We look at the 2nd stream in today's episode, the Sacramental/catholic stream. In this stream, the unity of the Body of Christ in space and time is help in high esteem, and Holy Communion is seen as culmination of the worship service as we encounter Jesus in His Body and Blood, and are nourished in our own body and soul by His presence and grace.
Today we talk about three streams, or movements, in the history of the Christian Church. The church has always bee better when these three streams have run together to form a single river! The three streams are often identified as the Evangelical, the Sacramental, and the Pentecostal. Today we touch on the Sacramental and Pentecostal, but we take a deeper "dive" into the 3rd stream of Evangelism.
The church, the expression of the Body of Jesus here on Earth, has several essential components of what it is meant to do and look like. In this episode we explore the essentials of worship, mission, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and the gifts of the Spirit.
