This is the second to last episode of Season 2! This episode is all about black girl healing, liberation and empowerment. I discuss what healing is and why these three things are aligned. Speaking to so many amazing black women with the podcast and connecting with many more on and offline has presented a common tenet. Our healing is active and must be intentional. Our liberation comes from that healing which all leads to empowerment and audacity.
In this episode I also give more details of being an Empowerment and Liberation Coach and my plans moving forward to help other black women on their healing journey!

What do you think of when you hear the word luxury? The first words that may pop in your mind is indulgence, rich, expensive, high-end ,even inaccessible. We tend to think luxury is granted to those that have the money and time but luxury is absolutely accessible! You get to define luxury for you! Join Erin Alexander, Founder and CEO of Melanin Erin Virtual Assistance, and I in this 2 -part conversation on defining what black girl luxury is. We talk about travel as luxury, freedom of choice and how the pandemic prompted Erin to create a career that supported her own definition of luxury. Both of these episodes will inspire you to define what luxury means to you and to be audacious enough to follow your passions.

This week's episode is all about us audacious black girls in the workplace and why we not only belong but need to be in the room where decisions are happening.
Sometimes being in those rooms (especially in corporate spaces that may be heavily white and male) can be frustrating as not only a woman but a black woman. But, we still need to be there and feel empowered in those spaces knowing that our presence and voice are needed. We also deserve to feel empowered when we step out on our own and create our businesses/platforms! I also offer some tips to help you feel empowered in any workspace.

In this episode, I discuss the strong black woman term and how society has made it something negative with the goal of "trying" to paint us as "too much" or pressure us to endure discomfort. But us black women are indeed strong! Where would we be, where would our community be if we weren't strong and resilient. But with that strength that we have that allows us to be go-getters, to be successful and audacious....our softness, our grace and our beauty are just as strong. So yes, we are indeed strong but we get to define our strength! I offer tips and affirmations to help you reclaim your strong!

Hey audacious black girl, do you know that your story is worthy of being told? That your voice is needed and everything you have to offer is worthy of praise? Black women need more spaces that highlight our voices and allow us to share our stories, our businesses and our creativity. My guest Nikki Branch, CEO of Women for the Culture, does just that! With her business she has "built a community for black women to empower each other and level up on their goals and relationships". We discuss how she uses her platform to raise the voices of black women and how she learned to embrace her own story. We chat about the importance of platforms that create space for us, being authentic to who you are and having relationship circles that are purposeful and aligned with your intentions.

There are so many bomb black designers and creators out there but visibility is needed in order to find them! Join me as I talk with guest Victoria Reed, creator of Victoria Reed Magazine, as we discuss the need to create visibility for black designers and how she's fulfilling that need by creating a platform that highlights them.
Victoria is a photographer, writer and solo-preneur creating what it is she saw was missing from fashion. Her mission is to make her magazine a go to source for finding black designers and give them the platform they deserve. With so many desiring to buy black products and services, she's definitely creating something that supports that!
We chat about what it means to take up space in a genre where its a struggle to gain visibility, supporting black creators and being audacious by creating what it is you seek!
If you want some inspiration to do that bold thing, that thing that's calling you to create, this episode will leave you feeling like taking that step.
You CAN do audacious and soul fulfilling things!

In yoga philosophy, Asteya means "non-stealing" in action, thoughts or intent. In applying this to ourselves, it can also be interpreted as finding contentment with what you already have. "Journey to Asteya" is a guided meditation focused on finding contentment with who you are and what you have right now.

Support from family, friends and others can be so instrumental as we travel on the road of self-discovery. On the podcast I talk often about how instrumental my husband was/is to my own journey so I invited him to to have a conversation with me about what it means to support your partner and each other as you define yourself while you're in a relationship. Our conversation also led into our thoughts about what it means to protect the black woman and to protect each other!

Black women are so dynamic! We continue to do the unexpected and define ourselves in any role or environment we occupy. Join guest Rebekah Elaine and I in a discussion about how she occupies the Military space as not only a black woman but also as an Officer. She went from from enlisted to officer and with that same audacious intent of advancing in the military she has defined herself outside of the uniform.

Some way, somehow us black and brown people have always found a way to overcome. We find joy, beauty and blessings despite the social and racial injustices. In this episode, we discuss how we are not numb or desensitized to the traumas we see/experience in particular with police killings. We always find a way to get through so we can continue to do the work!
Normally we gear toward women in this space but this episode is for everyone so share and have that conversation with others!
This episode has a meditation at the end to remind you that you are a feeling and divine being!

We all have our story of how and when we realized that feeling of "otherness" because of not only our skin color but our bodies as girls/women. In this episode I share experiences that I think many of us can relate to and talk about how to feel safe in our bodies so we can embody our bodies. I lead you in a beautiful and empowering meditation in the end so make sure you take a moment to flow with the breathe, find stillness and embody your body.
*Trigger Warning: In this episode, I discuss sensitive topics regarding experiences of racism and sexual harassment. Feel free to skip ahead to minute 11:40.
