To me, 2019 was...

a year that I rose from ashes& some personal sharing...

Before the start of 2019, I knew that it would become a challenge, even though I had no idea what is coming on its way.

This is the year that I was to say goodbye to all the familiars. My 4 years university degree, my boyfriend that supports all my biggest dreams, my international friends, the white little rental apartment, the crowded modern city of Hong Kong...

At the beginning of 2019, I made the decision to move back to Australia all by myself. Despite knowing how difficult it would be for me, I was clearly envisioned in where my heart belongs.

Everything felt stable until I finished my last exam for my bachelor's degree. The last day of school felt like any other. It was so familiar, that, you could almost forget that this is something you'll probably experience for the last time. A place that you always wanted to move on from, but would one day, look back at it, wishing you treasured this delicate seasonal flower that only blooms once in life,.

By June, I left Hong Kong, along with all the chaos that started to escalate beyond anyone's expectation. If you asked me during that time, how I felt about Hong Kong, I would probably say, it's a place that's just isn't suitable for me. But now looking back, it's a beautiful city, living in its own vibrant pulse, with colourful culture, and of course, amazing food, that you can almost never miss mentioning.

As I left this busy city, I went to the other extreme end, Adelaide. It probably was a reminder of how I should treasure the once so-called, modern city. When you change a view, you can see the beauty in anything. Just like a kaleidoscope.

Saying goodbye to the familiar didn't prepare me for the fear of the unknown. Unexpectedly, I fell into a period of depression, that it felt so painful as if the sunrise would be melt into the night of darkness.

Making changes in life and moving out of your comfort zone isn't a decision to be taken light of. So was mine. I experienced a period where my foundation started to crumble. The mindset that once supported me, is no longer serving my life.

This reminds me of Krishnamurti's sharing in 'total freedom' (which is a wonderful book that I would highly recommend anyone), he talked out, how we would need to shed, from all our beliefs, culture, nationality, gender, social status.... basically, everything that once gave us an identity. And after scraping off all those pieces of identity, we'll see our true self on the other end. Sometimes, who we truly are, would be someone totally different from who we thought we were.

What I was experiencing, was this shedding that Krishnamurti was talking about. Taking on identity is often easier than letting go. So once my illusion was crumbling, I felt the fear and pain from my ego.

During that period of time, I made the decision to move to Melbourne. Despite how lost I felt, I started to hear the difference between my fear voice which comes from threat, and my true voice which comes from love. And the decision on moving to Melbourne came from my true voice.

So there I was, packing my 11 boxes of life belongings, for the second time in this year, and went on a journey, to a city that I never lived in.

At this point, I am typing out this blog post, on a Saturday night after my long work, in a beautiful apartment that I longed for.

So now you might ask, how did everything turn out, was it hard?

It was hard, it still is hard, but it's definitely worth it.

And my true self on the other end, was, beyond my expectation, even though I'm still halfway through the journey of meeting her again.

I first met her during my meditation session with my counsellor. I saw a little girl, sitting on the floor all by her self, crying, with scars across her body. I walked towards her, giving her a hug and said "I am sorry that I ever let other people hurt you, but from now on, I promise you, I'll always love you, and I'll never hurt you. Whatever you want in life, I'll support you. No matter what obstacle comes, I'll be there, to fight through it, all you need to do is be yourself."

I saw the little girl standing up, and turned into a golden shining bird, that was flying across the sky happily. That was the first time, I saw my true self, and she's beautiful.

I see the strength and love inside the little girl, that chose love over hate no matter what challenges comes her way, no matter how people chose to hurt her, she always chooses to love back. And so that's what she did for me. Little Tienna stood up, and gave me a hug, saying,

"it's ok, I love you too."

This world is full of voices. Voices from all sorts of sources telling us; What to do, Who we should be, How we should feel, where we should go… As we slowly lost our own voice within the crowd, we start asking ourselves. What do we truly want? How can we keep in touch with our own voice, and not get lost in this big crowded world?Spend a few minutes every day and check-in with yourself. Simply by asking, “how am I feeling today?”When we are facing challenges in life, it is normally an instinct to ask others for guidance and suggestions. To us, others with more life experience or people who ‘seem’ wiser, always have the right answer to whatever we are struggling about. But do they really, have the right answer? Or are we just being lazy? Do we just want others to tell us what to do?What do you truly want? What feels more comfortable for you?Who else in the world would know more of the answer to this question than yourself? Who else can deeply feel the emotion in your body, see the world from your eyes, experience everything, just like how you did?You do.This is when we will realise, we always have the answer to all questions inside of us. As we get lost in this world and lose touch with ourselves, we tend to go through even harder times, wasting beautiful moments of our lives, just because others told us to do so. Some of the most regretful things for people when passing this life is saying "I wish I did…". You wish, you did. See, which part does it ever have to be about someone else?Listening to our instinct and our heart is one of the greatest treasures that we can ever have in our whole life. The guidance of light shines within us through the darkest of times. Even if it seems rainy, stormy like it’s never going to shine again, the sun always exists, it would never disappear even if the clouds cover it. Just like how our heart always shine within us, no matter how blind we’ve become. Even if you didn’t want to listen…So how can we learn to listen to our heart again?Have you ever had this feeling of you just had to do something, and you don’t know why? Did you ever felt this heartbeat for someone, but don’t know for what reason? This feeling as if you couldn’t explain, that couldn’t be processed with our logical ego-mind, is where our true intelligent heart shines. It’s this feeling you get of losing your heartbeat when you stare into nature with great awe, it’s so beautiful that you can’t find the right words to describe it. As if once you start to find a word you get loose in touch with it’s true nature. Once you start to define it, it’s no longer the way you see it in its original form. So you're left in this sense of awe and beauty. And this feeling stays inside of you forever. This moment becomes present forever. Because it carries inside of you, no matter where you go, this peacefulness would always be inside you. That’s how we start listening to our hearts. When you stop the need to explain, to understand, to examine, your true self leads you to this beautiful answer that stops by a simple feeling and yet fully expanded consciousness that’s beyond our logical mind. We can see this at every moment in our lives. How the earth never stops spinning, how the waves never stop moving, how the sun is forever shining above us, it’s beyond our control, yet it is part of us. When we learn to live as our true self, we learnt to live with true nature. We learn how to bring up this wave of a new consciousness, that eventually would wake up every long sleep mind because we just won’t take it anymore.Just stop thinking for a while, even just for a minute, while staring up to the sky. See how the clouds move, how the natural colours of the beautiful nature shine through. For that moment of emptiness, that’s when you’ll know how it feels, to connect with who you truly are.And that journey belongs to you, forever. Tiennaxxx

Recently I have started I morning routine where I pick a tarot card at the beginning of the day as a guide to learn and grow each day. Now you might be wondering, 'how can I actually learn from tarot cards?'

So here I'll give you a full sneak peek into my morning diary so you can see how I have grown and learned from the past month!

All information from the tarot is searched from the biddy tarot website

25.02.2019 (My first tarot diary)

QUEEN OF CUPS

Compassion, empathy, intuned with the source.
Look for beauty that activates emotional responses that feel good. Admire the beauty of nature. Open yourself to feeling the beauty of emotions and watch life's vibrancy as it reveals itself.

When denying feelings, brings imbalance.
This card reminds me to be grateful for my feelings, even when they cause pain. After all, feelings give life flavour.

FIVE OF PENTACLE REVERSED

The end of hard times. Improvement in a relationship, finance and luck. Being in a much more positive frame of mind, beginning to rebuild my feeling of security, stability and making progress.
Also indicates letting go of toxic relationship to move into the future.

Spiritual growth, trust in the universe, ready to help others.
27.02.2019

QUEEN OF CUPS

The universe is really reminding me to be aware and accept my feelings in a non-judgemental way.

Yesterday I also got constant messages on letting go of self expectations, not judge myself for my emotion but act towards awareness.

How the past karma doesn't define me if I live in the present moment.

I've been more aware of my social media response recently. Listening to Eckhard, reading books... I feel that when I truly allow myself to do what I want, I wouldn't feel that I am wasting time.

THE HIGH PRIESTESS REVERSED

It is time to start listening to your inner-self and access your intuition. Trust in yourself in making the right decision, have faith and belief in yourself. Don't let others run your life and decide what is best for you. Don't ignore the inner calling, listen to the wise offerings.
It is time to relax and let go of inner fear. It is time to face the problems and make decisions. Spare time to reflect on your actions, needs and feelings. Don't be impatient or frustrated if things are not happening yet.

Utilise my power and realise my true talent. I need to let my seeds blossom.

I see a lot of blaming, knowing what I want but still letting others control me in my dreams. Listen to my inner self and find peace at where it should be.

5 OF WANDS REVERSED

Answers to my dream: Proving that you are right about something to someone is a waste of energy and time. If you are right, you are right, it doesn't matter if people believe in you or not.

04.03.2019

6 OF CUPS REVERSED

A good omen if you have been going to counselling. Signalling you have worked through the past and ready for a new start. Or you may be looking at the past through tinted glass, if that's the case, you need to bring your focus back to the present moment and appreciate what you have today, In order to move forward, you need to remember holding onto the past will not change anything and you could end up wishing your life away. It can also signify that childhood issues may be preventing you from finding the love you deserve or affect your ability to open up to your partner if you are in a relationship.
Now it is time to discover new beliefs and try new things rather than clinging rigidly to the beliefs or traditions you learned in childhood. Keep what works for you but don't be afraid to branch out and incorporate new ideas that appeal to you.
05.03.2019 Tue Cloudy

Happy birthday!

THE EMPRESS

Draw all senses to experience pleasure and deep fulfilment. Access the creative part of yourself. In a period of growth, everything that you've wanted is coming to fruition. Offer gratitude for all you have created so you can continue to build on this energy and create even more abundance in your life. Allow yourself the time and the space to enter a different frame of mind and receive grounding spirit of nature into your heart and consciousness. When you do this, you can reach higher planes of consciousness. Allow the creative ideas and their manifestation to flow through you, acting with compassion and love. Be from a place of loving compassion and support.

Why did I develop this workbook?

During these years of self-healing and self-love, I have come to the understanding of how important it is to heal ourselves from the past, for us to be able to move and live in the present moment.

Before the age of 7, we were like a little sponge absorbing all things around us, which our families have a big impact on us. This explains why our childhood may influence us in ways that we didn't even know ourselves.

But this time, I wanted to dedicate the healing process to my dearest ones who have gone through a childhood which needs a process of healing in our adulthood. It is not solely dedicated to our childhood, it can also be able how to let go of the unpleasant memories of the past. And this is all of what this workbook is about.

What to work with this workbook:

  • My original youtube video
  • My new podcast "What is forgiveness? How to forgive? | My personal story" (I will update my iTunes podcast here once it is approved 💕)

What is included in the workbook:

  • Book recommendation
  • Healing quotations
  • A recommended healing song list
  • The emotional guidance scale
  • Detail step by step healing
  • A letter to yourself

I would love to hear from your thoughts, any recommendations you would like to give, and any topics you would like me to cover, I would be really happy to do so! ❤️

"In our lives, one way or another, we'll be given a lesson on forgiveness"

Forgiveness isn't an easy journey, but it is definitely worth it. From my past 5 years of experience, I have finally realised the true essence of forgiveness, and how to truly connect with the unconditional love.

Through creating my 'How to heal from your childhood and past' video, I realised the importance of understanding and forgiveness, and how this required me to create a separate podcast solely on this topic. I hope to bring you on this journey of self-discovery together as we find our soul's purpose.

Listen to the full podcast:

In this episode we will explore:
* 2:38 - What is the true essence of forgiveness? * 3:40 - Story sharing from 'Heal documentary' * 6:35 - My personal story on forgiveness, who and what did I have to forgive? * 7:35 - My EFT tapping experience * 8:55 - How it felt like when I couldn't forgive? * 9:11 - Results from my EFT tapping session * 10:20 - My dream experience of connecting with the unconditional love * 14:25 - The emotional guidance scale * 19:19 - How my life changed after forgiving * 22:43 - Positive affirmations just for you

Recently I have uploaded a video on “How to Find Your Life Purpose Now | Free Workbook + Book Recommendation” on my youtube channel @tiennawood. Here are two versions for you to download, English and Chinese.

I highly recommend you to check out the original video as it works alongside with the workbook as a combination to help you find your life purpose. I created them with deep love and hoping that it would give you a step by step guide in finding your inspirations in life. The steps which I have developed were experienced by me personally, it took a total of 1 to 2 year of time from letting go of false beliefs to realising my dream. The actual time length depends on yourself and what is yet to come in your life for better timing. I didn't have any guidance by then, that's why I am writing this workbook as I would write for my younger self who needed support at the time.

As mentioned in my letter to you in the workbook, if you feel that you need help or just simply want a chat, or even better if you have any thoughts of what videos you would be interested in me filming, feel free to pop me a message on my Instagram @tiennawood. ❤️

To download on your computer, simply press on the enlarge arrows on the right-hand corners of the following pdf, and you can download it in a separate window.

It’s been a while since I did my daily skincare routine! Since I updated most of my products, I thought to do another review! My previous skincare routine is more suitable for Spring, while this one is dedicated for Summer. All products are used based on my skin type (combination to dry) if you have an oily skin type? Don’t worry! I’ll let you know which products are suitable and what’s not. So, let’s talk about the new products!NEW PRODUCTS [Makeup remover oil]Aromatica: Natural CoconutRating: 5/5One sentence to describe: It’s one of the best remover oil I’ve tried! It’s a must buy!Comments:This makeup remover oil is suitable for all skin types. It removes all the makeup super easily, and melts right into the water (it turns milky when dissolving in water) when you’re washing off! Different from an actual coconut oil, this one not only has the natural coconut scent, it wouldn’t be as oily as the actual coconut oil. (Which you might have had the experience of removing your makeup with actual coconut oil, it can have a really oily finishing). The only downside of this makeup remover is it your eyes might feel blurry if the oil gets in (but it doesnt irritate). That’s why you’ll find me rubbing my eyes with the cotton pad because I’m trying to get rid of the oils. So, if you decide to use it, just be careful around the eye area![Makeup remover water]Bioderma: Make-up removingRating: 5/5One sentence to describe: So far it’s the best makeup remover water, definitely going to repurchase! Skincare tips: You might be wondering, didn’t you just removed your makeup? Yes, I did! And it is totally necessary to remove your makeup in two steps! Oil-based makeup remover is suitable for removing your base makeup, however, some of the makeup might get trapped in your pores or your eye makeup might still not be fully cleaned. So it’s a really important step to remove your makeup once again with a water-based remover! If this isn’t a usual step in your skincare routine, and you're finding yourself having pimples, breakouts, and whiteheads, this might be the reason!Comments:This bioderma makeup removing water is super mild, it doesn’t irritate the eye area at all, and it removes all makeup super well! It’s just too good to be described by words. Plus, it’s non-toxic! [Scrub]Belif: Mild effect facial scrubRating: 5/5One sentence to describe: You're looking for a replacement for a Japanese scrub? This Korean scrub does the same job! Comments:Before I went non-toxic, one of the best scrubs I liked is the Japanese scrubs. They are mostly very watery, mild, and scrubs out all the dead skin. (It’s kind of like a feeling of putting on the clear gel, and as you scrub, you start feeling particles coming out). This scrub works just the same! I personally think it’s more suitable for dry to combination skin, it might be a bit too mild for oily skin. [Skincare machine]Foreo Luna 2 (Sensitive type)
Rating: 5/5 One sentence to describe: Money well spent!Comments:It was quite a pain in the wallet! Hey don’t laugh, it was so expensive…but, money well spent. Before I got this machine, I was worried if using a facial washing machine every day would irritate the skin. Ends up it didn’t! It cleaned up my skin so well, even the makeup would go on smoothly the next day. It also comes with a massaging side to help your skin absorb the skincare! I only charged it once, and so far I've been using it for nearly a month. I would recommend getting this sensitive model, as it would work milder. If you have oily skin, you can consider getting the oily skin type ones![Candles]iKOU: Organic Candles
Rating: 5/5 (I wish I can give 100!) One sentence to describe: My favorite! My life dedicated candle so far. About:iKOU is an Australian brand made in the Blue Mountains (Where I lived before). It’s earth-friendly, cruelty-free, chemical free and helps the society! Comments:I feel in love when I started using their first candle. My first scent is ‘Italian orange cardamom & vanilla’, and I’m still in love with it till now. The scent burns out and fills the room naturally (it’s so mild, but then you can smell it once you appreciate it and take deep breaths). If I have to be picky, the led gets burnt and may make some black smoke sometimes when it’s burning (not a problem in the user experience), so I have to make sure to clean the led before burning it again. It doesn’t leave this burning scent afterward as it comes with a lid to cover it up! This candle burns up to 40 hours, normally one candle would last me 2 to 3 months. [Hair Towel]Aquis: Hair Towel
Rating: 5/5 (Again, would give 100 if I could!)One sentence to describe: How can I live without you?Comments:This hair towel has made my life so much easier! It dries up my hair super-fast and saves up the time to blow dry (Still, I would recommend blowing dry a little when it’s nearly dry to keep your hair in shape the next day). Normally once I come out of the shower, I would rap my wet hair immediately with this hair towel, and it soaks up the water immediately! This only thing I can pick about is it was easier to tie up when I have long hair, but after I got a haircut it can sometimes fall off if I didn’t tie it well as you can see in my video (still, not a bit problem). [Moisture Lotion]F Organics: Moisture Lotion & Moisture MilkRating: 4.8/5One sentence to describe: It’s great for Summer! But I personally prefer Aesop. Comments:As you know I have recently fallen in love with F Organics (check out my previous post on their sunscreen!), this moisture lotion along with its moisture milk is their no. 1 seller! I personally think this lotion is suitable for all skin types, it’s really mild, and the price is really affordable! I think this would be a good replacement for Aesop (if you’re looking for something cheaper with more volume). Only personally I think it’s too light for my dry skin, but it works perfectly fine for Summer. [Concentrated Oil]Belif: Rose gemma concentrated oil
Rating: 4.9/5One sentence to describe: I just love the packaging, the oil, the rose petals and the finishing!Comments:I’ve been wanting to get this oil for such a long time! The scent of this rose gemma oil is so soothing and light, and once you rub it out onto your face it wouldn’t feel as oily as you think. But personally I think this oil is more suitable for dry to combination skin, it may get too oily for oily skin types.[Eye cream]Shigeta Paris: Moisture eye cream
Rating: 5/5One sentence to describe: A great replacement of my previous Aesop eye serum and cream!About: You might realize this is a new brand that I’m using, so I’ll talk about it in more details. All of the ingredients used in their brands are the finest natural ingredients, selected from passionate farmers. It uses toxin free formulas (no PEGs, silicones, parabens or mineral oils). Certified organic formulas by Ecocert (93% natural minimum), and it’s a VEGAN brand which doesn’t test on animals. Comments:Though the price of this eye cream is just similar to Aesop, I think that this eye cream works better. The base is moisturizing and not too oily, suitable to be used in all season, and helps me to smooth out the wrinkles at my eye area. Though I haven’t found any improvements in reducing dark circles as it promotes (as I understand it’s really hard for skincare to do that unless you actually go for a skin treatment which uses machines). So far I’ve been happy with this eye cream. [Lip balm]Tha is: Coco & Mango lip care
Rating: 5/5 (Again, I would give 100!)One sentence to describe: It’s moisturizing, it smells good, it tastes good, it’s just perfect!Comments:I came across this Thai natural brand when I was traveling in Chiang Mai. It’s really sad that I couldn’t find this lip balm even on their official website, and there’s no information about this product. If I have a chance to open my own non-toxic store, this is definitely going to be on my list!
Still, I would like to talk about why I like this lip balm so much. It moisturizes the lips so well, after applying you would feel your lips being juicy for quite a while. And it has this natural sweet taste to it (hey don’t judge me for tasting my lips haha), the main ingredients are coco, mango, and the wax is derived from sunflower and shea butter. Also, it's paraben, alcohol, SLS and SLES free, with no chemicals and synthetic colors. It works so much better than my Aesop lip balm as I don’t really like the little particles in theirs. I’m just really sad that I didn’t get more…

After switching to completely natural and non-toxic makeup products, I’m finally here to share with you my everyday makeup routine! Surprisingly, natural makeup products work even better than I expected.

As for you to know whether my makeup suits you or not, I have combination skin with dry cheeks (which means, picking a good base makeup product can be a big challenge). My eyes are quite watery, so mascaras or eyeliners that works perfectly for anyone else would smudge all over the place for me (and yes, even if I did set powder before applying my eye makeup). Based on this, you can adjust your needs to these products. Some might not work as well for me, which can apply well to you![Sunscreen]BIOSOLIS: Sun Milk Spf 30Rating: 5/5Comment: Really worth it!About:This product is made from 100% natural ingredient and is also certified by Ecocert, Greenlige and COSMEBIO. Which means you can fully trust this product! The one I’m using here is suitable to apply daily and before base makeup. Pros:Two great things about this sunscreen that other products don’t have are, it smells nice and isnt oily. It comes with this natural citrus scent which I really loved. Also, as a product with a white creamy base, it blends naturally onto the skin, the feeling is as if it’s just a normal facial cream. Purchase link: https://www.lilou-organics.com/produc...[Primer]bareMinerals: Original foundation primer
Rating: 3/5Comment: It’s not up to the standard that I would recommend it. (Yes, I am picky)Pros: It really smooths out the pores and helps the base makeup to fit better. Especially around my cheek area!Cons:Weirdly enough, it has this chemical scent to it. Even though after research I have confirmed that it is a safe and non-toxic product. Purchase link: http://bareminerals.com.hk/product/pr...[Colour control]natureglace: Natural colour control 03
Rating: 5/5Comment: Great for dry skin!Pros: It has this watery texture into it and blends out perfectly well. Cons:The coverage isn’t enough. Purchase link:https://www.beyorgbeauty.com/catalog/...[Concealer]bareMinerals: Bareskin concealer (Medium shade)Rating: 4.5/5Comment: A great concealer that does its job, I’ll recommend it. Pros: The coverage is perfect, it wouldn’t be too dry for someone who has dry skin like me. It also works much better than other concealers I have tried!Cons:Ok, I have to confess that I chose the wrong shade for this concealer. And yes, I only realized this after 1 year of using this product (No wonder my face has this yellowy tint into it after I apply makeup). This is a great product, but if you have really fair skin like me, I would recommend the lightest shade, and that might still be a bit dark for someone like me. Also, it can get stuck in pores if applied too much. Sometimes we just get too harsh on ourselves, right? Haha.Purchase link:https://www.bareminerals.com/face-mak...[Foundation]Natureglace: Attract Foundation
Rating: 4/5Comment: Good for skin that isn’t too dry. Pros: The packaging saves up a lot of product! (and as I say this, I realize that products that have packaging which extends its usability, tends to be gone from the market after a few months. I guess the brands just realized it would be harder for them to make money) So yes, this one has been taken down, sadly. Cons:It can be a little dry.
[Setting powder]bareminerals: Mineral Veil (Original shade)
Rating: 4/5Comment: Not travel-friendly. Pros: The powder really goes a long way.Cons:It can a bit cakey for dry skin (Now I just sound like dry skin instead of combination skin, told you my skin is really picky). Also, even if it’s well placed in a backpack, the product might spill out, so be careful when you’re out traveling.Purchase link:http://bareminerals.com.hk/product/mi... [Blush]bareminerals: Ready blush (The Faux Pas shade)Rating: 5/5Comment: Something I will repurchase. Pros: I have been using this product since I started out using bareminerals, and yet, only it’s top surface is wiped out. The shade is also very natural as if I am really blushing (haha, good trick)Purchase link:https://www.bareminerals.com/ready%E2...[Brow pencil]Natureglace: Brow pencil (Shade 2)
Rating: 5/5Comment: Perfect brow pencil, I’ll 100% repurchase!Pros: The packaging’s quality is so great! You can feel the texture and the weight of it. You can also get a replaceable led for this brow pencil, which is so convenient and environmentally friendly! The thin led also makes it easier to apply thin brow hairs. I just love this product!Purchase link:https://www.beyorgbeauty.com/catalog/...

[Eyeshadow]bareminerals: Mineral Veil (Original shade)
Rating: 5/5Comment: Worth trying out! Pros: It works perfectly same as any other eyeshadow, so nothing much to say about how perfect it is. Only thing is, I should’ve chosen a matt pallet for my hooded eyes.Purchase link:https://www.bareminerals.com/offers/l...
[Mascara]Natureglace: Mascara (Shade 01)
Rating: 4/5Comment: I won’t repurchase it coz it smudges for me. Pros: This mascara definitely works out the volume, great for someone who wants fuller lashes. Cons:It smudges, no matter how well I set my base makeup. Well, it might only be a problem for me though, as mascaras that never smudges for other people or ranks perfectly well, would smudge for me. So, you can still consider it. Purchase link:https://www.beyorgbeauty.com/naturagl... [Eyeliner]MiMC: Eyeliner (Shade 02)
Rating: 5/5Comment: Doesn’t smudge for me, would repurchase! Pros: This brown eyeliner is really natural, and surprisingly, doesn’t smudge for me. The stays on well and can be easily removed. Cons:The brush packaging might be hard for beginners to use. Purchase link:http://www.mimc.co/en/mineral-liquid-...[Lipstick]bareminerals: Lipstick (Shade flash)
Rating: 5/5Comment: Yes yes yes! Pros: I love the shade, I love the texture, I love everything about it!Cons:Hmmm, does getting on your teeth count?Purchase link:https://www.bareminerals.com/lip-make...

Before the end of this Summer, I decided to try out this drunk blush look inspired by Hanna Verhees’s Magazine shot from ‘Hello! Fashion.’ You can check out my YouTube video for the entire tutorial!I tried to make this look work with all I had. So you might have noticed many of the base and eye products are familiar. You might be curious about why I changed some of the products, and whether or not they were better. So today I would like to share with you these new products!THE NEW PRODUCTS [Sunscreen]F organics: UV Protected MilkRating: 5/5Product in one sentence: Believe it or not, I traveled many miles just to get this sunscreen. About:I have discovered F organics recently for its popularity in Cosme Kitchen. They are known for using 99% natural ingredients (mostly based on plants of Damask Rose, Pomegranate Fruits, and Frankincense) as well as being manufactured at an organically certified factory.Comments:Along with their top-selling facial creams, this sunscreen was very popular. It came with two different choices: one contains colour correction (which was darker than my skin tone), the other is the original sunscreen. This particular sunscreen is suitable for the face and body, the texture is light and blends onto the skin very well (Not oily at all!!). I personally think this product can be suitable for any skin types. Comparison:I used to use BIOSOLIS Sun Milk and the switch of the product is only because I wanted to try more products to share with you. They are both really good sunscreens so it would depend on which texture you prefer. BIOSOLIS’s sunscreen comes in a creamy texture which can be a bit oily for some people (it was totally fine for me), while F Organic’s sunscreen is much lighter. I would recommend BIOSOLIS for outdoor activities (after seeing that I didn’t get tanned at all in Thailand), and F Organics is more suitable for everyday use. [Concealer]bareMinerals: Bareskin Concealer (Shade Light)Rating: 4.8/5Product in one sentence: Not bad to try out, but I’m still looking for better.Comparison:You might find it strange. ‘Didn’t you use the same concealer before?’ Hmmm, yes, but no. This proves how important it is to buy the right shade!!! I used to use the medium shade, and somehow find my face toned down every time I finish my makeup (you might have noticed in my everyday makeup routine video). Even with this light shade, it still had a yellow undertone (My skin is just too fair). Overall it works well when it comes to covering dark circles, but I would still like to try out other brands next time. [Foundation]MiMC: Liquidly Foundation 01Rating: 5/5 (I would give 100 if I could!!)Product in one sentence...or maybe two:Don’t think, don't worry, just buy it! IT’S TOO AMAZING! About:Originated from Japan, MiMc is another brand that uses natural and plant ingredients (with fruits and seeds) as its core ingredient. It’s a safe vegan product to use with no tests on animals. Comments:MiMC is a brand that I have fallen in love with recently, and so far none of its products have let me down. The price of its products are quite high (not really affordable for students), but somehow the results really outweigh all the price problems. The foundation was quite expensive (close to 500HKD), but the result was absolutely stunning! Though it doesn’t give full coverage, it’s perfect if you're going for a natural look. Application-wise it felt like dabbing a damp beauty blender on your skin. The foundation stayed on perfectly from day till night. The press packaging also makes the product clean to use. So far it’s the best natural foundation I’ve ever tried!

Comparison:For this long journey of searching for a better foundation, my previous one was Natureglace’s Attract Foundation. I personally think MiMC’s foundation wins the competition. Though Natureglace’s foundation comes with an adorable twisting packaging, it doesn’t wear all day, and the overall look isn’t as natural (you could clearly tell you have makeup on) as compared to MiMC. [Mascara]MiMC: Mascara (Shade 01)
Rating: 4.9/5 Product in one sentence:So far it does a good job! Comments:As always, MiMC hasn’t let me down with any of its products. The wand of this mascara works perfectly around the eye shape and gives a thicker look to the lashes. So far it didn’t smudge much, stays on well for the whole day, and is very easy to remove without harming the lashes (only with a rub of makeup remover oil and it comes right off).

Comparison:Comparing to my previous natureglacé mascara 01, MiMC definitely does a better job. The biggest problem I had with natureglacé was, it smudges badly, no matter how well I set and bake my under eyes (usually I become a 🐼 after wearing this mascara for a few hours). Even though I only used natureglacé’s mascara for a few weeks, I had to sadly look for a new replacement. I personally would recommend MiMC more if you are looking for a smudge proof mascara.

[Browpencil]bareMinerals: Frame & Define Brow Pencil
Rating: 3/5 Product in one sentence:Sorry…I just can’t…. Comments:I think this is so far the only product that I had problems with bareMinerals. Though the application is perfect (the led is thin and great for applying thin strokes), but, but, but, the led broke 4 times after purchasing it, and it was completely gone just after few weeks of purchase. Though it may be because of the thin led and the hot Summer heat, I didn’t have any of these problems when I was using the natureglacé brow pencil that was also thin. I personally can’t repurchase it or recommend it…

Comparison:After the led broke and fell out from the case, I went back to purchase the natureglacé brow pencil. Another great thing that made me love it is, not only does the packaging feel substantial, you can also buy new lead to "refill" the pencil (which comes in handy in saving money and the environment). The only thing that’s good about bareMineral’s brow pencil is, it has a similar result and is much cheaper than natureglacé. But for now, I would definitely stick to natureglacé (sometimes the price is worth it…).
[Lipstick]MiMC: Lipstick (Shade 19)
Rating: 5/5 (Again, would give 10 if I could!)
Product in one sentence:Gimme the whole collection!Comments:This is already my second lipstick from MiMC after trying the lighter shade (Shade 14, which I would recommend for a natural makeup look). This lipstick works well on dry lips too, it immediately moisturizes the lips after applying, and the colour is buildable. If I have to be picky, this lipstick doesn't last very long (it comes off after eating), and I would recommend removing it carefully (it make take double the make-up remover to remove the product that has seeped into the lip lines), but this wouldn’t be a big deal. If you are interested in the products that I've used previously, check out my everyday makeup product review! That's all for now, see you later! -bear hug-

Spending 15 minutes a week for home spa can be so self-rewarding. As for how much I love sharing my favorites with you, today’s review is on my current summer favorites on all kinds of masks!

LUSH: Sugar plum fairy
Rating: 4/5Comment: Fun to have a try. Pros:The flavor of this scrub is a great plus! I promise it would remind of your childhood candy at some point of a time. The fact that it is totally natural and edible just adds everything up. If LUSH sell candies in this flavor? I’m definitely buying one!Cons:Well, as expected, it’s a little troublesome to have sugary bits falling everywhere during the scrub.Purchase link: https://hk.lush.com/products/lip-scrubs-balms(Ps: Sadly, this exact lip scrub is no longer available for being a special Christmas edition. But you can still look for similar ones at their store!)BELIF: Blackhead remover oil balm nose shine boy
Rating: 4.5/5Comment: Worth buying.Pros:This is the first product that got me started in using Belif. The texture of this product is really great! The solid balm oil makes everything so much easier and melts easily just through rubbing fingers. It takes around 5 minutes to scrub around areas that are needed, and you’ll feel the texture of your blackheads rubbing out. This oil balm is really gentle as compared to other blackhead removers which irritate the skin. Cons:The only downside is that this oil balm might not remove deep blackheads which you’ll need help from a blackhead twister tool. Purchase link: http://global.belifcosmetic.com/product/detail.jsp?pid=B5000042BELIF: Peat miracle revital mask

Rating: 4/5 Comment: It’s worth a try if you’re looking for a good mud mask. However, I might not repurchase this product as I expect to look for a better one. Pros:What I like most about this cleansing mud mask is my face wouldn’t feel dry after using it. It dries up really fast (within 5 mins) as compared to other cleansing masks, which saves up a lot of time!Cons:This unavoidable problem is it’s a little inconvenient for me (as you know, it’s not surprising finding mud masks falling onto my clothes). Purchase link: http://global.belifcosmetic.com/product/detail.jsp?pid=B5000088BELIF: Chamomile true tincture mask
Rating: 4/5 Comment: It’s a nice dry flower mask to try out for dry to combination skin. I’ll consider repurchasing it. Pros:This texture of this masks definitely attracted me a lot. The scent of this masks is slightly sweet with a hint of dry flowers. It leaves my face feeling moisturized after using. Cons:The only downside of it is my laziness as you’ll have to wash to mask off after 15 minutes of use, but, that won’t hurt, right?Purchase link: http://belif.com.my/index.php/products/special/the-true-tincture-mask-chamomile/BELIF: First aid 360 eye care mask
Rating: 4/5 Comment: I might consider repurchasing if I can’t find a better one. Pros: The overall jelly texture feels really nice and soothing. A little bit of the product can go a long way. I have purchased this product for a few months and there’s still a lot of it left. Cons:I still haven’t seen much results, but it does its job.

Hair care has always been a big issue for me. Frizzy? Thinning? hair loss? You name it, I have it.It took me years after realizing how I should take care of my ‘princess hair’ problem, but before that, I would like to share my little regret path on how I treated my hair...Well, I did most things that I shouldn’t have done for my hair type. I bleached it 3 times in a year, along with dying and curling. Now that I have realized, the fewer things we do to our hair, the better chance it can grow back it how it used to be when we were still young. Now I mostly do nothing to my hair, growing back my natural hair color and trimming off all the dead hair have really helped to improve my hair quality! So here, is my sharing on how I care for my hair on a daily basis. I really hope that this sharing can help anyone of you who have similar hair problems like me![Step 1. Exfoliating]AVEDA: Exfoliating scalp brush

How to use:Dry brushing for cleansing.Comments:We often forget that, before caring for our hair, we need to care for our scalp. Exfoliating our scalp weekly works the same as exfoliating our face, only we do it differently. This brush mostly helps exfoliating the scalp and increase microcirculation. It’s really easy to use, wouldn’t tingle the hair which is a great plus. Purchase link: https://www.aveda.com/product/19384/48638/hair-care/scalp-care/pramasana-exfoliating-scalp-brush#/shade/brush[Step 2. Shampoo]Intelligent Nutrients: Harmonic invigorating shampooResults:I would say my hair loss problem really reduced after using this shampoo, because, I realize my hairline grew back! Yay! My hair wouldn’t be as oily as before, also my fizziness reduced a bit too. Comments: As I have mentioned in this video, the brand advertisers that it is so natural, that you can even eat the shampoo. For my personal experience (though I haven’t really tried to eat it), but through accident (I still didn’t eat it), the shampoo got into my eyes, and surprisingly it wasn’t irritating at all! All I felt was like putting minty eye drops, which felt really good. So, I think they do work up to what they claim. This is a great brand to try out if you are lost about which organic brands to choose from. It is organically certified, all ingredients are natural, suitable for children and pregnant moms too!Purchase link: http://www.mimingmart.com/product.xhtml?productId=2364&productIndexId=2357&attributeId= [Step 3. Scalp brush for hair wash]Muji: scalp care brushComments:It is really important for us to not scratch our scalp using our nails. This Muji scalp brush is really handy and convenient when it comes to washing your hair. Even if you don't have a Muji scalp brush around to purchase, I would highly recommend you to use your fingertips instead when you wash your hair.Purchase link: https://www.muji.com.hk/en/product/4549738970743[Step 3. Conditioner]Intelligent Nutrients: PurePlenty Density Building ConditionerResults:My damaged hair turned into silk!!!Comments:OMG, this is the best best best conditioner I have ever tried (I wish I could just shout out this recommendation!). THIS IS A MUST HAVE. You’ll see the immediate results once you put the conditioner on, no matter how damaged your hair is, it would immediately turn into silk! This conditioner definitely works better than any hair masks I have ever tried, now it just saves up all my time to do extra care for my hair at the salon. Purchase link: http://www.mimingmart.com/product.xhtml?productId=21001&productIndexId=2357&attributeId=

[Step 4. Serum]Intelligent Nutrients: Scalp and Strand SerumHow to use: Apply 3 to 4 drops on your roots after on towel dried or blow dried hair.
Results:This serum works great for anyone like me who wants fuller, stronger and healthier looking hair! The only downside is this serum can be quite oily since it's not really recommended to be washed off after applying. It's already publicly known that nail polish may probably be the big toxic concern. The can be a huge list linked with chemicals in nail polish that scares people off. Skin allergy, affect the central nervous system, cause reproductive harm, disrupt hormones…Not only health issue is a big problem, some people including myself might realize that our nails are fading 'yellow' after just a few times of using nail products. This may all sound scary, but we don't need to cut off nail beauty as long as we use the right product! So now, let's talk about how I do my nails, that are toxic free![Step 1. Nail polish remover]FRESH THERAPIES: NATURAL NAIL POLISH REMOVER WIPEAbout:This is a great natural nail polish remover that's worth to invest in. The natural oil won't damage your nails and will help them remain in much more health. One wipe can clean off all your nails. Also, it is known for its fragment smell of fresh lime. Comments:This wipe is definitely easy to use, it wipes off all the remaining nail polish in seconds without damaging the nails. Normally nail polish removers are known for strong toxic chemical smells, but you totally wouldn't have to worry about having the chemical scent when using this wipe. The natural oil with a citrus scent to it is definitely an add up point for me! One only downside of this wipe is the nails may feel a bit sticky after wiping. I would recommend to clean your nails or wash your hands before applying nail polish as the remaining product may make it difficult to apply. Purchase link: http://www.beyorgbeauty.com/productDe...[Step 2. Cuticle cleaner]BEAUTY WORLD CRYSTAL SHINER: CUTICLE PUSHER
About:Wet your fingers in warm water for few minutes, then push and clean the dead skin around the cuticle area. Comments: This cuticle cleaner is definitely easy to use as compared to metal cuticle pushers. Still, I would recommend using this tool carefully as you may hurt your cuticle area if pushing too hard. Purchase link: https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/n...[Step 3. File]BEAUTY WORLD CRYSTAL SHINER: NAIL FILE
Comments:For me, it wouldn't be a must to use this exact nail file as it works the same as other nail files. The only good thing about this file is that it is really narrow, it would be easier for anyone who prefers to work around nail edges or have very thin nails. Tips:I would prefer using nail files instead trimming when it comes to getting the desired shape. For anyone who likes a rounded shape, I would recommend to start with the edges of your nails and work slowly around the top. Facing the tip towards yourself would make it easier so as not to file too much on one side than the other. (For detailed process please refer to the video!)Purchase link: https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/n...[Step 4. Nail shiner]BEAUTY WORLD CRYSTAL SHINER: CRYSTAL SHINERComments:This product really works up to its name! If I can only choose one product out of this collection, this would be my No. 1 choice. For someone with really thin nails like me, this product didn't leave me any concerns with thinning my nail surface. This product can defiantly replace clear nail polish if you want to save time!Purchase link: https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/n...[Step 5. Cuticle cutter]Tips:This is an additional step if you have any dead skin around your nails. Any cuticle cutter would do as they work just the same.[Step 6. Base coat]JIN SOON: POWER COAT STRENGTHENING BASEAbout:JINsoon's nail polish is known for its 7-free formulate with no harsh chemicals (Formaldehyde, DBP, Camphor, Parabens, Toluene, Formaldehyde resin and Xylene). It is a vegan product that's not tested on chemicals. This base coat includes vitamin B and diamond particles for durability. Comment:One good thing about this nail polish is it dries really fast, which saves up a lot of time waiting. Though it still has a normal nail polish scent, the 'chemical scent' vanishes after dry up with a sweet floral scent remained. The only downside of this product is that I don't feel that it works up to its durability as the nail polish will start peeling off after 3 days of applying. However, even if the nail polish peels of it wouldn't harm my nails as the surface of my nails are being well protected. Purchase link: http://www.beyorgbeauty.com/productDe...[Step 6. Top coat]JIN SOON: TOP GLOSSAbout:JINSOON's top gloss is also known to be 7-free and suitable for vegans. It helps extend the life of your polish, ensures chip free with a high-gloss manicure. Comment:This is really an additional step unless you have applied any colored nail polish. For me, the results are the same as the base coat, only that it shines up your nails a bit. Before sharing my night routine, I would like to talk about my personal experience with sleep. For the earliest memory which I could remember, sleeping has always been a big issue for me. It takes hours for me to fall asleep, stay asleep and I would say it’s a miracle if I wake up not feeling tired. Sonner enough, I start to realize how important sleep is. It reflects upon our emotional status, things that make us struggle when we are awake, may come to us during sleep. If you also have serious sleeping problems like me before, I highly recommend you to also seek for professional help as our sleeping patterns may reflect much more upon our emotional and health status. So now, let’s talk about the special recipe I have, on how to get better sleep. [Step 1. Meditation]To keep your mind emptyCALM APP
Meditation is definitely a super effective tool when it comes to falling asleep faster. To me, it works much better than sleeping pills! It’s not necessary to use an app for this, you can also do this by controlling your breathing patterns, listening to calm music, and trying out yoga before you sleep. All to make the result in keeping your mind empty. App Results:I would say that this is a great app to invest in if you have daily sleeping problems. Apart from the sleeping stories, the meditation on achieving deeper sleep has helped me in falling asleep within 10 minutes (which is totally impossible for me before!). The only downside of this is that the annual subscription is quite expensive, but worth it if you need to use it on a daily basis. [Step 2. Sleeping pill]PERRICONE MD: SLEEP BOOSTERHow to use:Take one pill shortly before sleep. Results:I tend to fall asleep slightly faster when taking this sleeping booster, and my sleep quality improves as well. It is my go-to step before trying out meditation, now I personally think that meditation works much better than taking sleeping pills. Comments: The great thing about this pill is that it’s natural. Comparing to other sleeping pills, there is no need to worry about the side effects that sleeping pills can give, and you won’t get addicted to relying on it for sleeping. [Step 3. Eyemask]Iluminage: anti-aging silk eye mask

Results:This silk eye masks’ major selling point is to reduce your eye wrinkles naturally. To me, the texture feels much better than using normal cotton eye masks. I don’t know if it’s just my feeling, but I do realize that my under eye wrinkles have reduced a bit after using this eye mask. Comments:I would recommend this eyemask if cotton eyemasks don’t work as well for you. The only downside of this mask is that the light still shines through the bottom part of the eye mask. This can be a little struggle for someone super sensitive to light like me, but not much of a big deal. [Step 4. Hair mask]SILK HAIR CAP
How to use: Place your hair in the hair cap, but I would recommend to leave it above your bangs if you have any. (You’ll know why after waking up in the morning...)Results:Reduces hair fizziness and improves hair quality Comments:
I personally think silk hair masks works great for someone who have frizzy hair like me, and difficult to comb through in the morning. It helped keeping my hair style in shape during the night, so I won’t take much time in styling it when I’m rushing to school in the morning. Any silk hair cap brands can do, which you can find in Hong Kong’s log-on stores or Japan’s drug stores.

This is my self-purchased skincare routine for springtime with real reviews. All products used are light in texture while being moisturizing. Suitable for all skin types. [Step 1. Facial wash]The most important stepBELIF: TRUE TINCTURE CLEANING STICKHow to use:Wet your palm and gently apply the product, then rub until it creates foamResults:Creates a soft texture that’s good for all skin types, especially dryer skin. Keeps my skin moisturized and wouldn’t feel dry at all after using. Comments: A natural product that I would definitely repurchase. Comes with a good price while having to outweigh quality. It may seem different from a liquid facial wash, but the unique packaging definitely saves up a lot of product. The dry flowers crushed in is also an add up point as it gently melts into the foam when you rub it onto your skin.

[Step 2. Toner]AESOP: PARSLEY SEED ANTI-OXIDANT FACIAL TONERHow to use:Gently drip the product on a thin textured cotton pad and apply to face. Results:Refreshing texture with a natural plant scent.Comments: Definitely, my go-to recommendation for natural brands that would never go wrong. I enjoyed this toner so much that I’ve been using this toner only after going non-toxic and still haven’t thought of replacing. Though it doesn’t give glamorous results, it does its job just fine. [Step 3. Serum]BAREMINERALS: SKINLONGEVITY VITAL POWER INFUSION
How to use: Rub and dance if you likeResults:Soft and thin texture, good for all skin types. Moisturising while not being sticky at all, which is a great add-on point for me!Comments:This is a newly purchased product which I’ve only used for a week, though there’s not enough time to see significant results as usually it comes after using a while bottle for me. Still, I really like the texture of the product and feeling of my skin taking in the moisture. [Step 4. Eye serum]AESOP: PARSLEY SEED ANTI-OXIDANT EYE SERUMHow to use: Warm up the product with your ring finger and gently pad it around your eye area. Results:Reduces wrinkles and moisturizes the eye area, wouldn’t irritate the eye area even if the product gets in.Comments:Also, a good product that I have been using for a few months from my go-to brand. It mainly focuses on moisturizing but not reducing dark circles. [Step 5. Cream]BAREMINERALS: TRUE OASIS OIL-FREE REPLENISHING GEL CREAMHow to use: Warm up the product before you rub on.Results:Gel light texture and moisturizing suitable for all skin types, with a fresh lemongrass scent to me.Comments:
Another newly purchased product, originally mainly targeted for combination to oily skin, however, it still worked perfectly for me, loved the texture.

Real Reviews #1 - Cosme No. 01
