Entrepreneurship is a people business and if you can learn how to deal with people's emotions and their behavior's, you will be able to tailor your product or service around the best interest of your client.
The next book mentioned was Quirky by Melissa A. Schilling. This one explains the remarkable story of the traits, foibles, and genius of breakthrough innovators who changed the world.
The stories highlighted were Elon Musk, Nikola Tesla, Steve Jobs, Albert Einstein, Benjamin Franklin, Marie Curie, Thomas Edison, & Dean Kamen.
The third book and a notable favorite is the Cash Flow Quadrant by Robert Kiyosaki. The concept of the book is 4 different ways to produce income.
Those are an employee, self-employed, business owner, & investor. A majority of the population are employee's & self-employed, they have no leverage.
They exchange their time for money. The business owners & investors have leverage. They have a system in place and their money works for them. These books are helpful for setting the foundation when it comes to your entrepreneurial journey!

When developing an investment strategy. There really 4 critical components. The first is understanding your financial profile. When would you like to retire?
What investment risk are you willing to take? How long do you plan to invest into the market until you'll need access to the funds?
Who else is in your retirement picture? What are some financial goals or needs you're planning around currently? Ask yourself these questions before building out your investing strategy.
The next step is deciding on your targeted asset allocation. Do you want to invest 80% of your portfolio in stocks and 20% in bonds?
Are you more conservative and want to place more bonds in your portfolio than stocks?
Are you wanting some crypto exposure and would like to allocate a portion of your portfolio into that asset class? Have a target and stick to it.
The 3rd step is understanding what investment mix fits you.
For someone that's much younger, they may have more risk in their portfolio because they have time in the market for it to recover over time.
An investor that's close to retirement, may need less risk and prefer investments that are more stable.
Your investment mix is going to be predicated on your time horizon and how soon you will need access to your investments down the line.
The last step is choosing you investment selections. Index & mutual funds are a great way to get started. Focus on investing in different sectors, indexes, & international markets that will grow over the long term.

While breaking down the different recessions the world has faced in the past and the recoveries that came after. Throughout history we have had 26 bear markets since 1928. 15 led to recessions and 11 did not lead to a recession.
Some of the more severe recessions were the Great Depression & the Great Recession. Where the depression led to unemployment reached 24.9% in 1933. Then with the great recession we had the housing mortgage crisis. Which led to a global credit crisis with the use of bad underwriting practices.
Kevin broke down the S&P 500 Bear Market's & Recoveries from 1956-2020. Which shows the length of bear market in months, S&P decline percentages, & the length of the recovery in months.

Trading security guide. We are extremely concerned about your… | by Hodl Hodl | Hodl Hodl | MediumNon-KYC Bitcoin: Hodl Hodl - a multisig P2P Bitcoin trading platformSparrow Wallet:Sparrow Bitcoin Wallet - Sparrow WalletThroughout this podcast, Kevin discussed the different aspects when protecting the privacy and security of your Bitcoin.
Those are buying Bitcoin privately, securing it properly, & coin management with labeling transactions.
When it comes to the privacy of your Bitcoin. You have the option of purchasing it using a Non-KYC or KYC platform.
The difference is when you use a centralized platform, they will have a KYC procedure. Where they ask for a lot of your personal information to open up an account.
Whereas with a Non-KYC procedure, you don’t have to provide any of that, and it allows you to protect your identity and privacy.
Kevin talked on the pros and cons between the two methods and the risks involved when considering either option.
He also explained the different cold storage methods on securing Bitcoin offline. Whether that’s through a hardware or software wallet.
Both options provide the flexibility of securing your assets and utilizing a multi-sig wallet. Where 2-3 people can sign a signature before any funds are released.
The freedom of using a software wallet is the ability to run your own node. Whenever you’re not running your own node, typically you are using someone else’s.
When that happens, you are giving up your privacy to a certain extent. Running a node allows you to validate and label your transactions.
Which allows you to take your security and privacy to another level. Learning about Bitcoin privacy is key to understanding the benefits of a network that’s truly censorship resistant and self-sovereign.

Kevin highlighted the reasons for Bitcoin self-custody and why it’s important to secure your own keys. As the old adage goes “not your keys, not your coins”. He explained the properties of Bitcoin.
Which is a network that is the most secured and decentralized when comparing it to other crypto assets. Privacy is also the value of self-custody because you can remove your Bitcoin off a centralized exchange.
Centralized exchanges such as Coinbase, Voyager, Celsius, or even Binance have control over your money, privacy, and ultimately the purpose of decentralization.
The argument can be made that in some aspects centralization will help bring more investors into this space and not everyone will want to have control over their private keys.
However, understanding the purpose of permissionless and borderless money is important when it comes to storing your Bitcoin on a hardware wallet.
Kevin explained the recent withdrawal halts from Celsius and why this presents a case for self-custody.
He also highlighted how FTX is providing credit facilities to BlockFi and Voyager Digital due to the liquidity crunch most of these exchanges have experienced due to macroeconomic conditions.
Will we see a contagion of the Celsius freezes happen among other centralized crypto exchanges? Who knows, one thing I do know is securing your private keys is essential when learning about self-custody throughout the crypto industry.

Kevin described the research paper "Wealth of Two Nations, The U.S Racial Wealth Gap from 1860-2020". He explained the racial wealth divide, as well as the comparison between black and white households.
Kevin explained the driving factors and the economic barriers surrounding the black community in the early 20th century. The racial wealth divide begins to decline significantly after the Emancipation Era. However, at the start of the 1930, the wealth gap became stagnant. Over the last 70 years, the wealth gap is around 6 to 1.
Which means the average white households has six times the wealth compared to black households. Some of this is in result of the Jim Crow Era, inequality with financial institutions, and the violet destruction of black neighborhoods.
Savings and capital gains were the two main characteristics among the wealth convergence. Lower savings and capital gains for blacks over time reflect their lower average income and wealth levels compared to whites.
Kevin went over various charts in the research paper that explained the dynamics of the racial wealth convergence, portfolio composition, and the future evolution of the future wealth gap.

What will be the Fed reaction to getting inflation under of control? Will it lead us into a further economic downturn? Will they raise rates .75 basis points? These questions were discovered throughout this video.
Kevin detailed his expectation on what we will see for the Fed meeting and how it will impact the markets and consumers in general. He went over how the rate hikes will impact both the Fed Funds & the prime rate. Which are rates that impacts both banks and clients that are looking to take out a loan.

Kevin describes the difference between instant & delayed gratification. As well as the importance of having long term thinking and not becoming a consumer within society. Focusing on the more rewarding long term gain is important compared to the immediate gain you can get today.
He goes over the popular marshmallow experiment conducted by Walter Mischel which detailed how students reacted to instant and delayed gratification.
Kevin also explained the concept behind time preference and how it plays a vital role with our decision making everyday.
Each financial choice we make everyday either lower's or increases our time preference. When an individual is able to lower their time preference, they have a better quality of life because they are not worrying about money.
They have accumulated capital over a long period of time and they now can focus on other areas in their life that gives them a higher purpose.
When individuals higher their time preference, they don't have the luxury of doing other things that give them meaning. Nor can they be more productive.
They continue to stay on the hamster wheel. This video is all about your mindset and understanding that your decisions everyday ultimately impact your finances in a positive or a negative way.

Why do we have a retirement crisis? How much do American's have saved for retirement? What are the solutions to solve this big problem? I discussed all these questions and provided insight on why the problems are prevalent within the economy.

Almost half of American's don't have anything saved for retirement. Most working age households are at risk and some working professionals don't contribute to their retirement plan at all. Which in result creates a need for depending on government sponsored plans such as Social Security, Medicaid, Food Stamps.

I mention how people have to take more control into their own hands because these programs are not intended to be your only source of income. Rather, it's utilize as a supplement. Another issue contributing to the retirement crisis is the underfunding of pensions.

Many pensions across the world have been underfunded due to market uncertainty and companies not being able to fulfill their commitments. Bonds make up a substantial amount in most state pension plans and with interest rate hikes throughout 2022, those don't look ideal has a suitable return of investment.

Overall, there are solutions being fulfilled to help encourage more people in America to invest for the long term. The House of Representatives passed the Strong Retirement Act which will automatically enroll employees into their employer's retirement plan. Fidelity also has come out and mentioned that they will give clients the option to invest in Bitcoin with their 401K's.

This podcast details the changing world order and how Bitcoin plays an important role on a macro-economic level. This was a breakdown of a session I watched at the Bitcoin Conference. Which discussed the macro-economics aspect of the Bitcoin network and looking at the history of economic cycles.
The name of the session was called “Bitcoin Macroeconomic Landscape”. Speakers on the panel was Jeff Ross, Jeff Booth, Preston Pysh & Mark Moss.
I examine each speaker’s take on where they see the economy now and what role Bitcoin plays on the global level.
Some of those concepts explained was looking at Bitcoin as a savings technology tool. It’s made to save, not to trade. This was Jeff Ross outlook on Bitcoin as a store of value.
Preston Pysh detailed the reason causing inflation and how we are seeing one of the biggest negative interest rate spreads in our lifetimes. He broke down how inflation is taking away any yield an investor can make on a bond.
I provided on overview of Mark Moss and Jeff Booth ideas around technology being the driver when looking at economic cycles.
Mark mentioned Ray Dalio book “Changing World Order, Why Nations Succeed and Fail”. He highlited how all nations roughly rule and are dominant for 250 years.
After that, it tends to be a reset and another nation takes over. This brought up a conversation around how the financial, political, and technological cycle is happening all once right now.
Jeff Booth closed it out with valid points around how the technology of Bitcoin is that it doesn’t require debt for the velocity of money.
With fiat currency (dollar), it’s a credit (debt) based system that relies on the speed of the velocity of money. The reason why we have a debt problem here in the US because their isn’t no cap on the amount of dollars the Federal Reserve can print.
Therefore the panel had one common theme and that was Bitcoin is the transition the monetary system needs. The system has to changed and the technology of Bitcoin is the future of finance.

Me and Alex discuss our best moments from the Bitcoin Conference in Miami. We explained the freedom Bitcoin brings for international countries. Korea, Africa, and Venezuela all deal with fallacies with government policies and weak monetary policies.
Bitcoin helps with these problems by having a sound monetary system that's decentralized and not controlled by anyone. It provides a store of value against currency devaluation. It also can be used as a medium of exchange. More and more institutions are using Bitcoin globally and we highlighted how it helps countries with authoritative regimes.
We also spoke on how the U.S could be moving towards a bitcoin standard with more options to use Bitcoin at retail stores to buy items. With the Strike announcement, they are partnering with NCR so everyone has the option to use Bitcoin at most major retail chains, such as McDonald's, Walmart, Best Buy, Chick-Fil-A, etc.
If a merchant want's to accept the payment in dollar's, they have the option to convert that Bitcoin into dollar's, if they want Bitcoin, they will get the desired currency they prefer. Which opens the doors for more adoption and the flexibility to move away from using the legacy financial system with Visa and MasterCard.
We also discuss the ESG conversation around Bitcoin and it's sustainability for 2022. It's just another challenge that this asset will overcome and we described how there are many alternatives to mining bitcoin with renewables. Such as flare gas, wind, solar, and even hydroelectric. In this conversation, Bryan Dunlap talked on the market outlook for this year and how the economy is being impacted by Federal Reserve Decisions. We discuss the consequences of how constant money printing widens the wealth gap with the rich and the poor. Inflation has played a pivotal role with increased prices among food, shelter, and energy. We described what the Consumer Price Index (CPI) is and how it's often flawed the way shelter is calculated.
Will the Fed continue to increase interest rates to reduce inflation? Will that lead to a recession? These questions were analyzed and more importantly we talked on how you can prepare if a recession happens. We look at the yield curve and explained how an inverted yield curve can be an indicator for a possible recession.
No one knows the timing but as an investor it's always smart to stay ready, so you don't have to get ready. Other topics explained was the 4 stages of the economic cycle and where we're at currently now. Towards the end, we went over some charts for Bitcoin and Ethereum. Me and the guest Vince Peterson discuss the value of fundamental and technical analysis. Fundamental analysis shows you what companies to buy, whereas the technical show you when to buy. We elaborated how to combine both fundamental and technical analysis when looking for opportunities in the market.
When focusing on fundamental analysis, you will look at the outlook for the industry, management team, current and new product lines, and the financial statements. This analysis gives you the ability to understand what potential the company has and what competitive advantage they have on the market.
The financial statements will show you the financial health of the company. Does the company make money or lose money? All of these elements will assist when deciding what companies to buy in the stock market.
As far as technical analysis, understanding market structure is important. Is the chart in an upward or a downward trend? Is the chart in a range where you can identify support and resistance?
Support is the level where the stock or currency has not fell below a certain point. Resistance is the opposite, it's the level where the stock or currency has not gone above a certain point.
Markets can also be choppy and as an investor you have to look at these different aspects to get a feel for market sentiment. Fibonacci Retracements, Candlestick Analysis, & Evaluating Time Frames were other tools discussed.

DeFi stands for decentralized finance and it's a protocol that allows people to utilized financial services without the need of a bank or an institution. Kevin details the importance of this innovative technology and how it works throughout the crypto world.
The future of finance is explained and how DeFi provides options that cater to individuals through staking, borrowing, lending, and liquidity pools. This will be the future of currencies and how transactions will move throughout our economy.
Kevin also explains what a defi wallet is and how digital wallet's provide opportunities within the DeFi space. He also goes into details on stablecoins and how it provides as a catalyst for the use of DeFi. Stablecoins are cryptocurrencies that are backed by the value of a fiat currency such as the US dollar, or a cryptocurrency.
The differences between centralized and decentralized finance were discussed. Centralized finance is predicated on a central authority to approved or decline a transaction. Such as a bank, institution, or a brokerage. There is a single party or a single location that is in control of the transaction.
With decentralization, it gives users the ability to take control of their money and have access to DeFi no matter where they are in the country. All you need is an internet connection and can start to change the trajectory of having freedom and choice when it comes to money.

This episode featured Rosco No E. Educator, Investor, Musician, & Entrepreneur discussed the future of the internet. Which will be Web 3.0, NFT’s & the Metaverse.
NFT’s stand for non-fungible token, and they are unique digital asset’s that can represent a picture, video, contract, or even a ticket to a sporting event. It literally can represent anything. Whereas a fungible item is something that can easily be replaced like the dollar.
Some of the opportunities we discussed with NFT’s is the ability to have control over content creation and adding value to your targeted audience. The utility cases can be tremendous where business owners can give clients extra services when they purchase their NFT’s or setting up a meetup where you can meet the person supporting your project.
NFT’s also have smart contracts attached to them where both parties must agree to the contract before it’s completed. The contract can’t be change and it’s automatically executed once the terms of the agreement are fulfilled.
Such as someone implementing a royalty of 5% for their NFT if it is resold to someone else in the market. The power of this is a person can build generational wealth by adding value in the marketplace and they can get paid in perpetuity for the rest of their life.
Rosco explained how Web3 will change the way we interact online with immersive experiences throughout the Metaverse and Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAO’s). As well as how NFT’s allow anyone to build their own community.
Web3 is essentially a decentralized protocol that will give users more control over their data, privacy, security, and creativity. It will lead to more transparency and trust amongst users because of smart contracts, blockchain’s, and digital wallets.
We talked about the transition from Web1 to Web2 and Web3 by explaining how Web1 was mostly read only on the internet. We couldn’t interact with Yahoo, Google, or AOL. Web2 introduced the communication and interaction components with social media, networking sites, and music. Web3 is a combination of digital asset's, virtual 3D worlds, and gaming that will be transformative in the world.
Creating events, concerts, and having jobs will all happen on the metaverse just like in real life. We also discussed the challenges of Metaverse and how it could put people in a deeper state than social media. Overall this discussion was all about the growth of crypto and how the blockchain will change the internet for years to come.

The number one aspect of investing in cryptocurrency is understanding SECURITY. Investors must keep privacy and protection top of mind when investing in crypto. It's important to distinguish the difference between hot and cold storage wallets.
In this episode, Kevin details those differences, as well as the importance of having private keys in case of hacks on an exchange or even worse, a global cyber-attack.
He explains why private keys give you the most control over your crypto assets because you're essentially your own bank. Kevin described the differences between the Ledger Nano X and S.
Which are hardware wallets that store your assets in cold storage. Holding your assets in cold storage means it's disconnected from the internet. Hot storage is when they are on a crypto exchange
He also explains some of the security steps required to fully program your Ledger and be on the road to storing your crypto in a safe and secure way. Other topics discussed was setting up your recovery phrase and additional options to add more security to your Ledger.

Throughout this episode, I discussed what portfolio construction is and why it's important when creating an investment portfolio. Portfolio construction is allocating percentages on the assets you decide to put into your portfolio.
I discussed the 4 steps you need to know when constructing your portfolio. Such as selecting the asset classes, determining the target percentage you will put in each asset class, deciding the maximum and minimum ranges for each asset class, and the actual selection of the securities that will go into a specific asset class.
I explain some of the asset classes such as stocks, bonds, cryptocurrency, and commodities. I also went into the risks of each asset class when it comes to inflation, interest rates, and volatility. Your time horizon, investment objective, and your risk tolerance will determine how you will develop your portfolio.
I went over my personal portfolio construction with 75% in stocks, 15% in crypto, and 10% in commodities. Towards the end I explain my strategy behind this allocation and some of the trends I'm seeing with technology. As well as with the Metaverse, NFT's, and DeFi.

Bitcoin Futures ETF is here and there will be many more to come. This podcast describes the risks you need to know when investing in a Bitcoin Futures ETF. BITO debuted on the NYSE exchange as the first bitcoin futures ETF in the U.S on October 19th, 2021.
I discuss if this ETF is a good opportunity for investors or if it's best to not invest and get exposure to Bitcoin with investing in it directly.
I also explain the risks associated with investing in a futures contract such as counter-party, costs/fees, as well as price manipulation among institutions holding the future contracts.
You will learn what a derivative contract is and how a Bitcoin Futures contact exactly works. I detailed the difference between an Bitcoin Spot ETF and a Bitcoin Futures ETF.
One tracks the price movement's of Bitcoin where the other is directly backed by the derivative of Bitcoin future contracts.
Other topics discussed was how an Bitcoin Futures ETF can be inaccurately price compared to the spot price of Bitcoin.
As well as the contango issues with selling cheaper future contracts that are closed to expiration to exchange it for more expensive future contracts that have a longer expiration. Which can be costly to the average investor.
This is essentially buying low and selling high, which is the complete opposite thing you want to do as an investor.

This episode featured Jakoby McKaye. Jakoby shared his expertise behind the auto financing business. His experience is within the mortgage refinancing and auto financial lending industry. Jakoby explained the business cycle behind processing an auto loan for a consumer.
From the moment a customer steps into a dealership to when they leave, Jakoby shared his perspective of what goes into a credit application to what a bank is looking for when they lend out loans.
At the end of the day it's all about risk and how likely is the customer willing to pay back the loan on the vehicle was his thoughts throughout the show. Why do prices increase over time? One of those reasons is due to inflation. With the Consumer Price Index for the July report showing an increase of 5.4% over the last 12 months, investors have to identify asset's that stay ahead of inflation.

Inflation is also an expansion of the money supply and the Fed has printed trillions of dollars in 2021 alone, as an investor you have to find strategic ways to increase your purchasing power. Saving money in dollars is no longer a strategy, the fiat currency will only devalue the more money they print.

Kevin details why value stocks, commodities, cryptocurrencies, and real estate should be in an investor portfolio during an high inflationary environment and why these assets provide a store of value.

This episode details the importance of technical analysis when investing in stocks, cryptocurrencies, forex, etc. Technical analysis is simply looking at historical price patterns or trends within the market.

The goal is to be able to see when an asset is in an upward (bullish) trend or a downward (bearish) trend. Analyzing these price movements allows an investor to determine what will happen with price of the asset in the future.

Some common technical indicators I mention were moving day averages, support and resistance. All of this allows an investor to minimize their risk and preserve capital over the long term.

It also helps balance your emotions by sticking to your trading strategy and looking at the facts when looking through the market. Continue to rate, leave, a review, and subscribe this podcast channel!

Those were selling informational products, affiliate marketing, flipping retail products online, and receiving dividends from stocks. I also briefly went over the advantages of passive income compared to earned or portfolio income.

In this 33rd episode, I went further into the remaining components of the stimulus package. Some of topics included funding for the transportation industry, rental assistance, child care sector, and support for small banks that serve low-income and minority communities.

The stimulus package is going in the right direction, however much of these industries will still need additional funding as 2021 rolls along. Please leave a review and rate this podcast, also support my Patreon page. Thank you!

Welcome to another year everyone, 2021! Throughout this episode, I went over a breakdown of the stimulus package that was passed in December of 2020. It will have many implications for everyone throughout 2021. Some of those changes were direct payments and unemployment benefits.

Most of the cost of the stimulus bill went to assisting small businesses in the amount of $325 billion. The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and the Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) will provide funding for small business owners that have been affected by Covid 19.

Lastly, $82 billion of the stimulus will be provided for universities and K-12 schools. Which will help with remote learning and create opportunities towards low-income families seeking higher education. Leave a review and rate this podcast.  Also support my Patreon page. Thank you!

In this episode, I discussed a more simplistic way to create a business plan. Most of my college professors taught me the traditional format of developing a business plan. However, creating a lean business canvas saves more time and it's a great way to build the philosophy of your business idea.

The lean business canvas focuses on nine key elements. Creating a solution for your customer segment problems and having a competitive advantage are some of the important areas I went over.

Business plans are great for entrepreneurs that are in the growth  and investment stage of their business. A lean business canvas is great for those just getting started in the ideation stage with their product or service.

Below is a link to download a free pdf of the "Lean Business Canvas". You can create yours today!

In this episode, I discuss the importance of maintaining a written budget and tracking your net worth. Having a budget creates the foundation for your spending habits. As well as giving you clarity on the amount you would like to invest, save, and spend every month.

A budget holds you accountable and creates a productive habit with managing your personal finances. Essentially it allows you to see what's coming in with your income and what's going out with your expenses.

Tracking your net worth is beneficial because it gives you the ability to stay focus on your financial goals. It gives you an overview of your financial health and it emphasizes the decisions you make with your investments. Tracking your net worth also keeps you motivated on eliminating your debt and it shows the true impact of your financial decisions.

In this episode, I discussed fundamental analysis and why it's important when investing. When using fundamental analysis, it allows an investor to look at the outlook of an industry, the management of the company, the product lines of the company, anticipated introduction of new products, and the market share of the company.

It also gives an investor the ability to look at the financial statements of a company and see how they have done financially throughout the years. Doing the research before you put your money into a company or fund is the #1 principle when investing.
