The Prayer Stream is a small group of people from our churches, who are committed to praying for the outworking of the Mission Area partnership of Fromeside Benefice and Yate Parish, in all its diversity throughout its community. We believe that Prayer undergirds everything we do and are, as a community of seekers of the Christian faith.
During the lockdown due to the pandemic, Prayer has continued in a very proactive and creative way- from online to public ‘restricted’ service provision, confidential prayer chain- to a landline phone connection for those without WiFi. This weekly phone in ‘Time with God’ - not a chat line, has been a successful ‘extra’ resource presented ‘live’ by various members of our team- Wanda, MIKKI and myself, and a sample is now available for you to listen.
As we mention every week- if there is anything from the prayer/reflection that affects you to discuss further, then leave your contact details at either the Yate or Fromeside Parish office, and someone will contact you. Please lookout for more prayer resources during the coming months, to help build up our common missional purpose, of growing in faith and purpose in the strength of Jesus Christ.

Hywel and Justin brings you a quick update on the future of the Connection Podcast. We will be back
This week we were supposed to talk about small missional communities and how they can be mutually accountable. Trouble was Hywel got sent away on a course to Berkshire all week. While away he met up with Ian and they talked about his faith story. During the discussion, they ended up discussing Ian's post Alpha group and how through mutual accountability his faith flourished. Strange how God's plan works out.
This week we listen to Bob the new Curate in Fromeside talk about his journey from Atheism to Christianity. It was recorded at their new service held in the St Micheal's rooms on the second Sunday of the month at 6:30 pm. Each month they will interview different people about their faith and we will record some of them and put them up on the podcast.
This episode explores this passage from the book of James “My brothers and sisters, you are believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ. So treat everyone the same. 2 Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes. And suppose a poor man in dirty old clothes also comes in. 3 Would you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes? Would you say, “Here’s a good seat for you”? Would you say to the poor man, “You stand there”? Or “Sit on the floor by my feet”? 4 If you would, aren’t you treating some people better than others? Aren’t you like judges who have evil thoughts?”
