Influenced by Justin Bieber’s superstardom, Bryson Tiller’s dynamic R&B/soul, and Shawn Mendes’s songwriting abilities, D. Muñoz hit the studio and recorded his first single, “Wait,” a fusion of R&B, dancehall, and trap, which he released independently in 2017. He followed that up with “Love Me,” a tender R&B song about missing an ex. What followed was a deep dive into his relationship with his “Love Me” muse. The result was the lovesick, R&B/soul-heavy EP Until Next Time, an effort that peaked on the iTunes R&B and Soul chart at No. 7. When the video for “Love Me,” which has garnered over 4.6 million views, dropped in February 2018, Muñoz cemented his place in the industry as the budding heartthrob of Colombian and Dominican descent with impeccable vocal range and a sweet, slick inclination.
Muñoz signed to Triangle Offense/Epic Records in April of 2018 and is now preparing for the release of his first major label EP, Moments, due out in early 2020. Focusing on “the moments that define us and make us grow,” says Muñoz, the EP explores lust, longing, and loneliness, and sees production from Jorgen Odegard (Pink, Imagine Dragons).

From barefoot dreadlocked troubadour to suave standard-bearer for contemporary R&B. Eric Benét may have changed his look, but one thing has remained consistent: his dedication to crafting authentic music that engages the soul. “I’m not chasing any current whatevers,” says Benét, a four-time Grammy Award nominee. “It’s about music that gives me goose bumps and touches my soul. That’s always been a good barometer for me.”
Case in point: the singer-songwriter’s latest top 5 Urban AC single, “Sunshine.” The pure soul/R&B track provides the perfect backdrop for Benét’s heartfelt reflections on a relationship that has lost its spark. The hit has since sparked a remix version featuring Tamia—the singer’s memorable duet partner on his career breakthrough hit, 1999’s “Spend My Life with You.”
“‘Spend’ is almost like the national anthem vocally,” notes Benét. “You’ve got to have so much in your arsenal to successfully sing it. Not many singers can do that. But Tamia is all that and more. So it was such a joy to reunite with her on the ‘Sunshine’ remix.”Both tracks are featured on Benét’s eighth studio album. The self-titled, 13-song project, available Oct. 7 from Jordan House/Primary Wave Music, once again showcases the depth of the singer-songwriter’s musical scope. “Sometimes it’s almost like artists pick a color and stay with that for most of an album,” says Benét. “I don’t like to do one-note albums.”

He’ll speak of his gospel upbringing—his parents were both pastors and singers; his sister, a musician. And his instrumental prowess will show him to be fluent on the piano, saxophone and drums. Signed to AyeGirl Music/Interscope Records, his debut single, “Can’t Trust Thots” features label mate and wildly successful rapper, French Montana, while cleverly paying musical homage to artists such as TLC and BBD. His smooth vocals are gripping and the upbeat record fits seamlessly into any of today’s contemporary playlists.
Now, at the start of the next phase of his journey, Wash says that his main goal is to inspire. With regards to his future, he is both optimistic and fearless: he foresees a possible acting career; various partnerships and business ventures; and he hopes to one day give back to Port Arthur through the creation of an arts center. And when it is all said and done, Wash will leave an impression; both the artist and the man.

Pursuit, Passion, Purpose, Promise; four words that have shaped Trinity, making him the man he is today. Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Trinity grew up in church, coming from a family who shares a rich spiritual heritage of ministers, musicians and singers. It was upon this foundation Trinity was raised to know that God had a definite plan for his life; upon this foundation he dedicated his life to Christ, as his pursuit to discover and fulfill that plan began.
As his quest for God’s purpose continued, all roads seemed to lead toward football. By age twelve, Trinity discovered he was gifted in that area. From the seventh grade through high school, he excelled on the field, resulting in a full scholarship to play Division 1 football for the University of Toledo, where he was the starting running back each year of his college career. Even after suffering a serious injury his junior year of college, Trinity left Toledo, ranking 3rd in the school’s history books for rushing yards. Surely this was his course; he believed continuing his football career as a professional athlete was his pathway to purpose. ESPN correspondents agreed; draft scouting reports confirmed; it was apparent, Trinity was NFL-bound. But suddenly, without warning, the door shut. Football was no longer an option and now a renewed search for self-disco
Conquerors. That’s the best way to describe Mary Mary. The soul-stirring sister duo of Erica and Tina Campbell seemingly overcame it all in the last few years - winning yet another Grammy, inking a deal for season three of a groundbreaking originally scripted series, beating a vocal challenge, healing a marriage misstep, overseeing a change in management, launching a solo career for one sister and grieving the death of a parent. That’s enough to make anyone’s head spin. Yet, the sisters embraced each challenge and proclaim that this year is their best year yet.As Tina staunchly declares in her signature staccato: “Survive it. Persevere. Overcome it.”
Indeed. Mary Mary’s greatest story is that of overcoming. Thirteen years ago, no one could have predicted the far flung reach of the hit “Shackles (Praise You)” that went on to become a signature song and crossover smash. From there, Mary Mary would win four Grammy Awards, 2 NAACP Image Awards, four BET awards, two American Music Awards, one ASCAP award, and multiple Stellar & Dove Awards and release seven albums, the most recent being the multiple award winning compilation “Go Get It” ( 2012 Columbia Records, a Division of Sony Music Entertainment). Now a household name, the ladies are credited with ushering in a new generation of gospel stars solidly entrenched in the larger cultural milieu while also overtaking the pop charts.

At only four-years-old, the New York native realized his innate passion for singing. Encouraged by his “musical” family, he joined the choir in Kindergarten and enjoyed his first moment in the spotlight singing a solo at Lincoln Center during the holidays. Young Jordan also learned the drums before picking up piano and organ at age eleven followed by guitar, bass, and even clarinet. Immersed in the likes of Earth Wind & Fire and Kim Burrell among other R&B and gospel icons, he even started performing live with his dad’s band as well as playing organ at church.
“I built a great feel and vibe for soulful music,” he explains. “I really admired those artists, and they impacted my singing so much.”
Around the same time, Jordan also hit Broadway. After joining the touring production of The Lion King as “Young Simba,” he went on to star in The Color Purple. All the while, he amassed an impressive collection of songs and productions created in his parent’s basement.

Strength can often be found in the midst of struggle. It's in those moments of hardship that we fully understand who we are and what we're really capable of. Grammy Award-nominated R&B singer, songwriter, and producer Tank realized that in late 2012. While working on the TGT super group album, Three Kings, with Ginuwine and Tyrese, he simultaneously endured a string of revelatory personal shakeups.
"Those were some trying times from a relationship standpoint," he admits. "We were finally getting TGT together, and I was going through it personally. Everything was happening all at once, and it was a lot to face. I went through this headache and heartbreak, but I emerged in a better place. That's when music started coming to me. I was initially trying to hide everything behind this heavy and intense 808 vibe, and I leaned towards my strengths instead. I started playing piano and drums again as well as adding live instruments. In the past, I've only made music in the middle of a storm or on my way into one. This was the first time I made music under sunshine. I've been blessed to have a great story and testimony now."
Tank came out on the other side with that "story"—his sixth full-length solo album, Stronger [Atlantic Records]. In between releasing Three Kings and touring, he spent the better part of 2013 building his latest body of work. Whether he was on a plane, in hotel rooms, or at home in Los Angeles, he completely submersed himself in the creative process. Tank also found an inspiring collaborator in the iconic Jerry "Wonder" Duplessis [The Fugees, Shakira, Miguel]. While in Jerry's NYC studio one night, the pair simply clicked.

Even though Puma is now a family guy, he hasn't completely abandoned his old ways and finds that his quick mouth still gets him in trouble.

Born Case Woodard, R&B star Case inherited his musical gifts from his father who was once a member of 70’s funk band Cameo. The oldest sibling of 3, the New York native grew up in a strict household and although music was the bond that tied him and his father together, it would also tear them apart. Case’s solo career took off in 1996 with the release of "Touch Me, Tease Me" (with rapper Foxy Brown and R&B singer Mary J. Blige) from The Nutty Professor soundtrack, going gold and reaching #4 on the R&B charts and #63 on the Hot 100. His self-titled debut Case soon followed along with the minor R&B hit singles "More to Love" and "I Gotcha." Case followed the success of his first album with the release of Personal Conversation in 1999. The album featured the hits "Happily Ever After" (which reached #3 on the R&B charts and #15 on the Hot 100) and "Faded Pictures," (released April 20, 1999), which featured R&B singer Joe and reached #3 on the R&B charts and #10 on the Hot 100. "Happily Ever After" featured Beyoncé in the video as Case's love interest. The album's third single, "Think of You" managed to only reach #50 on the R&B charts and Personal Conversation achieved platinum status.

Tahj Mowry is the true definition of a triple threat: an accomplished actor, singer, and dancer who has worked with the entertainment industry’s top studios, musicians, and talent. At an early age, Tahj discovered his love of music and performing, proving to be a natural in the spotlight.
Music has always been a passion for Mowry and he is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches on his debut album. Mowry refers to his music as “Future Funk”, a futuristic funk/soul sound with electronic and alternative undertones.
When it comes to genre, Tahj blurs the lines between pop & rock while simultaneously fusing together the purest elements of soul. The sound is reminiscent of Michael Jackson, Prince, and Lenny Kravitz, all of whom Tahj credits as inspiration. These influences are especially evident on his first single “Walker,” which is dripping with harmonies and lyrics that would make the biggest performers of the 80’s proud. A gifted dancer, Tahj has performed in numerous music videos for stars such as Michael Jackson, Prince, and Mariah Carey. Under Debbie Allen’s choreography, Tahj also danced for three consecutive years on the live television broadcast of the Grammys and appeared as Oliver Twist in the musical “Twist.”

As interest piqued among viewers, so did Lewis’ desire to pursue his gift. And his strides are apparent. While singing for producer Donnie Scantz, he impressed industry veteran, Garnett March, and was soon signed to The Chemists. The rest is history-in-the-making as he prepares his debut album and single. With influences ranging from Chris Brown and Justin Timberlake to Michael Jackson, Lewis wants his sound and content to reflect his reality. By delving into and remaining true to his experiences as a teen, he hopes to create timeless music. And it’s exactly what he is meant to do.

Grammy®, Stellar, and Dove-award nominated singer Anita Wilson keeps Urban Contemporary music alight with her unparalleled fusion of Gospel and Soul music. First finding recognition as part of the Grammy-award nominated ensemble Donald Lawrence & Co., Wilson’s beeline to the solo stage – via her debut album Worship Soul– came as a celebrated breakthrough. Recognized by the New York Times’ Ben Ratliff as one of “2012’s top ten albums” across all genres, Worship Soul wielded the memorable hits “Jesus Will” and “Speechless” and introduced the masses to Wilson as a new frontrunner for Urban Contemporary Gospel. ?
Her sophomore album, VINTAGE WORSHIP, follows in its predecessor’s stead by unveiling a collection of masterfully crafted tunes with ingredients of classic gospel, funk, soul, pop, and R&B. Citing gospel greats such as The Hawkins, The Clark Sisters and The Winans as musical influences for the album, Wilson also drew from a well of R&B/Soul favorites like Eddie Kendricks, Lalah Hathaway, Chaka Khan, George Clinton, Bootsy Collins, Evelyn Champagne King and many more to create a melting pot of sounds.
When a new artist hits the scene, adjectives like fresh and honest frequently get thrown around when, in many instances, it’s more hype than truth. But that’s definitely not the case when it comes to Luke James .. And just who is Luke James? He’s a singer/songwriter who truly embodies the honesty and fresh, organic soulfulness that’s been in relatively short supply of late in contemporary music. Now that sounds like a pretty tall order for a newcomer to fulfill. However, the New Orleans native is very much up to the task. In fact, you’ve no doubt heard his work.
James’ real-deal approach to music and—more important—the craft of singing are the main attractions on his self-titled debut album: "Luke James” Both mark the singer/songwriter’s debut on Mercury/Island Def Jam via New Age Rock Star Records (NARS), the label helmed by award-winning producer Danja (Mariah Carey, Justin Timberlake, Keri Hilson) and long-time collaborator / mixing engineer Marcella “Ms Lago” Araica (Madonna, Pink, Timbaland). That connection hits home on James’ lead single, “I Want You.” Packed with interesting breaks and tempo shifts, the sparse yet bright track pulsates with an infectious, hip-hop-influenced beat. That foundation provides the perfect complement to James’ pure, arresting falsetto as he sings: “I was just a broken record of one-night stands /Til you came along with your beautiful song …”
Los Angeles born and bred singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger’s destiny preceded him. Grandson of Jackson 5 hit making songwriter Bobby Day, Bellinger has been singing since before he could speak. Captain of high school football team, the day came for Eric to choose between a scholarship to pursue a football career at the prestigious University of Southern California or follow his passion in music. Not long after making the difficult decision to turn down USC, Bellinger joined the R&B group aKnu (A Kind Never Understood) and was soon signed to Epic Records by two of the music industries most successful executives , Max Gousse and Tommy Motola. After experiencing success recording and touring with AKNU, Eric returned home to work on new music and discovered another passion, songwriting. The exceptionally gifted singer and rapper mastered his natural ability to instantly hear melody and rhythm under the guidance of childhood mentor and friend, Erika Nuri of The Writing Camp.
Imagine this: you’re a Grammy-nominated singer, considered one of the best vocalists of your generation, who has scored major R&B hits and been invited to collaborate with the likes of Kanye West and R. Kelly, yet some folks consider you “underrated.” This has been the plight of Syleena Johnson, acclaimed as one of the finest R&B voices to have emerged during the past decade. Having fought the major label system to allow her true identity to shine forth, Syleena now steps forward with her most personal statement to date. Her boundary-stretching fifth album, entitled, appropriately enough, Chapter V: Underrated, was released on September 27, 2011 on Shanachie Entertainment.
Syleena Johnson grew up outside Chicago in Illinois. Though she got involved with music during her high school years, initially she was discouraged from getting into the music business by her father, who had many disappointing experiences in the industry. Meanwhile her mother become the nation’s first black female police commissioner.
After her live acoustic album release performance of Chapter V: Underrated last year, Syleena was moved by her own music and decided to release the live performance as a mini-album titled Acoustic Soul Sessions, released September 25th, 2012. The mini-album includes five songs from Chapter V: Underrated; an introduction to Chapter 6: Couples Therapy which will be released on October 28th, 2014. The Powerful New Recording on the way will take us back to Syleena’s traditional R&B style. The first single, “Perfectly Worthless”, from the hit new album is now available. Syleena also adds television to her roster as a costar in the TV One hit reality series R&B Divas airing Wednesday nights at 10/9c.
Winning a BET Award for Favorite Group could be considered a career high for most any R&B singer, and Houston-born crooner Brian Angel (aka Brian Andrews) is no exception. When Day26 garnered the award in 2009, Angel and his band mates were riding high on a chart-topping album debut, critical praise and major television exposure on Sean "Diddy" Combs' smash MTV show, Making the Band.Fast forward a few years and a second hit album later, Day26 agreed to disband in 2012 to take on solo endeavors. Although the group has recently made plans to reunite for a 30 city tour, Brian Angel is well prepared for his future. Brian recently released his new singles "Mrs Parker" & "Hunnid Dollar Bill (Featuring Fat Pimp)" online on Thursday, September 18th 2014 from his debut release entitled "Day Break".
In this vast world of opportunity, dreams sometimes come true. Even in the hood. A place where, with a roll of the dice and a dash of hustler’s ambition, anything is possible. The rules of the game are as old as time. Be it cee-lo or snake eyes, chances go around. Yet with the heavy buzz surrounding his highly anticipated, widely circulated independent album Pineapple Now-Laters, it’s clear that R&B crooner BJ The Chicago Kid is on a winning streak. Flaunting a distinct vocal style that skillfully melds the soulful and the sanctified - exceedingly appraised by the likes of superstars such as Kanye West, Jamie Foxx, Stevie Wonder, Jill Scott, Kendrick Lamar, and Usher - BJ The Chicago Kid is destined to become the voice of his generation.

George Tandy Jr. creates brilliant music that is rich with honesty, vulnerability and raw emotion. He is not your typical church singing choir boy or even a classically trained vocalist or pianist but his messages are conveyed clearly and powerfully. Fans often refer to his voice as hypnotizing and pure. Each piece of music creates an inner journey to a time and place that is unique to the listener. Whether it is about sex, relationships, or worldly affairs you will feel every moment in the song. You can call it R&B, folk music or even call it jazz. Some call it soul with a hint of hip hop and note his classical music influences. No matter what you call it, you are correct every time. George personally prefers to call his music "Soulternative." From the day she discovered she had a voice that could touch millions, Olivia Longott put in long, hard hours in the studio, trying to achieve her dreams of R&B superstardom. With such royal talents, she fully deserved the title she was given as First Lady of J, the legendary Clive Davis’s label, and then First Lady of G-Unit, when she landed a second deal with G Unit/Interscope Records. Olivia quickly made it clear that she is nobody’s number two. With dual recording deals in hand, Olivia thought her dream had manifested—until she left both labels in what felt like a nightmare.
Being the fighter her daddy taught her to be, Olivia would not let these challenges hold her back from the industry. Instead, she used the experiences as a setup for something new. The world saw her jump back into the ring swinging on the Love & Hip Hop reality show. Sometimes, though, reality isn’t always what it seems. That’s why Olivia has taken the time to sit down and pen what it truly is. During her unfolding journey in the music industry, Olivia has seen, heard, and experienced a lot. Now it’s time to bring you into her world.
Full Force is comprises of 3 brothers & 3 cousins, Bowlegged Lou, Paul Anthony & B-Fine are the George brothers and Baby Gerry, Curt-T-T & J-R Shy Shy are the cousins. The actual recording & chart-production history of Full Force began in November 1984, with the release of the Hip Hop classic, "Roxanne Roxanne" by multi-talented rap group UTFO. The Guinness World Book of Records lists the song “Roxanne Roxanne” as having spawned the greatest number of answer and response recordings which started with Roxanne Shante's song “Roxanne's Revenge” which after proper legal activity was also written by UTFO & Full Force. Full Force went on to produce the next four UTFO Rap albums, including the ground-breaking "Lethal". It went to #2 on the R&B charts, and it featured the Rock group, Anthrax on the title cut.
Prior to working with UFTO, Full Force co-wrote and were the musicians on Kurtis Blow's classic hit, "Basketball" as well as other Kurtis Blow songs. Kurtis Blow was produced by the talented duo of Robert Ford Jr. & J.B. Moore. Robert & J.B. were early believers in Full Force as they invited Full Force to participate on two earlier albums of Kurtis Blow. Full Force later went on to co-produce their first three albums for Columbia Records with Robert & J.B.
Kid Ink cruises past all boundaries. The Los Angeles rapper, producer, and performer can seamlessly slip from an irresistible hook into an impeccable verse, effortlessly bobbing and weaving between the club and the streets. There’s absolutely nobody quite like the tattooed from head-to-toe impresario, and that’s the first thing you’ll notice when you take his full-length debut, My Own Lane [Tha Alumni Music Group/88 Classic/RCA Records], for a spin.
Grinding as a producer since the age of 16, he uncovered this creative highway by perfecting a personal style behind the board first. His production collaborations include everybody from Sean “Diddy” Combs, Sean Kingston, Nipsey Hu$$le, and more. That experience in the studio set the stage for him to become the versatile and vibrant force he is today.
He officially started twisting the game up when he dropped his 2012 independent album, Up & Away, which spawned his mainstream breakthrough song “Time Of Your Life.” He covered XXL Magazine as part of that year’s “Freshman Class,” while the album smashed an iTunes record by debuting in the Top 5 of the Hip-Hop Albums chart prior to release and minus any traditional promotion. Cumulative single sales from the effort exceed over 500K, while it landed at #20 on the Billboard Top 200, moving over 20K copies first-week. Piping hot from the indie success, he inked a deal with Tha Alumini Group/88 Classic/RCA Records in 2013, dropping the acclaimed Almost Home EP that same year. Time away from the spotlight can be a bad thing.
But for Chrisette Michele, it was a necessary thing. Without the break, there is a strong possibility she wouldn’t be sitting in her Williamsburg apartment on a crisp morning, excitedly talking about her brand new album, Better.
To say the album title is fitting would be an understatement. Chrisette is giddy and proud to share the name of her fourth album with anyone who asks if only because she is a living embodiment of the word. “I’ve sang a lot of broken-hearted love songs because I had a broken heart from love,” says Chrisette. “I began to write a little bit darker. And for me, dark just means a song that doesn’t have a happy ending.”
On Better, even when Chrisette is laying her heart out on a table, she sounds confident and composed. Whether it’s the emotional Prince-like balladry of “You Mean That Much To Me” or the stern warning of “Snow,” Chrisette sounds independent and resolute. Even on “Soopa” a song where she explains to her lover that she won’t always be the perfect woman, Chrisette isn’t apologizing for her flaws as much she’s telling him, take it or leave it, and if you leave it, that’s okay.
Ryan Corn might not identify himself as a craftsman, even though he’s recently taken up the hobby of woodworking, but the Cape Girardeau, Missouri, native approaches everything he does—performing,
production, audio engineering, and especially songwriting—with the same care and attention to detail as a master carpenter. Not surprising then, Wonderful Things is jam-packed with such offerings. Tracks such as R&B infused, “It’ll Be Alright,” burst with soul and emotion, a homage to one of the many genres Corn has been influenced by. Such original tunes as “Burst,” “The Only Good,” and “Always You” will surely find listeners in every format.
To listen to the songs of Marie Miller is to know this impressive new Curb artist, a triple-threat talent — singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist — who’s poised to become one of the breakout stars of 2013. Just as Miller insists on writing from true experience, her music blurs the lines in defining her style. She aims only for the right musical bed for her lyrics, crafting songs that appeal across many genres. Such original tunes as “You’re Not Alone,” “To Be Loved,” “Unconscious,” “Fall Alone,” and “6-2” will likely find listeners in every format from Triple A, Americana, front porch folk to nuegrass to country and classic pop. Growing up in the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia, the third of ten children, Miller began singing at the age of seven. At “the ripe old age of twelve,” she joined her family band, playing festivals and churches, and trading off lead and harmony vocals in duets with her sister Justina, with whom she was billed as the Miller Sisters. Their parents backed them up on guitar and upright bass, as Marie played mandolin, guitar, and eventually bouzouki.
Born and raised in Memphis, Jozzy grew up immersed in music. With her mother a part of Willie Mitchell's famed Hi Records, her mom was a solo recording artist herself, and had cuts on Hi including "Love What You're Doing to Me." Regrettably, Jozzy's older brother, an aspiring rapper, was sent to prison when she was 5, leaving a sudden void in her life. That void became a source of inspiration though, as she found many of his cassettes, including early favorites "Drain You" by Nirvana and "Man Cry" by Scarface. The siblings continued to communicate regularly during his incarceration, with Jozzy's brother, John, encouraging his sister to explore her love of different styles of music in her own original manner.
Summer of last year, Jozzy left her home town of Memphis and moved to Miami Florida to partner with TIMBALAND's PROTEGE, WIZZ DUMB and his DUMB DRUMBS productions. The experience allowed her to write for different styles and perspectives as she worked on songs for multi-platinum selling Indonesian artist Agnez Monica, as well as more established American singers like Cher and Michael Bolton. Jozzy and WIZZ'S new projects dropping next year include KANYE WEST's G.O.O.D music artist TEYANA TAYLORr, dancing with the stars MARK BALLAS, and is collabing with TIMBALAND on JENNIFER LOPEZ new project. In a year's top MISSY ELLIOTT reached out to the songwriter and admired something that Jozzy said she didn't expect for her to like. HER TONE!.

Day26’s story is already well-known to their fans, millions of whom tuned in watch it unfold on MTV’s Making the Band 4 (Which became the highest rated show in MTV history). When Sean “P. Diddy” Combs put out the call for vocalists in January of 2007, he was looking for talented newcomers with superstar potential and a tireless work ethic. What he got when Robert, Will, Brian, Mike and Qwanell (who later resigned from the group in December of 2009), was more than he or the fans could have ever anticipated.

While many artists spend a lifetime chasing “international status,” classically trained singer-songwriter-musician Sebastian Mikael is already starting his career where others can only hope to finish. Born in Sweden to a Swedish father and Ethiopian mother, Sebastian Mikael—formerly known as De-Lor (which is French for “of gold”)—was raised in a diverse household that was enriched by music. While no one in his family ever made music professionally, Sebastian Mikael inherited his passion for music from his father and the sounds he grew up listening to inspired him to find out what was going on behind the music.
What started off as a childhood hobby soon snowballed into an adolescent obsession that led to him picking up the guitar and mimicking the sounds he heard on the radio. “I became interested in knowing exactly what the musicians were doing and how they got their sounds,” says Sebastian Mikael, who started off playing his favorite songs by Marvin Gaye, Guns N’ Roses, Wyclef Jean, Akon and Usher.
Before long, Sebastian Mikael’s newfound passion led him to clocking long hours at Swedish recording studios, singing hooks for rappers and teaming up with a local producer to form a production team. But while the duo’s initial recordings generated a lot of online buzz, Sebastian Mikael was eager to strike out on his own. “I saw the initial potential of the work we were doing,” he says, “but I wasn’t getting a shot at doing my own songs. Plus, they are not as open-minded about music in Sweden as they are in the U.S.”

Who hasn’t indulged the childhood fantasy of playing in a band with your best friend and promising to stay together forever (and ever)? Only in the case of Kira Leyden and Jeff Andrea—co-leads of the Akron Ohio based The Strange Familiar. The pair met and played in their first band together as pre-teens at Immaculate Heart of Mary School in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Lead vocalist & keyboardist Leyden and guitarist Andrea parlayed their musical partnership into a bond of matrimony. The couple recently had their first child, daughter Rayne. Alongside talented band-mates and fellow Ohio-bred musicians Nicholas Sainato on drums and Frank Freeman on bass, The Strange Familiar has certainly earned its namesake. In 2008, they made their recorded debut with the indie EP release You Can't Go Back and followed up it up with two indie album releases This Is Gravity (2009) and Chasing Shadows in 2012.

Dondria Nicole Fields never had to send a demo tape to an A&R. She never stood in line to audition for “American Idol,” nor has she ever joined a girl group to get her foot in the door. Nope. Dondria, So So Def’s newest R&B singer with a stunning voice, got her big break in the music biz with the help of a $15 webcam and YouTube, the popular video-sharing website. But if you ask her, all of this – her online discovery, record deal and newfound music career – happened simply by accident.
On a whim, Dondria bought a webcam and decided to upload a singing video of her own. Her choice: an a cappella version of Musiq Soulchild’s “Love.” Within two weeks, the video earned over 1,000 views and garnered tons of encouragement from visitors. Inspired, Dondria began searching for instrumentals that she could videotape herself singing along to. At the request of her rapidly growing online fan base, she posted various clips of herself covering songs from “Diary” by Alicia Keys to Rihanna’s “Unfaithful.”
However, it was her stirring rendition of Ciara’s “Promise” – which received over a million views – that took the budding singer from homebound diva to a complete Internet sensation. One of those people happened to be So So Def CEO Jermaine Dupri, who tried for several weeks to connect with Dondria on both YouTube and MySpace. Thinking Dupri’s messages were from an impostor, Dondria initially ignored them. “I would get emails all the time from people claiming to be this or that. Most of the time, when I’d blow them off, they’d never hit back. But Jermaine persisted, so I called him up one day and the rest is history.”

He’s an icon in the making, with five albums and eight Grammy nominations under his belt. He’s also a singer who carries the torch of masters like Marvin Gaye and Al Green, while redefining R&B for a new decade. He remains true to who he is, as a man and an artist.
He’s famous for sexy yet relatable love songs that are at once thoroughly modern and yet steeped in the sounds of classic soul. Though fans know and love Tank for smash hits like “Maybe I Deserve” and “Please Don’t Go,” they may be surprised to learn that he is also behind such chart-toppers as Rubben Studdard’s “Change Me” and Omarion’s “O.” What’s more, Tank served as an associate member of the hit-making production team, The Underdogs, with further credits including the smash soundtrack to the 2006 musical film adaptation of Dreamgirls (in which he also made a cameo).
Released by 19 Recordings/Interscope Records, Music Speaks serves up a sophisticated yet supremely soulful blend of love songs and self-empowerment anthems. Endlessly moving and deeply intimate, Music Speaks finds Glover channeling the emotional dynamism of legendary vocalists who’ve long inspired her. “My biggest influences have always been singers like Aretha Franklin, Patti LaBelle, Marvin Gaye, and Whitney Houston—the kind of people who are so heartfelt in their performance, you can just immediately feel what they’re singing,” notes Glover.

Fearless. That one word eloquently captures the creative spirit of groundbreaking duo Mary Mary. Ever since siblings Erica Campbell and Tina Campbell broke through in 2000 with the pioneering crossover hit “Shackles (Praise You),” the chart-topping sister act has never wavered from defying convention to fulfill its mission: sending uplifting messages through music and words that are relatable to everyone.
“It’s about making music that touches both adults and young people,” says Erica. Adds Tina, “It’s about spreading good news for the world but doing it in the Mary Mary way: banging beats and melodies, intertwined voices and messages of hope.”
An amazing ten years later, having earned 3 Grammy Awards, 2 American Music Awards, an NAACP Image Award and a BET Award, the “Mary Mary way” sounds just as fresh and innovative on the duo’s sixth album, the aptly titled SOMETHING BIG (My Block/Columbia/Sony Music; March 29, 2011). This vibrant outing, once again produced by longtime collaborator Warryn Campbell, picks up where the group’s most recent mainstream success story, 2008’s The Sound and its Grammy Award-winning smash hit “God in Me,” left off.

Renee Graziano is the daughter of Anthony Graziano, who according to the Federal Government was a high ranking member of La Cosa Nostra. Renee grew up during the heyday of the mob -- when things still fell off trucks and people still dropped off envelopes even when it wasn't your birthday. Immersed in the culture since birth, she embraced the lifestyle as her own and became a "mob loyalist". Renee eventually married (then divorced) Junior. Together they have one son, AJ.
When Renee was young her best friend was arrested and sentenced to many years behind bars. This was her first real introduction to prison, but unfortunately not her last. Thanks to a circle of friends living the street life, Renee has visited over 83 prisons and written hundreds of letters to comfort the many friends she had on "the inside." This correspondence gave her the idea to turn her love of the "the life" into a greeting card company called JAIL MAIL.
Renee sometimes longs for the good old days, but thanks to her friends she is slowly starting to realize that this is not a life she wants her son to lead. She struggles to balance her allegiance to the street life with her hopes that her son will live a life free of it all.
Renee is hysterical, Renee is crazy, and Renee is drama, but she will be the first to give you the shirt off her back. Everyone and anyone who knows her, knows this.

It's impossible to feel lonely when you've got good music pumping through your speakers.
Daley's six-song debut EP for Republic Records, Alone Together, is good music. Sometimes, it's sexy. Other times, it's stirring. However, it's always soulful.
Over a short period of time, the 23-year-old R&B impresario has made a name for himself in his native United Kingdom and beyond. His voice fuelled "Doncamatic", the chart-topping single from Gorillaz and "Long Way Home", a standout from Wretch 32. His celebrated independent mixtape, Those Who Wait, has been downloaded over 50,000 times and landed him live gigs stateside for the first time, drawing the attention of the American audience. Now, Alone Together serves as a proper introduction to his distinct style and savvy.
"If you’re expecting a straight-up soul singer, that's not necessarily who I am” he declares. “I'm exploring different sounds with the music. However, I am tying it all together with the songs and how I sing them. It’s important for me to write about aspects of life that people can relate to. Any time a drastic change occurs in my life, it ends up as a song."
Those moments live on tangibly within the music. The first single, "Alone Together", sees the singer team up with modern soul favorite Marsha Ambrosious. It's a careful distillation of divine delivery and seductive grooves. Elsewhere on the EP, 21st century diva Jessie J joins Daley for "Remember Me", a bluesy and brilliant anthem in its own right.

Her boundary-stretching fifth album, entitled, appropriately enough, Chapter V: Underrated, released September 27, 2011 on Shanachie Entertainment. Easily her best all-around album since her second best-selling album, Underrated shows the full range of Syleena’s talent as it moves from the powerful soul-balladry of songs like “Little Things” to full-on club bangers like the first single, “A Boss.” The result is a rarity in the R&B world these days - a true album that flows through a diverse and satisfying complete listening experience. Every song but one was written or co-written by Syleena.

Throughout the course of music history, there are certain artists that time simply refuses to forget. Their artistry has left such an indelible mark on the industry, far beyond what the gold and platinum standard can ever hope to measure. No matter how long their absence may be, it only seems to make the hearts of the listeners grow even fonder – eagerly awaiting their return. It’s safe to say that recording artist/ songwriter Glenn Lewis fits the description. His voice. His style. The unique way he effortlessly blends the sonic echoes of a bygone era with a soulful contemporary aesthetic, traversing an ocean of clichés in the process. With his forthcoming sophomore album Moment Of Truth on the venerable Ruffhouse Records, widely recognized for breaking the careers of successful multi-platinum period-defining artists such as The Fugees, Cypress Hill, Kriss Kross, and Ms. Lauryn Hill.
Raised in a West Indian household where R&B, soul, calypso, soca, and reggae shared equal space on the record shelf, music was an ever-present force during Glenn’s formative years. With his father being a member of popular Columbia Records vocal group Crack Of Dawn and his mother a singer-songwriter, the Toronto native was essentially destined to express himself through the gift of song.

Anyone whose had the pleasure of knowing singer, business woman, songwriter pianist, reality television star and Memphis native, K. Michelle since her childhood is aware that she was destined to be the woman she is today. Gymnastic, swimming and piano courses kept her inquisitive spirit busy until age nine, when the time arrived for her to begin vocal lessons with renowned children’s vocal coach Bob Westbrook (Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears etc). A lifelong affinity for country music (The Judds are a personal favorite), lead to Michelle earning a scholarship to Florida A&M for yodeling. With Michelle’s second and final season of L&HHA’s beginning this spring, it couldn’t be a more fitting time for the release of her debut album, Rebellious Soul. For the millions of fans who have watched the no-nonsense cutie fight for what she feels is right on television every week, her album title is most apropos. “I’m a rebel, a firecracker,” she tells. “I do what I want to do. My music is like that as well. I rebel against anything that society tries to use to keep us boxed in––racism, judgment, anything that makes you feel inferior as a woman.” The result is what she describes as an “old-school” but “aggressive and urgent” music feel. Expect the guest list of vocalists to include Elle Varner and Michelle’s mentor R. Kelly, who will also embrace some maestro duties.

At first listen, Side Effects of You might sound like an album about heartbreak and the process of piecing oneself back together. That’s true, in part, but if you have her tell it, there’s much more there. While the Grammy-winning singer has certainly enjoyed chart-topping, triple-platinum and multi-platform success since winning season three of American Idol, she, like everybody, has made some mistakes, too. Though she has never shied away from being transparent in her music, she wasn’t necessarily thinking about putting her words into song when she picked up a pen and her blank notebook two years ago. Crafting this, her fourth album, was like a dream come true for Fantasia as she made it her mission to tap into the music that has inspired her over the years. “When I was growing up, we listened to so many different types of music in my house,” she remembers. “It started with gospel and then the blues because my grandfather loved B.B. King. Of course I loved listening to my girls Monica, Brandy, TLC and SWV, but I also played Billie Holiday, Josephine Baker, Elton John, Ella Fitzgerald, Luther Vandross, Anita Baker, Bonnie Raitt and Queen. You can listen to any of those artists today because their music still stands and that’s what I wanted to do with this project. I want my music to be timeless.”

Native to Greensboro, NC, Isaac started his music career in 1990 when he received the opportunity to sing with John P. Kee and New Life on the hit song “Wave it Away”. Though Isaac had a voice that could stand strong alone, he preferred to work as a team. In 1996, Isaac co-founded a contemporary gospel male group called Men of Standard.
With five albums and hits such as “In Your Will”, “Trust in God”, and “Latter Rain” to name a few, Men of Standard’s success was undeniable. They went on to tour on Power 98, Shout 2000, and the Hero Tour featuring Kirk Franklin and Mary Mary. The group was honored with two Stellar awards and several Dove nominations. With such success it is hard to imagine why the group broke apart.
“I see now why God asked me to enter this journey. I have learned things that I could not have learned being in a group. Through this obedience I have found my passion and rediscovered my musicality. ”On the album you will be able to find parts of the old Isaac Carree, but also things that you have never heard before. We’re now in a culture where reality shows are the norm, and with that we expect an all-access pass to see celebrities—and even those who are not superstars—at their most vulnerable. Dice had never been one to hide her personal sexual preferences to women, but it was something she also never felt comfortable openly discussing for the cameras until the Full Court Life producers pulled her to the side while the show’s cast was on a trip to Turks & Caicos. “They said, ‘people love you but they want to be able to relate to you so you have to open up more.” “I remember, it was such a big thing that they were wanting me to open up more about my personal life,” says the reality TV star. “It was me, my cousin, it was Po, and it was Kelly Rowland, and we filmed such a powerful scene of me really coming out and saying ‘this is who I am, but I just don’t want to disappoint my family,’ it was a really emotional moment. We were all crying.” The positive feedback received from that episode was overwhelming and extremely encouraging for Dice because it gave her the confidence and support that she’d truly been hoping. “After that, I was like, it’s really out there now, and I was fine. I was getting a lot of emails and even people on Twitter saying, ‘Dice, I didn’t know how to come out to my family or you’re just an inspiration or I love you so much’ all the positivity was like the monkey off my back. That’s what truly mattered to me.”

R&B recording artist Donell Jones has brought us major hits such as U Know What's Up (1999) and Where I Wanna Be (1999). Donell hit the music scene in 1996 with his debut release, My Heart (LaFace), after a chance meeting with music producer Eddie F. Often referred to as an artist who offers "true" R&B, Donell's style is smooth and his music is timeless. Also an accomplished songwriter/producer, he has worked with artists such as Usher and 702.
The masterful crooner is back on point with his seventh album, Face the Music (Feb. 5, 2013). Inspired by the R&B legends—Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Frankie Beverly & Maze, Luther Vandross and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds—who have been guiding lights in Avant’s career, the project marks the singer’s first release on the Capitol/EMI-distributed independent label Mo-B. But the set does more than just pay homage to R&B masters. Thanks to Avant’s inventiveness, Face the Music cooks up a tantalizing blend of contemporary and traditional sounds.
Jumpstarting the buzz about the forthcoming album is lead single “You & I,” Avant’s long-anticipated reunion with duet partner Keke Wyatt. Already a top 10 hit on Billboard’s Adult R&B chart and currently climbing the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs tally, the searing love ballad revisits the natural magic Avant and Wyatt conjured on their first hit together, “My First Love.”
Like many R&B singers, Avant got his start singing in the church choir. After attending Cleveland School of the Arts, he became the first act signed to NBA legend Magic Johnson’s MCA-distributed label, Magic Johnson Music (MJM). Avant’s 2000 MJM debut album, My Thoughts, spun off the Billboard No. 1 R&B hit “Separated.” That was followed by the top five hit “My First Love,” a cover of the 1983 Ren&eac

Once upon a time there were great funk/R&B bands like Earth Wind & Fire, The Meters, War, Kool & The Gang, Slave, and numerous others who constantly broke down musical barriers. The musicality of these units was superior – they could rock or funk out as easily as they could move the crowd with a tenor soulful ballad. The rise of electronic music gradually undermined self-contained bands but in the 90s a dynamic young new band emerged—Mint Condition, now the greatest self-contained R&B band of our time. Anointed early on by superstar producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis (formerly of the band The Time), Mint Condition does it all—delivering hard-bitten funk with a hip hop edge, rocking out with screaming lead guitar, and crooning lush, "baby-making" soul ballads. The much sought after band, who mark their 20th Anniversary this year, has amassed a string of hits and performs hundreds of live shows each year. In the Fall of 2010 when Prince took the podium at the legendary Apollo to announce his "Welcome To America," and his plans to feature his favorite artists, it was no shock to many that Mint Condition was among them. The only band on his list that day? Mint Condition. During the month of February, TV One tapped Mint Condition as the house band seen and heard every night on the show "Way Black When," which celebrated the biggest African American stars throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s. With not one but two current hit singles on board—the sumptuous "Caught My Eye" and lead singer Stokley's duet with Kelly Price, "Not My Daddy," Mint Condition marks the 20th anniversary of its first chart hit with the release of 7… (Mint Condition’s seventh studio album) due out on Shanachie Entertainment/Caged Bird April 5, 2011.&
Once a protégé of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs (who signed Thomas after hearing him sing at an open mic night in New York in the mid – 90s), he was the first heartthrob R&B songster on Bad Boy Entertainment. Thomas is best known for his #1 R&B smash “I Wish” from the album So Emotional, which debuted in the Top 20 on Billboard and was a critical and commercial success, selling nearly 2 million copies. When Thomas crooned “I wish I had never met her,” with equal parts pleading and regret, women found his white wine cool vocals and Marvin Gaye meets Nat King Cole sex appeal irresistible, while guys immediately identified with his worldly yet around the way lyricism and spot on relationship observations. With a solid debut —also yielding the windswept hit single “Summer Rain”—Carl Thomas instantly transformed from a Chicago native son singing for his supper into both an in demand lothario and voice of masculine romance for an entire generation. However, it was his indefatigable passion and not industry position or fanfare that beckoned him back to the studio for his new album, Conquer. It has been a long road back home. In 2004, on the eve of the release of his highly anticipated sophomore project, Let’s Talk About It, Thomas’ brother was murdered in Aurora, Illinois, the Chicago suburb where they grew up. Instead of basking in the glory and glamour of another hit album, a devastated Thomas left his career behind fled abroad and rendered himself incognito in the states—much to the chagrin of Combs. “Puff fought me on that one. But, we were at different points of communication at the time,” he says. Thomas also makes it clear that his eventual departure from the iconic the hip-hop/R&B label had nothing to do with the swirl of rumors that surfaced regarding the situation.

Artist profile TLC’s Chilli is the embodiment of the term triple threat. The singer/actress/dancer is one third of the iconic R&B/pop group TLC. Billboard magazine ranked TLC as one of the greatest musical trios. Between 1992 and 2003, the band accumulated ten top ten singles, four number one singles, four multi-platinum albums, and five Grammy Awards. TLC has sold more than 65 million records worldwide, and are listed as the best-selling US female group of all time. The group’s girl power message was a reflection of the girls’ values and not the creation of the record label. With their 1999, #1 hit record ‘Unpretty’, TLC tackled self-esteem issues and blasted the industry’s often distorted standard of beauty. The group received an outpouring of appreciation letters and videos from fans after the song was released. To date Chilli lists the song as one of her favorites because of the tremendous impact the record had on their female fans. The Grammy-award winning single “Waterfalls” aggressively tackled the stereotypes associated with AIDS/HIV, and solidified the group as leaders of the AIDS education/awareness movement. TLC’s biggest-selling girl anthem ‘No Scrubs’ went on to break numerous radio play records and created a pop culture reference. As a result, TLC has been credited with paving the way for many girl groups and female solo acts to be able to spread controversial messages they believed in.
The time is now for one of the industry’s best-kept secrets: PJ Morton. The Maroon 5 keyboardist/backing vocalist makes his major label debut on May 14 with New Orleans, his first album for Young Money Entertainment/Republic Records. One listen to Morton’s anticipated project quickly reveals why the multi-talent became a favorite on the indie R&B circuit and an in-demand songwriter/producer and also why the limitless talent will be a game changer for the Lil Wayne-founded Young Money. New Orleans marks the Cash Money imprint’s first step toward broadening its already wide appeal, thanks to a hit-making and award-winning roster that includes founder Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj. And there’s no better ambassador to musically personify that message than Morton, whose self-described “soulful pop” seamlessly spans multiple genres from gospel and R&B/funk to pop and rock. “I’ve always pushed boundaries,” says Morton, “but I always remain true to who I am musically. New Orleans is a natural progression of who I am. I can’t explain it except through my music. That proves it better than anything I can say.” Building that case is “Only One” featuring Stevie Wonder. Quickly garnering strong reaction following its January premiere on Billboard.com, the song is the lead single from New Orleans. Armed with an infectious hook and a head-boppin’ groove, the up-tempo number showcases Morton’s velvety tenor, songwriting skills and musicianship, accented by Wonder’s distinctive harmonica.

Before her untimely death at the age of 54 on the day after Christmas 2010, Teena Marie, known as “Lady Tee,” the Ivory Queen of Soul, wrote, produced, arranged and sang on 13 albums that have sold 2.5 million copies in the soundscan era. Starting with her 1979, Rick James-produced debut, Wild and Peaceful, Teena Marie’s many soul and R&B hits include “Square Biz,” “Behind the Groove,” “I Need Your Lovin’,” “Fire and Desire,” “Lovergirl” and “Ooo La La La,” a song famously sampled by the Fugees. Teena Marie was working on her 14th and latest album for Universal Music Enterprises, Beautiful, at the time of her passing, the follow-up to 2009’s Congo Square, which peaked at #4 on the R&B chart and went to #20 on the album chart, producing the Top 12 Urban AC hit, “Can’t Last A Day.” Recorded at her Pasadena home studio and finished except for final mixes, Beautiful was seen through to its conclusion by Teena’s 20-year-old daughter, Alia Rose, who sings with her Mom on two tracks, a cover of Curtis Mayfield’s “Give Me Your Love” and “Rare Breed,” which she co-wrote (Alia co-wrote two more songs on the album, “Sweet Tooth” and the title song). The first single, “Luv Letter,” which has just gone to radio, is just that, an homage to Tee’s Motown roots, with nods to Stevie Wonder’s “Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours,” and a dedication to Alia’s father, who just happened to be a postman, like in the Marvelettes’ song of the same name. The album comes out Jan. 15, 2013.

LONNY BEREAL SINGER, SONGWRITER, PRODUCER, LIVE PERFORMER, A COMPLETE ARTIST, The talent of Lonny Bereal is a throwback to an era of the complete entertainer. A time when artists not only had skills in the studio but most importantly could perform live and write their own songs. Lonny Bereal is destined to bring back that level of true artistry. Having started professionally as a background singer for the likes of Jamie Foxx, Tank, Kelly Rowland, Ruben Studdard, K-Ci & JoJo, Teddy Riley, Brandy, Monica, and a list of others, Bereal’s exceptional vocal ability has kept him in demand. His range goes from tenor to soprano without a strain drawing comparisons to contemporaries like Brian McKnight and Maxwell. Over nearly a decade working in the music business, Bereal has skillfully and methodically developed himself into an award-winning songwriter and producer. A few of his most recent credits included: Chris Brown, Jamie Foxx, Keri Hilson and Keyshia Cole. Among the most notable hits he’s written include Tank’s“Please Don’t Go” Pleasure P’s “Under” and Chris Brown’s “I Can Transform Ya.” These gold and platinum successes have yielded other writing opportunities for Bereal on several top film soundtracks including “The Seat Filler”, “Wifey,” and the critically acclaimed Lebron James documentary “More Than a Game.” Bereal earned an Emmy Nomination for music he created for the “Life Support” telefilm while he has also contributed songs to Tyler Perry’s “Meet the Browns” and the top rated BET show “The Game.”
Pat Gallo isn’t made for radio.
That may be a tough concept to grasp in a hip-hop arena that panders to AutoTune hooks and gimmicky dance tunes. Then again, the Westchester, N.Y., product has never been one to roll with the in crowd. “I’m not really worried about fitting in. I wouldn’t even try to,” says Pat. “If I’m riding and I want to listen to something, it’s probably not gonna be the radio [laughs]. They’re looking for a certain type of record. They want something happy. Life ain’t always a big party.”

Antoine’s music has a depth so often disregard by today’s artists in their quest to get to the top. In Dunn’s music, you will find musical mastery that will leave a lasting impression on the industry. In each song he writes, he shares his story of truth and passion. The expressions of his heart can be heard in every note and every lyric of his songs. His understanding of every element of the music he creates provides the cohesion to turn those notes into a symphony. Presented live, the magic of his music is amplified as he delivers his songs with a sincerity and spirit that draws every listener into a sense of familiarity. He does not try to present an image; he portrays his true self and his true expression through the authenticity of his performance.
Antoine Dunn’s early musical explorations were fostered by his aunt, Veronica Dunn. Her career as a professional gospel singer provided her the insight to see and support the musical genius he exhibited at a very young age. Through his youth his voice garnered him great attention as he won various awards and had the opportunity to perform throughout the United States and the Bahamas. By the age of 17, Dunn was bestowed the opportunity to be the Cuyahoga Community Church's Minister of Music, where he directed for three years.

The Marilyn Manson/Seraphim Ward engagement rumor, was created in April by controversial ex-Kim Kardashian publicist Jonathan Jaxson. Jonathan was hired by Seraphim to promote her music career but instead he created a fake story that Seraphim and Marilyn were engaged and distributed it to the media without her knowledge.
At the time Seraphim was dating Pogo Stephen Bier better known as "Madonna Wayne Gacy" from the band "Marilyn Manson". Stephen Bier and Marilyn Manson have not been in contact for five years due to Stephen Bier suing Marilyn Manson for 20 Million dollars for keeping money from him while they were in the band together. Manson lost a lot in the lawsuit including his house, so when he found out Seraphim was actually Pogo's girlfriend, he flipped about what Jonathan had done.
Seemore Cash was born in Kansas City. He was raised by his single mother on the Northside of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Cash had a large family and a crowded home. He needed an outlet to get him out of the house. An avid basketball player at heart, it was only natural that he would use the sport as such. Seemore focused on training in hopes of a career at a professional level. His free time spent with music. Unfortunately, when his coach suddenly died, Seemore no longer felt the same connection to the game as he use to. His grades started to slip, he lacked focus and everything suffered. His disconnection to basketball made him resent the sport all together. He would soon drop out of college. In need of another outlet, he moved to Los Angeles, formed a group and began performing in California. The crew created a buzz on the Hollywood scene and an independent label took an interest in the group. They would soon drop out during negotiations due to conflicts between group members. Cash felt that efforts were not matched by others in the gang. He took the label dropping the deal as a sign to move past the plans intended for the movement. He went on as a solo artist shortly after. Seemore Cash continues to keep the watchful eye of his loyal fans and to make music that sets a new precedence for the HipHop Industry.Keep your eye on the sky; he's about to Touchdown.

At age 5, Brian sat at an out-of-tune piano and did his best John Lennon. From there, he never looked back. Brian spent a lot of time growing up in Havana, Florida. Surrounded by beautiful land and paddle-weilding principles that were eager to dole out the corporal punishment, he reflects now with song and lyric. The great Frank McCourt would say, "a normal childhood is hardly worth your while".
As an accomplished lyricist and singer/songwriter, his song Painted Red aired on the Disney/Family Channel series, Naturally Sadie. Most recently his song, "Sunshower", was included on the Songs of Love for Japan CD, the official music contribution to the Japan disaster relief sponsored by Shelterbox. His song was among great artists such as Sara Barielles, Ani Difranco and others.

THE YEAR WAS ’96…..MUSIC WAS FRESH AND NEW. AN ENTIRE GENRE OF MUSIC WAS REDEFINED WITH INNOVATIVE STYLES OF PRODUCTION AND VOCAL ARRANGEMENT. WELL…IT’S TIME TO REINTRODUCE THAT ERA OF SOUND
THE NEW ARTIST, INTYCE, IS MORE THAN CAPABLE OF CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF THE ’96 ERA TWISTED WITH NEW SCHOOL SOUND. WITH PRODUCTION SIMILAR TO THE CREATIVITY OF SUCH PRODUCERS OF THAT ERA AND THE LIKENESS OF VOCAL ARRANGEMENTS OF THE ARTISTS IN THAT TIME, INTYCE BRINGS BACK THE STYLE THAT IS MISSING FROM SOME OF TODAY’S R&B MUSIC.
NOT TO BE COMPARED WITH THE AVERAGE MALE R&B SINGER, INTYCE ENTWINES A PLAY ON WORDS THROUGH INVENTIVE AND ORIGINAL LYRICS WHILE PROVING AN ESSENCE OF VOCAL PROWESS THROUGH CREATIVE VOCAL ARRANGEMENTS.
INTYCE BRINGS MATURE AND PROVACATIVE LYRICS TO THE FOREFRONT THROUGH POLISHED VOCALS THAT MELT THROUGH THE BEAT.
THIS SINGER/SONGWRITER DOESN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO PROVE FOR HE MAKES HIS STATEMENT CLEAR THAT HE WILL MAKE HIS STAMP AS THE NEXT INNOVATOR OF R&B.

The best hip-hop, like any other fine art, is a byproduct of dedication to craft. There's simply no replacement for putting in the time and energy it takes to represent the culture properly. At only 19 years young, Driicky Graham knows this as well as anyone. In the early 90's, a three year-old Graham co-starred in the video for Lord's of The Underground's "Tic Toc," a baby with a mouth full of silver fronts, rapping along to DoItAll's verse. "Since I was a baby, Biggie, 2pac, it's always been in the car," Graham says. He's had the luxury of growing up in an era where hip hop was omnipresent, but Graham has utilized what so many took for granted to harness a talent he was destined to share with world.
Driicky Graham remembers first taking rapping seriously as a freshman in high school. Splitting his formative years between Oxford, North Carolina and Newark, New Jersey, he's well familiar with the highs and lows of both city life and the country. He mines these very opposite experiences for a deeper connection with the dedicated fan-base he's already grown in the short time since he began distributing music on social networks like Twitter and YouTube.
Born Jeffrey Johnson, Jr., Dash grew up in Atlanta’s Capitol Homes projects under the watchful eye of his mother and great-grandmother. The baby of the family (he has an older brother, two half-sisters and two step-brothers), Dash was an inquisitive and bright child who learned about Hip-Hop from his older brother Erik. Dash began writing raps at 12 years old. By high school, he’d taken on the name “ATL” as part of a four-man rap group called the Blackout Boys. In 2006, the group (which included Dash’s brother) released a mixtape, Recognition, which generated significant buzz around Mill Creek High School. The following year, the already popular Dash – a basketball-playing heartthrob – released a solo mixtape entitled My Turn, further boosting his high school profile. However, the aspiring emcee didn’t begin to take his music career seriously until he became a father at the age of 16.
Jamar Rogers entered the world on March 1, 1982 to a single mother in New Orleans. As his life began to spiral out of control, the unthinkable happened; Jamar was declared HIV positive. Completely broken, Jamar somehow found the light in the darkest time of his life and began to turn things around. After six years of being clean from crystal meth, Jamar auditioned for The Voice and “the rest is history,” as they say. Since becoming a finalist on The Voice, Jamar has appeared on popular shows such asThe Today Show, Ellen, CNN, E! Entertainment News, MTV News, HLN’s Showbiz Tonight, USA Today, People Magazine, US Weekly, Billboard, Rolling Stone.com,The Hollywood Reporter, The Huffington Post, POZ Magazine, Popcrush, Sway In The Morning, Positively AwareMagazine and many more! Born Neffeteria Pugh, in Oakland, California, Neffe was a product of the streets of the East side, she never had the opportunity to experience a family-oriented environment.?Living in Brookfield, one of Oakland's most turbulent neighborhoods, she and her grandmother shared a small three bedroom house while struggling to maintain sanity. The environment eventually took a toll on Neffe, causing her to run away at the age of 12.Neffe seized the "whatever it takes" attitude to get by while enduring a tumultuous childhood. She spent most of her youth running the streets with her substance-addicted mother, in and out of group homes and jail. After the birth of her daughter, Neffe sought focus in her life and returned home to her grandmother's house where she developed a laissez-faire attitude toward life.??"I stayed where I could, I did whatever I had to do to get by and having my first daughter made me realize that it is not just me now; it's someone else I have to look after and I need to get my stuff together," Neffe said.? In 2006 Neffe became a reality tv star. She got her start on BET’s show “Keyshia Cole The Way It Is” with her sister R&B singer Keyshia Cole. During the series she and her family allowed cameras a candid look at their ups and downs for three seasons. The show was so successful it resulted in a spinoff called “The Frankie and Neffe Show” which aired on BET for one season. After taking some time away from the cameras Neffe is back strong and launching a brand new venture, a book entitled “ The Price I paid“. It’s a cautionary tale about the pitfalls of reality stardom but also, a story of redemption. The book is being published by Tionna Smalls and her company Talk Da Ish Books. The book is expected to be released in the fall of 2012.
Neffe holds many titles but feels the most important ones are that of Wife and Mother. Neff
SIRSY, the soulful indie pop rock duo is a musical breath of fresh air in a world of homogenized & overly super-sized corporate rock. Born to Rich Libutti, a lover of The Beatles, Bowie, and Star Wars, who rocks the guitar, and Melanie Krahmer, who must be the love child of Eartha Kitt and Superman, SIRSY is a force much greater than most found on earth. Their clever, hook drenched songs are infectious and lyrically run the gamut from wildly joyful to utterly heartbreaking. The title track from their newest CD, Revolution, is not only one in a collection of great songs, but was also the opening track for the highly acclaimed ?green film', ?So Right So Smart? (Darryl Hanna, Bare Naked Ladies, Guster). The video for ?Revolution? was also in regular rotation on HBO Zone.
Now signed to Funzalo Records, they're working on a new disc with knob-twisting geniuses, Paul Kolderie and Sean Slade (Hole, Radiohead, Dresden Dolls, Pixies). SIRSY also recently finished a studio project with famed producer, David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Regina Spektor, Kelly Clarkson) who called Melanie?s ?a world class voice.? Melanie is also endorsed nationally by Vater Percussion and has been featured in Modern Drummer Magazine.
Tamia was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. As a child, she took acting and singing lessons, eventually performing in a number of local choirs and theatrical presentations. She soon earned a reputation and several awards, including the YTV Vocal Achievement Award in 1993. The following year, she won the Steve Ross Music Scholarship at the American Academy of Achievement's Annual Salute to Excel lence in 1994.
That same year, she attended a fateful party thrown by her manager Brenda Richie for Luther Vandross. There she met producer Quincy Jones, who became taken with Tamia's talent during a one-song performance. Soon Jones had Tamia in the studio, recording "You Put a Move on My Heart" for Jones' new album, Q's Jook Joint. The song became a Top Ten R&B hit and earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Another song on the album, a duet with Babyface entitled "Slow Jams," was nominated for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group. She also sang "Missing You" with Brandy, Gladys Knight, and Chaka Khan on the soundtrack for the 1995 film “Set It Off.” With a Grammy nod for "Missing You,” this made for three nominations for Tamia, who hadn’t even released an album yet.
In 1989, after graduating from Northwest High School in Indianapolis, Imani worked several factory jobs before she dedicated her life to care for her mother, grandparents, and aunt. She stood by their side for fourteen years; including being a single parent to three (two boys and a girl). After Imani's sister resumed the role as primary caregiver for their mother, Imani enrolled at a local community college to major in Paralegal Studies. It was then, the four-time Dean's List student discovered her passion of writing. She wrote essays, short stories, and poetries, and a few were published in the college paper and a local magazine. While being a Caregiver, Imani suffered the darkness of depression. She described her emotions in a 2010 poem, Trapped With My Eyes Wide Open.
Alternative Rock/Pop Artist, David Duane has been singing since the young age of 11. His first mark of success came in 2002, when he formed a male duo group with his best friend, Malcolm B called, “DM3”. Recently, David Duane re-released his debut EP, "Fierce Wings: 1st Time Coming” in early September, 2012. The EP includes 11 tracks and features singles, "Love Won't Wait On Us (R&B Mix)", “U Lose Me” and “My Hearts On Overload” and is described as a "Pop-R&B-Soul-Alternative-Rock-Electro-Twist" album.
In 2005, fans and critics alike were enthralled by music sensation Brooke Valentine. It was her dynamic single, “Girlfight,” featuring Lil Jon and Big Boi, taken from her debut full-length project, Chain Letter (Virgin Records), that helped propel album sales to 300,000 copies worldwide. Now, she is back —with a new focus, a higher sense of purpose, and most of all, exciting new music! Brooke Valentine is ecstatic about the release of her long-awaited album Forever (Subliminal Ent/Universal) and its upbeat title track single, called "Forever"—her first collection of all-new material in four years. The album is a celebration of life, family, and Valentine’s new-found freedom. She does not completely shed her sexy and fun-girl image, but the tragic loss of a family member, a complicated pregnancy, raising a special needs son, and a long battle to be released from Virgin Records certainly have affected her perspective.
“A lot of fans have been asking where I have been,” she says, referring to her extended hiatus from the music business. “You know, I’ve been singing since I was 12 years-old; so by the time songs like ‘Girlfight’ and the Chain Letter album hit, I’d been doing this for quite a while. In this world, you just can’t have all career and no balance. I gave birth to my son London, who I love and adore. He requires a bit more attention than what the average parent has to give to a child. I’d been fighting to be released from the deal with Virgin Records. I was no longer in love with the industry and with the politics that go with it. I needed a break. I needed to live life. But I want my fans to know, though, that I never fell out of love with mus
Having fought the maj or label system to allow her true identity to shine forth, Syleena now steps forward with her most personal statement to date.
“I’m calling this album Underrated because it was a name chosen by my fans,” Syleena explains. “Also, if you look in Webster’s, the definition of ‘underrated’ is ‘underestimated.’ I feel some of my counterparts in the industry have underestimated me, thinking I wouldn’t make another album past Chapter 2.”
Indeed, the album opens with the defiant title track that segues immediatel
Brian Angel has always done everything big. This Houston native has done it all by the age 15, from traveling the world to performing in front of thousand (sharing the stage with such as Destiny's Child, Ginuwine, Avant, Jagged Edge, Joe, Brian McKnight, and many more.) Brian currently is the lead singer for the super- group Day 26, which was created as the MTV reality TV series "Making The Band". Day 26 had the highest rated television show in MTV history for five straight seasons, two #1 albums’, BET Awards and numerous other awards. Emmanuel and Phillip Hudson were born in Mississippi in 1990 and 1992 the youngest of 8 boys to an awesome pair of God fearing parents, Roger and Brenda Hudson. The family moved to Jonesboro, Ga in 1998 where the brothers quickly made a name for themselves as the funniest guys in their schools, dancing, joking, and rapping to bring each of their classrooms to uncontrollable amounts of laughter every day. What they didn’t know was that during these years God was carefully helping them sharpen their skills as talented entertainers for something greater. When they decided to make a video called ‘Rachet Girl Anthem’ on January 16th of 2012 they were unprepared for how much God was about to bless them when the video went viral from a few thousand views to more than 20 million views overnight.
Anthony Hamilton’s voice just keeps getting better with time.
The Grammy Award winner’s arresting voice—a favorite staple on the scene since 2003—recently provided the perfect accompaniment to Jill Scott’s earthy vocals on the captivating duet “So in Love.” Their dynamic pairing also set a record: 18 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Urban Adult Contemporary chart, tying with Maxwell for the most co nsecutive weeks atop the tally. The single, in turn, helped propel Scott’s album, The Light of the Sun, to a No. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.
Now on the heels of that smash hit, Hamilton is igniting even more buzz. It’s for his new single “Woo,” recently the No. 1 most added single at urban adult radio. The vibrant, Babyface-produced track is the first single from his fourth studio album, Back to Love. The December 13 release is the follow-up to his 2008 gold-certified, No. 1-debuting album, The Point of It All (So So Def/Zomba Label Group). The impending release marks his first album for the newly restructured RCA Records—and signals the eagerly anticipated next chapter in the multi-talented singer/songwriter’s evolving career.
“Having children,” says the father of five, including year-old twins, “gives you another burst of energy, a new perspective. Back to Love stems from that energy.”

Hannah has always been an imaginative young girl since her early years in middle school. Like many young introverted girls, she experienced bullying from her peers. She found comfort in being able to escape through her writing and found it as a way of release. Fiction has always been her specialty and she invites readers into her world of fantasy, realness, and rawness. Hannah has a way of influencing her readers and emotions and making them expect the unexpected. She enjoys pushing the grain and stroking her pen until it's empty. By then, the story is complete and is saturated with everything in a nutshell. Ms. Spivey was raised by her mother and father in South Florida and she has one sister. She obtained her Associate’s degree in Business Administration. She is a continuing ghost writer and freelance writer. Sitting across the table from singer-songwriter Brian Owens, one might get the feeling of conversing with — as some say — an old soul. There is a calmness and self-assuredness that suggests he’s been here before, even though he is only on the verge of becoming the new voice of American soul. He doesn’t project the harried, fast-paced life of a national recording artist, but rather the soulful energy that dominates his music. Raised in St. Louis, his music reflects a city infused with blues, soul and funk, resulting in a style that is distinctly his own, yet reminiscent of artists like Marvin Gaye, Al Green, and Otis Redding, who laid the foundation for Grammy Award winning, R&B soul artists like D’Angelo, Maxwell and Raphael Saadiq. Now, joining that class is Brian Owens. “I want to be my own voice, but in a way that’s familiar to people,” Owens says. “So I welcome the comparisons because it means that people take comfort in my influences.
As one of the lead singers of Sidewinder, the Air Force band that became a YouTube web sensation with more than 2.5 million views and swept up a flurry of media attention for their version of soul-pop singer, Adele’s “Rolling In The Deep,” Brian has been featured on national television shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Entertainment Tonight.
Kalenna started writing songs at 11, when she would accompany her father—a rapper and army man—into the studio. As a military daughter, she moved often, living in diverse locations including Alaska, Germany and Hawaii. In music, she found a home for herself even as “home” was constantly changing. “Growing up, I understood how music can take you away and help you escape,” she says. “At the same time I began learning how music brings people together; how it can heal and comfort.” She eventually channeled her talent for songwriting into a successful career penning hits for Jill Scott, Jennifer Lopez, Timbaland and multi-platinum producer Rodney Jerkins. As a songwriter, she is highly sought by A-list artists to write their hits. Her talent has been featured in varied genres of music. She has written songs for Christina Milan, Opera signer, Charlotte Church (Mood Swing), Bobby Valentino , Rasheeda, Aretha Franklin and Fantasia, Slim Thug, cat Dolls, Timati, Christina Aguilera and countless others. Additional credits include, Maino , Three 6 Mafia, Ciara, Trina, and of course Diddy-Dirty Money. In between touring and songwriting, Kalenna lends time to her nonprofit organization, the I Heart Kalenna Foundation. Her mission is to provide social services to families with lupus or homeless veterans. She also provides mentoring and guidance to students by way of school visits and workshops.
MAGIC MAN Musiq Soulchild It’s hard to imagine a performer working today with more heart and soul than Musiq Soulchild. With over a decade on the scene, the multiplatinum singer/songwriter brings a new depth to his meditations on life and love with his sixth studio album, Musiqinthemagiq. Could he be the hardest working man in the business? At the very least, he’s got to be the most soulful. “Soul music is something that you can’t fake. You’re just expressing yourself. That’s the magic in my music.” —Musiq Soulchild A lot has changed since Musiq first hit the scene. He’s no longer that talented cat from Philadelphia who just wants to sing. Since then, he’s made the shift from his native Philly, where he honed his skills among the city’s prolific music scene, to Atlanta. He’s gone platinum not once, but twice, and performed with everyone from Mary J. Blige and Carlos Santana to Estelle and The Roots. As he readies the release of MusiqintheMagiq, he is eager to show fans yet another side, and perhaps let them in on the secret to his unforgettable blend of magic.
Before the group stepped on the scene in 1996 with their first single, “Only You”, the four high-school friends that originally called themselves “Forte” hit a few bumps in the road before fate landed them in front of Club 112 in Atlanta to audition in the parking lot for P. Diddy. He would go on to sign them and throughout the ‘90s and 00, they achieved four platinum albums, posted eight chart topping records and garnished two Grammy nominations that cemented them as a bonafied R&B group. As the face of the group, Marvin “Slim” Scandrick was influential in setting the tone for the group. Since the last 112 album in 2005, Slim has stayed busy dropping music via internet as a way to measure fan response. This test would play a valuable key in helping to determine his decision to do a solo album. Although the idea of lead - singers branching off on a solo career isn’t anything new, Slim never had any plans to do so, but as CEO, he wanted to insure that M3 Productions got off to a great start.
