The TrailManners crew is from the beautiful trails in Ogden, Utah and we’re here to connect you to wherever trail, ultra and mountain running takes us. We’ll chat with amazing athletes, discuss the latest trends and get you stoked for your next trail adventure.
We will have interviews, gear reviews, race reports, LOTS of podcasts, contests and loads of entertainment from beers of the week, random bigfoot sightings, race updates and everything in between. We promise to always bring our passion and love for the trails as well as a healthy appetite for cheese curds and a solid IPA. We want to thank you for taking this journey with us. xo, Aric “TrailManners” Manning and Gunnar TrailManners is about capturing the moment: the possibility that everyday has the potential to be the best day of your life. Every day.
As promised we are back with Preston Wood for an early talk about the 2026 Hardrock 100 field but we also dive into lotteries in general. We throw some ideas back and forth and may have solved a Hardrock problem (or is it). We have so much respect for RD's and races but open conversation is also very good. We have fun, go deep into lotteries and best of all- we can all have opinions and get along.
Love to hear ideas....
PLUS, love to hear your race thoughts for Aric!

Rainshadow Running puts on one of the most beautiful 100 mile races in North America - the Orcas Island 100. In February, Sarah toed the line at Moran State Park and left with memories of a lifetime. Surrounded by her family, Sarah completed the race in 34:07. We recap the training, the race and the travel as well as a creek crossing that will not be forgotten.
If you get a chance, and love the "Old School, Laid Back, Grassroots Vibes" check out the many races that James and Katy put on. You will not be disappointed!

When Jim Skaggs came to Utah I am sure he had no idea the impact he would make and the legacy he would leave. It's been 20 years since the first running of the Buffalo Run on Antelope Island and this past weekend Jim packed his trailer for the final time.
We sit down with Jim and to hear the stories of so many events that he directed: Buffalo Run, Logan Peak, Harriman, Antelope Island Fall Classic, Frary Peak Hill Climb and others. The stories will turn to legends and the friendships will remain.
Thank you Jim and Karen Skaggs for all you have done here in our trail community here and the trail community everywhere.
Make sure you listen to the end as we have some special memories shared by lives that were touched.

We had a great time talking to Michael about his love for running and going after the 100 mile distance. If you talk to Michael you can see the happiness all over his face, he truly love being in the mountains and has a deep passion for what he does. As Michael says- "More is better."
When you see him on the trail, expect a high five or a big hug. What Michael brings to the trails is definitely contagious.
Good Luck with 2025 and we can't wait to see what's next!

Justin just finished his 3rd Bear 100 and took the time to sit down and give us a blow by blow account. I had the pleasure of pacing Justin for a few miles and got a front row seat of how our struggles might slow us down but our heart and will can carry us through some tough times. He is as strong as they come and he "gutted" this one out with some help from his family.

We were extremely lucky to get 3 incredible guests (Tara Warren, Shannon Day, and Amy Musgrove) on this weeks podcast to talk about RUFA- Running Up For Air. RUFA was started and founded by trail running legend and great guy- Jared Campbell and has been going on for many years. There is still time to register and sign up to volunteer so go ahead and get involved.
RUFA:The Up For Air Series brings endurance athletes together to celebrate a shared passion for running, amplify informed dialogue about air quality issues, and support organizations that are working toward solutions. We strive for a minimal footprint on the trails but maximal impact on the nonprofits fighting for cleaner air in our communities.
You can see more on their social channels and website at upforairseries.org - Please check it out!
I will be hanging out the RUFA Malans so please come by and say Hello!
