Studies show that monetary incentives do not always improve performance, and can frequently decrease results. Incentives are often due to the beliefs that people hold, sometimes even putting their own lives at risk for them. Clearly, this outweighs the motivation of a monetary reward. Doing what people believe is “good” is a powerful reinforcer.

Record date: May 13th, 2011

The Venus Project proposes an alternative vision of what the future can be if we apply what we already know in order to achieve a sustainable new world civilization. It calls for a straightforward redesign of our culture in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable but as totally unacceptable. Anything less will result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in today's world.

S.O.U.L. Documentary gives a more personal insight into the origins and motivations of the man who could be described as the “Leonardo da Vinci of the 20th century”. In an intimate face-to-face, Jacque Fresco shares with S.O.U.L. founder Evan Gary Hirsch how he devoted his entire life to comprehensively designing a robust, workable tomorrow for our human family and planet. What could not have been known at the time was that this was to be Jacque’s final interview. In this half hour documentary, Jacque, who had just turned 101 years old(!), lets the audience see through his brilliant mind and into his compassionate heart, which was a fountain of overflowing love and respect for all living things and the precious Earth we call home.

After watching the full documentary, Jacque will leave you feeling as if you had just sat with your kind, loving grandfather who shared with you his life’s work. As he hands over the keys to solving society’s problems just before he passes, his hope is clearly that you will see his plans through to fruition for the benefit of all. As this passionate man obviously devoted his life to designing something much more nurturing, harmonious, and sustainable for humanity, it seems the least we can do for him, his legacy, and our future, is to see his designs move from conceptualization to realization.

Embedding & sharing is highly encouraged.

We should not blame anybody on this planet for their behavior. Factors in our environment mainly determine our behavior. Countless influences throughout our lives build our character. From the time our biological senses start to develop, different environmental forces impact us and alter our perceptions of the world, which in turn shapes our behavior. Early childhood development has a substantial impact on behavioral habits in adults. The culture we currently live in reinforces the patterns that we acquired while growing up, and many undesirable behaviors are just products of prolonged exposure to detrimental environments. We can alter adverse reactions and responses by reconstructing our environment.

Thinking in Systems for Global Well-Being: A Thought on the COVID19 Pandemic by Theofilos Chaldezos

A common enemy is not only at our door, but could infiltrate in through our loved ones. All that people can do now is to take desperate preventive measures to mitigate the threat of a violent intruder possibly devastating their lives.

We are observing governments around the world reacting erratically to the threat, because the system we currently live in is far too overconfident and underprepared for events such as these.

A healthcare system that focuses on supporting the sick, instead of being integrated and interacting with every part of the system we live in (keeping healthy people healthy), will only be able to have a weak reactive stance rather than a vigorous preventive one.

Historically speaking we have improved through the years in awareness and vaccines, but ... still not good enough.... Why?

Canary in the Mine: A Thought on the Economic Crisis by Theofilos Chaldezos

We are justifiably frightened of what tomorrow may bring. Many of us wake up wondering how life will be even in just a few months, once again living in uncertainty. With highly inadequate practices, governments are making decisions to prematurely relax their lockdowns in a desperate attempt to soften the blow to their economies, using their populations as a kind of “canary in the mine.”

Others, like the European Union, are giving “aid” to their member states in the form of loans, further increasing their debt, which the public will have to bear in possible future unemployment, bankruptcy, pay and pension pay cuts, and other malevolent consequences in an attempt to further drive the neoliberal agenda.

History may judge them harshly, but in the present, real people will suffer. Continue reading here: https://www.thevenusproject.com/canar...

Mitigate pandemics through a unified system: A Final Thought by Theofilos Chaldezos

Isn't it disappointing that despite pandemics occurring in the past, governments seem to have learned very little. Events that can be trapped early appear to be left to chance. What is happening?

Well, what we are seeing is the collateral damage caused by the pursuit of misplaced happiness.

Produced by S.O.U.L. Documentary, this is a film on the life’s work of late, legendary visionary Jacque Fresco, founder of The Venus Project. The movie features never before seen archival footage and the inspirational last interview of his life.

In an intimate face-to-face, Jacque Fresco shares with S.O.U.L. founder Evan Gary Hirsch how he devoted his entire life to comprehensively designing a robust, workable tomorrow for our human family and planet. In this half-hour documentary, Jacque, who had just turned 101 years old, gives us a glimmer of hope as he describes the conditions needed for people to peacefully co-exist in a world without exploitation and abuse of one another. He lays out a bold new social design in which war and territorial disputes are things of the past, and where the true meaning of love and spirituality are manifested by translating them into a working reality. We also hear from Roxanne Meadows, co-founder of The Venus Project, and Jacque's partner for over four decades, who is now at the helm of The Venus Project.

After watching this film, you may just feel you had sat with an extremely wise elder who, although facing the ravishes of old age, was determined to share what he feels is necessary for humanity to grow up in order for us to survive and thrive as a species. You will glimpse a portion of the work he accomplished in his lifetime, which gives us an alternative path for society to take, solving many of our monumental problems. He also spent his entire life as a teacher so others could understand the validity of this new social direction which benefits all of humanity. It is our hope that you will come away with this understanding and look into and work with The Venus Project as well. As this passionate man obviously devoted his life to designing something much more nurturing, harmonious, and sustainable for our human family, it seems the least we can do for him, his legacy, and our future, is to see his designs move from conceptualization to realization.

An Utopia or Future Technologies that already exists and that can change our lives? Let's try to figure out in this video!

If you have not heard of the Venus Project yet, it is a model of a peaceful, sustainable civilization of the future in which technology and science are used to reconstruct our social system to create a high standard of living for everyone. The key points of the program of the project are resource-based economy, general automation, and the introduction of high technologies into all spheres to improve each person's life and the scientific approach to solving each particular problem. So what is wrong with that?

War is the supreme failure of bridging the differences between nations, according to the creator of a social model called "the Venus Project"  American futurist and inventor Jacque Fresco.

Futurist and Legendary Creator Jacque Fresco travels from Florida to London to discuss The Venus Project, his candid conversation with Albert Einstein as a young boy, what happened with Peter Joseph and The Zeitgeist Movement, how the Great Depression developed his mindset, and what he would do if elected President of the United States.

View Details

The opportunity to sit down with Peter Joseph is a unique chance to capture a moment in time with one of the great thinkers of our generation. His first breakthrough film "Zeitgeist: The Movie" in 2007 was an unexpected success and he founded The Zeitgeist Movement on the back of his 2nd film "Zeitgeist: Addendum." Peter proceeded to release two additional films and produced a satirical Web series called Culture in Decline.

Engineering a leaderless movement is a conundrum itself, which is why Peter rarely does interviews and instead prefers to let the movement ideals speak for themselves. In order to understand all of the tenets of The Zeitgeist Movement I recommend reading the TZM Defined Book available here http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/o....

What's next for Peter? He has been busy working on a live-action genre with his InterReflections Trilogy expected in the next few years. After producing works of documentary and satire, we can expect a new angle. As Peter says, "The beauty of art is that it sneaks behind your ego."

I still remember the day in August 2012 when Futurist Jacque Fresco and his partner Roxanne Meadows of the Venus Project came to our studios for London Real episode #47. After accepting my offer to pick them up I headed off to Waterloo station with camera crew in tow to record the arrival of one of our century's great thinkers.

After nearly getting arrested by the transit authority for recording video in a public station, I was soon struck by the resilience of Jacque Fresco: this man of 96 years demonstrated a quick wit and a mind sharp as a tack.

For the next hour we were left alone with Jacque (thank you for trusting us Roxanne) and explored everything from his relationship with Peter Joseph of the Zeitgeist Movement to his thoughts on the Resource Based Economy to the basic tenets of the Venus Project. Little did we know that this episode would soon become one of our most popular and defining episodes of London Real with over 200,000 views.

Recently celebrating his 98th birthday Jacque Fresco shows no signs of slowing down and you can still visit him and Roxanne Meadows at the Venus Project in Florida where they give 4 hour lectures every week on Saturdays. They are also working on a documentary film which you can learn more about it and donate by visiting The Venus Project Homepage.

Jacque Fresco has a uncanny way of transcending age, race, culture, and nationality that I still can't quite explain. Perhaps it is the fact that he has spent a lifetime dedicated to a message and truth that has never been fashionable or popular without ever giving up.

The term and meaning of a Resource-Based Economy was originated by  Jacque Fresco. It is a holistic social and economic system in which all  goods and services are available without the use of money, credits,  barter or any other system of debt or servitude. All resources become  the common heritage of all of the inhabitants, not just a select few.  The premise upon which this system is based is that the Earth is  abundant with plentiful resources; our practice of rationing resources  through monetary methods is irrelevant and counterproductive to our  survival.

Modern society has access to highly advanced technology and can make  available food, clothing, housing, and medical care; update our  educational system; and develop a limitless supply of renewable,  non-contaminating energy. By supplying an efficiently designed economy,  everyone can enjoy a very high standard of living with all of the  amenities of a high technological society.

A resource-based economy would utilize existing resources from the land  and sea, physical equipment, industrial plants, etc. to enhance the  lives of the total population. In an economy based on resources rather  than money, we could easily produce all of the necessities of life and  provide a high standard of living for all.

Jacque discusses "what is depression?" and talks about elements of  self-image and identification that produces low self-sufficiency.   Covers how projections create disappointment, how "looking within"  rarely works, and shows how specific reward/reinforcements often provide  only palliative help.  Discusses the importance of learning new things  and gaining predictability when dealing with depression.

Produced/Directed by Roxanne Meadows and Joel Holt Script by Roxanne Meadows Editor Joel Holt, assisted by Roxanne Meadows & Nathanael Dinwiddie Original Score by Kat Epple This film series explores many aspects of our society. To rethink what is possible in our world, we need to consider what kind of world we want to live in. Although we refer to it as a civilization, it is anything but civilized. Visions of global unity & fellowship have long inspired humanity, yet the social arrangements up to the present have largely failed to produce a peaceful and productive world. While we appear to be technically advanced, our values and behaviors are not. The possibility of an optimistic future is in stark contrast to our current social, economic, and environmental dilemmas. The Choice Is Ours includes interviews with notable scientists, media professionals, authors, and other thinkers exploring the difficulties we face. Part I provides an introduction and overview of cultural & environmental conditions that are untenable for a sustainable world civilization. It explores the determinants of behavior to dispel the myth of “human nature” while demonstrating how the environment shapes behavior. The science of behavior is an important - yet largely missing - ingredient in our culture. Part II questions the values, behaviors, and consequences of our social structures, and illustrates how our global monetary system is obsolete and increasingly insufficient to meet the needs of most people. Critical consideration of the banking, media, and criminal justice systems reveals these institutions for what they really are: tools of social control managed by the established political and economic elite. If we stay the present course, the familiar cycles of crime, economic booms & busts, war, and further environmental destruction are inevitable. Part III explains the methods and potential of science. It proposes solutions that we can apply at present to eliminate the use of non-renewable sources of energy. It depicts the vision of The Venus Project to build an entirely new world from the ground up, a “redesign of the culture,” where all enjoy a high standard of living, free of servitude and debt, while also protecting the environment. Part IV explains how it is not just architecture and a social structure that is in desperate need of change, but our values which have been handed down from centuries ago. They too need to be updated to our technological age, which has the potential to eliminate our scarcity-driven societies of today. Our problems are mostly of our own making, but we can still turn things around before the point of no return. It’s not too late for an optimistic outlook on the fantastic possibilities that lie before us.

Paradise or Oblivion http://www.thevenusproject.com https://www.facebook.com/TheVenusProj... This video presentation advocates a new socio-economic system, which is updated to present-day knowledge, featuring the life-long work of Social Engineer, Futurist, Inventor, and Industrial Designer Jacque Fresco, which he calls a Resource-Based Economy. This documentary details the root causes of the systemic value disorders and detrimental symptoms caused by our current established system. The film details the need to outgrow the dated and inefficient methods of politics, law, business, or any other "establishment" notions of human affairs, and use the methods of science, combined with high technology, to provide for the needs of all the world's people. It is not based on the opinions of the political and financial elite or on illusionary so-called democracies, but on maintaining a dynamic equilibrium with the planet that could ultimately provide abundance for all people. Paradise or Oblivion, by The Venus Project, introduces the viewer to a more appropriate value system that would be required to enable this caring and holistic approach to benefit human civilization. This alternative surpasses the need for a monetary-based, controlled, and scarcity-oriented environment, which we find ourselves in today. This is NOT the "major motion picture" that The Venus Project is working towards but rather is a short documentary to introduce the aims and proposals to new people. This is a free online documentary created by The Venus Project. Original music by Carly Paradis (‪http://www.carlyparadis.com/‬) from her album "They Have Been Watching."
