Dan isn’t sure but there are some good points raised re the owners trying to jib the players and the players ending up being voluntary workers. Why don’t we get trade rumours like we get soccer transfer rumours. The Tefldon Don Peter Chiarelli makes an appearance for the first time in a long time and of course he brings us all joy. Is he employed anywhere right now? Lindy Ruff is the new guy in New Jersey and while surprising maybe there could be other factors at work. Dan heard a great rumour about the Molson family and the Penguins and hopefully its true because we all love pettiness. Dan has two hot takes for Will that are always bubbling around his head and he lets them loose. One involves Erik Karlsson and the other involves Martin Brodeur. Wills hot take involves the misery of a young man. All this and the usual buffoonery.

The Buffalo Sabres are in a real tailspin. We don't get why Billionaires don't have any money left after only ten weeks of no income. How close are the Sabres to becoming the new Sens? We should remember the good times though for Jason Botterill. Honestly there was at least one. Pavel Datsyuk is apparently locked up in a monastery with a guy who has some real choice pictures on the wall. It looks like a conspiracy involving chopping wood is also afoot. 12th June 2020 – This week Dan and Will talk about the Diversity Alliance. What it can hopefully accomplish and who is involved. Will it be able to hold the league to account? The NHL is also starting an inclusion council which sounds to us like it’s a bunch of white people telling players of colour what to do. We hold out hope though as it may have taken the league an age to catch up but at least it is on the way now. The league did however release a video of Tyler Seguin and his amazing social media interactions. I assume that’s what it was for because that’s how it came across. Could a Hart trophy winner be a goalie again? Probably not if your name is Connor Hellebuyck. Why? Because his name isn’t Carey Price or Dominik Hasek. In all seriousness though There hasn’t been a clearer Hart trophy winner in all senses of the award in a long time. His figures are insane. We talk about the confederate flag and why people care about it. Obviously we don’t know. A little tickle into NASCAR and why do people enjoy watching cars on a track? The Ottawa Senators foundation is no longer a part of the Ottawa Senators because of course it isn’t. This leads to speculation about vampires and paying off billion dollar court cases. Tyson Barrie was sick of all the short jokes and loads of other guff.

Thankfully hockey took a back seat this week to more pressing issues. The continued fallout of the George Floyd murder. The continued protests against the police and the racism issues it has. We also discuss the players and team statements that seemed wishy washy from some to well thought out from others. Do we expect too much from players who are shielded from the outside world for so long. We discuss our lives and how we have approached living in a predominantly white area. Kendall Coyne-Schofield draws some ire out from us for her tweets and so called apology tweet. We have a little bit of hockey news. The playoffs will be reseeded and it will be interesting to see what match ups that throws together. Would the owners try to insure a change in the CBA by inserting some kind of pandemic clause. All that and a bit more stuff.

They all seemed impossible to us so we proposed some of our own which seemed way more sensible. The victory press had a brilliant article on conditions for players in the NWHL. It was incredibly eye opening and may break the Geneva convention. We then re-up on the Leipsic comments after someone in Canada pointed out something to me that we missed. 3rd April 2020 – This week Dan and Will wonder how NHL players are getting on having to take care of their kids. They re-live a classic Dustin Brown quote that is still baffling to this day. The NHLPA players poll is out and boy is it useless. As always. Why can’t podcasts have decent sound quality? The push up challenge is proof that NHLers can’t have original thoughts. We talk about last weeks draft that we did and the interesting point that came out of it after we put it to the public. It appeared that only two players made a difference in the whole thing. This weeks draft is any player drafted between 2010-19. Positions had to be picked for. No taking 6 left sided Dmen. Once a player is taken he is gone and once a year has been chosen from that year is unavailable until the rest of the decade has been picked from. E.g. Will takes a player from 2016. 27th Mar 2020. This week Dan and Will look at the madness of Tiger King on Netflix. Seriously everyone, watch this show. A smooth recap with hockey players killing time. Doc Emerick is struggling without his regular day job. Why we respect players in sports who decide to live and play abroad and why it is risky esp for hockey players. The main event is draft time. We conduct a draft but only with European players. Draft rules apply. Once a player is taken he is off the board and you must draft players in their correct position. You can’t take 8 centres and stick some of them on the wing. We love doing these and this was no different. Some big surprises from both of us which leads this turning into an appreciation of GM’s work at the draft if a curveball gets thrown your way. Awesome player nicknames. We also discussed a few players who didn’t make the cut. Wills nickname from back in the day. I’m still working so throw a 5 star review on for me. 9th Jan 2020 – Happy new year everyone. This week Dan and Will discuss the world juniors. Smooth recap. We pat ourselves on the back a little bit regarding the Preds. We are very surprised at the John Hynes hiring but can we poo poo after what happened to the Blues last year? Torts has been fined again but Dan thinks Torts could turn the tables somewhat. Should the Sens protect Thomas Chabot or play him to death. Evidence suggests one of the is happening. The Habs draft poorly in the first round but as Will points out not all teams draft that well. Even the Habs assistants are jacked. Will enjoyed the winter classic as you would expect. Makar was a surprise choice at 4 overall in his draft and he wasn't even predicted top ten. Honka and Puljujarvi are not coming back from Europe anytime soon and Mark Borowiecki is a superhero. Why did Charlie McAvoy take so little. Are the Jacobs making a cult? Should I be even typing that? Brayden Point is terrifying and isn’t being paid that way.
