Our oceans are vast and amazingly deep, and divers are excited to explore their waters. God desires for us to dive deeper and discover the excitement that comes from having an intimate relationship with Him. Called to do this on a personal level, as well as within our own homes, God's Word provides us with the tools we need to deepen our walk with God.
As believers in Jesus who have been forgiven by His work on the cross, what should our lives look like? Are there good and wise practices that we can follow that will result in blessings, mature faith, and be a benefit in our families? The bible teaches a lot about living in God's Kingdom. The Blessing of Facing Opposition (Matthew 5:10-12)
Living a supremely blessed life as a Christ-follower also means having a deal with harassment and opposition and persecution from others. As we wrap up our series on the Beatitudes, we will look at how to face the pressures we feel from our society today and remain faithful to our Savior and to the truth of His Word.
The Blessing of Restored Relationships (Matthew 5:9)
Jesus came to bring peace, but humanity often rejects it. Millennia of war, strife and unrest has proven that. Why is peace so hard to find and sustain? Join us as we continue our sermon series from Matthew 5 as Pastor Mark preaches on, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."
The Blessing of Integrity (Matthew 5:8)
Integrity is what you are when no one else is looking. As we continue in our series, we will look at the importance of living with integrity when it comes to what we say, see, think, and feel. Remaining "pure in heart" allows us the blessing of being able to "see God" and enjoy a close personal relationship with Him. With the Spirit's help, we can experience God's presence, feel His power, and relax in His peace and forgiveness.
The Blessing of Being Merciful (Matthew 5:7)
We all love the fact that Jesus does not give us what our sins deserve (death and separation); instead He loves and forgives us as He shows us mercy. We love His mercy, but at times we are not so quick to show that same mercy to others. That's an issue because Jesus tells us, "Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy." Join us as Pastor Dave looks at the unmerciful servant and then what the blessing of being merciful looks like in your life.
The Blessing of Living God's Way (Matthew 5:6)
Righteousness involves a relationship and a lifestyle. it's a relationship we, as Christ-followers, enjoy because God has made us right through faith. However, it's also a lifestyle because, in response to God's love and grace, we seek to live a life of righteousness that honors our Lord. This week, as we look at Jesus' fourth beatitude, we will look at the righteousness God freely offers, as well as what it takes to have a hunger and thirst for "Living God's Way".

Gentleness may be an attribute we value in a nanny or a nurse, but it doesn't seem beneficial in our tough world. Jesus says it is. The Blessing of Depending on God (Matthew 5:3)
The Beatitudes are much more than nice sayings to be written on wall plaques. These words from the lips of our Lord provide direction and guidance for the heart of every true believer. In the eight Beatitudes recorded in Matthew 5, we rejoice in Jesus' wisdom that allows us to live a life that is supremely blessed! This Sunday, we look at the blessing that comes our way when we humbly depend, not upon ourselves, but upon God.

No one wants to be envious. No one really likes "wishing" to be someone they can't be or "wanting" stuff they can't have. this Palm Sunday we will look at how, like the religious leaders in Jesus' day, sometimes envy can have us in its grip, too. Thankfully, as we look at the sin of envy, we will also learn how God can help us replace that sin with a sense of contentment and thanksgiving.

We are the most affluent, richest, and maybe the most blessed nation in history, yet we struggle the most with worry. Jesus came to fix that. The Bible (John 16:33) tells us that "in this world we will have trouble." It's a fact -- you cannot avoid it. We will all walk down the dark path of sorrow, loss, and grief from time to time. The good news is that the verse goes on to say, "take heart, I have overcome the world". Join us this Sunday as Pastor Dave digs into God's Word to give us tools to overcome sorrow, loss, and grief.
The desert monks of the 3rd century were surprised by a certain apathy or melancholy that seemed to overcome some of their brothers. They called it Acedia. It wasn't depression but manifested itself with spiritual indifference, a soul stupor, dullness, and lethargy. They no longer marveled at the sacrifice of Jesus. Is this an issue in our 21st century church? This Sunday Pastor Mark continues our sermon and preaches on Overcoming Apathy.
Without a doubt, lust isn't simply a dangerous sin, it's hard to defeat. And, because of its destructive potential, the Bible warns us not to mess around with it. Here's the stark reality - you and those around you are dying from sinfulness. But here's the good news - Jesus has given you the greatest gift of all - forgiveness! So, why do we sometimes wrestle with forgiveness? God calls us to receive His forgiveness, to forgive ourselves, and to offer forgiveness to others. This week Pastor Dave will use what we've covered so far to help us unpack what it looks like to be "Livin' Forgiven". We will see how God replaces our doubt, guilt, grudges, regrets, and fears with security, grace, freedom, hope, and courage... and that changes everything!
As we continue in our series, "Embracing Forgiveness", we will look at how "Forgiveness Brings Power" to us today. Sin will always exist in our world, and we will always need to forgive people who hurt and wound us. Considering just how much God has already forgiven us in Christ, we are called to release these individuals and, if possible, reconcile with them. That, however, can be difficult. Thankfully, as we continue in the series "Embracing Forgiveness", we will find that God's Word provides us with the guidance we need to forgive others, just as He has forgiven us.

"I know God has forgiven me, but I just cannot forgive myself." This is a comment often heard in the offices of pastors, counselors, and therapists. This Sunday, as we continue our sermon series, "Embracing Forgiveness", Pastor Mark will discuss the love found in I Corinthians 13 and help us answer the question, "How Can I Forgive Myself"? There is healing, hope, and wholeness to be found for those who wrestle with the challenge of forgiving themselves.
In Luke 15, Jesus teaches a story about a son who turns his back on his father and leaves, but then recognizes his mistake and comes back home to find a father who is quick to forgive and restore him. When we recognize our sinfulness and turn to God in humble repentance, we can celebrate the fact that we will always find forgiveness and restoration from our heavenly Father who loves us. This Sunday (August 7) we begin a new sermon series where we will first explore "Finding Forgiveness".
As we wrap up this series and look at how "Everyone Needs a Coach", we are reminded that God wants each of us to "win the prize" of being in a relationship with Him, both now and forever. And while good coaching is important, having the right coach is critical! No matter what we do in life, as long as God is directing us and coaching us through it, we can be confident that we will succeed.

That sparked events that profoundly changed the course of western history. But is the Reformation still relevant today? In Romans 1:16-17, Paul longs to visit Rome so that he can share the Gospel. He declares, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. As Christians, we should love each other with the love that comes from God.
It’s plain to see that we live in a messed up, sin-filled world! Should we throw our hands in the air and give up? No! Jesus has (and is) the antidote for all that ails us and our society. He has (and is) the cure for all and any of the sinful characteristics that we deal with daily. In this stand-alone sermon, “Our Disease…God’s Antidote”, Pastor Dave will focus on God’s remedy for hatred, violence, divisiveness, self-centeredness, and evil.
