The programs main focus areas are the Physical, Personal and Financial Development of boys as they set and achieve goals. The Success Journal allows the boy or young man to document his thoughts, dreams and ideas as he makes his journey from boyhood to manhood.

Hardship can be the tipping point that leads to revolutionary breakthroughs. After many years in various sales and marketing positions, Marcus found himself out of work. As he dredged through the rigorous hiring process with tedious recruitment hoops to jump through, lengthy job board postings and too many applications lost in the system to even count, he knew something had to change. His vision was born from his own experience in the very daunting interim of the job search.
Marcus realized his resume had no personality. No voice. No emotion. Dawn is not a stranger to incarceration or recidivism. She has experienced several of her immediate family members go in and out of jail and prison over the years. Some of the stints of incarceration were due to poor decision-making, and some were due to the harsh realities of mental illness and their inability to stay motivated to get and keep their lives on the right path. Additionally, Ms. Freeman has several family members who dedicated 20+ years to law enforcement and corrections, which provides her with an even greater perspective on the challenges of pre-release programming and reentry, not just from the viewpoint of the incarcerated individual, but that of the corrections and law enforcement family.
Since 2008, Ms. Freeman has financially supported the reentry efforts of her church and local non-profit organizations. In 2016, Dawn expanded her community service efforts beyond a monetary contribution and began volunteering her personal time to a local reentry focused non-profit organization as a Facilitator. After engaging with individuals with backgrounds like her own family members and due to her decade long tenure in the corrections industry, the concept of The Securus Foundation was born. With the guidance and support of the Executive Team at Securus Technologies, The Securus Foundation is a reality.

Kenneth “Biznessman” Allen, founder of the Kenneth Allen Foundation for Entrepreneurship, Inc. (KAFFE, Inc.) CEO of K.S. Consultants and Managing Editor of Prominent Magazine which he co-owns with Entrepreneurial Icons Farrah Gray and Bill Mays. Allen was born and raised in an impoverished neighborhood in Gary, Ind. Growing up in a single-parent household, Kenneth defied national statistics for Black males and graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School at age 17.
Allen’s love for entrepreneurship began early. At 12, he started his first business venture, K.S. Candies, in his grandfather’s garage. Operating for more than six years, K.S. Candies ranked 79 out of 100 youth businesses in the nation according to Young Biz, Inc. By 15, Allen was sharing his love for entrepreneurship with others as a Certified Entrepreneur Instructor. He is Young Biz’s youngest certified instructor in the country.

Brian H. Williams, MD, FACS Kicked out of scouting for disciplinary issues, Dr. Brian H. Williams recovered and managed to become the first person in his family to attend college. He graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 1991 with a degree in aeronautical engineering, and as an Air Force officer directed classified research programs. After six years of military service, Dr. Williams answered the call to medicine and transitioned to the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, graduating in 2001. He went on to do his general surgery residency at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, MA and completed a fellowship in trauma surgery at Emory University/Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
