In this episode I share thoughts on what feedback is and how you can take it and use to fuel your growth. When you begin to see feedback as a gift, you'll learn to find a use for the opinion that is given to you as feedback.

We may never know how the mindset supports our desires or fights against, but we can examine how those who have gone ahead have positioned their minds to win. I see how the mindset can be a catapult to a higher level, or an obstacle.

'Fear not' doesn't mean that fear would leave you be. Rather, it means to find a way to do it regardless. "Just do it" by Nike is a catchy phrase until it comes to doing. Yet, anyone can do. Surprisingly, the world is full of smart people being ruled over by those with less intelligence but probably with more daring-ability.

Today is a good day, as any, to do and do and do of those things you've archived because of your perception that fear lives in your attic.

In this episode of The RealTalk Podcast, myself and my guest, Sering Jobe, talk about mental health and therapy from an African perspective. Sering shares his story to finding healing from trauma experienced in his journey from childhood to adulthood as an African man. In this open conversation on mental health, he talks about issues that affect a number of people of African descent, and the tipping point for him to finding wellness for himself.

The conversation on Mental Health never stops and wewill keep calling attention to it. One by one, we believe we would be able to change the narrative of the African from one where parents are mostly emotionally unavailable to one where parents are intentional with their children because they understand that their legacy is embedded in the gift oflove and light they give to their children and from their children's children.

We are probably only as strong as the communities we belong too. And because we tend to go to where we are seen and/or heard, the communities we belong to are usually the places where we find 'acceptance'. Unfortunately, this is not always what happens. Because we want to be accepted, many will go to where they percieve that they are being seen. Even when the seeing doesn't do any good, being seen anyhow to them is better than not being seen at all.

In this conversation with Tunmise Kuku, we talk about community - which really is bout the relationships that we have with the different individuals in our space.

I had fun with this conversation, I hope that you also have a good time listening.

In this episode I take a dive into the introverted/extraverted conversation.

Nature and Nurture shapes who we become. One, to a large degree, we have very little influence over. The other, we can do a reborn at it if we are unsatisfied with the outcome of its designs that we see in us. This is the case of our attitude; the single, probably, most important factor involved in the final outcome of our being.

While we make a lot of noise about our character/attitude, and some even using it as an excuse or a crutch, the fact remains that we can choose to either accept what we see or acknowledge it and choose and work something better.

Knowing who we are, why we behave how we do and what we can do to be better, can change the trajectory of our lives and put us on a pedestal far beyond what our background would have ever thought possible.

There really can't be fathers without men, hence the quality of fatherhood is dependent on the quality of manhood.

If there ever is an issue that we often play hide and seek with, I think this has to be it - "Boy-child, Manhood and Fatherhood". Maybe, there actually is a lot of talk around it, maybe we have just grown accustomed to a lot of words without seeing the men becoming better. Or maybe, it has become like the national anthem - a must to sing at such functions but not one that the words are allowed to dictate the terms of living as a citizen.

Boys become young men and soon they become fathers, and more often than not, they leave a trail of wickedness and suffering their wake. Why not? Broken people hurt people can never be truer than in the life of a man with deep rooted unresolved anger against fathers. This becomes their position of offence or defence against any authority, constituted or other.

That we may live lives in peace, I urge that you as a man, or you as a relative to a man, begin to see the man not as they are in this state of pain and brokenness, but as they can be, a state of wholeness. I believe that this is possible and I hope that you listen, dear man, and take the next step to finding liberation for the little bird inside of you that wants to sing to a new tune of freedom.

What exactly is the value of the people who play/work in your space? What’s your value in their space? Ouch! At some point, all of us humans will do the soul searching and decide if the people we are doing life with it are it or how much waste it was of those times we could have walked away to some places better but didn’t. Better early, I believe, to move when you can easily deal with the weight of those spaces than much later in life, wishing you had chosen you before all else. What sayest thou?

No one, almost, will tell you that they have to deal with envy or jealousy because that is usually a good place for the jury to congregate and delclare them guilty of wrong doing. However, sharing liquor and asun or vibing at the hairdressers or just 'catching cruise' are some of the most natural settings for codedly displaying envy and jealousy.

In this episode I talk about this two culprit and how I shoot at them when they begin to fly over my head before they 'shit on me head' or worse build a nest on it.

I hope you find it interesting and instructive as much as I think that you would.

"We making money this year" by Jaywon is a song that comes to mind. While this episode is not necesarily about money, I can imagine that a lot of the listeners are finding their path in life and money and the expressions we make it from are important to our lives and living.

In this episode, I sit with Mayokun for a brief but interesting conversation on starting a business, guarding his mind space and the relationships and support system that helps to keep in going.

The struggle can be very real. It's me also having to deal with the emotional baggages of the year and all that.

Peace can be as elusive as emotional fitness. The way you look forward to being whole physically is the same way, and much more, to chase after emotional wholeness. A sound mind is a strong weapon of the body. Don't lose your mind as you chase after living your life.

Saying “I understand” or “I feel you” when your actions don’t show any empathy to the other party, is not only discomforting it’s also quite insensitive to the pain they are going through.

One of the flaws of our humanity has got to be the desire to always want to please, to be liked by all. Well, it comes with a price. Sometimes the price is a bit of our soul.

Sometimes, how we choose to see things are often more critical than what we see. Most of us will look at an object or scene and mostly agree on what we see. What differentiates us most often is how we interpreted what we have seen, the 'how we see'. It is a case of half empty vs half full or in as may be in the case of two mountain climbers, one saying  "I am too far from the top of the mountain and I am tired I can't continue"  and another saying "I am a considerable distance from where I started from the bottom of the mountain, I might as well get on to the top".  How do you see?

Most of us have had a very poor understanding of what mental health is and the impact it has on society.  The more I look at the issues of mental health, the more I feel that it is not getting the right amount of attention it requires.
