In just over a month, the most important national election in our nation's history will take place. Our choice is between an insane, authoritarian wannabe who is literally losing his mind more by the day, and a truly historic and competent candidate. For some reason, polls tell us that the race is close. We'll have to deal with that later, but one thing is clear, it's not too early to make your voting plans. Don't wait for the last minute where natural disasters or other factors might impede your ability to cast your vote. End this nightmare. But first, listen to some of the insanity from this past week.

Will Rogers famous quote "I am not a member of any organized political party. I am a Democrat" may finally have become obsolete. In a short 3 weeks, the Democrats, and more specifically the Harris campaign, has made all the right moves and have come from behind like a sprinter running down her opponents in the last 100 meters of a long race. As their convention approaches, how much better can it get for them, and concurrently, how much worse for Trump? Things are good.

After the NABJ convention debacle, a veteran GOP political pundit said “He did crap the bed. … The only question is whether he’s going to roll around in it or get up and change the sheets.” Well, he couldn't help himself during a Klan...er...MAGA rally in Atlanta, he did it again. This time, he continually attacked the popular Governor Brian Kemp in his home state, prompting one unnamed Republican advisor to say "he just lost Georgia". There is little debate that the man simply isn't well, as we discuss.

As the nation sorts through all of the conspiracy theories from the assassination attempt on Trump, and survives the absolute clown show that was the GOP convention, we again ask the question of when (not if) Joe Biden will step aside for a younger Democrat who will defeat Trump and hopefully put an end to the MAGA nightmare. Meanwhile, Ken makes the case that President Biden will someday merit inclusion onto Mount Rushmore...IF he steps aside now and allows someone else to finish the job.

President Biden is so far ignoring the borderline panic and political crisis that is building among Democrats and freedom-loving people across the globe. He stubbornly resists the calls for him to step down from the campaign and pass the baton to a younger generation. He says that he'll only step aside if the "good Lord Himself" tells him to. Our question is: "How do we know that this isn't the good Lord doing just that"? We have the speech already written that Biden should give next week.

No way around it. Last night was a fiasco. A disgusting and incompetent and lie-filled performance by Trump should have been destroyed by his debate opponent and the moderators. Instead, we are now faced with the fact that Biden is not up to the task and must be replaced immediately. CNN has also failed again in not addressing the avalanche of bullshit that Trump unleashed. Strap in. It's gonna be a wild ride.

Gotta love Louisiana. Thanks to their Governor signing into law there a mandate for all schools, public and private, to post the Ten Commandments in classrooms, Trump has had to deal with the issue. And Trump being Trump, went all in on the idea in front of the Faith and Freedom Conference. Now, let's take a look at those Ten Commandments and just how Trump measures up. The past week featured a convicted felon with dozens of still pending charges sweep into town, where they threw a mob-style welcome home party for him. This leads to lots of questions. Associating with known criminals is disqualifying for just about any job in the country, so why do we accept that these weak examples of leaders are worthy of our most precious tool...our vote? We discuss.

While we endure the period between verdict and sentence, and the GOP is out twisting itself into knots in defense of the convicted felon, Trump has some time on his hands to get back in front of microphones at rally's and interviews. And being Trump, he's making a fool of himself. We brought the receipts.

Between now and July 11th, Judge Juan Merchan will be deciding what to do with convicted felon Donald Trump. We will hear daily predictions of "no incarceration", "home confinement", "probation", "community service" and "prison time". One thing is certain, Merchan's decision will cause half of our political populace to lose their shit. MAGA is already floating around in the dark spaces of the internet that they are locked and loaded and waiting for Trump to give the signal. There is no disputing that America is at a place that we've not been since the 1860's. We really are two separate nations. Our differences appear to be irreconcilable. Therefore, instead of taking up arms and killing our fellow citizens over politics and whether we should convert from a Democratic Republic to an Authoritarian form of government, why not negotiate a civil separation and create the Red States of America and the Blue States of America? Each state can hold referendums on which side they'd like to align themselves with. We can negotiate all of the various aspects of future cooperation and revenue agreements among the two new countries, elect respective head's of state, representatives and such. Each state could enact it's own border policies, taxation policies and welfare policies. Interstate travel would be negotiated, civil liberties would have to be agreed to in advance, but Blue States would be responsible for their affairs, and likewise for the Red States. A joint defense pact would be negotiated as well. This way, we can avoid the obvious bloodshed that would arise if we do it the old fashioned way. We discuss this and much more.

This week, psychologist Dr John Gartner, formerly of Johns Hopkins University Medical School, sounded the alarm...on Donald Trump. Trump's slurring and inability to sometimes formulate complete sentences appears to be a sign of growing dementia and possible early stages of Alzheimer's. He asserts that Trump is becoming more dangerous by the day. "This is a tale of two brains. Biden's brain is aging. Trump's brain is dementing," he says. "He just becomes incomprehensible when he engages in free association word salad speech that is all over the place. Again, that's a sign of real brain damage, not being old, not being slow, not losing a step not being, but of severe cognitive deterioration." "What I don’t understand is why those clips aren’t replayed over and over in the mainstream media. Isn’t Trump babbling incoherently the most newsworthy part of his rally? You can be sure it would be if it were Biden."
Don't believe him? We provide ample evidence via those clips in this episode from just one of Donald Trump's speeches this past week. You decide.

As we see time and again MAGA elected officials and supporters make complete fools of themselves by proudly owning their hypocrisy when it comes to their dear leader, Trae Crowder aka Liberal Redneck, has boiled it down for us. "Trump is awesome, and Biden sucks." It's that simple. The mind of MAGA is no more complicated than that. Today's example is from the Committee hearings this week pertaining to Hunter Biden. Never mind that he was being held in contempt for ignoring a congressional subpoena...wait for it...while in the hearing personally in response to the subpoena. Nancy Grace was outraged that he attended, asking "WHO INVITED YOU?" You cannot make this stuff up. Ignoring the mistakes made in 2016, the American media is again approaching the 2024 election as if it's just another election cycle with the Democratic President facing a Republican challenger. They take horse race polls, report on the results, act as if these are normal times and continue to give Trump a platform to repeat and spread his lies. Legitimate journalists are no match for someone who steamrolls them in interviews and only offer up meek resistance using words like "disproven" or "debunked". When will someone sit forward when interviewing him and challenge him by calling him a "goddamned liar", or threatening to stop the interview and toss him from the studio if he continues to show such contempt to their audience by lying? And what do we hope to possibly gain from presidential debates when they are packed with a studio audience full of supporters and no fact checkers willing to call them out on their lies?

We have his latest outrage here and wonder why he doesn't just get his ass kicked like they used to do in the neighborhood. The GOP has become the un-democratic party in this country. They have completely given up on any semblance of being able to actually govern, and have shown no interest in doing so. Thanks to the excellent investigation and presentation by the January 6th Committee, it is undeniable what happened. One of the more glaring realities that has emerged is that Donald Trump put out an order to his followers, in mafia-style, to kill Mike Pence. Further, he issued directives from his command post to his fascist troops that day during their assault on the Capitol. After the coup failed, the next day, Trump could not bring himself to say that the election was over. The outtakes of his January 7th speech, if not further evidence of his intentions, are hilarious. A mass shooting is defined as a shooting that injured or killed four or more people, not including the shooter. We are on a pace to exceed 500 of these incidents in 2022. Every day in the U.S. 111 people are killed by gunfire. Another 210 are wounded each day. Contemplate those numbers. Shootings are the number one killer of children in this country. If these figures don't bring a sense of shame, then there is something seriously wrong with you. Yet, we hear "solutions" spanning the spectrum from the need for better doors, arming teachers, more prayer, abortion (we kid you not) and limiting fatherless homes. The Mississippi Governor defends the law there that prohibits pregnancies that result from incest and won't rule out a ban on contraception next. Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn is proposing a ban on contraception except for married couples. And a candidate in Arizona goes one step beyond and is promoting a ban on all contraception as his Catholic faith demands. Why would they stop there? Does anyone really think that certain states in this country wouldn't again ban gay or interracial marriage given the chance? We are heading in a very dangerous direction in this country. We also discuss the scalding that Steve Schmidt gave to Meghan McCain this weekend.

So the Supreme Court has fired a cannon shot across the bow of the nation with it's plans to do away with Roe v. Wade this Summer. Red states are already lining up to outlaw legal abortions with the promise in some of arrest and prosecution of doctors and even women who would get the procedure. But have they also lit the fuse for the Democrats to motivate their voters to do what they did in the 2018 midterms and again in 2020 with the huge turnout? We discuss the fact that this nation is being run currently by minority opinion and what it takes to turn that around. If not now, then it may be too late.

It is no longer debatable. The GOP is the party of stupid. Not only is being stupid not a disqualifier for Republicans, but it is worn as a badge of honor by their leaders, who know that there is literally nothing that they can do, no lie too brazen, no claim too unbelievable to insult their followers. What do the Democrats need to do in order to communicate more effectively just how dangerous the GOP is to our country at this crucial time? We can take the lead of two elected Democrats...both women. Elizabeth Warren and a little known (for now) state representative from Michigan, Mallory McMorrow, who became mad as Hell and isn't taking it any longer.

Between Trump again offering praise to dictators, dim bulb Marjorie Taylor Greene's homophobia, Mo Brooks trying to reinvent himself, Indiana Senator Mike Braun wanting to take us back to the pre-Civil War era, and the wife of a Supreme Court Justice being a full on QAnon disciple, it's enough to put anyone in a bad mood.
