The Exiled Father: Recent Episodes

Jonathan Pillet

I am a father, in my opinion, the most important aspect of being a man. Like many men however, after my divorce, my role as a father was slowly eroded to the point that my children hardly know me. This is a podcast for my children, so they will come to understand who I am, to give me an opportunity to share some wisdom with them, and to let them know that they are important to me. I am far from a perfect person, I have many flaws. Despite this, I feel it’s important for my children to know that I love them. Perhaps this podcast helps them. Perhaps it helps you.

Choice is: who you are, what you say and do, controlling your reactions in situations, how you allow others to treat you. Choice is everything in the game of life. A little introduction to the podcast and the inspiration for why I wanted to share my experience publicly. I know I am not alone in my experience and there are many thousands, if not millions of fathers that have experienced a similar situation to what I face. And many children that have grown up in an environment similar to what my children face. Sharing stories helps us to understand we are not alone. The power of community allows us to overcome adversity far better than any one person on their own. For me, this is a way for me to reach out to my children. Perhaps one day they will listen to these short podcasts, learn something, and come back into my life. Enjoy.🙏
