In the final episode. I used a wordplay about falling. Then, I used a quote by Aristotle about the energy of the mind.

In this week’s ROPE,  I talked about different iterations of Batman. I talked about learning about the ignominious or disgraceful definitions. I talked about the 1989 Batman movie with the Alexander Knox character. I then talked about some of the disability shame around needing to be fixed and healed.

I later talked about the importance of falling from the Batman Begins movie. I also use the “defining” clip from the movie. I ended the episode with one last literary twist, B@tman or Being the @ Man .

I used a wordplay about agency. Then, I used a quote by Aristotle about the value of life.

In this week’s ROPE,  I talked about my own social insecurity. Many times, I chose not to participate because it was the safer choice. I worried about not only my needs, but also the needs of others around me. I sometimes felt a responsibility for everyone’s else’s safety. I ended the episode talking about the Social Security Administration and disability fraud because my disability and my resume didn’t make sense to some people.

I used a wordplay about quality control and quality comfort. Then, I used a quote by Aristotle about quality.

In this week’s ROPE,  I talked about how my dad spent 30 years in quality control. He dealt with the FDA and consent decrees. Consent Decrees were negotiated agreements with the FDA to make improvements and maintain quality. My dad had the idea that I needed to be fixed, like in the medical model of disability. My crutches were my management tools. They were part of my identity. My dad grew up with eyeglasses as part of his identity. My dad struggled with crutches when he had a short-term foot injury.

I used a wordplay about nonsense. Then, I used a quote by Albert Einstein about being understanding. Next, I talked about attribution theory.

In this week’s ROPE,  I talked about attribution errors and my disability. I often got social resistance from people without disabilities. I could not fight back, I could not leave the situation. Therefore, I often froze because I could not overcome the situation. My dad, sometimes, yelled at me to relax. The muscle anxiety later became numbness and dumbness.

I used a wordplay about the devil in the details. Then, I used a quote by Josh Blue about him choosing to laugh or cry. Next, I talked about using a crutch not as a crutch, but as a tool to navigate the world. A lesser-known definition of a crutch is to sustain. In my case, I became armed. But I also talked about the irony of the crooked creativity of the 1966 Batman TV show.

After discovering the word ignominious during many caped crusader criminal crises, I also learned about the disability disgrace or shame. Shows from the 1970s had mission statements. And I took those mission statements seriously. From Bionic Man to the Incredible Hulk. From Facts of Life to the A-Team and Knight Rider. I sometimes felt like a young loner who should not exist. I ended the episode by talking about the importance of engines and engineers to help people with disabilities believe in their dignity of risk, rites of passage, DRILLS,  and the empowerment of believing in lived experiences.
