This story is found in all four gospels, and it shows us several very important aspects of being citizens of God's Kingdom. Jesus gives us the example of being compassionate people, and more importantly, he invites us to be a part of the work that he is doing.

In the process of addressing a specific sin committed by an individual in the church, Paul addresses the responsibility of the entire church body to strive for purity and truth together. The same is true for us today.

In this passage, Paul reminds the Corinthian believers, and us, that humility is the thing that draws people toward Christ rather than arrogance. It is so easy to become puffed up and arrogant in a society that is constantly telling us to make more of ourselves. However, humility is the thing that most closely identifies us with Christ.

Disney's Grand Floridian Chocolate Chip Cookies
Jamborees
3 Cups of Flour 435g
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar 200g
2 eggs
2 TBSP vanilla
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy (about 5 minutes). Add eggs and vanilla and incorporate. Finally add flour and salt. Drop by small spoonfuls and roll into balls. Make a small indentation in the center of each ball. Put at small amount of apricot jam or preserves in the indentations. You can add chopped nuts if you wish.
Place on a cooking sheet and bake for 8-12 minutes in a 375 degree preheated oven.
These spread quite a bit when baking so don't place them too close together. If you chill the dough first, you can roll the dough into better balls and make perfect cookies.

Cranberry Sauce - 1 12oz. bag of fresh cranberries
The juice of 1 orange
1/3 to 1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 tsp. of ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. of fresh ground nutmeg
1/3 cup of water
Combine all ingredient in a small pot and cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the berries pop and it thickens into a sauce consistency. About 12-15 minutes.

This week Derrick and Jason look at John 18 as the path to the cross begins to intensify quickly. They take the opportunity to think on the great faithfulness of Jesus to do what the Father had told him to do, and how he is faithful in our lives today.
This week Derrick and Jason move to John 17. This is a transition chapter in the path toward the cross. Jesus moves from teaching and preparing His disciples to facing the cross head on. But it is a very important chapter as we see the focus of Jesus' work on the cross: God's glory.
Derrick and Jason take a look this week at the impact that Jesus' teaching has on our outlook on life. Our sorrow will be turned to joy as we seek after Jesus on the path to eternity. We can find joy in the midst of adversity if we remain in Jesus.

As Jesus celebrates his final Passover on earth with His disciples, we are given an incredible example of what our lives as followers of Christ should look like in this passage.
