This is an interview conducted with Vidyaratha Kissoon from SASOD on 12 January, 2012 on First Look, a programme aired on Channel 9. The Government of Guyana had committed to holding consultations on the recommendations related to sexual orientation and gender identity after the 2010 Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process
SASOD through the AUSAID project "Human Rights Education to protect sexual and gender minorities in Guyana' conducted a workshop with social work students from the University of Guyana . The workshop was held on 18, 19 October 2011.s. Four of the students - Carolyn Paul, Melissa Gentle, Tristiana Roberts and Padmawattie Kissoon discuss the workshop.
SASOD held its first open office lime and gaff on 29 July, 2011. Some of the people who attended that session reflect on the importance of such face to face informal networking and meeting, across many differences.
The Equal Rights Trust and SASOD are working on a project to build the capacity of civil society organisations to deal with human rights abuses and violations. One activity was the training workshop which was conducted between 9 and 11 August, 2011. This podcast was recorded at the end of the workshop. The people in the discussion talked about what they learnt and the importance of that knowledge. The facilitator is Stan Gouveia.

This podcast was recorded on the 9 August, 2011 and features a conversation between Anton Rocke from SASOD, Jason Chisolm a Volunteer Peer/Educator and Shameeza David from Youth Challenge. The discussion looked at the issue of children who are sexually abused and the resulting HIV infection. The discussion reinforced the need for education and for ensuring access to health services for children who are infected.
