Host Nick Tomasi is the inventor of the Diamond Grip, Non Slip guitar pick called The Grip Reaper. He has always used music as a release, and has found that many others use it as a form of therapy too. In this podcast we talk to people from all walks of life that use music in their own way, as an escape or in some cases as a form of treatment.

She is very much the creative mind and sounding board of all things Grip Reaper, and is an incredibly talented singer and musician on her own.

On this episode I bring in an extremely important piece of The Grip Reaper Family, my Dad. When people think of our company, they usually think of me, as I am the guitarist, I came up with the initial idea, I am the face and voice that you see and hear on Social Media. However, there are SOOO many other people that are a huge part of this journey. One of these people is my father, Mario, who has been the brains behind actually making the pick come to life. Trials, errors, more trials, adhesives, types of picks, etc etc. He has been the driver of making the actual pick happen, so first of all THANKS DAD. Secondly, in this episode we talk about what is happening now, and what our next steps are.

My guest today is my very first Guitar teacher Dave Fabris. It was so great to re connect with him. In this episode we talk about about our favourite guitar gear, what makes a great teacher and also Dave talks about how he got into music which touches on the therapeutic form that music takes.
As you will hear in this episode, Dave is one of those teachers that makes every student feel special and makes you love to learn. He definitely left his mark with me.

When the idea of The Grip Reaper Guitar Picks started to unfold, and I knew it was going to become something that people will want, I wanted it to be more than just something to make money. I wanted to make sure it made a difference. Which is why charity will always be a part of it. This podcast was created so we could talk about how music is used as a release for our guests and how they use it, but also how it is used as a therapy for some conditions. Which is why I am very excited to have my friend Tara McNiff on this episode, as Musical Therapy is the profession she wants to pursue.
I loved having Tara on as my guest, as she is not only smart, but as you will hear we can talk about music for hours and hours....don't worry, this was only 20 minutes ;)
