They didn’t tell you, did they?
Well, sadly they didn’t tell many people. In fact, when it gets to funerals most people had to find it out by themselves.
Yep, many worked out they weren’t given all the funeral ceremony options. Because? Well, it’s neat and tidy if everything is done the way it’s always been done, for ever and ever, and ever.
Let me explain...
There are good funeral guys out there wanting to help you. They'll tell you...
Have a ceremony wherever you like. Wherever I like...? Live music? Dancing? Speeches, no speeches? I can write and deliver it myself? You're kidding!
Nope. You're the expert so you do the choosing.
Time to stir it up. Start creating funeral ceremonies that we want. Not what others think we should have. We're getting creative, personal about how we say that final goodbye.
Because.... well because it matters.
Where's your space? That place that is yours. the place you go to when you really need to think? A physical place or just a headspace?
Funerals under COVID-19 have left many families completely confused. The goodbye was nothing like what they imagined. But now they have the chance to just stop and think things through. Because when this has all relaxed a bit we can get back out and really celebrate that life. How? When? What would be right..?
That's why we need to find that place to just stop.
I went for a very early walk with my wife a few weeks back in the grip of lockdown restrictions to find somewhere. And it's incredible what you see when you finally get the time to actually look.
Who says you're not the expert?
You know more than anyone. Did you know that not only can you write the Tribute (eulogy) for that funeral you can also write and present the entire funeral ceremony too at that crematorium, for example?
No-one told you?
Alistair did exactly that - presented his mum's funeral and he's been telling Mike Kinnaird why and how.
How you can have an emotional, funny, sad, unique, personal extraordinary Goodbye. And by doing so you could potentially save more than a thousand pounds on the standard funeral. So how come you didn't know..?
