As we embrace homestead ideas we begin to form homestead ideals. Sarah and I seem to be shifting in our ideals and finding contentment right where we are.
Raising plants, small animals and children are such a joy. The feeling of parenting is compared with gardening and animal husbandry.

On the homestead, spring time is planting time. This season has prompted me to make some food intake changes. Here's my plan.
In this podcast, I encourage people to grow in three different ways. There are a couple of good nuggets in here I think that will be helpful for anyone who would listen.
Chicken math is the phenomenon that people buy or get chickens in groups, seemingly multiplying with little effort. Sarah and I crossed the line and almost tripled our backyard flock in a matter of hours. Can you say, "crazy chicken people?"
