In this week’s message, we look at Queen Vashti and explore the power of One Right Choice. We never will fully realize how God can flow through and use the right choices that we make and how they can create a domino effect for God’s Glory to be revealed.
As we continue to look at the life and times of Esther, we see how God is still at work even when the circumstances around us look break. We find hope in knowing that God is in control and is doing more than what we can ever see in a moment.
This Sunday began a new theme looking at Godly Purpose in the light of difficult circumstances through the life of Esther. In this first installment, we look at how God sometimes speaks the loudest through opportunities. If we will embrace the fact that God places the right people, at the right time, in the right location we can see how owning the moment God gives us leads us straight to our purpose.
Life Comes At You Fast. In the final installment of this theme, we examine a story from the life of David and how God brought him through a progression of steps to relieve stress during a difficult time. God will take us through the same steps as well to allow us to have the rest, clarity, and energy needed to confront any stress filled moment.
As our state and nation wrestles with Shelter in Place orders designed to limit the spread of COVID-19, we examine as a church how Christ used isolated situations to reveal himself and his glory. Kicking off the theme, we look at how Christ revealed himself to his disciples with an uncommon cure to fight uncommon fear.
Looking at Psalms 91, we find how we can lock our lives into the rhythm of faith and find safety, security, and rest in the shelter of the Almighty God.
In this special Easter Sunday message, we look at the story of Thomas. Thomas had doubts. We have doubts. Christ, however, encountered Thomas in such a way as to stir faith to replace every doubt and still speaks those same them es to us during this time.
When your dream demands you wait – 2 years passed and joseph sat in a jail. With no update from God and no update in circumstances to provide hope, Joseph was forced to wait. God will take us to moments where we must wait on his timing for the fulfillment of our dreams as well. In these moments, are faith is tested like never before and we must hold on to what God last told us and allow our faith to develop through patience and perseverance.
When you put the dreams of others before your own – One last tests Joseph had to face was to help others with their dreams while he was still waiting on the fulfillment of his. We will face the same test. We must embrace the fact that we are never more like Jesus when we do this….as it shows full trust in the plans that God has for our lives while we take care of the people in our paths who need help. Like Joseph, we never know how our actions and help today will have an impact on our dreams tomorrow.
Working the dream but not at the level you dreamed of – Joseph had a dream that he would one day have rulers bow down before him. That he would be in charge of nations and have great influence. Instead, he found himself asked to be in charge of the prisoners while he was in prison himself. It could have been easy for him to become bitter working in his giftings while not at the level he knew he was destined for. We face the same tests along the way toward our dreams with God looking to see if we will be faithful, even in the small things. Only then can he trust us with greater.
The biggest temptation of dreams - Joseph was living with Potiphar and was finally becoming prosperous. Potiphar’s wife offered Joseph a chance to live a portion of his dream through an easy choice compared to the uncertainty of having all the dream fulfilled through a difficult choice. Today, dreamers face the same temptation. When faced with this choice, we can learn a lot from the life of Joseph and set in our hearts to “run.”
When the lights go out – There comes a time in any dream where the unexpected blow happens, designed to knock us out in one instant. This happened to Joseph when his brothers betrayed him and threw him in a well to die. When these events happen in our lives, like Joseph, we must be willing to look to the good no matter how small it may come and how unusual the relief comes. God will work all things for His glory, for our good, and will fulfill our dream if we will stay faithful even when the lights go out.
The obstacles of dreams – In working toward our dreams and waiting on their fulfillment, there are two common obstacles that will arise: our own immaturities and the harmful choices of others. Like Joseph, these obstacles exist to cause us to doubt our identity and our ability to hold on to the dream till the end. It’s in these times where we must hold on to the character and promise of the person who gave us the dream in the first place. God’s plans for our lives will come to fruition and fulfillment based on His word and nothing else.
When people hate your dream. – Our God given dreams can create insecurities in people, as it highlights their own circumstances and the hidden state of their heart. We cannot afford to be discouraged when other people don’t understand or celebrate what is in our heart. Looking at the life of Joseph and his brothers, we see how we keep our dream alive by looking at the source of the dream itself and not through our social circumstances.
Who is worthy of a dream? It can become easy to assume that the only people worthy of a dream come from ideal environments and with ideal circumstances. Looking at the history and background of Joseph, we find that he was the unlikeliest one to be given a dream and find hope knowing that God chooses us not based on our worth, but based on His goodness.
As we kick off the new year, our pastor shares the vision of “Together” and how this impacts the upcoming season at Radiant in both spiritual and practical ways.
The fuel source of Joy. To experience Joy, we cannot rely on unreliable fuel sources such as our circumstances and what we can experience with our responsive systems alone. Instead, through faith, we can see that in God’s presence is fullness of Joy!
The focus of Joy. If we are to experience Joy we cannot be distracted by cares and concerns that, while real, are truly out of our control. To experience sustainable Joy, we have to constantly train and tune our focus to see the source of all Joy in our everyday lives and routines. When Christ is at the center, we have everything we need.
The process of Joy. As we study the scriptures, we find that joy can have suffering in the mix. While no one enjoys suffering, it still can have a purpose if allowed to run its course God’s way. The end result of suffering can be Joy if we keep our eyes focused on Christ.
The direction of Joy. Joy is not found by looking to the past. It instead found by looking forward through the lens of the cross, giving us the strength and perspective we need to endure with joy, despite difficult circumstances.
Be richly remembered. Life is not measured by what we have that only impacts us. It is instead measured by who we have touched and the lives we have reached. Christ set the example by giving all he had to reach as many as he could. That was his legacy. We are called to do the same. Only then are we truly rich.
Be rich in thanksgiving. In a society that is extremely negative, giving thanks is a skill that needs to be cultivated in our lives. This does not mean that we ignore the problems or live in naivety, it means we still choose to give thanks in spite of all we see. When we do that, we are rich.
Limited while limitless. The lie that we can believe is that we must wait to have an abundance in order to be generous. The ways of Christ are different. So often, he wants to see if we will give even when we have little because when we do so, an attitude of generosity swells in us that can’t be contained and we can be trusted with overflow. Even in our lack, it is possible to be rich.
Be Rich In Grace. An abundance of grace does not mean an absence of justice. It just means that you take yourself off the seat of judgement and allow someone else, more righteous, to judge. Just like Christ, who showered us with grace, we can cover people in their worst moments and in their weakness. In doing so, we will find that we can be rich in grace.
The test of “I forgive you.” We can’t keep forgiveness from others and expect God to still give it freely to us. Forgiveness is not an acceptance of their actions, it is instead an awareness of the true nature of God.
The test of “no.”: Will we continue to have faith in God’s plan even when He tells us “no” around something we want and feel will be good for us? The message examines how a “no” from God will lead to a bigger and better “yes” than we could ever imagine.
The test of desire. God longs for us to desire Him and pursue Him. When we give up everything to follow and pursue Him, it is then when we truly find who we were always meant to be.
The test of comparison: So often we will either not start something or not complete something because we have fallen into the trap of comparison. This message teaches us to keep our eyes and focus on the true audience, God.
The test of the familiar. God does not exist just for our comfort and often times will bring us to places that are uncomfortable and unfamiliar to stretch our faith and get us to rely on Him.
Excellence is our Spirit – How is excellence defined? In this week’s message, we look at how it was always meant to be a journey, not a destination.
Passion is our Pursuit – What is the point of doing anything unless it is done with passion? Passion is a contagious attitude and in this week’s message, our pastor talks about the role passion plays as fuel to complete our assignments.
Honor is a Calling – Honor is a difficult thing to walk out, especially when the people we are asked to honor aren’t always honorable. In this week’s message, examine the “why” behind honor and strive to implement it God’s way.
Generosity is a Privilege – In this week’s message, our pastor teaches on generosity being defined by at attitude, not an amount.
Servant Leadership is Our Identity – What does it take to be the greatest? According to Christ, the greatest is the one who serves and in this week’s message we look at how serving others opens the doors for true purpose and fulfillment.
People are our Heart – One of the keys to any healthy relationship is showing and receiving value. In this week’s message, we look at the story of the Good Samaritan and see how taking care of the needs of others can overcome any differences and reflect the true message of Christ.
Jesus is our Message – In the kickoff to our Radiant Values theme, we examine how we will share what we experience. Looking at the story of the Woman at the Well, we see how Jesus can and should be my message.
As we kick off a new season at Radiant, we look at a passage of scripture that answers the question; “What truly matters to Christ?”
Worship as More than a Moment. In today’s culture, worship is often times described in the context of a moment. Looking at Romans 12:2, we see how it was always meant to be a lifestyle of sacrifice.
Worship In Our Journey. In every moment, in every circumstance, in where we are on the way to where we are going there is an opportunity to worship. Looking at King David, who worshiped after every six steps, we see how worshipping on the journey is just as important as worshipping at the destination.
Worship While Stuck. When we walk into situations and seasons where we feel trapped and overwhelmed, so much energy and efforts are put into getting “unstuck.” Looking at the story of Paul and Silas while imprisoned, we see how worship could very well be the key needed to walk out of the places we find ourselves in.
Worship Before the Fight. So often, we want to give thanksgiving and worship after the battle is fought. Looking at the story of King Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20:21, we see how leading with worship can secure victory.
For everything there is a season. In the last installment of this theme, we look at the timing of God and how we can hold on to His promises to be saved by the bell.
Who’s in your corner? Isolation is one of the biggest obstacles to growing in your faith and as we continue with this theme, we take a look at how having an uplifting community can make all the difference.
