The conversation reflects on the podcast's humble beginnings in 2014—originally as a Microsoft-centric show—and its evolution into a broader industry resource.

Evergreen’s Growing PortfolioEvergreen was founded in 2017 and already has over 85 software and services companies within its portfolio. The company distinguishes itself as a long-term partner for businesses, focused on acquiring and holding them indefinitely instead of a temporary exit strategy. This ‘forever home’ philosophy resonates with founders seeking to preserve their legacy while gaining the resources and support to drive further growth. Evergreen provides a proven roadmap for success and empowers both existing management and newly placed leaders (often MBA graduates) to drive results. The company fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the exceptional teams across its entire portfolio.
A comprehensive list of recent investments is available on the Evergreen website.
The acquisition strengthens Evergreen’s position as a major provider of IT and ERP solutions, particularly for businesses utilizing Microsoft Dynamics. For those already working with SSI, the transition should be seamless with continued quality support. Companies seeking ERP services will have a wider range of options and the potential to benefit from the additional resources Evergreen provides its family of companies.

SAP SE’s decision to both extend CEO Christian Klein’s contract through 2028 and promote him to chairman of the Executive Board highlights the company’s trust in a leader with unparalleled longevity within the organization. Klein’s journey started in 1999 as a student, and since then, he has steadily progressed through vital roles in finance and operations.

In a strategic move aimed at creating a Canadian market presence, Aktion Associates, Inc., a prominent North American software reseller and IT infrastructure provider, has announced the acquisition of the Acumatica and legacy Sage practices from MNP, a leading Canadian professional services firm. This acquisition brings 500 new customers into Aktion’s portfolio, along with the MNP team members who support them, significantly bolstering Aktion’s service capabilities across eight Canadian provinces.
It’s possible this transaction marks an unwinding of the June 2019 purchase by MNP of VAR Mantralogix which at the time was said to bring over Mantrologix’s 20 person firm including owners Kerry and Jess Mann. The acquisition was described as allowing MNP to “expand(ing) its service offerings to include cloud and on-premise ERP.”
Aktion Associates has established a wholly owned Canadian entity, Aktion Associates ULC, to ensure a smooth transition and continuous service excellence for the newly acquired customers. This move is part of Aktion’s broader focus on servicing the Architectural Engineering & Construction, Distribution, and Manufacturing industries with industry-leading solutions.
