Zach Fears took over as the Director of Sports Performance in January of 2019. Fears comes to Southeastern after spending the last year at Lincoln University in Missouri where he led that program. Fears served as the top assistant strength coach at Missouri Southern State from 2014 until taking over the head position at Lincoln. He got his start in college athletics at North Carolina State before spending two years at Winona State and one at Abilene Christian. Prior to making the move into college sports, he got his start as the Director of Sports Performance at Sterling Sports Performance in Pella, Iowa. Over his career he has designed and implemented programs for a wide range of sports, while also working with athlete nutrition. Fears earned his undergraduate degree in exercise science from Central College in 2010 and added a Master's from Winona State in 2013. He is also possesses certifications from the Collegiate Strength and Conditional Coaches Association, the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the United States Association of Weightlifting.
