- Amazon Prime Fallout Show Lights Up The Gaming World! -
Amazon Prime's new "Fallout" series, which unexpectedly premiered on April 10th, has already skyrocketed to a 93% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and secured a second season. The show's success isn't just on screens, as Fallout games see a surge in player counts on Steam. Fallout 4's peak jumped to 83,491, while Fallout 76 broke its record with 39,455 players. Even classics like Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3 saw impressive spikes. Fallout Shelter, the mobile game, also peaked, climbing to No.7 on the US iOS chart, and quadrupling its revenue to $80,000 in just three days!

Grand Theft Auto 6 footage has been released, seemingly confirming the rumours of a male and female protagonists in a modern day Vice City. The GTA 6 leaked gameplay is from an early build of the game and some Capital-G "Gamers" think it's the end of the world because looks worse than GTA 5. This year's outing, developed by Sledgehammer Games, will take us back to WWII, but will it be able to find a new spin on the well-worn territory? It's time to put your tin foil hats on folks, as this week we delved deep into the curious conspiracies surrounding Abandoned, the upcoming PS5 survival horror title from Blue Box Studios. Is it connect to Silent Hill? Is Hideo Kojima somehow involved? Why are Sony keeping their lips sealed?
Alongside a deep dive into all of those questions, we argued over whether or not CD Projekt Red's notorious RPG Cyberpunk 2077 is fit for a return to the PlayStation Store, and also explored some of the rumours circling around two as-yet-unannounced titles: Ghost of Ikishima, an 'expandalone' for Sucker Punch's Ghost of Tsushima, and a reimagined take on EA's Dead Space series from their Motive studio.

What a crazy week for games! While we finally got to see a return of E3 it was largely hit & miss. Thankfully Microsoft / Bethesda & Nintendo came out packing some heavy hitters - Namely Starfield, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Redfall, Metroid Dread, and Legend Of Zelda Breath Of The Wild 2! Add the Summer Games Fest's Elden Ring reveal and you can't help but be happy with the state of things!
That's right! We finally got another look at From Software & George RR Martin's Elden Ring and my, oh my, does it look JUICY! We're hyped as hell for it but can it live up to the hype laid upon it? Maybe. We'll find out when Elden Ring releases in January 2022.

Blizzcon 2021 recently took place and Blizzard was keen to show off what they've been working on lately. The biggest news of the show was the Diablo 2 Resurrected reveal - a remaster of one of the greatest games of all time! With updated graphics, effects, adn resolution it promises to be something special! Let's just hope that Blizzard don't ruin a good thing... again.

Chris returns as we cover everything revealed at the delightfully average Nintendo Direct. It's been 590 days since the last major direct so some people's expectations were high! However, instead of a new Super Mario game or a glimpse of Breath Of The Wild 2 or Metroid Prime 4 we got a bunch of remasters including Skyward Sword and a Mario Golf game. Not bad but not great. Which is the exact same sentiment we had to the news that non other than Jack Black is going to play Claptrap in the Borderlands movie!
Oh yeah, and Chris got too excited about a new Dota 2 Anime being announced for Netflix but we try not to encourage him.
Cyberpunk 2077 is making headlines once again this week, as developer CD Projekt Red were hit by a major hack, with source code for the studios biggest titles, including The Witcher 3 and Gwent, being held ransom. In this episode, Alex and Jamie delved a little deeper into the story and explored what damage an attack like this could cause.
We also looked at the recent casting of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey as Joel and Ellie, the lead characters in Neil Druckmann and HBO's upcoming adaptation of The Last Of Us, while also touching on the brief rumour that Mahershala Ali was circling the role.

Fortnite has finished off it's latest season in spectacular fashion with their Nexus War Event - by being destroyed by Galactus! Yes, Marvel's Eater Of Worlds has taken a bite out of Fortnite's world and ushered in a new Season. Fornite Season 5 will rebuild the battle royale simulation by adding in The Mandolorian & The Child, Kratos, and possibly Halo's Master Chief as well.
That's cool and all, but the Nvidia RTX 3060ti is even cooler! It beats out the likes of a 2080 Super, so we got mad respect. It would be a great card to play Doom Eternal on - seeing as the Doomguy himself is coming to Microsoft's Xbox Games Pass. It's also available on Nintendo's Switch, but whatevs. Also, Ubisoft did an end of year thing called Ubisoft Connect. It's kinda like Spotify's Wrapped, but lamer.
Fortnite, the biggest game in the world, is adding a monthly subscription called Fortnite Crew. We're not too sure what to think about this - on the one hand, it's always good to support your favourite games, but on the other hand the price is pretty steep - even if it does come with an exclusive MandalorianFortnite skin! For that amount you could easily just get a Disney + subscription and actually WATCHThe Mandalorian!
The disasterous Playstation 5 pre-orders and launch is behind us but we know know why it was so hard for us to get our hands on the PS5! Scalpers have been gaming the system and selling the hottest new console for insane premiums! Oh well, at least Xbox Series X is available, right? Right?! No? Well I guess we'll have to settle for the eventual Xbox Cloud App on our smart TVs. I guess while we wait for that we could always fire up our Nintendo Switch and play some Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Calamity!

Man, Cyberpunk 2077 STILL looks incredible! This week saw the return of Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire and this time we caught a glimpse at the sweet looking cars you'll be driving around night city! And speaking of "Sweet Looking", we finally got an official look at the Playstation 5 UI! It looks super slick and the PS5 UI is certainly an upgrade to the PS4 UI. Ok, I think I've said UI enough times now.
Sony released a teardown video of the PS5, and boy did that thing look big! At least it has space for a big fan and heatsink though...unlike the Xbox Series X! Will they have a problem with OVERHEATING? Only time will tell, but what we do know is that the PS5 panels are removeable, and maybe even replaceable with some fancy designs. That's not all this week though as Rambo is back for blood and this time it's on MK11, along with Mileena.

Another week, another Ubisoft Forward, and this one was perhaps even less inspired than the last. The rumoured remake of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is real, but it looks like absolute trash, Immortals: Fenyx Rising is simply Ubisoft's take on Nintendo's Breath of the Wild, and Riders Republic looks like a mash-up between Trials and Steep. Meh.
Elsewhere we discussed the recently-revealed Xbox Series S, compared it to the chunkier Xbox Series X, and pondered over the consoles release dates and prices. Will they be the consoles that help Microsoft topple Sony's PlayStation 5? Only time will tell.

CD Project Red hosted another episode of their Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire showing off 3 differing Lifepaths for your character, namely a street kid who runs with gangs, a Mad Max inspired Nomad, or a corporate assassin. They also showed off weapon classes and weapon customization. Needles to say we're super HYPED for this game!

2020 is looking to be the year of delayed games. People can't wait to get their hands on Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, The Last Of Us Part 2, Marvel's Avengers & Dying Light but all these titles have been delayed. It's disappointing, sure, but this shouldn't worry you too much as it's probably a good thing that the developers see that these games need some polish and optimization to deliver the best enjoyable experience. We'd rather have a great game that was slightly delayed than a buggy mess that was rushed out the door to meet some arbitrary date or sales target - looking at you Anthem!
E3 is the major gaming event in everyone's calendar, but there is no doubt that over the years it's slowly been getting worse and worse. For the second year in a row, Sony PlayStation will skip E3! Sony have a HUGE year ahead of them with the reveal of the PlayStation 5 and will probably want to do things their own way. Microsoft, on the other hand, are more than happy to fill the gap left by the PS5 and are planning a massive E3 2020 press conference centred around their Xbox Series X! This all leaves us asking the question: Is E3 even necessary any more? While we try figure out if it is, PlayStation published their Games Of The Decade list with some surprising entries!
