Bedlam Basketball 2.0 is upon us but that certainly doesn't prevent our conversation from diverting back to football.

There's a lot to be said about this round of Bedlam because it's huge for both schools.

There's also a lot to be said about the football program. - With Jalen Hurts on board the focus of the offense should now turn to rebuilding the line. - With new defensive coordinator Alex Grinch on board the focus of the defense should be about getting physical.

We've got about an hours worth of conversations here. Jump in and enjoy the ride!

Matt and Rich are back together again (Apologies for the poor audio) and we probably spent too much time talking the NFL Draft for a mid-January podcast? In addition, the Jalen Hurts sweepstakes is winding down. We'll tell you why Oklahoma is the obvious choice for him and also discuss whether 2019 will be a wasted year if he doesn't come.

Oklahoma center fielder Kyler Murray was drafted by the Oakland Athletics with the ninth overall pick in the MLB Draft on Monday night. Shortly after, he announced that he fully intends to be in Norman this fall to play football for the Sooners. Does putting his Major League Baseball career aside for football mean that Murray is going to be the starting quarterback for Oklahoma this fall? Rich and Matt have different opinions on that. We also break down the remainder of the offensive positions for Oklahoma this fall. Before we get to football we discuss the baseball and softball seasons coming to a close and, weâ??ve even got some NBA talk. Who has a better chance of staying where they are, Paul George or LeBron James?

Our latest podcast is up and weâ??re a little bit all over the place. As summer approaches, there are tons of story lines to follow. The Sooners are about to get started in the NCAA Baseball Tournament and the Womenâ??s College World Series. Football summer workouts are also about to get started and thatâ??s what we spent the most of our time on. The NBA Finals are also upon us and we kickoff the podcast with an impromptu conversation on the NBA over the decades. Have things really changed that much? Weâ??ll one of us thinks theyâ??re a little different but not much. Weâ??ll also give you the rundown for Oklahomaâ??s appearance in the Tallahassee Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament, as well as our predictions for the Championship Series in the Womenâ??s College World Series. However, the meat of this podcast is spent discussing Oklahomaâ??s quarterback battle between Kyler Murray and Austin Kendall. Weâ??ll give you our pros and cons for each candidate and tell you who we think will win and why.

Weâ??re back with the latest episode of the Sooner Nation Podcast and, in typical fashion, we found something to argue about. Wichita State guard transfer Austin Reaves puts Oklahomaâ??s guard numbers back to where they were during the 2017-18 season but with one of the absent players being Trae Young, what should the expectations be for Oklahoma Basketball next season? Itâ??s the time of the year where just about every message board and every website has their way too early Top 25 rankings but what about predicting the actual preseason Top 25. We discussed which Big 12 schools will be ranked and which should be ranked. We also share our overall Top 5 teams heading into the 2018 season. The NCAA Softball Tournament gets underway this weekend and we briefly run through the field for the Norman Regional.

Weâ??re back with another episode of the Sooner Nation Podcast. We started this episode rehashing bad memories of what went wrong in the Rose Bowlâ?¦all because a listener asked us to. From there we got into a pretty healthy debate on the possibility of trading Russell Westbrook. One of us thinks itâ??s a great idea and the other canâ??t think of a worse idea than getting rid of the face of the franchise. Feel free to weigh in on that one. Athlon came out with their quarterback rankings and weâ??ve got an issue with just about every one of them. Oklahoma Baseball has two weekends left in the regular season and Softball is heading to the Big 12 Tournament with the top seed.

Baker Mayfield was the #1 overall selection in last weekend's NFL Draft but Matt doesn't think he should play as a rookie. The question is, does his argument make sense and can he get Rich to buy in. Orlando Brown and Mark Andrews were also selected by the Baltimore Ravens and we've got some thoughts on that Dynamic Duo as well. We also can't ignore what's going on with the Oklahoma City Thunder either. The work train wreck comes to mind here and we think it may just be the perfect description. Paul George, Carmelo Anthony, and Billy Donovan could all be gone next season...but then again they could also all be back. We definitely get into that discussion. Finally, baseball and softball are winding down their regular season so we discuss what's going on with those respective teams as well.

Rich and Matt are back to talk Oklahoma sports. On tap for this episode is Oklahoma City's disastrous performance and Russell Westbrook's epic meltdown in Game 4. There's going to be some fallout from the Thunder's tanking in the playoffs so we visit those possibilities as well. Oklahoma Baseball is better than it has been but by how much? Will softball lose a game in conference play? How many first round draft picks will the Sooners have? We'll talk about that and tell you where we think a few guys are going.

View Details

As for the Sooners and Bulldogs, thereâ??s certainly a lot to talk about. Itâ??s power vs. speed, downhill running vs. the spread attack. Each defense must focus on taking an aspect of their opponentâ??s offense away and that may be one of the biggest advantages for Oklahoma.

As Oklahoma and Georgia move another week closer to playing one another, one of the topics of conversation is the strength of the SEC defenses. Baker Mayfield will serve a suspension for his actions against Kansas but does the punishment fit the crime? There's another side of the story here but it doesn't seem to be getting as much attention. The next round of College Football Playoff Rankings are set to come out and someone is going to have a Wisconsin problem. Could that be Oklahoma? If it is, we'll tell you why you shouldn't be bothered by it. Oklahoma State suffered a serious upset at the hands of Kansas State on Saturday. Who gets to be the scapegoat? It may be a good time for Mike Gundy to answer Tennessee's phone call.

Does it matter that the Sooners are #4 in the playoffs? Weâ??ve got varying opinions on it but the bottom line is, in order to win the national championship they have to go through the teams ranked ahead of them anyway. Was it personnel or schematics that led to Oklahomaâ??s defensive improvement last Saturday? Are the Sooners destined for a rematch with the Horned Frogs? We talk about what has to happen for that not to be the case. As an Oklahoma fan would you rather see the Sooners play Oklahoma State or TCU in the Big 12 Championship Game? Us too! Is this Rodney Andersonâ??s team now? How can it not be?

Bedlam is upon us! Our latest episode of the Sooner Nation Podcast has the complete (wellâ?¦as complete as we can get) Bedlam breakdown on both sides of the ball. Did Mike Stoops tip his hand a bit by switching to the four-man front against Texas Tech? No, itâ??s not the first time theyâ??ve run that front this season but perhaps he showed a few things that he otherwise would have liked to keep in secret until Saturday afternoon. We also got into a great debate (no one really knows why) over who the better defense is between Texas and TCU. Somehow, â??tall/athleticâ?? receivers were brought into the equation and that only served to escalate things. What are the intangibles that could lead to a Bedlam victory? We feel like there are more things in Oklahomaâ??s favor than the Pokes.

The Oklahoma Sooners exceeded expectations in their thumping of Ohio State at the Horseshoe on Saturday night. After the game he started a social media frenzy when he â??plantedâ?? the OU flag at center field. Oklahoma fans were ecstatic about the move, while Ohio State fans and national pundits thought the move was a bit over the top. On Monday Mayfield issued an apology, but should he have done so? Weâ??ll discuss that on this episode of the Sooner Nation Podcast. Weâ??ll also get into Oklahomaâ??s running back situation, and actually have a disagreement on the offensive player of the game.
