ABOUT CELLONELY: 'Cellonely' is the third track to Kypski’s EP 'Solidary Confinement', which is about being confined in a small space whilst working solidarily together on a musical piece. Meanwhile - the world is in a state of alarm. Every song on the EP has its own music video and was recorded live in one take using Kypski’s unique Syntablism setup. This enables him to communicate with the modular synthesizer by moving the turntable with one hand and repeated crossfader movement with the other.
ABOUT THE VIDEO: Here I take the Cello turntable synth playing a step further by incorporating vibrato and tremolo effects, creating a dark vibe reminiscent of a lonely classical Cello having to play alone because of the COVID restrictions. I improvise the song to complete the story of this EP.

ABOUT THE VIDEO: I wanted to go a darker route with this song. The turntable is performed more like a Cello; it gives it more of a melancholy feeling. I started talking to Joram van Loenen about how visuals could help the music come to life. Eventually, Joram came up with an idea, a storyboard for four videos. We agreed to have the whole EP be a visual trip through the complicated, anarchistic, the epidemic year 2020. You’ll notice visual references to COVID-19, the Black Lives Matter movement, activism, lockdown, freedom. But also references to objects taken from my personal life, like skateboards.

This enables him to communicate with the modular synthesizer by moving the turntable with one hand and repeated crossfader movement with the other.
ABOUT THE VIDEO: I started recording my EP 'Solidary Confinement' towards the end of 2019. I wanted to record an EP using only my Syntablism setup. I recorded every song in one performance take, and mixed and mastered it afterwards. I fired up my system, created a patch I liked and started recording. I also documented the process on my iPhone. The iPhone shots eventually ended up on the televisions in the music videos created by Joram van Loenen.

Hi All, hope you are all able to cope with this new crisis. I certainly had to adjust my whole life to it, which is not always easy. But, i think i found a way and now i am happy to present to you my first quarantine-produced syntablism track, recorded live at home in one take during the COVID-19 outbreak on March 27th 2020.

The 'Transmission Potential' is a term used in mathematical statistics and is defined as the expected number of people one case could infect over the whole course of asymptomatic infection, based on random contacts with susceptible individuals.

All platforms: fanlink.to/rudi Back when I was still studying drums, I had to practice ‘Rudimentsʼ on the snaredrum to improve my chops. Exercises in technique which had to be practiced to perfection.
I donʼt play the drums anymore, in part because as an artist I feel a constant need to reinvent myself. And as Iʼm doing this, iʼm creating new rudiments to practice.
In this way Rudiments are a crucial part of my creative cycle. This song is in honour of Rudiments.

Insekt numbers are decreasing rapidly. If this decrease continues at this alarming rate, it can have serious implications for all life on Earth. An ecological Armageddon? Scientists are still unsure why exactly this is happening. I find this phenomenon fascinating and also quite disturbing, and this led me to making ‘INSEKTS’.
The track ’INSEKTS’ is the first of its kind, being that it is the first music release ever that has been created using the ‘Syntablism’ technique. 'Syntablism' is the art of using a turntable to create and / or manipulate sound with a modular synthesizer. A blend of Modular Synthesis and Turntablism.
