DISTRIKT is a 501c3 Non-Profit music and arts organization, supporting an inclusive and diverse community of performers and artists through events, partnerships, community involvement, mentorship and relationship building.
DISTRIKT Sound is more than just a record label. We build relationships with up and coming producers to nurture their creative work, release their original music, book support tours and help artists build successful careers.
It was so great to be back in Washington, D.C. for our annual DISTRIKT party at Flash, one of my favorite clubs. It's been a bit since I have released a set, so I'm excited to share this new mix from one of my favorite clubs. Enjoy!

This was my first time at Burning Man and it was magical for so many reasons. The morning of my set at DISTRIKT with Carl Cox, we rode out to the deep playa where my boyfriend of 10 years got down on bended knee and proposed to me, just as the sun was peeking above the mountains! The magic in the air was electrifying, I didn't think it could get any better than that moment, and then that same afternoon I found myself onstage at Distrikt, playing the music I adore to a crowd of burners, all so pumped to get the party started after a few days of bad weather! Handing over to Carl was such a surreal, special moment for me. DISTRIKT was the first dance floor I ever stepped onto at my first Burning Man many years ago, and still to this day I recall the wonderful chaos that unfolded right in front of my eyes. A nice blend of naked and costumed bodies, all moving in a frantic way: the energy was unparalleled. Given this context, being invited to play the stage that week was a deeply personal moment for me. With the tough weather behind us, closing the week and welcoming the weekend felt like a proper celebration. I leaned into a groovy and upbeat, house-adjacent set to fully embrace the day. My first encounter with DISTRIKT was years ago at Burning Man, when we camped right next to them. When everyone else powered down, they were just getting started—day after day. It was a special day having our longtime friend and DISTRIKT supporter, DJ Chus, join us at Shack15 in San Francisco for our San Francisco fundraiser on August 2nd. Brian explains: “When I received this message on the phone, I felt it needed to be shared with the world, so I decided to create an entire track around it. The haunting-style groove is built with Roland drum machines, accompanied by live electric guitar and Moog synthesizers, all written in a call-and-response style. Playing DISTRIKT at Burning Man is always an incredible pleasure, but this year was particularly special with the camp at the 10 o’clock corner. The view of the open playa, art cars gliding past, and mini dust tornadoes swirling around created a unparalleled backdrop to open that Wednesday for the Distrikt x Robot Heart link up — elegantly highlighting our vibrant Burning Man community. DISTRIKT...A place that needs no introduction in the Burning Man community... yet an enigma to the rest of the world! The cages... the dust storms... the once in a life time sets... and my god those SUNSETS! In 2004 The Deep End change my perception of what a dance floor should/could be... it changed the way I expected a dance floor to make me feel! It introduced me to the concept of Frisson... or as I like to call it... the “dance floor orgasm”. Burning Man: where each year brings a whirlwind of adventures, surprises, and moments that stick with you long after the dust settles. And in the midst of all that chaos, there's DISTRIKT; an oasis of fun and entertainment that looks straight from a Mad Max movie gone wild, takes the Burning Man experience to a whole new level. My inaugural gig at DISTRIKT two years back was a textbook case of Burning Man madness. Picture this: a monstrous sandstorm sweeping across the playa, me wandering around lost on my bike, fashionably late to my own set. But did DISTRIKT panic? Nah. They greeted me with a fresh smoothie to kickstart my DJing journey amidst the swirling dust. Classic!Fast forward to my most recent escapade at DISTRIKT, and Mother Nature decided to throw a curveball — cue the floodwaters!! Yet, the flood came fashionably late, conveniently after my set. But that night? Dehydration was the name of the game. AND my Traktor, bless its digital soul, decided it wasn't in the mood to play nice with the mixer. And there I was, parched AF like a desert plant, with everyone and their playa cousins offering me water tequila while I attempted to update the mixer driver in a haze of confusion, and of course, the DISTRIKT gang was there on top of the whole process to get me up and running - literally and musically. In true playa fashion the show must go on. Cue the backup USBs swooping in to save the day. And just when I thought it couldn't get any wilder, in strolls Diplo himself, ready to unveil our collaborative masterpiece ‘Anthem' to the world (although at the time we did’t have name for it yet). But wait, there's more — did you know those dusty X1 Traktor controllers could go wireless? Neither did I, until Diplo schooled me, adding cowbells to our track live like a mad musical scientist.So without further ado, here's a glimpse into that glorious night before the floods—a sonic journey through the madness and magic of DISTRIKT at Burning Man. A prime memory from our first Burn in 2019 is dancing at DISTRIKT for a Robot Heart tie-up with a big group of friends, full of joy and awe and acting like goofballs. That year we had camped at 10&K. Flash forward four years later, we found ourselves opening up DISTRIKT's 2023 season in their new home at 10&K. So much has changed in four years, both globally and personally as we've moved into the creation part of our electronic music journey instead of just being appreciators.One thing that hasn't changed a bit is the joy and awe we feel being present in the dust with thousands of our closest friends and bringing those memories home with us each year as fuel. Thank you to DISTRIKT for giving us the opportunity to experience such a beautiful full-circle moment. This set is special to me, DISTRIKT has been family to me on and off playa. Being a part of the community showed me what the real reward of contributing to BM was and as an artist, playing on their stage both on playa and at fundraisers always has been incredibly satisfying. Wow! This was one of the most surreal experiences of my life. I had been working with very little rest, building our mutant vehicle, Discow, for over 4 days straight.About 20 minutes before my set, I ran over to the DISTRIKT stage, which was literally 1 minute away — the shift in energy was the biggest energy shift I’ve experienced in my life. A transition from sweaty, tired, & cranky dear friends to day-time playa energy at full force. I went from tired to overwhelmed, almost as if I had shot caffeine into my veins. This set is a representation of the jolt I felt in that moment — catalyzed by the vibrant, dusty dance floor and its kindred spirits. What an incredible experience! Commanding the rave at DISTRIKT has been a decade long dream of ours that finally came true this year. DISTRIKT was on absolute fire going into the night - a new chapter in the DISTRIKT saga. It was a real honor for us to close out Tuesday after the legendary Robot Heart tie-up. We came in ready to peak surrounded by all our Miki Beach family. This debut set is fast paced and charged with energy to launch the rave into Deep Playa oblivion. It was an exhilarating experience to bring our Miami flavor to DISTRIKT for its inaugural night program, a Burning Man moment we will always cherish. Going back to the playa for my eighth burn and getting the chance to play a set with DISTRIKT for the first time was truly a dream come true. DISTRIKT has been a beloved camp where I've made countless memories over the years. The setup and sound system were totally mind-blowing, taking the crowd's energy to a whole new level. It has been a real honor to play at Camp DISTRIKT for the very first time in a year of complete novelty for several reasons: a new location right on the edge of the playa with almost nothing around it, giving it a truly special feeling. Also, it was a sunset to nighttime slot that was debuted with my set and those of my colleagues... and on a day when Carl Cox and Sharam had performed before me. A real challenge. That's DISTRIKT—once the first track plays, the crowd's energy takes over and the session flows effortlessly. An absolute delight. For me, Burning Man signifies entering a dimension of freedom and maximum expression, a place where I can take risks but also the ideal spot to play my favorite music, not necessarily dance music. I remember finishing my set at the camp where I had set up, then biking under the scorching sun towards DISTRIKT. A pleasant sandstorm swept over me as I pedaled to reach the opposite side of the playa... the magic fueled by a small bottle of mezcal and there I am at the controls of one of my favorite sound camps... I cherish these moments, the scents, the embraces, the gazes, and smiles of the audience. I felt the biggest honor to play Monday sunset at DISTRIKT for Burning Man 2023; their parties were a highlight of my first (2022) burn. The day was scorching, and I was still mentally adjusting to the playa having just traveled from Thailand two days prior. I went into the set without a plan (as always) but with an intention - balancing fun and emotion. I tested quite a bit of unreleased tracks and edits, as there is no better place to push your boundaries than the playa. As the sun began to set, the temperature cooled, and the energy of the crowd went through the roof. I was saving some of these jams for months, waiting for the right moment to send our hearts, bodies and souls into a wild frenzy as we once again journeyed on the road to Black Rock City. With the feeling of an expansive and dusty sunrise always in my mind, I was warming up the main room at Great Northern in San Francisco and it took no time at all for the space to pack in with fellow wanderers, dreamers and playa people who were ready to give in to the waves of sonic bliss.
As we dive into the deep end together with our hearts open, just imagine that I’m right there along side you dancing my dusty boots off to the bitter end. First on the floor, last to leave. I’m looking forward to seeing you all on desert dance floor and beyond in 2023.

2022 was my 8th return to Burning Man and my 4th year camping and building with DISTRIKT. It’s always a lot of blood, sweat, and beers being part of such a massive camp that provides so much. It is rewarding in ways I can’t describe despite this year being particularly difficult.
As for my set at DISTRIKT, I decided to go with a darker style than usual and the crowd seemed to love it. I wanted to represent the sound from my Shadow Wulf record label and I included a few grooves from the label. It was a blissful experience for me to see all the happy faces getting down in the heat with me. I hope you all enjoy this recording over and over again. I am looking forward to seeing you all in the dust once again 2023!

DISTRIKT is one of the camps who welcomed us very early on. What we like most about it is that it feels like a real nightclub in the most surreal environment. Kramer, Ben and the whole D-crew are the most welcoming and incredible hosts you can imagine. They put so much blood, sweat & tears in this project. And what we love that you have to prepare very differently. You have to find the jams which have a great energy and still the vibes. As it’s daytime and such a big space it’s pure bliss to unite all the different kind of humans, species, stray cats & enthusiasts. The little extras like the green room are a prove of their never ending love for details. My experience started by getting completely lost in a crazy white out on the Playa solo. I lost & ditched my homies in a singular effort to make my set on time on my bike lol. I ended up being 30 minutes late to my set and also played on CDJs first time in 10 years or so (or whatever long time - I’m usually a Traktor guy).It was one of those magical moments with the elements (extreme heat and playa dust) dictating the direction of the day. I was thirsty AF on top of being late AF. But the DISTRIKT crew had my back upon arrival with smoothies, water and drinks and made me feel at home immediately, and it turned out to be one of my most memorable and cherished experiences. This year was different from all the rest - that’s for sure. This would have been my 7th burn in a row. I guess technically, it was. Thinking back to Burning Man 2019 now, during our time of ‘collective isolation’ is a salve for caged souls. The year was 2009, I was 18, I had just arrived on Playa for my very first time. I pulled my bike off the rack, and my veteran campmate said, “Just Go.” It took me all of 5 minutes to roll up to the greatest party I have ever seen. You know what I’m talking about. That late afternoon magic, those smiles all around, that chuggy DISTRIKT sound, that airhorn right when you think it couldn’t get any more intense, that feeling that it just can’t get any better than this.
I was hooked.
For 10 years I never camped out of earshot of that airhorn, as DISTRIKT became the most consistent part of my Burning Man experience (in the day time, at least). But more importantly, it became the greatest source of musical inspiration for me over those years. Over the last decade, as I changed, the playa changed, Distrikt continued to be a persistent symbol of joy and shared experience, ever-present during that week in the desert. And in many ways, it served as my true north as I grew up on the playa, both creatively and personally. I'm proud to say that I grew up on DISRIKT dancefloor.
Opening up DISTRIKT this year held a tremendous amount of significance for me. Not only was it a 10-year-long dream of mine to play here, but this was my opportunity to give back to a place that has given me so much. So my goal was to play a set that told the story of the emotions that DISTRIKT has brought to me over the last decade: joy, familiarity, depth, and comfort to name a few.
This set is about getting the week started right, and having a blast with your friends. By mid-way through the set, as the disco vibe picked up, every friend I had on Playa was there; my entire camp, the people I look up to, and the people that I love, all showed up. It was a heartwarming show of support that I will never forget.
I can’t thank the DISTRIKT Team enough for having me, believing in me and inspiring me over the years, Ryan and Kramer, especially.

DISTRIKT has become my mainstay the past few years around Black Rock City. Being on the build crew has really taught me a lot and I have really connected with my DISTRIKT family. Everyone kicks so much ass to make DISTRIKT ignite for one glorious week a year, all the effort is gratefully appreciated. I feel like every year I say my closing set at DISTRIKT is the highlight of my year of touring (because well, it always is) and this year was no different! Always the best energy, the biggest smiles, the happiest dance floor on earth...only this year, I got to play that set twice! Since there was an issue with the original recording, I had the opportunity to play that set in its entirety (plus an extra two hours at the end) by recording it live on my Garage Party Sessions show on Saturday March 28, 2020. I hope those of you who tuned in the past weekend were able to get way from our current global situation for a few hours and get back to happier days on the playa, I know I sure did, so thank you for being there with me again.
The first 3 hours of this set are the same songs in the same order as my set at Burning Man 2019. I decided to leave the last 2 hours on there as a little bonus, just to help you get through these long days stuck at home. Playing at DISTRIKT has been a goal of mine since I started as a DJ, as I’ve spent many dusty afternoons enjoying tunes in the dust here. Having the chance to spin from noon-1pm on Thursday was an incredible way to kick off the day – it gave me a unique opportunity to get people out of bed, moving and grooving, and ready to dance for hours to come. This set was so much fun to curate, craft and share with a growing dancefloor, and playing on the legendary DISTRIKT soundsystem was an absolute treat.

DISTRIKT has accepted me to come home with them for my first burn in 2018, and has become a big part of my burn family, and even extending into the default world. In 2019, they had graciously allowed me to live a dream and perform on playa to gift those in attendance with music that came from the heart and soul. To camp with and play at DISTRIKT this year was an unforgettable experience that I am eternally thankful for. I've been to 4 consecutive burns now, 2016 was my first. I've been blessed to play a number of sound camps and art cars, but I've always thought of DISTRIKT as one of the great whites, with a reputation that I’ve known about since before I made my first pilgrimage to the Playa. The hardworking and meticulous DISTRIKT team always provide a mystical experience for all of us dusty musically inclined burners, with a carefully curated lineup and grade A Funkworks sound. Like many DJs, I hoped to one day be given the opportunity to perform on this stage, and when I was asked to open the stage on Saturday morning at this year's Burn I was truly honored and stoked! I view the opener time slot as a challenging role that comes with a lot of responsibility and one that must be handled appropriately. I often have more opportunities for late-night sets so it was really exciting to step out of my usual zone and get to flex my chops with a daytime set! I drew on my memory of DISTRIKT over the years and felt inspired to bring to the table a different kind of opening set. I wanted to do something very minimal start to finish, but with a careful progression throughout my tale, covering different areas and emotions. This was our third time playing for the DISTRIKT camp at Burning Man, and as they say, third time is a charm. The fun thing about playing for DISTRIKT is that it challenges us to dig deep into our techno and look for the more bumpin and thumpin grooves as opposed to the whimsical trippy sounds that we enjoy sprinkling around The Playa. As always DISTRIKT supplied an amazing sound system, and the new set up with the shade structure definitely adds more vibe to the party and the dance floor. Since first attending Burning Man in 2010, DISTRIKT has always been a go-to party during the day when you wanted to just let go and let your freak flag fly. Always a good time, I have had many hot sweaty days here dancing in the sun and enjoying all the beauty it has to offer. When I was asked to play this past year, I was elated that they wanted me back. Being able to play for such a quintessential sound camp is such an honor and humbling experience. It pushes me as an artist and makes me work extra hard cause, you know you have to bring the vibes when you hit the decks. For this year I wanted to do something special, and I chose to play more than 50% original unreleased material as well as new music from my label. It was such an amazing feeling seeing people get down to music that I produced, I’m forever grateful for the experience. Getting to play for DISTRIKT was definitely something on my bucket list. I have been attending Burning man for 7 years each year I definitely spend some decent amount of time raving at DISTRIKT always hoping to play the following year, so finally when Ben asked me to play I was super excited. 2019 was my 5th Burning Man, with 2010 being my first. Distrikt was already one of the top sound camps in BRC almost a decade ago & a place I’ve spent many an hour kicking up the dust with friends over the years. It was therefore of course an honor & a privilege to play at Distrikt this year where I played from 3pm - 4:30pm on the Thursday afternoon. With the crowd just starting to build before I went on I decided to drop the energy back a little to establish a solid groove and start the fun journey that would build the vibes appropriately for all that was to follow that afternoon. It’s hard to describe the electric vibe and energy of Burning man, and then you Distrikt which in my opinion is on another level. Everyone who is there is 110% committed to the moment and soaking in every ounce of the experience, so when it comes to playing a set mid-day the place is electric. Playing at the House Of Yes in New York was exactly that vibe and literally people hanging off the rafters...honestly the best gig of the year for me and I cannot wait to play it again.

That day at Distrikt the weather was perfect and as usual we brought the sunshine crew in full force. It was opening day and everyone’s energy is full on, including myself. The best way to open your heart and body after a long journey to the playa is to dance it out, shake it out, hug your friends you haven’t seen in a year. 2018 was my first Burn in 11 years and it was so great to be back! A lot has changed since my very first in 1999 yet a lot stays the same...
For example, on my last trip to BRC in 2007 the best daytime party on the Playa was called the Deep End and in 2018 it was called DISTRIKT - but guess what? Same party 🙂
Playing this daytime set on Saturday on the huge DISTRIKT system I couldn’t help but have fun, and danced straight through Aaron Jacob’s birthday set after. People really were having way too much fun here, and it was great to participate in that!

Playing my Saturday closing party set at DISTRIKT is always the highlight of the year for me DJing. While every year is amazing, this year was special, as everything just came together at DISTRIKT. Our brand new stage went off without a hitch, the weather was amazing, we had an incredible group of campers and it all just led to one of my personal best years at BM so far(of the 19 I've been to! ). The music, the people, the sound system and the overall vibe, just incredible. This 3 hour set has some of my favorite tracks of the past year, as well as some fun classics you’ll recognize. Since the moment I began kamping with DISTRIKT in 2013, I knew I had a joined a special tribe of people. My life partner, Jenn, has been affiliated with them since DISTRIKT was known as The Deep End, circa 2009. It takes a special, determined group of people to work year-round, participating in weekend build sessions and organizing successful fundraisers throughout the world, in order to provide six wonderful day parties at Burning Man each and every year.
Every time I am invited to DJ at a DISTRIKT event, whether it is a fundraiser or on Playa, I do not take it for granted. Ben and Kramer hold the DISTRIKT name to such a high standard musically. They carefully select all the DJ’s, paying close attention to individual styles, which only enhances the vibe of the party. This year at Burning Man, I had the privilege of performing during the 3-4:30pm slot on opening day Monday. This mix portraits my affection of dubby, tribal House, while also implementing the organic rhythmic sounds of Techno. The crowd’s energy was thick, playing a major part in the direction this set went. Thank you to all who came out and played such an important role during this set, as well as the rest of the week at DISTRIKT.

If you ask anyone on the playa about DISTRIKT, they immediately smile and say, best day party on the playa! I am proud to be with a kamp of snarky folks who work hard to deliver a full bar 6 days a week and with a music line up that is always on point. I was on the build knew this year and now know a bit more of what it takes to get everything dialed in. A lot of blood, sweat, and middle fingers get this all done. There isn’t room for sensitive Sally’s and that’s why I fit in. I am most grateful for my involvement with DISTRIKT and this year I got to play on my Burnthday, Saturday, September 1st with so many of my awesome friends there with me. The crowd was gathering for my good friend, colleague, and badass DJ Ben Annand and I was ecstatic to follow his flow. This was my 11th burn. I had taken a year off, so was hoping for big things. The playa didn’t disappoint. As I approached the DISTRIKT booth that afternoon, a massive dust storm was in full force. The Robot Heart bus had plugged in earlier, teaming up with the DISTRIKT Funktion-One to create an unforgettable sound. The crowd was electric like I’ve never seen. "Here is my set recorded from DISTRIKT 2017, Tuesday 3 pm. It was a record hot Burn this year and the day already blazing. With 10 minutes before my set, a mob of clouds rolled in to save the day. The crowd started filling in quickly. I kept it weird, deep, dark, light, techy, minimal with a splash of dub, and always fucking groovy. The Funkworks Funktion One's are always a pleasure to play on, especially with Cody Kane dialing the sound. And the stage this year was so dope.
Camping with DISTRIKT was an awesome experience. The amount of energy, blood, sweat, and love that goes into this camp is incredible. Much respect to my DISTRIKT family. You are all crazy and I love you all!

I was looking forward to playing on this stage for years, ever since I was lucky enough to play in 2011. I had a sound in my heart, feet and body, and I just couldn't get it out, not until I let it all out at @DISTRIKT-sound. I have to shout out to my whole tribe who was front and center from the beginning to the end of this set, especially with all that heat! This year was incredible in so many ways. My hats off to the whole DISTRIKT tribe who built one of the sickest DJ booths I have ever had the honor of playing. The vibes were thick, and the drink's were thicker. The DISTRIKT HOLIDAZE party has become quite the tradition for us each December. We get the whole crew together and spend a few days assembling decorations, then descend on Public Works like over-stimulated elves to rock the house. The energy within the blocks surrounding DISTRIKT is palpable, and there is no greater honor than getting to play a set there! I had actually been exploring the area that entire morning, on a quest to find my friends that were camping in the area. I couldn't find them, so I headed over to an already cracking party at DISTRIKT, got on the decks, and decided to send out a little call signal to my friends in the area, hoping they would recognize my vibes and come through. After 12 years of going to Deep End and DISTRIKT religiously for a 'Dusty Good Time', this year I was honored to be asked to play DISTRIKT, which was my 20th Burn )^(.
After waking up a little later (than anticipated) from a long night at Mayan Warrior/Robot Heart Hookup out in Deep Playa, I raced over to DISTRIKT, where D.J. Boris Levit was holding things down nicely. Before I even had a chance to take off my camel-back, Boris said, 'this is my last track'. I reached around my neck for my FlashDrive containing my selections for my set at DISTRIKT, with my newest arsenal of secret weapons, and a handful classic gem's... but my Flash-Drive was GONE! It had been around my neck all week. Apparently I left it in the CDJ's at Robot Heart the day before on the Art-Tour with Skrillex. Luckily, I had a backup plan in place, and I remembered that I zip-tied one backup Flash-Drive to my headphones, and another one to my bike seat, just for this sort of scenario. Because “Sometimes… Burning Man Happens"
The Dance-Floor was just getting filled around 1pm, (well the bar was at least anyways ;) And I played appropriately for my time slot. Direct from my soul to the dance-floor. Not too hard, not too soft, just warm, groovy rhythms, designed to attract people to the dance-floor. And it totally worked! The floor started filling up with happy smiling faces, the DJ Booth started to fill up with friends.
"Playa Magic" was in full effect!
Playing music on That Sound-System for DISTRIKT, was absolutely exhilarating .... and having the opportunity to warm things up for DJ Dan, The Scumfrog, Syd Gris and Peter Blick was truly an honor. #Gratitude

It's always a pleasure to be able to play at DISTRIKT. The camp has given so much to me over the years. When I first started coming to burning man years ago DISTRIKT exposed me to new sounds and new music that I hadn't really heard before.
I can say for sure that DISTRIKT has been a strong influence on my musical taste and for that im forever grateful. In return I wanted to play something a little different this year so this mix starts out a bit slower and then gradually picks up, I hope you enjoy it!

Three years ago I went to Burning Man for the first time, and camped with DISTRIKT. After leaving, having seen so many talented artists play, I had one thing in mind: To play at DISTRIKT. It was a dream that would become reality one year later. The energy on the dance floor is so unique and contagious, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to contribute to its soundtrack. It wasn’t long ago that I never considered DJing or had any knowledge of the underground dance music scene whatsoever. In fact, it was at burning man many years ago that I had my first crash course in exposure to it at all. I remember the first time I came to DISTRIKT in 2010 I was so blown away by the complete wild nature of this seemingly never ending block party that was completely encompassed with a totally inviting family vibe; While the DJs, who were completely foreign to me were making everyone dance in rhythm with each other. Fast forward many years and there I was, walking into the DJ booth, playing on the Wednesday line up, of which I personally knew all the DJs. As my music career has started and grown, which such a burning man influence, so has my musical direction. With this set I completely went with the flow of the day and started with a very techie vibe, taking over from where Muffs & Mykola left off, and let music naturally flow from techie, grooves day time vibes to just open, progressive tech vibes. I am so happy to have been invited to join the musical family at the DISTRIKT, and really hope you enjoy this set… Looking forward to seeing you all this year at the burn! @Kellam

My bed In Black Rock City last year was practically on the DISTRIKT dance floor, so I was awakened by many of the opening sets, that are unjustly less attended than the closing sets, at dawn. The awakenings were always pleasant and often made me feel energized, and wishing for stronger playa WIFI so that I could shazam from my pillow what was being played. The opening sets defined DISTRIKT for me in 2016, and if my taste is any indication, some of those openers will eventually be playing the closing sets. I am so grateful for the entire DISTRIKT team for once again giving me the amazing Thursday sunset slot, and I hope that you enjoy listening and dancing and reminiscing to this one! @Thescumfrog

I spent my first five or so burns dreaming of a time I'd be able to play at DISTRIKT. So, needless to say, when that time presented itself, I was ready and willing. This year at Burning Man was a milestone for me in several ways. First, it was my 10th burn! It’s fun to think back to all my Burning Man experiences, and try to piece which memories go with which years. Sort of like putting together a jigsaw puzzle looking through a mirror under water. Second, it was the first year I kept my shirt on during my DISTRIKT set, like an adult film actress trying to go legit. And finally I had a lot of fun putting Piper into one of my mixes (seek to the 1:25:28 mark, a bike announcement recorded several years ago). For all these reasons and many others, this was definitely one of my favorite years at Burning Man. Here’s my Monday night closing set. Playing DISTRIKT is always one of the things that makes my Burn complete. This year I played on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. I played a very funky and upbeat set to set the tone for the day and get people worshiping the sungods. Later in the week our community was rocked with the news of the passing of one of the DISTRIKT founders, Mike Reigle. I dedicate this set to the memory of Mikey. Rest in peace my brother. - Clarkie

Each year I am always so very grateful to be party if the DNA of the best day party on the planet. So much effort, intention and vision goes into creating the DISTRIKT experience by so many people and like Burning Man, the magic is that each person who contributes does so from a place of inspired generosity. The simple goal: Elevate the human experience thru music and the magnetic force of amazing people getting to be themselves, dance and express love and joy. This year, I was given the honor of playing the second to last set, setting the stage for Kramer’s legendary closing set on Saturday. In 2007 I played the opening set Monday 11:00am to a virtually empty dance floor. What a ride these 8 years have been and what a blessing to be part of such an awesome group of humans. Words cannot express my Gratitude so hopefully the music does the job. Thank you to all of the beautiful souls who joined us that fine Saturday at DISTRIKT this year. The dust blew in hard. Relentless. All Burn long. Destroyed pretty much everything. Beautiful it was.
There was true love, crushing loss, epiphany, change. We were challenged, confronted, baffled, amused. It threw us curveballs, softballs, thrashed our weary minds to the point of burnout.
In the middle of this Carnival of Chaos, were the twin techno towers of DISTRIKT, letting fly with winning smiles, throbbing bass, passionate hugs, rainbow tears and a sense of unity through the beauty of the beat.
We wore black. And we fucking rocked.

My first burn was 2006. I came to Burning Man a lover of house music and believer that the best place in the world was Ibiza. Looking back I laugh at how wrong I was. Although my heart was in the right place, I hadn't witnessed the passion at Burning Man. Ibiza is a great party, but Burning Man goes much deeper. It is unmatched. You have to love it -- really love it -- to be here. Thousands of dollars, weeks (or months) of preparation, a week (or two) of vacation, conditions unfit for human existence, year after year. We don't just buy tickets, we create the experience, built from our dreams. That's what makes Burning Man the best place on earth.
I've been back every year, and always camped with my family at Deep End / DISTRIKT. Back in the Deep End days, dancing in my sparkly pants and rolling my face off, I dreamt that some day I would get to play for this incredible crowd at sunset. I got my start in 2011 playing the Tuesday noon set for a very empty dance floor except for my 30 closest friends (thank you all for enduring the horrible heat and my developing mixing skills). Three years, a hundred gigs, and thousands of practice hours later I got to realize my dream of playing the closing set at DISTRIKT. I have many people to thank -- my lovely Pipey, Kramer, Ben, the DISTRIKT build crew, all of our campers who simply create awesomeness, and the entire Burning Man community. We build a stage and the greatest people in the world show up.

It was another amazing year at DISTRIKT and I’m excited to finally be sharing my Saturday closing set. As always, it’s a fun mix of my best tracks from the year, plus some classics and old favorites. An amazing moment in time and one of the most incredible moments I’ve ever had in my 17 years at Burning Man, was when the dust storm blew in during my set while Lil Louis’ “French Kiss” was playing and along with it came thousands of dragonflies that swarmed the dance floor. 30 seconds later, it was all gone and the sun was shining again.
