I hope you enjoy the episode and please let me know what your questions are over @PerfectlyImperfectSocial. I’d love to answer them next month!
One of the things that I’ve noticed about the female entrepreneurial world is we tend to get caught up in the dreaded imposter syndrome. I’ve seen advice that really promotes blocking out your “competitors” and not being worried about what they are doing. I agree and disagree with this advice. Mainly because I think that there is more than enough room at the table for all of us and I also love to learn from others in my industry! So, on that note I’d like to introduce you to Amy. Amy is a freelance digital strategist and the founder of two businesses - The Side Hustle and Better Than Fine. Listen in to find out what Amy’s top digital and social media tips are!

Over the last year or so, I’ve been reflecting more and more on how social media strategies shift depending on the industry you work in. While I’m a big believer in embracing your imperfections and not having everything picture perfect, there are some industries that do still lend themselves more to a polished look. One of them is design.
To help us have this conversation, I chat to Tamara Robbins Griffith. She’s a regular guest expert on CityLine, a fellow podcaster and partner in Kerr + Field Interiors. We talk about Tamara’s own entrepreneurial journey and what it means to create a social media presence that is reflective of your business values and what you stand for personally.

However, there are a few surprises in this interview and I discover that there is a whole lot more to talk about with Faye. I know that you’ll be as inspired as I was when you hear her story. Earlier this summer I decided to do my own Instagram Reels challenge. One of the main reasons that I wanted to do this is because I wanted to gather my own data and insights. I'm excited about all of my podcast episodes and all of the interviews that I do, but this one is pretty special to me as I got a chance to interview the founders of The June Motel, April Brown & Sarah Sklash. I've been a big fan of The June Motel and its Instagram presence since it started. While it is such a beautiful feed, it is real. One of the things that I love the most about having a podcast is that I get to sit down and learn all about other female entrepreneurs' business journeys. Today I talk with Julie LeJeune who is the founder of Wish & Give. We talk about her business and how the pandemic has affected it. And we do some live social media coaching - I love when my guests put me on the spot to solve their current challenges!Julie created Wish & Give to solve a problem. As a dedicated volunteer, she noticed small, local charities don't always have the time or the means to raise funds and awareness. And that's how Wish & Give was born - as a way to help Canadians help local charities help others. So Julie went to work, creating a unique, easy-to-use platform for community members to plan events and raise money for their favourite local charity.Through Wish & Give, Canadians can sell tickets or send out invitations to events while fundraising for one of 86,000 small organizations across the country. Julie included features like small (and affordable) donation amounts of between $2 and $10, allowing hosts to give guests the option to choose a charity and making their platform accessible to every local charity across Canada - no matter how small.I hope you enjoy! One of my big theories is that how we feel about ourselves and our body plays a role in how we show up on social media. Women tend to be highly critical of themselves and their appearance - myself included. For a number of years I would avoid being in photos and would never in a million years want to be on video! But I've been working on this and I want to help you do the same!In this episode, I talk to Chernell Bartholomew who is certified health coach, registered massage therapist and trainer who wants you to have vibrant energy. She has the most vibrant energy and in this conversation we cover:1. Why many women struggle with having a positive body image.2. The relationship between body image and social media.3. How it may be preventing female entrepreneurs from showing up as themselves in their social media. Finally, Chernell shares three tips that will help you get out there more and stop being so hard on yourself!
