The weekly podcast where we, the creatively challenged, challenge ourselves creatively. Also, home to the "Pokemon Legacy" TTRPG podcast.
We review our best (and worst) ideas of the first year of the podcast and try to figure out if any of them have a future--either on the show or off. Obviously we're very into our ideas for Chaonica and Pokemon Legacy and will be building off of them in future episodes...but what about our other ideas? Who knows?!
Coronavirus is here to stay for a while and we've decided to make the best of it by inventing a sport that is inherently safe for the times we live in. We may not be the most sporty of spices, but we cooked up a pretty spicy sport here. Between recording and releasing this episode, we actually almost went out to play it. Almost.
So...Jake has a big ol' tree in his backyard and he claims he's going to build a treehouse in it, despite not knowing how to build stuff. So we turn to our old friend Minecraft to help us plan it out and bring it to life. Houston doesn't help because he's sick and also doesn't play Minecraft like the cool kids. Also, we take a trip North to Shelley, Idaho for that classic segment, Stories From Shelley where we learn about his dad's weird taco-related hobby.

In a move that SEO experts call "the opposite of optimization", we decided to do an episode about made-up words. Bryan has had this made-up phrase in his head since he was little and he's never known why or what it could possibly mean, so we trawl the internet looking for meaning and eventually settle on an extremely boring, practical solution.
But Bryan is finally at peace.
This episode is so dumb and the timing of releasing this type of dumb content is terrible because there are much more important conversations happening, but we felt like maybe people may need a break and need to listen to some silliness. The Perfect Brainstorm Crew dream up the perfect island headquarters. Then Houston carries out a heist and steals the episode.
And so we begin our side project of creating and playing a Pokemon 5e variation RPG based off the world we created in the 2nd episode of Perfect Brainstorm.
Our heroes gather together to determine a plan necessary to fend off the invading Alien Race, the Quista.
The Professor and his Golett travel back in time to bring the party together so that they may prevent the dictatorial reign of the Quista. Unfortunately, our party doesn't seem to take him completely serious yet.
Terrance, a native Dragonborn, brought on for his power prestige, is already getting himself both figuratively and literally lost due to his overconfidence.
Zef, a defector from the Quista race, is hoping to bring a good name to some of the non conquering Quista, but first needs to need to conquer his own fears.
Maybe, a master spy and archaeologist, is already too sneaky and smart for her own good.
It looks like they all have their work cut out for them if they want to save the Swatu Region!
This is a relaunch of a previous set up episode for our Pokemon Legacy RPG Campaign. We figured it would be worth relaunching in case anyone needed a refresher.
After trying and failing to turn our ideas for a Pokemon region into a video game, we decide to play D&D with some Pokemon rules so we can tell our story without having to know how to make a video game.
In this episode, we set the stage for the game, further flesh out the Swatu region from episode 2, and introduce our characters we'll be playing in this ongoing series.

Well, just when you thought we couldn't have more Pokemon ideas, we did. We make our own personality test that tries to provide some resemblence of merit while making it exciting and fun. We start creating a personality test that allows you to pick your spirit Pokemon or create your own. All that is important though is that Tom Delong is the Sensu Style Oricorio.
In a fit of late-night insanity, we attempt to create a sequel to an eternal video game. Did you know it just passed Tetris as the highest-selling video game of all time? We didn't. We really lost control of things on this episode, to be honest. Just be aware of that. And, um, yeah. I'm not sure we ever solidified our ideas into an actual game, but we had some great recommendations for the good folks of Mojang and Microsoft to maybe take their game up a notch.
Jake was missing in action this week so Bryan and Houston decided to make an impromptu D&D character creation episode based off characters they would like to see in their "Prakticians" novel (see episode 15). Due to technical difficulties this episode is coming out late, but we will still have our Minecraft 2 episode coming out tomorrow.
In a surprising turn of events, Houston hijacks Bryan’s Super Bowl-themed episode to talk about football. Jake and Bryan learn more than they ever wanted to know about the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49-ers in preparation for the big game this Sunday.
But in the process, we come up with a really exciting lineup for all of the networks who don’t have the luck to be broadcasting the Super Bowl…including Twitch, I guess? Also some great content for non-football fans to enjoy this Sunday.

Yes, it is as convaluted as it sounds!
Remember that one kid at recess who was too busy reading fantasy books to do anything else? It's going to be really hard to believe Bryan wasn't that kid after listening to this episode. (I swear I wasn't! I'm not even that into fantasy!)
In honor of Thanksgiving, the ultimate made-up holiday, we decided to make up our own holiday. It's time we finally made some social impact so we're introducing St. Vitus Week. A week about raising awareness for mental health and dancing non-stop . . . possibly until you die.
So we set out to expand our listener demographic by specifically appealing to a fandom to which we do not belong. About half of the episode is us trying to figure out which fandom we can fake our way through. The second half is us creating a surprisingly good name generator that any animatronic animal would be proud of...hopefully.

With the help of self-proclaimed prequel cynic Cavan Helps, we set out to make the ultimate sequel that even he can enjoy.
