the successful person we know we can be.

In this episode, meet Kim aka Kay who after needing help with a life direction of her own, decided she had a passion for helping others the way she was helped and decided on becoming a life coach.

What if:

  • I can’t afford to start my own business

  • I can’t live comfortably
  • I fail

Many of us have felt stuck in a job with a title we’ve held for years and don’t see the benefits- the finish line where we can live comfortably and control our own time. In the back of your mind there is a thought, “I’ve done this job day in, day out. I know I could do it better on my own, but how?”

Meet Maliek, my personal finance client, who realized that maybe if she built her own business, she would be able to accelerate her financial goals, including retirement. She knew that she had the capability of taking her years of experience as an employee and creating entrepreneurial magic.

After coming to our sessions, she set out to show up for herself instead of showing up for someone else. Once we looked at the numbers and created a plan for her to hit her goals without an external income source, she felt empowered to leverage her years of knowledge in her field and it would give her…

  • flexibility in her life
  • create wealth and opportunity
  • build the freedom she was looking for

Her results are amazing and have launched her into a brand new world and put her on the cusp of FINANCIAL FREEDOM!

There will always be a voice that tells us we’re not ready to jump into the next chapter that will ultimately lead to our success. However, we need to listen to the quieter voice that tells us to trust ourselves and our strengths. Listen to see how Maliek decided this was HER time and what she’s done since starting her new adventure.

Jody knew she needed money to live, to do everyday things. She never looked at money as a tool to be used to set her free…until she worked with me on her personal finances.

We all at some point have known in the back of our minds that money is useful. But, at what point do we realize that money can be powerful?

In today's interview, you’ll hear Jody’s story. Jody had been going to her sessions with me for a short amount of time before she understood what power money really holds. What we did together helped her understand this a lot faster than she imagined! This happens to a lot of my clients.

Why?! They finally are getting the knowledge to make their money work for them.

Before Jody came to me she knew she wanted to:

  • buy a forever home
  • retire
  • build cash reserves

And guess what?! Jody accelerated all of her goals, hitting most in a matter of months after working together.

Jody told me “It wasn’t until I met you Kendall that a whole new light was shone on how money can be a tool that can benefit you- whatever stage of life you’re in.”

A lot of people believe they won’t reach a certain amount of success in terms of money because they’re starting this journey later in life. Age is NOT a factor when you become financially liberated. You can make your money work for you whenever you’re ready to begin. I’m just glad she picked up on this when we worked together.

Jody is a book of knowledge now with her understanding of money and how it works for her and will continue to work for her in the years to come.

I invite you to listen to her amazing realization and thank her for sharing her story.

We are not our past financial stories.

Let me repeat myself.

We are not our past financial stories.

I tell my clients this all the time. Through our work together, they learn to use the financial pain of the past to launch themselves forward. HOW? Through advanced financial strategies.

Today, I share with you my client interview with Celeste. Celeste is wonderful! Like many of my clients, she went through tremendous financial hardship in the past, but her financial life has changed in a matter of months.

Celeste’s past includes,

  • Becoming a widow with young children
  • Bankruptcy
  • Losing her home to foreclosure
  • And other financial losses

When she came to me, she already made so much financial progress, but it was time for a shift. One away from the old financial strategies to strategies that she could leverage to see real financial growth quickly.

Celeste went from, “I don’t know if I will be able to retire.” to moving fast on our plan. This resulted in…

  • Retirement in a few years
  • Purchasing her forever home
  • Having tremendous financial security

Most importantly, she has made the shifts that are putting her deeper and deeper into financial freedom. She is now seeing a wider vision to her financial life and stepping into alternative income streams.

THIS HAPPENED IN A MATTER OF MONTHS NOT YEARS!

She is open and transparent in her interview, and we thank her for sharing her story and inspiring us all!

It is inevitable. It doesn't matter if you are a new or seasoned entrepreneur, we all reach a hard point where we start to ask ourselves, "Is this dream really going to come true?" We ask ourselves this question even more in the beginning.

The way you respond will be the deciding factor between you building a sustainable flourishing business that supports you or not.

If someone tells you their first year of business was smooth and easy, there is a big chance that they have completely forgotten the what it was like. But I didn't forget my first year. There were several hurdles along the way.

Since we work with between 25 to 30 people a month on their businesses and finances, I am confronted all of the time with the uncertainty entrepreneurs feel. It is a part of the process, one in which we don't talk about enough.

Today I want to share with you what it really takes to push through in business.

In this podcast episode, I will share the...

  • Three times in my first year when I was hit with a major issue in my life that impacted my business
  • How business can support your goal of financial freedom
  • Two powerful emotional tools that every entrepreneur needs

Quick Note: There is some light cursing in this podcast. LOL!

It was a hard decision, but I have spent the last few months discovering what I really want next in money. By the end of 2023, I can retire early before the age of 40. BUT… I have decided not to, and I am shocked by my decision.

I recorded this episode after going to the park, drinking a cup coffee, and making the final decision. This is the message that is in my heart.

In this episode, I will share my reflection and so much more. I will talk about…

  • The difference between Financial Freedom and Financial Independence
  • My financial make up that allows me to retire before 40
  • What has changed my mind (by the way it isn’t what you think)
  • What you really need to focus on to get financial freedom
  • How I have used money as a tool for peace, ease, and living a passionate life

Yes, it is true. According to a stat released by CNBC in 2022, 47% of six-figure earners are living paycheck to paycheck. It makes you feel …

  • weighed down
  • hopeless
  • and stuck

… just reading it. And that is why I am encouraging you to turn off the financial news and get a new narrative!

I was recently in a meeting with ten incredible women and we touch on the financial narratives and how they could be doing us a disservice.

The best way to believe that you can change your financial life is reeducation and better messaging. The messaging allows us to change our mental state so that we can make a path for advanced financial strategies to take hold.

THIS IS HOW YOU WILL LEVEL UP YOUR FINANCIAL LIFE. Not by reading the news and internalizing market fluctuations and the poor state of financial forecasts.

I have had this conversation a lot lately and therefor I wanted to share with you,

  • What the difference is between wider truth and your reality
  • How six-figure earners could be making major mistakes
  • How to change your financial narrative
  • And the conversations I have had lately that are proof of how the shift can open up new doors.

I hope you enjoy this episode. If you want to learn more about how you can make more shifts as a high earner, click here to schedule a consultation.

Most of the time... wait let's be honest. All of the time, financial change to improve your money in the areas of credit scores, savings, retirement, and debt focuses on the technical. The experts often leave out the emotional piece.

But here is the secret to accelerating your financial change- The essentials to financial change is a combination of technical and emotional.

The experts leave this out.

But there is also a dominant voice that is overpowering the financial improvement industry. It is one that...

  • Talks down to you
  • Disciplines you
  • And even punishes you for your past financial decisions

You might know what I am talking about.

I have a different voice. A voice that I use with my clients. My voice is about support, non judgement, and inspiration. This is a voice that empowers you to make those technical approaches become a normal way of life. Today I want to share this voice with you.

You don't need to be punished for your past financial decisions. You deserve respect.

On today's episode I am going about...

  • Why the negative voice doesn't work
  • The long-term impact of using a negative financial voice
  • How to remove yourself from a place of punishment
  • The answer to moving from a prison sentence to financial confidence

On January 1st 2018, I stood on the top of a ski slope and wondered, why can’t life be like this all the time. That one thought led to my next big financial goal, building a lifestyle business.

You want to know the question I get all the time,

“How do I create a business that pays me well, but I don’t have to work a lot?”

I had that same question in 2018 and I accomplished the goal in 2020. Now I am doing what I love everyday, have a ton of time of my hands, and make a great income.

Today I did something I little different. I recorded my podcast and made the video available on my business’ Facebook page. In the video you can see my excitement as I talk about one of my favorite money goals, entrepreneurship.

In this episode I talk about...

  • How I came up with my business idea
  • What a lifestyle business is
  • Why creating a business is the hardest, but most satisfying financial goal
  • And the trap you don’t want to fall into when creating your entrepreneurial dreams
  • If you want to listen to my last masterclass: Conquering Your Money Personality To Grow!, click here.

In the end I offer a new option to work with me. You can schedule a free consultation to talk about the offer I mentioned at the end of the episode. Click here to access my calendar.

In celebration of my 4th year in business, I gathered a group of lovely ladies together to teach them about the fours types of money personalities I am seeing lately and how to conquer what is holding them back from going for that important money goal. Many of the women saw themselves reflected in the personalities and how their actions might be preventing them from moving forward.

If you don't confront how you are personally relating to money you will never have the springboard for real financial change!

This is still something I deal with when leveling up my financial approach to hit my next goal. As I move from one goal to another, new money personalities develop. I have to confront and conquer them. Now it is your turn to conquer what is holding you back from saying yes to the next financial level.

If you want to talk to me further about what is holding you back send an email to kendall@jonescoachinggroup.com.

I am so excited!

In August I will be celebrating 4 years of being in business!

That is 4 years of helping people…

  • Increase investments
  • Pay off debt
  • Build large cash reserves
  • Improve credit scores
  • Get raises and promotions
  • Qualify for investment properties
  • Purchase their first homes
  • Create businesses
  • Increase business revenue while decreasing their workload

Now after 4 years, I am seeing my clients transition from fixing to advancing. They are wanting more, and they know their financial habits are the key to opening new possibilities!

The way you understand money could be the difference between,

“I HAVE to go to work today.” (Frowny Face)

Or

“I GET to go to work today.” (Happy Face)

What am I talking about? I am talking about how you make your money and where that money comes from.

Many people believe that earning more will solve all their financial problems. Well, that isn’t necessarily the case.

It is not as much about what you earn, but how you approach money to build more freedom, ease, security, and space in your life.

In this week’s podcast, I talk about reimagining you’re earning to remove the limitations.

There are so many ways to earn more money. But if you want more freedom the way you decide to increase your income must be aligned with your ultimate goals.

  • This is a more advanced approach to money.
  • This is a message that transcends the basic approaches of making more.
  • This is about leveling up your financial approach to give you more financial autonomy!

Do you want choices?! The way you earn more money can impact your life every single day.

If you are an entrepreneur, this message it for you too! The way you earn money can create stability and predictability.

What am I talking about?

I am talking about diversifying your income and owning the source.

Listen to this week’s episode to hear:

  • How to reimagine the “riskiness” of entrepreneurship
  • How to add this strategy to your comprehensive financial approach
  • Why this was my hardest financial goal, but the most satisfying

I am creeping up on four years of working with people to change their financial lives. Over those years I have noticed three essential elements that stop them from hitting their goals.

This is what I call the Three Ps To Fixing And Leveling Up Your Financial Life.

These are the essential elements that you need to see dramatic financial change.

The Three Ps combine technical and mental approaches to money for you to have the biggest chance of success.

Many people don’t understand where they fall flat but feel the impacts of not being able to hit their financial goals. If you want to have a chat about where you stand, click here to schedule a free consultation with me.

I have over a 90% success rate with my clients. Each one of those success stories reflect the Three Ps I am sharing with you in this week’s podcast.

So, I know you are curious about what they are. Well, here you go!

  • Planning
  • Persistence
  • Patience

These are the three elements that are going to led to dramatic financial change.

Think about these three elements and really ask yourself, “What do I need to work on?”

It doesn’t matter if you are just starting to make financial change or ready to move onto the next step, these Three Ps are the key.

And when you are not seeing your efforts come together you are missing one of the Ps or don’t know how to strengthen that element.

Listen to this week’s episode to get all the details and learn:

  • How the Three Ps can be used to see the financial change you desire
  • The definition and role of each P
  • How to combine the technical approaches of money with the mental approaches
  • What you can do to start strengthening your weakest element

I know you are a little confused about what financial standards are going to give you more choices in life.

I hear it all the time.

In fact, many people I talk to feel a little stuck.

They are stuck in their…

  • Jobs
  • Businesses
  • Cities
  • Homes

Believe it or not, your decision to make a change is all because of money.

I didn’t realize this when I started my financial journey years ago, but I was often working jobs I didn’t like and living in places that left me uninspired because of my money issues.

Money and how you use it can either give you permission to make a change or take the options for change off the table completely.

That is why I am sharing with you four financial standards to live by to create more choices in life.

These standards will allow you to make pivots when you want to and open up a new world of possibilities.

Today I wanted to give you some fuel to create a new life by leveraging one of the most powerful assets you have, your property.

The idea came to me after having several conversations with people who are feeling stuck by the properties they own.

Then I came across an article about a couple that moved from a major city to Portugal and leveraged their property to make it happen. WOW! What an adventurous life!

When we think of money, we often separate its functionality from its power to redesign our lifestyles. Assets are a powerful tool in lifestyle redesign! If you know how to use them, they will allow you to live a more exciting, easy, and full life. Trust me!

But we often don’t know how to use them. We don’t realize that they can be the key to creating more space in our lives.

Your property can be the key to so much more of what you want.

In this week’s episode, I am going to talk about:

  • Using your assets for lifestyle design
  • What kind of money mindset can lead to more freedom and choices
  • Why we are stuck when it comes to property ownership
  • How you can leverage property to create a new lease on life

Do you want to make some money changes quickly? Well I have the thing for you! Head over to my FREE challenge https://www.moneykickstartchallenge.com/. Spend three days changing your money habits.

How many times in a week, month, or even day do you think what you want is too expensive?

Do you want to know one of the top five questions I get a week?

Kendall, do you think buying this is too expensive?

Oh, the word expensive! It is riddle with such heavy weight and negative perception. We hear it all the time! The way we feel about our spending is filled with so much guilt.

Well today in this week’s podcast episode I am teaching you..

  • How to define the word expensive
  • Determine if what you want is too expensive
  • And finally help you to understand the word expensive is relative

Even better, I am going to share with you how you can make financial shifts to redefine expensive by improving your financial life.

I know you are hearing you shouldn’t buy this or that all the time. But the answers are in the numbers, not someone’s perceptions of what is and isn’t valuable.

At the end of the day, you need to know that your “expensive” purchases are not impeding your financial growth.
