All too often, we see health care practitioners running from shift-to-shift,  just getting through the day. The mindset is to "just get through this next rotation" because those 4-5 days are truly all about work, and getting themselves to and from the hospital. The mindset around work is that it's all-consuming, and they'll breath again a few days after their shifts are over.

Mindset coaching for nurse wellbeing brings so many benefits to the hospital. It enhances the health of their nurses, and patients. It also helps nurses be happier.  Essentially, health equity for nurses involves reconditioning through coaching and mindset training.

Most hospitals need leaders with strong clinical skills, as well as business/operational skills. To be a really good healthcare leader, whatever stage you're at in the chain of command, you also need people who want to stick with you. To be successful at that, you have to be likeable. You also have to have a keen sense of awareness, and emotional intelligence. There's a high cost to ignoring these three core principles, as a leader.

Well, it’s the best advice I have for you and it doesn’t need to be made into  a “mental health day” just because you feel like staying home.

About 15 years ago, I was running pretty fast. I was working as a nurse in labor & delivery. I’d just been forced to take a leave of absence from Chiropractic College because I was working too many hours while being in school, and not accomplishing the end goal. That led me down a horrific path, that took me 10 years to recover.

When you have stress in your life, it can be daunting to manage it. However, by maintaining a growth-oriented mindset, you learn new ways of thinking and perceiving - and in the end, you learn new strategies.

**I want you to recognize these 3 key things:**
  1. We’re not perfect - nobody!
  2. Growth is a universal human need that is obtained in many ways. Some grow through hobbies, some through our work or studies, and others in relationships.
  3. We are constantly changing and evolving.

In this post, I’m concentrating on #3, that we’re constantly in a state of change. The sun's rotation to the earth is constantly changing, which means the tide is changing, and the seasons are changing, and the colours of the leaves on the trees are changing. The amount of light we get daily is changing and it affects our mood.

Have you ever considered learning the ancient healing art of Vedic Meditation? This is the style of meditation that you do every day for 20 minutes at a time, twice per day. This is the same style of meditation that creates what some are calling a Super-Mind because it boosts your mental and physical performance so that you can live a richer and more fulfilling life. In Episode 15, I pick-up from the last episode regarding My Top 5 Myths Of Meditation and support you in creating a wonderful space that you'll call your own. While, the creation of such a space can be helpful, it's not necessary.

The key here is to think of your goal when you start your meditation practice. The most important thing to do is to get your practice/routine going and push through the days where you don't feel like it.

Perhaps you'd love a beautiful meditation room full of pillows and blankets but you don't have the space? Awesome. But you don't need it either.

Have a listen and I assure you that you'll think differently about how you manage a meditation space
