n this explosive episode of Modern Art is Rubbish, we dive into the unfolding controversy surrounding street artist Ben Eine, who’s been accused of vandalising murals, silencing fellow artists, and erasing voices—literally.

Artists Sprite and Snub claim Eine retaliated after they spoke out against his past—specifically, his 2018 assault conviction. In a bold act of protest, one of Sprite’s murals has been transformed into a powerful statement reading: “BEN EINE HITS WOMEN.”
We unpack the allegations, the art world’s response, and the ethics of using art to challenge abuse of power.

In the second half, we explore Picasso’s Weeping Woman (1937)—a masterpiece of sorrow, but also a portrait shrouded in questions of emotional control, artistic dominance, and who really owns the story in a painting.

Power. Protest. Paint. This is modern art with teeth.

n this episode of Modern Art is Rubbish, we dive into two tales of art, money, and misplaced confidence.

First up, Trump’s fake Renoir—for years, he’s insisted he owns an original Pierre-Auguste Renoir painting, Two Sisters (On the Terrace), despite the actual one hanging in the Art Institute of Chicago since 1933. Does he know? Does he care?

Then there’s Warhol’s Trump Tower silkscreens—commissioned, created, and then rejected by Trump because they didn’t match his pink and orange interior. Fast forward a few decades, and one of these unwanted artworks sells for $950,000. An expensive mistake?

And just to add to the mix, Trump’s $TRUMP cryptocurrency is now being called “art” to avoid pesky financial regulations. Is this a clever loophole or just another layer of the absurd?

It’s art, money, and questionable taste—Modern Art is Rubbish at its finest.

We are talking all things screamy for this next episode join us as we discuss this Edvard Munch Classic work.

Who was MunchBorn 1863 Edvard Munch was a Norwegian painter and printmaker whose work is associated with the Symbolist and Expressionist movements. He is best known for his painting “The Scream,” which is considered a masterpiece of modern art. Munch was also a prolific printmaker, creating over 2,000 prints during his lifetime. He died in 1944.

Edvard MunchWhat is ExpressionismExpressionism is an art movement that originated in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century. It emphasizes the artist’s emotions and inner experiences as the source of inspiration for the art, rather than external reality. Expressionist paintings often feature bold, distorted forms and expressive, often exaggerated, use of color to convey the artist’s emotional state. The movement was particularly popular in Germany and Austria, but also had a significant impact on art in other countries, including the United States. The Expressionist artists aimed to express their innermost feelings and ideas through their work, often using symbolism and metaphor to convey deeper meaning.

The Scream“The Scream” is a painting created by the Norwegian artist Edvard Munch in 1893. It depicts a figure standing on a bridge or a walkway, with a distorted, anguished face

The painting features a bold and striking color palette, with the central figure standing out against an orange-red sky that is said to represent the intense and fiery tones of a sunset. The figure’s face is distorted, with a pale complexion and a contorted open mouth, expressing fear and anguish. The figure’s clothing is a deep, dark blue, which adds to the sense of isolation and despair. The background is painted in shades of green and purple, with a swirling, swirling pattern that suggests a sense of movement and instability.

Munch created several versions of this painting, including a pastel version and a tempera version. The pastel version is considered the most famous and iconic, and it is currently on display at the National Museum in Oslo, Norway. The tempera version, which is similar to the pastel version but uses a thicker, more layered paint, is on display at the Munch Museum in Oslo. Both versions of the painting are considered masterpieces and are considered among the most recognizable and iconic images in art history.

A disaster of biblical proportions in for this Jurassic Jesus! Joseph and Mary pray that their miracle child may gain strong absA canine christmas sceneSnow at Argenteuil 1875Snow at Argenteuil” is a painting by the French Impressionist Claude Monet, completed in 1875. It depicts a scene in the town of Argenteuil, located just outside of Paris, during the winter season. In the painting, the town is blanketed in snow and the trees and houses are covered in a layer of white. The sky is gray and cloudy. In the foreground, a group of people are walking along a snowy path. In the foreground there tracks in the snow made by a cart, this helps to give perspective and leads the viewers eye into the painting as does the trees either side of the road The painting is mainly a monochrome using a lot of blue and grey tones with few warmer tones used on the trees and the buildings. The painting is not very detailed but conveys the peaceful winter atmosphere really well. The painter Manet apparently wanted to paint a snow scene but upon seeing this painting, decided that could not do any better than this work and abandoned the idea
