The law was not given for the righteous, but for the unrighteous, to reveal man's sinful nature, in order for him to see the need for God's Grace toward him. He emphasis that the letter kills, but the spirit gives life, since the law was given to reveal the knowledge of sin. He points out that the law was serving as a mirror, for sin as to appear as sin, hence one could not be justified by the law. He reads in the scripture in Romans 7:13, "Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, it might appear sin, producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful.

In these days lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of water. For an angel went down at a certain time in the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disese he had. Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty - eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?" The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while i am coming, another steps down before me." Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath.

It rained for such a long time, and flood covered the whole of the earth destroying all life as God had promised. Noah and his family was saved by God's grace. To day just as in times of Noah, the Pastor reminds us that the scriptures say only by Grace and Grace alone will God save those who believe in him.
