As the world prepares for Global Communion Sunday. Anissa a member of Church of Acts in Indianapolis joins Mary to discuss her experience with overcoming illness. Mary E., welcomes singer/songwriter Kimberley Rew to ArtSees Diner Radio for a little chat about then and now. We will be spinning 2 of his new songs recorded with Shagrat Records.
Kimberley Rew first came to notice in the late 1970s as a member of Robyn Hitchcock's Soft Boys.
In 1981 Rew made a solo single backed by American band the dBs before helping to form Katrina and the Waves, and writing 1985's evergreen Walking on Sunshine (produced by Pat Collier and Scott Litt). The Bangles also recorded Rew's Going Down to Liverpool. Katrina and the Waves toured opening for the Kinks, the Beach Boys, and Squeeze among many others. Rew concurrently guested with Ashley Hutchings, Robyn Hitchcock, Julian Dawson and Boo Hewerdine.
In 1997 Katrina and the Waves won the Eurovision Song Contest for the UK with the Rew composition Love Shine a Light.
In 1999 Rew rejoined Robyn Hitchcock for the Jewels for Sophia album and tours. In 2001 the Soft Boys reconvened to rerelease their Underwater Moonlight album (now hailed as a gem from the vaults), and to tour and record.
Rew has released four solo albums in the present century.
"According to a former employee of EMI "Walking on Sunshine was the crown jewel in EMI's catalog," and that it was one of EMI's biggest earners from advertisers."

Paul Smith and Steve Champagne have been long time friends. Paul comes to us from Bay View Wisconsin. Steve currently resides in Michigan City Indiana. Both grew up in Menomonee Falls Wisconsin.
William Rottman is a Canadian born singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. His sound blends the energy of the late-60s with a contemporary rock edge. William's new 11-track disc entitled After So Long is finally here and his songs are ready to lick your eardrums and send shivers down your spine. William's vocal style has been compared to Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Pat Monahan (Train), Sting and James Taylor. William was exposed to music from a young age. He was a child prodigy and was featured in a local Canadian newspaper playing drums at the age of 7. At 12 he began teaching himself guitar and bass. As a guitarist and background vocalist for Maverick/Custard recording artist, Ben Jelen, William appeared on the "CBS Late, Late Show" and the NBC hit TV drama series "Las Vegas," amongst others. He has been the voice of Coke, Pantene, Verizon, and Campbell's Soup, and has sung alongside Lenny Kravitz. Most recently William toured the US with Australian platinum recording artist, Shannon Noll (Sony BMG).
Mary E. and Steve Champagne first met William at The Depot in Cold Spring NY, in 2008 and since then have remained connected through the music. William has performed in Michigan City Indiana for the "Strides" event where he generously donated his time and talent for a great cause.

Tonight's broadcast celebrates life, love, friendship and a realization that we never know how our prayer touches other people. As George Michael states it in his song White Light "Was it music that saved me, or the way that you prayed for me!" 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Tonight we pray for one another and in this broadcast I dedicate it to my sister Maureen Rapier who has been battling cancer for many years. As it has metasticized to other areas of her body, I ask you to pray for her. It is also dedicated to my other sister Marissa Rapier, who as recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. I also remember my mother who lost her battle against ovarian cancer on this very day, 33 years ago. I find hope in the belief that we will find a cure for cancer in our lifetime. I believe that it is the prayer and faith in a greater power and love that we are able to continue to rejoice in our families and friends through the darkest of time. Hope ensures that there is a flame that continues to light the way!

From there two people on life's journey found each other in an airport terminal in New York City. From that meeting the song "Cold Spring" was born. Since that meeting in August of 2007, this duo has been together daily making music, and seemingly fulfilling a life time full of dreams. Steve and Mary are known for their positive music, energy and harmonic blends that only 2 people on a shared journey can achieve.
