Introducing Milan Bittenbender of True Wellth Coaching
I’m so glad to have Milan Bittenbender with me on the show today. I’ve known Milan a bit over the years, as we’ve both served as pastors in the Wesleyan Church in the West Michigan area.
In 2022 Milan transitioned from vocational pastoral ministry, and during a 3-month sabbatical, he decided to focus on his physical health and wellness. He lost 35 pounds in 67 days. Check out his Before (L) and After (R) pictures in the show notes/blog post for this episode!

Why Pastors and Other Ministry Leaders Should Write a Book
If you've been a pastor, missionary, or ministry leader for any length of time, you've already written a book...you just might not realize it yet!
Think of all the sermons and devotionals you've written over the years. Did you know you could easily turn each sermon series into a book, which you could make available to your congregation, or sell on Amazon or even your local bookstore? This is a great example of passive income: You create something one time and it can make money for you over and over and over again.
And beyond the church ministry realm, if you’re looking to launch your own message-based online platform, or even a service-based or brick and mortar business, a book can really open doors for you and help you grow your audience and build your authority, which in turn will help you grow your income.
Introducing Jennifer Harshman of Your Book Bakery
I’ve wanted to write a book for a couple of years, sharing lessons I’ve learned from my More Than a Pastor journey, and observations on where I think the future of the church is headed, but I put it off a long time. And then eventually I got started, but stalled out, because I didn't have a clear framework to keep me moving forward.
Then recently, a couple of my friends released their new books, and I discovered that Jennifer Harshman of Your Book Bakery played a key role in getting them published.
Jen is the author of Your Book Bakery: Making it Easy to Write a Book. And She believes that if you can follow a recipe to bake a cake, you can write a helpful non-fiction book.
I met Jennifer through John Stange’s Platform Launchers community. But then I realized later that she and I are also members of Dan Miller’s 48 Days Eagles community for entrepreneurs.
And I’ve been amazed at how many people just in those communities that Jennifer has worked with, let alone hundreds of other clients Jen has helped to write, edit, or publish their books, since 1992

Erik K. Johnson on How to Build Authority with a Podcast
Launching a podcast is one of the fastest ways to gain an audience and establish yourself as an authority in your area of expertise. But people get hung up when they don’t know how to get started, and they have fear of the tech that might be required.
I know that’s what held me up and kept me from launching the More Than a Pastor show for several years. So, starting a business or side hustle can “sound” easy and fun to many of us, especially if we’re making money…what’s not fun about that?
But there’s a B side to business that’s not fun for everyone, and that often holds us back or slows us up from accomplishing what we know we need to do.
On today’s show I want to introduce you to someone who definitely can help you out with the B side of your new business. My friend David Steininger. Dave is the host of the Self Employment Sidekick show, and he’s an expert at helping business owners navigate the less-than-fund aspects of working for yourself. What Makes an Experience Memorable?We've all been impacted by memorable experiences in some way, haven't we?
An experience is memorable because of how it touched or spoke to us, stuck with us long past the experience, and motivated us to some kind of action, which could be as simple as telling others about it, or something else.
Sometimes memorable experiences just happen - like when we take the family camping and it rains for days and we're stuck in the tent the whole time playing games. No one would have asked for a washout camping trip, but it created a memorable shared experience that the family still talks about years later.
But memorable experiences can also be created, and certain businesses, like Disney and Apple, are famous for creating memorable experiences for their customers....

Yeah, it’s the day when most people have ditched or abandoned their New Year’s Resolutions.
Do you ever get frustrated by resolutions that just don’t work? I know I do. And I hate the stress and sense of guilt that comes from not achieving goals I set.
Actually, I realized that pretty much all of my past resolutions were actually more like wishes than goals.
The problem was that I hadn’t clearly defined exactly what I wanted and why, and I didn’t have any kind of strategy or system to help me achieve them.
Then one day I discovered a simple framework for turning resolutions into meaningful goals, and these goals into reality.
What this did for me was create more alignment and integration in my life, which created more momentum that propelled me closer to achieving my goals.
Now, Instead of having several disparate goals that I’m pursuing independently, I strategically map out a way to align my biggest goals together so I can pursue them in a unified way.
