This led to lots of activity to discuss, including the release of "BxMxC" as a single and music video, a review of the decade led by a trio of music industry journalists, 10 different configurations of a best-of song compilation (with versions that include retrospective interviews with Su-metal and Moametal, a battle card game, photobooks, flags, posters, selections of live performances), a fan-voted song tournament, a trivia contest, and three statistically impossible feats of guesswork. With promises of more things yet to be announced. An expensive (but exciting) cap on an expensive (but exciting) decade. We wade through all of it, join us!

In a recent interview with Kobametal, we learned that BABYMETAL plans to team up with the Rock-may-kan club in Tokyo for a project to support the venue, themed around "10 days" and "STAY METAL", a reference to BABYMETAL's upcoming 10-year anniversary. Rock-may-kan (Rokumeikan) is the venue where BABYMETAL's first public solo show was held, Legend Corset Festival, in July 2012. June 28, 2019, arrived and suddenly we are drowning in news. Even shorthanded, we needed to record something, so we attempted a quick overview of the news to date as of the moment of recording. Spoiler: we succeeded in the overview part, not the quick part. (Also spoiler: more news arrived after we recorded, which we will talk about next time!) People started receiving the Dark Night Carnival/Download 2018 set, Tattoo became Kagerou, PA PA YA!! was officially released. Two performances in Yokohama and one in Glastonbury gave us two new songs, lots of new photos and videos, a bonus sound check, new costumes and visuals, and a new approach to covering the third on-stage position. Two of three “brave avengers” in that position (Riho, Kano) have appeared so far. If that weren’t enough, we also got a title and release date for the upcoming album (METAL GALAXY, Oct 11, 2019), and Japanese and extensive European dates added onto the tour, which now stretches until March 2020. The Glastonbury show provided pro-shot footage and a bonus sound check. And there are interviews again. We talk for a long time about all of this, and there will still be more to say later. It's an exciting time to be a BABYMETAL fan! Join us!

We begin 2019 talking mostly about two tweets, a poster, and a song in a video game. The official New Year’s tweet from BABYMETAL contained a cryptic image and references to “dawn,” “odyssey,” and “metal galaxy” that have led to interesting speculations among the fans. Also discussed (just prior to its release) is the appearance of “Starlight” on Rock Band 4, and what that might bring. And we talk of anniversaries: a year since guitarist Mikio Fujioka passed away, birthdays of guitarists Ohmura and Isao. Even in the slow time after the end of the 2018 tour, there are still trickles of news.

BABYMETAL opened for Judas Priest in Singapore, then played three festival dates at the Good Things Festival in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane). These shows marked a return to a three-person formation, with Saya Hirai taking up the third position, and introduced a new Kami band guitarist, Yusuke Hiraga.
