Hi everyone welcome back to the amandla podcast. This week's episode is about spreading some positivity and helping you guys with your rights. It can be very easy to get caught in all the negative things going on in the world. Today, I want to spread some positivity. This podcast is going to tell you some of the great changes that have occurred in the US and the UK to improve the systemic racism black people face and police brutality. Then, as we saw in the first episode, stop and search adversely affects ethnic minorities in particular in the UK. So I have looked at the legislation and tried my best to summarise it for you so that you know your rights. Enjoy!
Hi everyone! Welcome to the first episode of the Amandla Podcast. This podcast will be about educating myself and hopefully you guys about the black experience, black culture and black history. I want to do what I can to help with the education process because to me knowledge is power and is a great tool we can use to make a difference. In this first episode, I want to try and explain the Black Lives Matter movement from its origin to why it is such a big issue today, and police brutality; the history behind it and why it is something that needs to be addressed. I hope you find it informative! (Trigger warning, some of the content is distressing to listen to so take breaks, take your time listening and look after yourself)
