"Robot" is a term for traffic lights generally used in South Africa.
The project was born out of curiosity and in no way aims to pass judgement or exploit the subjects.
I purely aimed to give the listener some insight by letting the subject tell his story. Although any captured film, audio or produced piece of media will somehow be influenced by the way in which it was directed as well as the way the conversation was guided I have tried my best to limit interfering or altering the story or mood.
Full consent was given by all people interviewed and they are aware of the output of the Instagram videos and podcasts.
Absolutely no money or any compensation were offered in exchange for the interviews. That said, we ended up giving each subject a small amount of cash for their time and effort seeing that we kept them from their locations where they could potentially be receiving money.
