2020 was supposed to be the year that all of the magic happened, and then the world shut down and everything changed. For me, this meant throwing some glitter on it and giving myself a lot of grace. My name is Dani Schwinn. I am an artist, teacher, mother, and dreamer. I'm a self-help enthusiast and love every personality quiz from Strength Finders to "which Bachelor star is your perfect match?" (Ben Flajnik - not thrilled about that result). In this year of growth, I will share my journey of giving myself some grace and finding glitter in the world.
For the month of May, I focused on adding energy-giving activities to my daily routine with the goal of improving my mental health. This mindset shift of adding healthy habits, rather than depriving myself of unhealthy habits, has been massively impactful on my motivation to keep going! I hope this can encourage you to shift your mindset and improve your overall wellness too!
I've spent many years trying to understand myself better so that I can figure out what I am supposed to do with my life. This year, I'm focusing less on those ambitious goals and more on slowing down and enjoying the now. After careful consideration, I've decided my word for the year is "Hygge." In this episode, I talk about why I'm focusing on this word and touching on how this relates to my Gallup strengths and Enneagram.
In essence, new year, same exact me, sharing some of the same things I always want to talk about.
In this episode, I share some of the moments when I realized I was no longer young and in fashion. I don’t know when it was that I crossed this threshold, but I’m at the point in my life where I am just fully embracing my millennial-ness and wearing what makes me feel confident - not what is currently trendy. I suggest we all find the style that suits us and not focus so much on the silly arguments between skinny jeans and flare, center part or side, fitted jackets or oversized.
"How do I shake this envy
When I see you doing well
Sister how do I love myself enough to know
Your accomplishments are not my failures
We are not each other’s competition."
-Rupi Kaur
My word for the year is "renew." I'm seeking renewal in my own definition of success and growth and I hope you'll come along with me, no matter how you define success in your own journey.
I'm learning that creating healthy habits isn't about starting over but improving little by little. Don't wait for Monday, or after the next big event, just add healthy habits each day.
I believe that every difficult situation comes with a lesson. In this episode, I explore silver linings, and how we can use these lessons to move forward from this traumatic couple of years.

We live in a time where we are constantly told that we can be anything and do anything that we set our minds to. But what if we don't know what it is that we want to be? In this episode, I talk about my current struggles with finding purpose and some advice I've been given for how to find your passion.
So you want to manifest some big goals, but you know it is going to take time and patience. How do you stay motivated? In this episode, I discuss the Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin and my advice for each tendency to stay motivated in your daily goal manifestation. Plus a bonus story about my husband, the rebel, and Waffle Wednesday.
After an evening with no running water, I started thinking about perspective and comparison. How can we turn the often negative feelings of comparison into compassion and connection?
For my 3yo right now, friendship is as simple as walking up to someone on the playground and asking "do you wanna be my best friend?" It's easy, there's no awkward small-talk, you're holding hands and loving on each other minutes after you meet. And then we grow up and get more awkward. So how do we maintain friendships and create new ones as adults? In this episode, I interview my friend, Lauren about how friendship changes throughout different stages of life and how to navigate this all.
It's not magic, it's mindset. What I learned about the power of mindset to manifest your future and improve your present.
