There happens to be a big ol' snow storm going on outside as I type this description, so Mike and I thought we'd talk a little bit about running in the snow. We know that injuries can pop up when us runners get a little out of hand and start hitting the road in unsafe conditions. So we chat about some ways to make your run in the snow a little safer and hopefully less likely to injure you!

We also dive into how to shovel properly, and some common injuries that pop up when you're shoveling snow!

There is also a visit from my kiddo Myles so our apologies for any crying, laughing or babbling in the background!

When did you start coaching?

Then we can get into your coaching philosophy:

What do you look for in an athlete?

What is your coaching philosophy?

Where do you stand on mileage? Do you believe in high mileage?

What types of data do you use when analyzing an athletes performance?

How do you keep your athletes motivated? Especially during the pandemic.

Origin Story.

How did you get into physical therapy as a career?

You work with some pretty elite athletes. How did you make those connections?

Are they human just like us?

What’s the major difference between working with elite athletes vs us normals?

Quick question for a listener. What’s the best course of action dealing with Achilles bursitis?

RunStrong

Your RunStrong program teaches runners the importance of dynamic warmups.

What is a dynamic warmup?

Why do I need to do them?

Building strength is another key part of the program.

What are some key exercises us runners should focus on?

I have a quick question from a listener about that, if i’m someone who lifts regularly, how often should I run?

Another aspect of the RUNStrong program is foam rolling and recovery.

Why is foam rolling so important for runners?

Talk about your bucket analogy for runners.

I’m your typical runner. All I do is run, I don’t have time to foam roll, warmup or work on strength. Convince me to start!

Is there anything else you’d like to add either about RunStrong or what ya have to offer at Foundation Performance?
