Marc Defant is a professor of geology at the University of South Florida who authored the 2025 paper "Evolutionary Psychology and the Crisis of Empirical Rigor in Feminist Studies," published in Sexuality & Culture. The paper critiques feminist studies for prioritizing ideology over empirical evidence, using evolutionalry psychology to challeng concepts like pariarchy, social constructionism, fat studies, rape theories, and ecofiminism. Defant argues these ideas often ignore biological ralities, such as sex differences in reproductive investment, and function more as political advocacy then rigorous scholarship. This episode with Thomas Speciale covers the controversy surrounding a press release published by the Democratic Party of Virginia just days before the 2022 midterm elections. Speciale alleges that the press release false portrayed him as a "notable insurrectionist who attacked the United States Capitol" and claimed he "bloodied and beat law enforcement," charges which he categorically denies. During this episode, Speciale outlines how he warned authorities of possible violence in advance and was present on January 6th attempting to prevent harm, not perpetrate it. Speciale discusses his efforts during discovery to prove that the press release was drafted, edited, and approved by Abigail Spanberger's campaign team, rather than independently by the party.

Mark Morgan and I share a history together from the FBI Academy. Mark was the Assistant Director of the Academy, and I was an instructor and Employee Assistance Program Peer Counselor. After retiring from the FBI, Mark went on to become the Chief of the United States Border Patrol, Acting Director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and then Acting Commissioner of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Mark also retired from the FBI after twenty years and served as a Sheriff's Deputy and Police Officer. Mark has extensive experience dealing with Border issues, and in this episode, we had a great conversation about the border, and how the crisis we are now facing makes every state a border state.

He was working for the IRS, and what frustrated her was the lack answers and support she received from the IRS regarding the circumstances around his death. Earlier this year I interviewed former retired Supervisory Special Agent James Gagliano about the corruption in the FBI. Last week, James wrote an article for the New York Post titled "The FBI Agents Assocation rewarded agents who took a knee in front of BLM, proving the rot isn't just at the top". This article has raised quite the stir with both current and former FBI Agents. In this episode I present my viewpoint on this issue having served for over twenty years as an agent myself in the FBI. Change within the FBI is not going to happen until there is a groundswell of demand from the public. The FBI cannot continue down this road if it is expected to serve the American people, and I discuss my thoughts on how this should and can be done.

When I first began my FBI career, Louis Freeh was the FBI Director. Unlike Robert Mueller, Louis Freeh was a former FBI agent and demonstrated that he trusted his agents and lead accordingly. When the 9/11 attacks occurred, Robert Mueller had been on the job for just one week. I believe his leadership style and heavy-handedness paved the way for the problems we encounter to this day.
