As we're all locked down, I realised an idea I had a while back to catch up with Steve Hawkins, one of Lincoln's most interesting residents.
Steve moved to Lincoln in the mid-90s following several tours of the globe with the likes of SWANS, Dinosaur Jnr. Spotting a gap in Lincoln's live music scene (there wasn't one) he decided to set up The Bivouac, a venue within the now-closed Duke of Wellington pub on the city's Broadgate.
Steve went on to run the venue for another 9 1/2 years and not only helped many start their music careers and forays into performing, but also booked bands from across the world to come to the small, but welcoming city.
Here we talk about memorable times there, Steve's booking and touring past and some of the people integral to the scene as it developed, as well as some of the bands that played the venue before they were world-famous.

Gilmore Trail & Friends - 'Stoneage Dinosaurs', out now on Chasmata Records - [Note, this track was originally written by Tim Smith of the little known but much adored band Cardiacs. Since 2008, Tim has been living with dystonia, a neurological condition which has effectively trapped his mind in a less-than-responsive body.
This tragically means that Tim can no longer write or perform music, nor can he lead what many would call a "normal life". However, with the help of some rather expensive treatment, there is hope that Tim's health and quality of life could improve.

Two old promoters talk about metal, stoner and doom gigs from a decade ago. Jason used to run Team Tall Promotions, whose weekenders have gone into myth as being some of the best Sheffield ever had. He also bought many names to Sheffield over the years that have remained friends since. Mike and Jay helped each other out over the years, spreading the word about shows and even collaborating on a few ideas and shows too.
